Phelinx let out a dramatic huff as he crossed his arms. His gaze fell on the empty wall in front of him as he kept his back turned to the Espada across the room.

“You know it’s foolish to expose your back to the enemy like that, Phelinx.” Szayelaporro didn’t look up from the work in front of him. The mess of organs and instruments kept him busy. When no response came, he gave a quick glance to the Arrancar across the room. “Oh, I see. You’re pouting again.”

“I am not pouting!” Phelinx finally spoke up. He did not turn to look at the other man, but stayed still staring at the wall.

“I know that look all too well by now. You want something, but you refuse to tell me. Is that is?”

No response. Szayelaporro scowled.

“Do you really intend to sit there until I pay attention to your needs? Really, Phelinx, you are impossible. I’m more than happy ignoring you until you give up,” his scowl turned into a devious smirk, “I mean, that pitiful expression of your’s is almost cute.”

Phelinx startled slightly at the word. Cute. He turned his head, glaring daggers at Szayelaporro, but stayed silent still.

“Yes, there it is. That precious little pout of your’s. Although...” The Espada rose from his seat, ignoring his work for the moment as he strode over to Phelinx, “I’m curious to see what other expressions I can get you to make.”

Szayelaporro ghosted his gloved finger underneath Phelinx’s chin, pulling it up to look him in the eyes. The scientist smiled, but it did not reach his eyes. Instead, a taunting darkness stared down the man in front of him. Phelinx held his ground, but could feel his face heating up by the seconds.

“Oh? It seems I was right, as usual. This expression is adorable as well.”

“Knock that shit off, Szay. Quit playing with me, fucker.”

Szayelaporro clicked his tongue. “I must admit, I do prefer when you’re pouting. Not only is it cute, but you’re also quiet. I have other ways to keep you quiet, though. Care to test one out now?”

He leaned in close, holding Phelinx’s chin between his fingers. Szayelaporro’s lips came dangerously close to the corner of Phelinx’s mouth. His breath tickled his skin and it caused him to shiver in anticipation. Closer now, Szayelaporro brushed his lips against Phelinx’s, not quiet a kiss. As Phelinx leaned forward slightly, attempting to connect their mouths, Szayelaporro pulled away.

Phelinx stumbled forward, slightly off balance, as he was left dumbfounded.

“I’m sorry, did you want something, Phelinx?” Szayelaporro hummed.

“What the hell was that?” Phelinx barked.

The scientist placed his hand on the back of Phelinx’s head as he brought it closer and touched their foreheads together. The action was sweet, but Phelinx knew better. The look in Szayelaporro’s eyes told him not to get too comfortable.

“You truly are the most entertaining little rat I have running around this palace. You should feel honored. It’s not every day a lesser life form such as yourself can elicit these emotions from me. Don’t let my feelings fuel your ego, though.”

Phelinx frowned and cast his gaze to the side. Szayelaporro pressed his face closer, noses bumping together. It drew Phelinx’s attention back to him. Just how he liked it...

“Now, are you going to behave?” Szayelaporro asked.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I didn’t even do anything, asshole.”

“Is that so? Then, do you deny that you tried to take initiative and attempted to push your lips against mine just now?”

Phelinx’s face flushed red. “I-I didn’t- I don’t-”

Before Phelinx could finish stuttering, Szayelaporro pressed his mouth against his. The kiss was short, but Phelinx was left dazed as Szayelaporro pulled away. The Espada pulled his hand away and walked back to his desk, returning his attention to his work as if nothing happened.

“You know, Phelinx,” he spoke, “if you want my attention, all you have to do is ask.”

“Yeah right. You want something in return, don’t you?” Phelinx crossed his arms.

Szayelaporro grinned. “Well, I suppose it would be more effective if you begged for my attention instead.”

Phelinx gave a wry smirk in response. “What? No special treatment for your favorite lab rat? Making me beg is a shitty move, y’know.”

“Like I said, don’t let my feelings fuel your ego.”

Pride Parade Spotlight: Mothblush!

Our first spotlight post is going to Tumblr user @mothblush​ ! They are a nonbinary artist and writer here in the community with a fun and innovative artstyle (their art above can be found here!) They’re also a big fan of video games and crocheting (the happy creator of 2 blankets and a hat no less!)

Moth is a friendly and open minded individual with lots of love to give! They said that their work is always LGBT+ friendly while being especially Trans positive!! They encourage more trans representation in media and hope that with their work they can bring more light into the lives of trans people by creating and supporting them, even if they’re just one person! Way to go, Moth!! You’ve brightened my day already!

Under the cut is an interview I had with Moth about their ships and any advice that had to give! Check it out!

What does pride mean for you and your F/Os?

Moth: “Pride for me and my F/Os means self-expression and positivity. It's important to remember the roots of pride and where it came from, but the fact that it's evolved into people celebrating and being proud of themselves speaks to me. While we understand in real life that LGBT people are marginalized, we still have the courage to come forward and be proud of who we are. I think that's huge. I think seeing LGBT selfshippers in the community is super important, because it brings us together as a group with solidarity. I at first felt pretty alone before seeing and meeting other LGBT selfshippers, so I speak from that experience! And the fact that everyone has been so supportive of my ships and content is something I will always thank my lucky stars for. My main F/Os are LGBT as well! All of their relationships paired with my S/I or OCs are unique in their own way. I always want to portray happy, healthy LGBT relationships. I personally feel like there's not enough of that. Kabuki is Pansexual, shipped with my S/I Moth who is nonbinary and bisexual. Jumba is a bisexual, transgender (trans man), polyamorous Pleakley is nonbinary & questioning/still unsure. Both (Jumba and Pleakly) are shipped with my OC Jackson who is nonbinary and genderfluid. The alien trio are all polyamorous! Since they're aliens I don't think they'd conform to human standards! Piers: Gay, and shipped with my OC Ridley, who is a trans man.“

Oh I think that’s wonderful! Poly pride! In your polyship, what is the dynamic like for all of you? Must be exciting to be living with those two! 

Moth: “It’s a pretty good dynamic! Jackson comes from a world that’s unfamiliar with the technology available on the planets their S/Os are from. They’ve had to learn a LOT of things, but thankfully both have been extremely patient and helpful. It definitely was a culture shock, but any obstacle in their relationship has been handled with grace.

At home the three of them love to relax; sometimes together, sometimes separately. When you have a trio of introverts sometimes the three of them just need to have their me time and recharge!

There’s a lot of love, respect, and understanding in their polyam relationship, and boundaries are seen as priority. Communication is key. The best way I can describe it is the buddy system, but with three- so they’re a team. It’s worked out for the three of them so far and they’re living that happy domestic life we all dream about. 💕 (Sometimes Jumba and Jackson debate about ridiculous things, though. They made him extremely riled up when they claimed a fish fully submerged underwater isn’t considered “wet.”)

That sounds like a healthy and nice dynamic to have with loved ones! You're a lucky one!!!

Moth: “Yeah! For clarification though, Jackson's just an OC I project traits and desires into, same with Ridley. Moth is definitely the closest thing to an S/I, but moreso in personality! I also think it's just less confusing than shipping one character with ALL of my F/Os, haha. Though Jackson DID start off as an S/I, their appearance and character changed enough over the years to evolve into their own character!”

It sounds like you have a healthy understanding of yourself and your F/Os!! Do you have any advice for any LGBT+ selfshippers who are going through a rough time or are struggling with their sexuality/identity? 

Moth: “ Thanks! And my advice to LGBT+ selfshippers, especially in their youth: You don't have to come out if you're not ready, but remember that you're still loved regardless. In your darkest hours, remember there are people who will love and support you for who you are. It sounds cliche, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's also okay to put your safety first. Whether or not you're out and a member of the selfship community, as an LGBT+ selfshipper, I will ALWAYS support you and welcome you with open arms. If you ever need solidarity, I'm with you- I hear you, I see you, and even if I don't fully understand you, know that I empathize and will do my best to listen. Do not feel ashamed for being you. It is not wrong or abnormal, and to come out and share who you are with the world is an incredible act of bravery that many of us under the LGBT+ umbrella will love and support you for. No matter what the world says, we are an incredible, diverse group of individuals whose love shines brighter than any star. And of course: Your F/Os love you for you. They would never judge you or think of you any differently, and they would be ecstatic and over the moon to support you, and flattered beyond belief that you trusted them with something so personal and meaningful to you.”

WELL SAID!!! I think your words will really move some people and make them feel welcome to be themselves. Do you have anything else you'd like to add before we bring the interview to an end?

Moth: “Thank you so much, I'm so glad to hear that!! I'm glad to offer great words of comfort and support to the community. Anything else... well, shameless self promotion, follow me! I talk about Crossing Animals and Gay Aliens a lot. However I'd also like to give a shoutout to my friend @shinobishiba for being my biggest cheerleader and supporter in this community. I'm so glad to call them my friend! (And they are also LGBT and an extremely talented artist, so check them out!!)”

Hey Wasabi! Just want to say you and Leo are adorable and seeing him talk about you two is the sweetest. I’m happy for you guys! But for an actual question: What kind of music do you like? What’s your favorite song if you can pick one?

Oldies and instrumental stuff are favorites, and I also like a lot of more modern rock stuff! (And thanks to Leo, a genre he lovingly calls “buttrock” which consists entirely of songs from the Sonic series).

I can’t really pick a personal favorite song, but a song I have to hold in high regard is Endless Possibility by Jaret Reddick (it’s from a Sonic game). The original song is really fast and energetic but an acoustic cover of the song is what we used for our first dance at our wedding, so I have a bias towards it :3

      “ Helloooo there!! 

      We actually met at a bar after one of my many tours, I decided I would take a walk on the wild side and see if anyone recognized me, because they always do. So anyways; at a bar, posted up on the bar top telling one of my famous stories to a nice handful of babes. Everything’s chill, they’ve all been listening-- my hair looked great that day, by the way. Then they all start to leave because it’s honestly exhausting to be surrounded by that many pretty people. 

      Anyways, they walk up and the first thing I notice is how tight their pants are, the laces up the side, and then I see their hair. It’s like this weird straight bob but it’s dyed a bright, bright blue. Then I noticed their eyes, the piercings - I’m not shallow, by the way, just mentioning. So they tell me they’re a big fan and wanna be a Legend someday. At first I was like ‘yeah no, I totally get what you mean, this is exactly how I started out, too’, but they were being really, really like ‘no, I’m totally gonna be there soon’.

      So they give me their number. I’ll be totally honest with you, I get so many numbers it’s unreal, but I couldn’t bring myself to like, delete theirs. I never got around to visiting that bar again.

      Fast forward maybe a couple months later and there’s this story running on the news about another robotics lab that got raided, and like a week after it ran, they ended up showing up to compete in the Games. I still don’t really know how they got there but they had some weird little drone thing and they’re good at what they do. Well, not as good as me, but we can’t all be winners here, huh?

      That’s the first time in a long time I’ve actually thought about that story. Now that I have I’m just thinking about that crop top they were wearing.

Seashell; What are three or four of you and your F/O(s) favorite souvenirs and what is the story behind them?

1. Oh!! Definitely his card! I bumped into him during one of his public appearances and he was personally handing out his trainer cards. I’ve always admired him from afar, so to be close to him felt like an honor!! When I first got it, I’m sure I must’ve stared at it every chance I got!! I’d pull his trainer card out of my wallet and just giggle madly. My Pokémon would either roll their own eyes or tease me about it hehe. <3

2. I also have his Dragon Badge! Earned it in a battle ofc! I felt so bad defeating him, because he hides his hurt well. But I could see thru his false confidence. Instead of the traditional handshake...I was so touched that I rushed into a hug! The crowd was taken aback and I think I quickly realized what I had done. I backed up abruptly, word-vomited a ton of “sorry!!”’s and “thank you for the match,” and fast-walked the heck on out of there!! 😳

3. The last thing is a dragon-fang charm that I bought from a souvenir shop in Hammerlocke! It reminds me of him, and I keep it on my Rotom-phone! <3

Sailboat; What mode of transportation do you and your F/O(s) usually take to travel!

I know that Corviknight flying taxis exist, but I feel like Raihan would totally ride on his Flygon, and I’d ride on my Noivern! It’s scary- but thrilling!! And I can totally see Raihan making a grand entrance by swooping in on the back of his Pokémon during his matches!!

Stapler; Who is the best at putting things that were damaged back together? This is not limited to physical object or machinery.

So, if we’re talking about bodies, it’ll definitely be meeee!! I’m a paramedic irl, so it’s in my nature to treat and heal!! Otherwise- if it’s anything else, it’ll most likely be Raihan!

Nice ask time! Please tell me some of your favorite things about Xigbar and the overall dynamic between him and your S/I!! You probably already have but I don’t check my dash often as I should and I’d love to know 💕

OKAY sorry it took me so long to get to this!! i wrote up a post here the other day but i absolutely do not mind rambling again. i think some of my favorite things include, but are not limited to:

Xigbar didn’t plan to fall for Rix, even tho he’s planned SO many other things - never planned to fall for a 5 foot navigator on the good guy side you know

Recently, I decided they met during Birth By Sleep - aka, they’ve known each other for like 12 years by KH3 and that’s soft, even if the road to this point was NOT quite as soft

also unrelated to their dynamic exactly but @sphearts and I were talking and we decided Xigbar is the type to complain about eating his veggies, but is an old man and WILL be seen snacking on brussel sprouts

anddd I generally just like how Xigbar is made a little Softer by Rix...not to butter my own bread but im v proud of their dynamic

Lilyshanks questions

Questions taken from @mothblush 's ask game (pardon it being a link to a reblog, as far as I'm aware they started over and I can no longer find the original post - trying to find it like I usually do leads me to a blank page). I had interesting answers to most of those so I just wanted to answer them instead of waiting for someone to ask :3

How does Skimble respond to seeing Lily hurt or upset?

He tries to make her comfortable. Asks if she wants some tea, some blankets, if she wants to watch a movie or talk - but most of the time she just wants him to be by her side. So they end up with her head on his chest, listening to his purring and heartbeat.

Does Skimble let Lily have independence and wait for her to come to him when something is wrong, or is he always checking in while concerned for her wellbeing?

Lily would probably have to raise her voice at him for him to really get that she wants to be left alone. He's extremely coddling which could be seen as stifling by any particularly independent person, fortunately Lily enjoys being given so much attention.

Is he ever willing to put himself in harm's way for Lily?

Skimbs is (dare I say, canonically) generally what I'd refer to as a passive protector. Which means putting primary focus on the vulnerable and escorting them to safety while the bolder, stronger active protectors focus on the source of danger, fighting it off. So while there's some risk, the main objective is to get both the person in danger and himself out of a potentially harmful situation rather than jumping into said danger.

Does Skimble prefer sunny days or rainy days? What about Lily? Do their preferences match? How do they both handle these days? What do they do together on either of these days?

I think both Skimble and Lily (as many cats do in general) prefer sunny days and basking in the sun. Although, watching the rain pour down from behind a window sounds pretty mesmerizing, and especially fun to do while cuddling :)

Do they sleep together at night? Is there a specific sleeping arrangement?

Well, not at night because night job-- but they do nap together lots, and sleep overnight on the weekends.

As for the positions...

Face to face or Lily literally sleeping on top of Skimble (though the latter is mostly for short naps or lazy snuggles).

They both want each other's faces to be the first thing they see when they wake up.

Has there ever been a REALLY big argument between them?

I don't think there has been. They're generally very in tune with each other. There was some tension after poly-breakup that could've ended in them parting ways too but never a big fight, and they worked through it eventually.

What’s the ideal date night for them?

Just an entire day spent in bed on various - spicy and wholesome - activities honestly sounds the most amazing 👉👈

Would either of them propose? If they already have, describe how it went!

They have gotten engaged once! Between the two, it went really casually, I think Lily was just like "I think I want to get married" while gushing about their shared boyfriend and Skimble agreed with her, now between them and that third person the proposal was quite an emotional scene (it's somewhere in the #lilyshanks story tag if you wanna see). But ever since they've parted ways... Lily and Skimble mutually agreed on breaking off the engagement until further notice because they specifically wanted to get married as a triad. But perhaps one day once they have fully healed...

What’s Lily's favorite physical feature of Skimble? What about her favorite aspect of his personality?

The nose! Very smoochable. Also his hips and butt are amazing.

He's very caring and soft. That's enough to steal my and Lily's heart.

What’s Lily's favorite way to be touched by Skimble? Were either of them touch starved before their relationship developed?

Well 👀

First of all, Lily really likes being squished. She finds comfort in tight spaces so strong hugs are awesome.

Also, oddly specific, but she really likes to be firmly held by her sides right above her hipbones (pinky fingers resting on them). It kinda just... feels right. As if it's a specific spot designed to place one's hands on.

Skimble was absolutely touchstarved and he is still very needy in that regard.

Have Lily and Skimble ever pranked each other?

Oh, Lily has pranked Skimble lots! He tried to get back at her once but... To illustrate what happened:

🌙: gekko is my dorohedoro insert, and their powers include being able to consume part of another sorcerer to gain their powers and memories for a short period of time. this makes them a lil op but it's whatever. theyre really too cowardly to fight most of the time tho so they spend the majority of their time just following en around like a nervous puppy

🌙: vice is my transformers insert and they're a decepticon who is the progeny of megatron....and they really just exist to cause problems when their Dad isn't looking. most of these problems include riling starscream up until he decides to snap and get in trouble with megatron

🌙: oh a headcanon for my wolfenstein insert dallas!! wyatt introduces them to J's music stash because he really kind of wants someone to share his feelings with after he dies, and because wyatt thinks that maybe dallas will open up a little bit when introduced to his records!! he ends up being right :3

🌙: another headcanon for dallas, actually....dallas was friends with max hass before anyone else, besides b.j. who is basically their dad bc he saved them from the. hrm. Facility that they were being kept in. they didn't speak to anyone besides b.j., maybe anya, and max (not verbally but y'know) for almost a fuckin month after they joined.

out of chiharu, kojika, and reona, kojika is the closest in looks (minus the deer stuff FSNDFBSDHF) but reona might be closest in personality?? mainly because theyre the only S/I i have that i gave a stutter like me!!

4. How did your s/i feel when they first met your f/o(s)? How do they feel about them now?

OH THIS ONES CUTE???? gonna do kojika and kakashi >:3

first met: kojika was really... curious?? a bit unsure because kakashi was more secluded but they never fully understood why. one day he sat by kojika when they were alone and they just sat in silence and neither of them really said anything which was a nice change for kojika!

now: THATS THEIR PUPPY NINJA. the love of their life. their whole world and more. they love him so much and trust him with their life. they’d do anything for him and so would he

6. Has your s/i undergone any design/story changes since they were first made?

kojika’s my first naruto S/I so they definitely have!! i think my original idea for them was like.... they and kakashi used to be really close but grew a part for some reason?? anyway i changed it and just kept. adding onto it and now theres SO MUCH story surrounding just the whole AU i made for them oops

8. Does your s/i have any kind of powers?

OH HECK YEA THEY DO!!!

kojika: they have deer ears, a deer tail, and pointed teeths!! their ears give them heightened hearing which they can increase greatly when they focus their chakra (ninja magic) to their ears

chiharu: she has!!! wings!!! and her eyes give her this cool future vision along with a few other abilities >:3

reona: i’m undecided for her yet but her powers arent really awakened until some story stuff happens!

10. How many s/i's do you have? Do you use the same s/i for multiple f/os or make completely different ones?

oh no i have....... so many. i make so many S/Is its kind of an issue LOL. i got a bunch of pokemon S/Is lying around for example from my years and years of being into it.. ill sometimes use the same S/I for multiple F/Os but i usually like making new ones!!

14. Does your s/i get jealous easily?

tbh i have rlly bad jealously issues that im trying to get rid of dfnsdfbshd so id like to think none of them do!! theyre all confident in their relationships and trust their significant others completely :’3

I sent a message earlier but it must have been eaten! I wanted to say hi to Szayel and say I’m jealous of his pretty pink hair, but also ask- do you two ever show physical affection? What’s your go-to of showing that you care about Felix? :3c What trait of his do you think complements one of yours since being together?

Why hello there. I must thank you for the excellent job you did capturing all of the glamorous details my face has to offer. So kind of you to take notice of my beauty. Must we really bring Felix into this? Can we not continue this conversation as is? Fine.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. Felix is quite affectionate, both physically and verbally. He loves to put on the tough guy act around others, but I’ll have you know that he’s very loving at times. Sure, he’s still his normal, abrasive self even in private, but he’s more likely to soften up if it’s just the two of us. Felix is notorious for grabbing my hand and holding it or playing with it. He’s awkward when it comes to physical touch, but he has his own unique ways of expressing it in a fashion that is more natural and comfortable for him.

I let Felix know that he is a valuable assistant. He’s not as expendable as my  Fracciónes, and his presence in the lab is a welcome one. As a test subject he leaves something to be desired, seeing as he refuses to cooperate quietly, but that’s a complaint for another day.

Felix is not at all the scholarly type like I am. He’s more aggressive in his approach. More volatile and loud. It’s not my ideal approach, but he does offer insightful opinions and perspectives into matters thanks to his odd way of thinking. While it isn’t perfect, I will say I appreciate it.
