I'm making a separate post detailing his lore. Here's a quick basic rundown/synopsis for now.

Jay is roughly 17/18 during the main comics and pilots, like the guys, and 26/27 during the epilogue. They're the youngest and shortest of the group.

Jay is also trans!! He uses exclusively he/him during the main comics and pilot, but switches to primarily they/them in the epilogue though they're still cool with he/him, too.

I headcanon that the guys created the club sometime in middle school when they were around 12/13. Jay joined shortly after the club's formation and was given the role of secretary of video games.

Like the others, his love of video games started out as genuine innocent enjoyment and a desire to have fun with his friends, but turned into an unhealthy obsession pushed into being a gatekeeping snob. The type to cry "fake fan" if you haven't put 300+ hours into each and every game within a series. By the epilogue, they've mellowed out significantly and has turned around to trying to make games and provide resources for up and coming developers like themself. Redemption Arc type stuff.

Bit of an artist during the comics, and can't take any criticism either. Will either blow up in anger or burst into tears, depends on if he's on his period lol. He gets severely burned on his right arm (his dominant hand) after Bill burns the comic shop down. He's still able to move and use his arm, but not with as wide of a range of motion as before. Best comparison I can make (until I draw it) is Dunban's arm in Xenoblade Chronicles, but they can still grab/grip things decently well. After becoming disabled, Jay leans more into 3D modeling and 3D art since drawing is much more exhausting/painful.

Bill and Jay develop crushes on each other shortly after meeting. They eventually figure out each other's crushes, but refuse to admit it due to pure nervousness. However, as they become more toxic people, it turns more into hostility and aggression. Constantly getting into arguments and fighting. They make each other worse </3

At some point between Marathon Men and The Intervention, they do try to start dating when Jay points out how their constant bickering is bringing down the club. They decide to just suck it up, admit to each other's faces they like each other, and start dating. Worst mistake of their lives tbh.

After The Intervention, things kind of get a little better for not only them, but between the entire friend group. Arguments are a little less intense, they don't get kicked out of Bill's house as often, and they actually start acting like friends again.

But all of that crumbles when Bill tries to get a job at Joe's comic shop. He starts spiralling and undoing all of his progress with mending his friendships and relationship, and ultimately still causes the events of This Fan... This Monster!. The fire destroys not only the shop but any chance of Jay and Bill remaining together.

And then even more stuff between This Fan... This Monster! and the epilogue + post canon stuff that I still gotta write aaaaaaaa

Honestly, most of my F/OS, whether romantic or platonic I see them as not Cis, nevermind Straight. Its the general gist of it

To anyone who claims that the only reason some trans people are uncomfortable with trans headcanons for their F/os is internalized transphobia, that's not always the case.

My personal reason for being uncomfortable with it is because the people I see posting about certain F/Os being trans don't treat it like a headcanon, they call it canon and say that anyone who says otherwise is wrong. But in some worse cases, it's sometimes transphobes who even say this to bully the character and threaten bad things on said character to "change their mind about being trans", even if the character is cis. I saw comments like this over an androgynous Pokémon character, and it was disgusting. The character was a cis male, but a hater kept insisting he was a female and needed to stop playing men's sports and go back to the kitchen. It was gross.

I'm uncomfortable with those headcanons because I don't know where some of the people who post those headcanons stand. With some of my F/Os, it makes sense, but with most of them, it doesn't. It's fine if they treat it like a headcanon of their own, but my main issue is those who treat it as 100% fact that rules over anyone else's opinion.

Headcanon whatever you want. Just don't shove it down people's throats, and don't headcanon them as such just to bully the character in a transphobic way.

Kind of a drabble about adding Miu to my romantic f/os

I've never been so indecisive about adding a (romantic) f/o.

like. I even used to selfship with Wario (even though I never blogged about it. that was one of my earliest selfships).

but...

like...

nggh! on the one hand, Miu is mean, and gross. on the other hand, she's lonely and self-destructive, and I want to make sure she's alright. she's already our friend that we check up on a lot, and got Mikan and Shuichi and Kaede to check up on her too, and we all ended up peer pressuring her to stop turning to drugs or other self-destructive tendencies because she couldn't stop picturing our "sad little faces" (I was touched when Kaz told me she said that. I hadn't asked her to stop doing drugs, the topic makes me feel too awkward, but the others had and I guess with how worried we all were about her, it made her want to work on herself.) But she still seems lonely, and also jealous of a lot of her friends dating each other, especially me and Kaz and Tenko.

so uh, maybe we could fix her with kisses.

also, the chaotic potential of adding Miu to the group is hilarious. (in hindsight, the anon that asked me about adding Toko to the group was almost prophesizing 👀).

(this is so random) have you ever seen Defunctland: The Awful Wiggles Dark Ride?

I found myself thinking about me, Kaz, and Tenko bringing our three kids when they're all still little on this ride (let's pretend it's still in operation, or maybe it got abandoned but it's still there and Kazuichi could get it in working order. So could Miu tbh.)

I couldn't picture us riding this without Miu there as well. We would all enjoy it, mostly because of the kids (I feel like Miu would have the most childlike wonder about it and Kazuichi would still be rambling about the technical stuff an hour later. Especially if it was the broken version where the tvs or rooms would be on/off at the wrong times. Tenko would be the least likely to enjoy the ride itself (which is like me as well, but I've at least got a little nostalgia for the Wiggles), but she's got an excited toddler bouncing on her lap, so she's pretty focused on that.

So after imagining that, I ended up coming up with headcanons about Miu with our kids.

When the first baby (Ren) is born, Miu is the clingiest out of all of us to this baby and keeps saying they're "the spittin' image of me!" (meaning herself). This is false, the baby's bio parents are me and Kaz and they very much look like a combination of us two. Still, we know this is Miu's way of saying she adores this baby. We're not worried about her being unhealthily attached though; she's still pretty busy with invention ideas and always hands the baby back to one of us when she needs to go work on those, or when we ask her to (but only me, Kaz, and Tenko. She glares at anyone else who asks to hold the baby, lol.)

(Pregnancy, and specifically fictional trans woman pregnancy mentioned in next paragraph. Not sure if anyone needs that as a trigger warning, but just in case. I know pregnancy in general can bring up complicated feelings for people).

I was pregnant with the first baby and picked out the name Ren (who later came out as nonbinary). Tenko was pregnant with the second baby, a girl, and picked out the name Aimi. Miu was able to transfer the third pregnancy to herself and become one of the first pregnant trans women in the world (I feel like it is pretty in-character for her to not only try this but end up being successful. Let me dream okay?) She also had a baby girl. We all asked Miu first if she had a name in mind, but Miu didn't want to pick a name and likes most of the names we suggest anyway. Kazuichi picked the name Yoshi. So our kids are Ren, Aimi, and Yoshi.

Not sure when/if I'll draw fanart and write stories for all of this (maybe the Wiggles car ride though), I feel weird about selfshipping with Miu and Tenko even though I'm still writing the fanfic about just me and Kaz (and that fanfic will definitely take a while). But I'm holding myself to ridiculous standards. I can ship with them just because. I also worry about being unfair by focusing on Kazuichi the most, but I know it's okay to have a main f/o.

I'll start with the easy ones.

Octane[Apex]: Masc-Agender. He/it but is generally okay with anything but she/her/ella. He binds but is overall comfortable with his chest. Just does it to be more pallettable to his fans (and makes it harder for him to breathe. Makes the rush hit harder) [don't exercise in your binder/tape you fucks ily<3]

Bloodhound[Apex]: Cannonly nonbinary. They/Them exclusively. I feel like they [when casual] would lean feminine but be overall androgynous. (I have no givengender headcanons but I don't really care. I've drawn them both ways)

Now,,,, I'm definitely projecting with these ones but hey. You're on a selfship blog. What did you expect?

Tim[MarbleHornet]: Trans Man. Strictly He/him or [on occasion]They/Them. He started his transition right out of high school, getting top surgery a few months into Marble Hornets' original filming. He is stealth for the most part, but the mh crew knew [he explained everything due to him having to be out of commission after surgery. He doesn't plan to get bottom surgery simply cause he can't stand going to the hospital and the idea of needing to go more than he already has to makes him physically ill. Cost wise as well.

Higgs[Deathstranding]: Trans Man. Strictly He/him. Has both surgeries but found himself later in life. His transition only coming a few years before meeting Fragile. He is completely stealth except for Fragile knowing.

König[CoD]: Trans-Masc. He/They/It. He has only had breast reduction and is fine with some of his chest still being there. No plan for bottom surgery. He was on T for a while but got the reduction when he entered KorTac.

Personal Pride Stuff!

Since it's pride month I'd figure I'd share some headcanons and scenarios regarding my ships!

All my s/is are bi/panromantic and asexual since that is what I am in real life!

I can see all my f/os as AT LEAST bi since they don't get definitive canon sexualities

No matter what the AU or verse, my s/i is lucky enough to meet the equivalent of my IRL girlfriend some point. (This is cause my girlfriend is always sweet enough to let me talk her ear off about my f/os sources and stuff and if you chat with me for a bit I always bring up my girlfriend in someway 'cause she's awesome sooo of course the two would overlap in other verses)

With that said, there's always an instance of "This is my wife Rebecca, and she also has a girlfriend!" No matter the verse

My s/is were more nervous about coming out as ace to her f/os than she was saying she's bi/pan. But, of course, all parties are cool and accepting of this.

With that being said, the f/o who learned the most of my s/i coming out was Kaito. He wasn't ignorant, but he was older, and in Japan, such things weren't really discussed in adulthood.

The conversation they shared was rather sweet 'cause Kaito heard me venting to my friend after getting unsolicited pics... So he wanted a better understanding. (Also he was pissed that some loser was harassing his girl so when he then learned that doing so was crossing my boundaries more......... he was PISSED to say the least)

My s/i explained the general term of asexuality and then explained that in her case, she has experienced feelings of attraction like that but due to her past experiences and her conditions even the thought of doing something with someone she loves, trusts, and knows would never hurt her gives her too much fear and anxiety to ever really want to. So since she doesn't desire anything sexual that's why she identifies as ace.

All my f/os completely accepted and supported this decision since they love me and my well-being is what matters!

Cue a line of questioning like: "Really, no 'just try it with me?' 'I'm different 'I'll wait till you're ready??" When my f/os just shook their head, affirming it was my choice and they respect that, wide-eyed relief and a dramatic sigh of happiness escapes the lips of my s/is

My s/is will still openly discuss 'saucy topics' as if it's nothing and totally make the occasional 'out-of-the-closet' joke when the time and mood is right.

Not to mention they'll dress in a way that's considered 'sexy' because they want to, and even pull out 'alluring' aspects of her personality should the moment need it but it's all nothing but an act to her and she likes to perform!

When I came out as ace to Gladio, 2 things happened: I told him I could appreciate the aesthetics of his ass instead of thirsting over it, this earned her a bewildered look before she heard a hearty laugh. The second part of the convo was Gladio feeling an unknown sense of relief since he's had a lot of women just want him sexually and while he may have liked hook-ups in the past, he's happy that the woman he loves, loves him for more than just that.

ALL MY F/OS AND MY S/IS RESPECT TRANS RIGHTS, ARO/ACE RIGHTS, NONBINARY RIGHTS, AND WOULD DO EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO UPHOLD THOSE VALUES!

🌈 + ..I know this isn't technically how the game works, but, do you headcanon any of your F/Os to (and/or do any of your OCs) have the same gender and sexuality as you yourself?? I hope this is alright to ask, please feel free to ignore it if it isn't

its completely ok!! the majority of my ocs and f/os have some form of my own identity actually. i dont make alot of my characters or f/os asexual as I am, for some reason? but most of them are gay or trans in some way so i guess that counts

I’m gonna take a moment to gush/cry abt Kiryu so simping and trans talk under the cover

I can’t stop thinking about that clip with Kiryu talking with Ayaka about being trans, I’m just blown away cause, I know I’m stating the obvious, but most media ,and at least most that my f/os are from, have little to no mention of trans people existing, nevertheless supporting them. So to have Kiryu, my newest f/o without hesitation supporting a trans person, after just learning what they are nonetheless, just wells up so much emotion in me. 

Like yeah I headcanon basically all of my f/os as LGBT+ in some way or another, but Kiryu is the first that I can really REALLY see myself talking to and being unafraid to talk to because I know canonically he supports trans people and always strives to be understanding and respectful of others; even if he doesn’t fully understand at first he’s still going to be as supporting and loving as ever, and I can’t be more thankful for that.
