A Quick Pokemon Hot Take:
A MASSIVE missed opportunity in Pokemon Sun and Moon + USUM would’ve been to actually battle Mother Beast Lusamine like she was an actual Pokemon. Imagine the chills players would get when the words “Mother Beast Lusamine Appeared!” On the screen.
Instead of battling her Pokemon, you’d actually get to battle LUSAMINE HERSELF. And at the end of the fight, you and your companions combine all of your powers together to unleash a Z Move that ultimately takes her down.

The Former Aether President has achieved her dream, fusing with the parasite @ub01symbiontnihilego and becoming an Ultra beast-Human hybrid, becoming its worthy host.
About the fusion
Under normal circumstances, the host will be more like a puppet and mostly controlled by the Nihilego, as the Ultra Beast, and the neurotoxin caused by the Nihilego may cause the host's mental functions to slowly diminish. This may also cause the host's mind to revert into a more childish state.
This particular Nihilego is one of the biggest of its hive and therefore is good at fusing and manipulating hosts and making them bend to its will, which might make you think that this might just be a parasitic relationship where Nihilego assumes most control.
However, as this Nihilego had been caught by the Aether President and had even fused with her before, the Nihilego wants to fuse with Lusamine not just to feed on her and force her to do whatever it wants, but also because Lusamine wants this too and Nihilego wants to get closer with its beautiful trainer. If Lusamine did not want to fuse with Nihilego, it would not capture her against her will.
This makes their relationship less parasitic and more mutualistic/symbiotic with each other. Lusamine's mindset will not return back to a child and will be instead one of a grown woman, and instead of the host being forced to devote everything to Nihilego, there will be just a little manipulation that causes the host to not rebel against it. After all, Nihilego is not that concerned about disloyalty towards itself as it knows Lusamine willingly fused with it because it is her desire to do so.
Nihilego however can still pump strong neurotoxins to evoke strong feelings as well as influence her thinking, but usually does it when Lusamine is stressed as the venom can turn negative feelings into positive ones. Nihilego also amplifies Lusamine's desires, first being her motherly tendencies, and therefore makes the other Nihilego in its hive treat Lusamine as its mother, hence "Mother Beast", and secondly, her desire to take revenge on Lillie and Selene, who had forced her to unfuse with Nihilego the first time.
About Mother Beast Lusamine Herself:
The Nihilego that has fused with her taken a blackened form, its original white bell with white stars becoming purple-black colored, the white stars encircling it becoming iridescent spots. The bell expanding greatly and becoming an pear-oval shape.
There are 8 black tentacles, those expanded from the cute white tentacles of a wild Nihilego, 4 being stingers to inject poison into enemies and 4 being claw-like tentacles. They are controlled by 3 white control points. The claw-like tentacles can be controlled by the host through their hands if it is placed inside the control points. However, Nihilego can just control these tentacles on its own if it wishes to. Nihilego can also see through the eyes in the tentacles (3 on each stinger tentacle and 1 on each claw-like tentacle), usually when it senses something from afar.
Lusamine herself had also undergone some changes. Her skin became more tan, her eyes become more of a yellow shade, and her original yellow hair becomes purple with yellow streaks, and gets bundled up and goes all around the bell. Her skirt and leggings are stained purple. The crystals on her hair, chest, and shoes are all absorbed for the fusion, and even her shoes are discarded in the process of the fusion. However, Lusamine can some of the clothes using the poison, if she feels sexy maybe.
Lusamine can use her human hands and legs all the same and can see through her normal human eyes, but she can also control the tentacles as stated above.
She is also still able to speak human language, but her speech is rather distorted, creepy yet seductive, and slightly muffled as if she was underwater.
The Mother Beast is bonded to the leader of the Nihilego nest, and she also has some influence on the smaller Nihilego.
She is also not immortal, she just ages very slowly.
Mother Beast's goal is to take revenge on Selene and Lillie, who had forced her to be seperated from Nihilego. She wants to achieve this by making a Nihilego absorb Selene so that she is no more while making another Nihilego fuse with Lillie in a similar way that she is, making Lillie care about satisfying the Nihilego, and as she has influence over the other Nihilego, Lillie may be obedient to her too, so Lillie can finally be the perfect daughter she always wanted her to be.
She also wants to retain control of the Aether foundation, with its focus changed to inter-dimensional travel, and releasing Ultra Beasts to coexist with humans in Alola.

@aetherceuse, cont.
An age-old legend from lands far away spoke of a harrowing calamity, of a time when the lords of Time and Space and Destruction descended from the heavens to unleash their fury upon the lands and each other. It was a time of death and great suffering, so needlessly violent as to incur the wrath of Nature and Dragonfire. When the gods wage war all life suffers, be it man or beast, as the very fabrics of the universe are torn at the seams.
Although scans did reveal the creature to be a Pokémon, it was plenty obvious that it did not come from this world, perhaps not even from this very reality. Its genetic makeup was all wrong; its energy readings were more akin to that of Ultra Beasts, as faded as it may be from a long life lived on this planet. Truly, this was an ancient beast, worn and covered in a myriad of scars. It would be no surprise, then, that the bizarre Pokémon would enrapture a certain blonde woman.
"M- Ms. President," stammered one of the foundation's scientists, putting away a pad and holding out a hand as if to stop her as she passed by. "Please, don't get too close to it... We've found that the Pokémon harbours some kind of pathogen that we haven't had the opportunity to fully exa-"
The scientist was immediately cut off by a blood-curdling growl emanating from the sleeping giant.
Slowly, surely, Goldie awoke from her slumber, another withering snarl rising from deep within her throat as she was oh so rudely disturbed. The talons crowning her wing-arms dug deep into the ground as she pushed herself onto her four feet, these claws much smaller than her talons yet still wickedly sharp and powered by robust limbs. The membranes of her wings billowed like a burnt cape as she moved, framing her massive body. A tail was revealed, thick as a tree trunk at the base and tapering to a whip-like point, bladed spikes lining it along its lateral length. Then Goldie parted her jaws, thick and robust, and filled with many blood-curdling teeth befitting of a vicious hunter.
Her eyes, deep red and glowing afire, locked on the woman standing before her, speaking to her. Goldie stood at her full height, somehow even bigger than before, looming threateningly. It took no genius to realise that this was a monster built for slaughter, whose glorious shine had been worn away through constant bloodshed and conflict. She was no feeble, ailing victim seeking help. Far from it.
However, this was also an intelligent and thinking beast. Any other monster would have bared down on the woman in an attempt to tear her to bloody pieces, but not Goldie. Though the dragon did growl, so menacingly as to make any lesser person soil their pants, she made no moves that could be interpreted as aggressive. The scientist from before still made the wise decision of scurrying away, hastening their steps as they felt Goldie's chilling gaze following them, before she turned her attention back to the woman.
Goldie had been around people for long enough to conclude that said woman must be the one in charge. She raised her wings off the ground -- hanging limply to her sides like a person's arms -- then the dragon approached. Her massive size meant great weight as her every step made the surrounding earth shudder, and she stopped barely a hair's breadth away from the woman's face. Goldie inhaled deeply; she could tell that this was most likely the leader of the surrounding people, but there was something else that slowly earned her the dragon's interest. An air of belonging and kinship, one of sheer elegance and skin-crawling wrongness.
Like Goldie herself.
Then she exhaled, her breath reeking of death and decay; and likely messed up the woman's hair.
In the backdrop a different scientist called out, "Please, Ms. President, get away from it!" They visibly flinched when the dragon's terrifying gaze fell upon them and their fellow employees. "We- We can't have you get infected by it! We don't know what the pathogen's effects are!"

Today is a special case for the Ultra Beast entries, not too much info on Mother Beast but she appeared in the games nonetheless so I had to do something related to her! Inside you will find a very angry Lusamine, don't get too close, she bites.

General Pokémon Villain HC’s PT. 2
((Part 2 of the Pokémon villain headcanon saga. Characters are in no particular order. Also, content warning for a few entries. Also, forgive me for some spelling and grammatical errors.))
Lusamine🪼
Although her actions are abusive and controlling, it all stems from grief. Of course, it’s not an excuse for how Lusamine treated her children. Lillie and Gladion haven’t done anything to deserve this kind of treatment. As deplorable as her actions are, Lusamine convinced herself that she’s trying to do the right thing in order to bring her husband back. However, it became twisted and vile, morphing into obsession rather than a valiant effort. Lusamine has no idea of what she’s doing as her desperation and obsessive behavior cloud her good character. Whatever respectability she has accrued over the years goes out the window as she tries (and fails) to succeed in her personal mission.
Truthfully, Lusamine resents Ultra Beasts (UB for short). They took her husband away and are the sole reason why her obsession took root. Her children ran away because of UB’s and she got possessed by Nihilego, the toxins of which are still somewhat present in her system that couln’t be removed.
Speaking of Nihilego’s toxins, the doctors in Kanto (and some from Alola) were able to remove most of the poison from Lusamine’s body. However, a few areas have latched onto her system strongly, making removal impossible and could cause complications. Such areas include her head and arms, inhibiting mobility and memory. There are moments where the poison does affect her vision, so Lusamine cannot see quite as well whenever it occurs. Fainting spells happen often that doctors recommended Lusamine to be confined in a wheelchair for a few months until they can figure out how to completely remove the poison entirely.
Currently attending therapy. Aside from the possession she endured by the hand of Nihilego, Lusamine attends therapy to work out her own mental and emotional health. Going to therapy was actually Lillie’s suggestion.
Deep down, like really deep down, Lusamine loves her children. She does. However, trying to rebuild that love and connection that she destroyed by her own hand will take a long time. While Lillie is open to the possibility of reconciliation, Gladion is more hesitant.
Doesn’t really operate too much at the Aether Foundation. Most of the responsibility has fallen onto Wicke and Lusamine sort of just shadows here and there. She’s embarrassed about showing herself to her peers and usually does foundation work online inside her home. Her work gets looked after by Wicke, as an added precaution.
Whenever Lillie comes home from Kanto, she tries to spend time with Lusamine. While Lillie is open to having a relationship with her mother once again, it’s difficult as bad memories come flooding back. However, Lusamine encourages Lillie to talk about it and allows her to air out the painful feelings that were brought about during that time. Lusamine doesn’t say a word and just lets her daughter vent, because to her, she needs to be reminded of what she has done. When Lillie finishes, Lusamine reminds Lillie that she has every right to be angry and every right to not forgive her. Lusamine wants to be a good mother to her kids, but understands that it may not be possible given what she has done. All she can do is listen and validate their feelings and promise to be better.
Ghetsis👑
An unstable individual without a doubt. Can barely distinguish reality from his own warped twisted view.
Everyone’s just a pawn to him and it doesn’t matter who. The Seven Sages, his useless Grunts, and, of course, N are all parts in his little toolbox. He could easily convince others to do something or, God forbid, trust his word with a simple heart to heart. He’s a master at words and knows what strings to pluck.
Such a drama queen, emphasis on drama. Ghetsis literally cannot stand being criticized nor ignored. He surrounds himself with yes men, ie. The Seven Sages, and their unwavering approval towards him gives him the push to keep doing what he’s doing. Just like how a cult leader operates.
Ghetsis doesn’t get Pokémon. He understands they are fantastical beings, but he never understood them with a humane approach. He acquired his team from the Seven Sages, each one gifting Ghetsis their partner Pokémon to dedicate their loyalty to him. These Pokémon had no idea of the world of hurt and mistreatment that Ghetsis would soon bestow upon them. Ghetsis’ “training” wasn’t anything like Pokémon battling or sparing. He would force his team to undergo harsh experiments to push beyond their limitations to the point of life threatening. Hydreigon got the worst of it and actually retaliated against Ghetsis by viciously attacking him, causing near fatal injuries.
I want to theorize that Ghetsis’ lineage, the Harmonia name, may be linked to the Abyssal Ruins somehow. It’s a long stretch, but for some reason, I see Ghetsis having some strange connection to the sunken temple with its abundance of wealth and knowledge. The ruins might have been a palace or something akin to the Library of Alexandria, where Unovian rulers amassed a swath of power and influence and knowledge over the region. I feel like Ghetsis’ family tree may have something to do with it considering how the site seems to be full of unsolved mystery. And knowing how other NPCs talk about it and the items that the player can find, it just feels like something that can be traced back to Ghetsis as he’s someone who believes has a divine right.
Ghetsis feels phantom pain on his right eye all the time. It got taken out by Hydreigon and he can’t see quite as well. However, he’ll feel a throbbing sensation. However, he doesn’t feel any pain or discomfort on his right side at all. It’s just his right eye.
Has a dark sense of humor. A morbid sense of humor.
If there’s ANY sense of normalcy with this man, he’s an avid reader. He likes to engage with mythology and science, primarily related to technology and energy, as well as history books about Unova’s past. Anytime where he’s not plotting world domination, he’s got his nose in a book.
Despite being an adoptive father, Ghetsis has never formed a genuine connection with his children. Concordia and Anthea barely spent time with him, but whenever he would, he’d be soft and gentle. Of course, it didn’t stop him from brainwashing them into his cult and putting the responsibility of N’s well-being over their own, especially at a young age. He would always emphasize N’s importance as crucial and simultaneously make the girls believe that their existence is to serve N. As for N himself, well, we all know the story by now.
Lysandre🔥
Gonna be real honest here: this dude gave me a lot to think about, headcanon wise. It’s not so much the fact that he’s kind of intimidating to write about, but more on the fact that he’s kind of mid whenever the topic lands on him specifically. Lysandre happens to be both complicated yet interesting, so it gave me something to munch on.
Lysandre oozes with confidence. He takes pride in his work and public image. He can handle stress pretty well and knows exactly how to deal with issues that crop up in his daily life, which I can only hope to aspire to be one day.
His relationship with Sycamore is near and dear to him. Lysandre shares mutual respect with Sycamore and keeps in touch to get any recent news or highlights on the professor’s research. These two go way back and their interactions are pleasant and low key. However, as they gotten busier, their meet-ups dwindled. Still, Sycamore remains as Lysandre’s closest friend and someone whom Lysandre can turn towards whenever he’s upset about something.
Connecting with the prior point, knowing Lysandre’s villainous goals and the overall destructive effect it would entail, he decided on a selective few who he wanted to spare. Sycamore happened to be person number one.
People perceive Lysandre differently and it all depends on who you talk to. Some say that he’s quite generous as a philanthropist while others say he’s elusive and hard to read. Others make assumptions based on superficial observations such as his wealth and popularity. Honestly, it’s never consistent.
Despite what others think, Lysandre falls into the introvert category. He doesn’t like to be in public for long periods of time, but bears through it because of his job.
Coffee lover. I mean, he has his own café so it’s pretty much canon?
I’ll just say it here: Malva is a simp for this man. She has special connections with Lysandre and as a result she’s able to get the full scoop on his secretive activity behind the public’s eye. Lysandre absolutely knows that Malva’s got a thing for him (I mean, she’s got good taste) and he definitely does use that to his advantage. He can convince her to manipulate the media, as well as divert any attention away from him while he conducts his Team Flare work. Malva doesn’t question his authority and she’s pretty much a ride or die. Nobody expected Kalos’s top reporter to be part of this nefarious group, which I suppose could be Lysandre’s doing as a way of showing thanks by protecting her reputation.
Him wanting to wipe the world clean from all of its impurities brewed inside of him for a long time. Initially, he really wanted to make people’s lives better with his humanitarian efforts but became tired and frustrated each time people complained that he wasn’t doing enough. Like, this man tried endlessly to provide a solution. The results continued to yield nothing and it sprouted the seeds of resentment and hate within Lysandre to pursue the nuclear option. To an extent, I see where Lysandre comes from. It sucks when people keeps pressuring you to do more, to give more of yourself to people, yet get little in return. However, it doesn’t negate the fact that Lysandre was willing to commit mass murder on people because they kept bitching at him for minor reasons. You can’t fault the man for being pissed, but still: Genocide ain’t it.

Important Context: Lusamine in Sun and Moon was canonically, in the text of the game itself, infected with alien neurotoxins that removed her inhibitions and amplified her character flaws.
Once they were flushed from her system, she immediately stopped verbally abusing her daughter, and Lillie even took her to Kanto to try and get medical treatment from fusing with Nihilego.
Lillie does not, at any point, decide to cut Lusamine out of her life. Indeed, the final battle against Lusamine is the result of Lillie chasing her into another dimension to rescue her.
Lusamine in the anime is a loving-yet-neglectful/absent parent who Lillie somewhat resents due to said mother disregarding Lillie's own desires and feelings even as she otherwise dotes on her, with the two often butting heads. As Lusamine is a protagonist instead of an antagonist, a good chunk of her arc is based around repairing her relationships with her children. While she's still obsessed with the Ultra Beasts, it's nowhere NEAR the extent of her in-game counterpart, not until she ends up getting abducted by and fused with Nihilego, and her womanchild tendencies are cranked up to a disturbing level.
In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Lusamine's abuse is FAR less severe, with her being more of an overprotective control freak than anything. with her being in opposition to the player because she believes she's good enough to defeat Necrozma. She's reimagined as a well-intentioned extremist who's trying to protect Alola from the game's ACTUAL main villain: Necrozma, with the conflict mostly boiling down to Lusamine being unwilling to admit that she's in over her head. The story is FAR weaker than Sun and Moon as a result.
Ah hm.
Yeah I think I like the original SM better. That sounds fascinating.
The anime kinda sounds like an AU where Lusamine gets some fucking help for the neurotoxins before the plot kicks off, but the plot still kicks off. So we're getting a post SM personality during the events of SM. (to compare, I'm kinda seeing this like what I did with Enji in the Amnesia!Dabi AU. He gets help earlier but the plot is still happening around him.)
USUM sounds like it just went off the rails.

Actually sends you two
◑ What is a side to your muse you want to show off, but haven’t had the chance to yet?
Munday Character Development
Hey. What the hell. I am still not satisfied with the lack of explanation we were given about Lusamine's dynamic with the Ultra Beasts in the manga. What do you MEAN they didn't immediately aggro her like they do to the rest of the people on the islands? What do you MEAN they just cooperate with her and act as though this is the most natural thing to them? How does she so effortlessly win the trust of otherwise DEADLY beasts?
This was actually where my idea to make Lusamine a non-human faller from a different dimension in this interpretation came from. This makes me believe that Ultra Beasts and Ultra "Humans" are closer in relation than how Pokémon and humans are-- in terms of the evolutionary tree. It's also where my headcanons regarding how Ultra Humans often fuse with symbiosis with Ultra Beasts in order to learn and evolve together.
But still like. What the hell. She calls herself their mother, and they just go with it. That's Final Fantasy Jenova levels of insane.

[ actually i did this for another blog so uhhh. quick minor headcanon dump of old stuff i wrote here that newcomers may not know ]
his father is Unovan, his mother is Alolan
he's naturally good when it comes to Bug Pokèmon, and 9 times out of 10 they immediately trust him
he can't dance well, and while he can sing he generally keeps that notion for himself
he's a good cook and baker, simply more often than not he can't be fucked to actually cook properly
his Golisopod has broken vocal chords, and his only noises are purrs, chirps and growls; he's also the only Pokèmon his father didn't release after he gave up on the island trial
Golisopod also "forgot" his Emergency Exit ability after the Ultra Beasts situation
he's terrible with alcohol, barely managing to stand a single glass of beer before getting tipsy
his mother was often out for work, so she missed a lot of his childhood; she divorced his father after Guzma ran away from home to form Team Skull, and reconciled with her son after the Lusamine thing
he was genuinely in love with Lusamine, by the way
Po Town now has: a perfectly working Pokèmon Center, traps on the outside (note: it's just a bunch of Zubats), a house full of nothing but stuff to break, a pool filled with Muks and Grimers, a weed plantation and an inflatable pool on top of the Shady House roof.
All of Guzma's piercing and tattoos are self-made
He bleacher his hair and dyed the hairs of most of his grunts; he also helped making the uniforms
he has basic knowledge of first aid
his favorite music genre is hardbass, his favorite food is chocolate and his favorite videogame are Pokèmon Animal Crossing and Dark Souls

personally, i think being an over powered pokemon villain would be cool af
like, you could have one of ever mechanic in game; dynamax, Z move, mega evolution, terrastalizing (or however you spell it), etc other mechanics i might not remember
if i were a pokemon villain, i’d DEFINITELY have a different phases of having to defeat me like i have this planned out guys
my first four pokemon would be normal, then my fifth would mega evolve and my sixth would be gigantamax
and I’d have a pokemon buddy that follows me, it would be a Nihilego (or another powerful legendary) and it would be a “Oh you little brat i’m gonna get you” maybe a mother beast lusamine sequence or a crazed lunatic with a legendary pokemon type deal

ogerpon in alola what do she do ?
like , the idea of an au where ogerpon is the mc for pokemon sun / moon is just a brilliant idea.
like , i can picture ogerpon wearing a z-ring on her ankle. sure it might get in the way when she's personally fighting , but hot damn does she looks cool.
and the motherbeast battle would go way different than in canon b/c ogerpon has type advantage against nihilego.
also, like , instead of nebby coming in clutch when the motherbeast tries to attack lillie , ogerpon just domes the beast with an ultra ball.
and to her and lille's shock , the ball opens and mother beast lusamine gets crit captured.
