the genocide of palestine absolutely needs to end. there's something that keeps striking me weird about fellow americans making palestine their hard line for domestic politics. it feels egregiously performative, it feels like an extension of the United States cultural belief that we as a nation are the World Police and have a right, no, a duty to intervene anywhere we see fit. this militaristic and orientalist obsession with palestine plays neatly into pre-existing antisemitism, because americans on the whole find it more valuable to hate the Jew than to love the Arab. and that's another reason why it strikes me weird to see US citizens compromise domestic politics based on fanciful notions of the police state of America being used in their best interests rather than against it. Fuck that. You are asking the machine to suddenly reverse motion when it is comparatively easier and more meaningful to stop the running of the machine at all. This whole power system needs to be dismantled. It's disturbing to me to put foreign intervention on a pedestal, specifically in regards to US policy, because fundamentally the belief between the two sides is the same - "The United States is morally beholden to interfering with the political state of Eastern nations." The only disagreements are why and how, pure ideological fluff compared to imperial devastation.

This pressure should be placed upon the United Nations, not a single nation, not the political status of a single nation. So much of the United States power as a hegemonic entity comes from people just accepting that the US is a hegemonic entity! Stop playing ball! We need to protect the people of Palestine and we need to also disempower the imperial core! We can do both! WE CAN DO BOTH!!

I read a few times “They hate us because we are Jews” and I think that’s too short. They don’t hate Jews because they are Jews or Black people because of their skin color etc. They hate minorities because a few rich people spent a lot of money on propaganda which make these assholes believe that Jews, or Black people or any other minority, are evil incarnate. Who made antisemitism even greater than it was before? The Russian Tsar who owed lots of money to his Jewish creditors and faked documents too showcase how Jewish people plan to dominate the world or whatever. Which later got translated all over the world, helped spread the Nazi ideology and still makes idiots today believe that Jewish people are poisoning wells.

Whenever someone is telling you someone is evil, ask them who profits from people believing it.

There are a few individuals who profit off the hate and these dumb hateful people are so scared and disturbed they are willing to kill for it. Years ago, Germans said “Trump is paralleling Hitler” and “US are on a dangerous path to repeating our mistakes”.

I have people in the comments of people I am facebookfriends with who seriously believe that caravan from Honduras is an invasion force. Who believe the border police/military should shoot them. Meanwhile this murderer in Pittsburgh seriously believed that Jewish people wanted to bring immigrants/refugees in to ... I don’t know, replace the whiteys, I guess. The things they are scared off and which leads to these individuals to act murderous in the end, are so absurd.

But these rightwingers do live in their own parallel world. And their world is scary. It has nothing to do with reality, how most sane people see reality. It’s a dark fantasy world fueled by Fox News, bad experiences and their few friends approving of the dumb hate.

See, I KNOW I don’t know a lot about how the world as a whole functions. It’s a big place with many bolts influencing the whole and each other.

For right wingers... they know that there is a bolt called “The Jews” and this bolt is evil. Or it’s black, Trans, gay, hispanic, whatever group it is, it’s evil. There is a bolt in the machine of the world that is not like them, they don’t know many, if at all, members of the group and someone told them this bolt would destroy the whole machine if they don’t destroy it first.

I got into a little smalltalk while grocery shopping with the lady behind me at the checkout line. And it ended with her seriously believing the southern Europeans, Italians, Spanish, Greeks, are lazy compared to us. What a bitch. What a dumb bitch. She left before I could find a more appropiate response, other than that I don’t agree.

When I watched the last Episode of Z Nation, I wanted to ask the fearmongers who told them to fear the talkers, who started to agitate them. Maybe I am being dumb and also  want someone to blame, someone who ignites the fear and hate.

The truth is, some people don’t need to be scared to hate. Don’t need to be told about scary things to hate. And that scares me the most.

Three days ago Black people were destroying America, Yesterday a caravan  of hungry and exhausted Hondurans and Mexicans became an invasion force and today Jewish people who are helping refugees try to destroy America by helping these people.

Brasil is voting for a despot, UK got their brexit, Germany still got AFD, Austria got their Burschenschaften controlling their government, and so forth.

For any sane person with some form of heart... these are scary times.

For me, I know I won’t be a target for a while. I am just female and a leftist, but not a leftist in the public eye. It be a while down the road of fascism before I will be a victim. First they go for any non-white looking person, refugees, then my gay friends. Then for me.

But if they seize power here, they will come for me. Even if I would shut my mouth, which I can’t. They would come for simply not participating.

The last few days I read the HONY page, where stories of survivors and rescuers from the Rwandan genocide told their stories. It happened in the 90s and I remember that I didn’t want to know more about this back then. Because Africa was far away and I was a child of 12 years. I think I didn’t even hear of it until later tbh. But it’s scary how easy it came for the murderers to leave their humanity behind. And how scary it was for the rescuers and survivors to live through this. To see death up close and the institutions, the soldiers, the police participating in the genocide.

If it comes down to it, I know I will try my best to help. I won’t rat anyone out and given the chance I hope I have the strength to help.

But I don’t want that it even comes to that. I don’t want these scared people to flip the fuck out and march the streets with guns and knifes hunting anyone not white enough.

You may think, it won’t come to that. But as a German, let me tell you, my ancestors didn’t think it would come to that either. Some Jewish people voted for Hitler, because they didn’t believe he would seriously be that murderous. Many Rwandans didn’t think it would happen, same in Jugoslavia.

The signs point to bad things. Better believe it is coming, prepare for it. Help to avert it. VOTE at the very very least. Know your neighbours. Try to not be scared of your neighbour, especially if they don’t share your same traits.

And yes, at the end of every tunnel is light. We will get out of this. One of my favourite songs goes like this “If you’re going through hell, keep going”.
