fun fact i had to completely flip everything around bc i realized the way the door is made it wouldve opened towards the stairs instead of the wall & i Didnt Like That (it has a knocker so i couldnt just flip the door bc then it would be on the inside). but its fine now i fixed it

i am considering walling off the second floor (& the fourth & maybe also the second?) & just leaving a little landing area with a door so the rooms can be more private for multi sim households... but the one ill actually be using is just for one sim lmao so. we will see

throws room hc’s bc i have writers block ficwise but still want to write something:

oogway

back in the valley, his room is sparse. there’s a mat that he sleeps on (bc i think the original idea was that he just didn’t like how it would gradually sink due to his weight), there’s a few shelves holding a few potted plants and theres a window situated in just a way that he’d have the sun on his back. he has a map on the wall (courtesy of mei) and sometimes he stares at it, trying to figure out where the island is in relation to china. he also keeps his drawings/personal notes on his life there hidden somewhere bc hes embarrassed by them. there’s a pile of blankets in the corner for the winter

post-bukesiyi, his room up at the palace is standard issue-- ricepaper walls, bed, dresser, etc. he’s brought all the plants and blankets up there, and the papers now have a place in the dresser. if hes in a Mood he sometimes uses the bed as a secondary table to draw stuff/make notes (which is really one and the same for him)

mei

kinda cluttered due to the soothsaying stuff she has around. theres an organized chaos thing going on with her stuff as shelves are packed to the brim with scrolls she managed to bargain down the price and jars of miscellaneous stuff. theres herbs hanging form the rafters and shen cant go in there without having something over his face bc of how sensitive he can be w certain plants. the only relatively neat thing would be her bed, which is immaculately neat

she keeps a little fortune telling cart in the corner. on a normal day, she lugs that out to do readings for people in the hub of the valley

shen

surprisingly neat and orderly, but at the same time the most likely to have the ancient chinese equivalent of having way too may cups in your room since you cant be bothered to fill your current cup/put them to the dishwashing area

his space doubles as an experimental area, with a table with several nicks from knives. on the table would be blueprints and also chemical experiments for a variety of things. like fireworks. it always smells like death in there and while he keeps his table immaculate, his bed is a mess

shifu

his room up in the palace is pretty spartan-- its essentially this, but with the addition of a dresser. im still somewhat attached to the idea that he wanted to take u wood carving bc of po shan, so he has a bunch of knobby, unfinished carvings tucked under his bed along with the rest of the tools required

ping shan

i’ve already talked about his room at length before, and not much has really changed!! i think he’d have a group photo (portrait paintings?) of everyone up on his dresser, and perhaps a landscape to brighten up a corner of the room. maybe he keeps a record of all the recipes he’s made from scratch somewhere

kai

once he moves up to the palace, his room is initially pretty bare. after a while, he starts collecting both scrolls and weapons-- nothing big, just short broadswords and the like and has a wall dedicated to both

one time oogway gifted him art and he hung it onto his wall. oogway cant live it down bc “the art is so old tAKE IT DOWN” and kai refuses to bc he is v impressed by his boyfriend’s artistic skills and also to tease him. that too

back at the panda village, her room is an utter mess. her room essentially tells her entire life story considering how much stuff is out. theres a whole bunch of flowers that are constantly in full bloom as a result of her practicing qi manipulation on them. bowls of food are in the corner of her room. theres a bunch of scrolls littered from the ancient chinese equivalent those dollar store romance novels to scrolls that actually talk about qi and the panda’s history

post-bukesiyi sequel, her room starts to be cleared up somewhat... at least to make way for new stuff. now there’s trinkets from places that she’s gone around to, as well as letters between her and mei. contents of said letters are mushy and full of love
