 “Did you eat today?~☆” Kanata's unwavering gaze was filled with joy, a constant display of the love and adoration that he held in his heart. His eyes overflowed with pure affection, a reflection of his deep admiration for you. 

As you looked at the lyrics you had promised to give Chiaki for Ryusetai's upcoming album on the table in front of you, you shook your head in disagreement. "I've worked really hard trying to write this, but time just flew by and now my work feels pointless."  Your tone suggested tiredness and a slight hint of annoyance.

“I bet it isn’t that bad Y/N.” Kanata reached for the paper before your hand quickly stopped him. “Don’t.” Your voice was stern as you gave him a glare.

For a brief moment, Kanata's eyes opened wider in surprise. However, this was soon replaced by his usual calm and collected expression, “I’m sure it’s not that bad~☆” 

You couldn't help but sigh and couldn't stop staring at his face, he was just so…Kanata that It was impossible to say no. So, you gave him the paper and your resistance melted away like snow in the sun. “Just…..don’t think of the lyrics too hard.” 

Kanata took the paper and looked at it, and his eyes caught the attention of the lyrics:

That was the name of your best friend and savior.

You were often bullied as a child.

It was just light teasing at first, but slowly, over time, they've turned to picking on you, hiding your textbooks, writing mean things on your table, throwing your backpack somewhere—you know, the typical things bullies do like in those films. But it was nothing too extreme.

You didn't mind much at first; after all, you guys were just kids; they would get tired of it eventually, right?

You were wrong.

Since you never stood up for yourself, they just assumed what they were doing was "right." Their behavior was never corrected, and so it lasted for a long time—that is, until he came. Chiaki Morisawa.

He opened your eyes.

It made you realize that what those people were doing to you was wrong and unjust.

It happened on a particularly cold day. You were at the park playing by the swings when your bullies came and decided to ruin your day.

You ignored them, and they, in turn, pestered you more.

One of them, certainly not liking the fact that you were ignoring them, picked up a nearby rock and threw it at you.

Not expecting such a thing to occur, you fell off the swing, and your head is now bleeding.

'It hurts', you think, feeling tears starting to well up.

"ℂ𝕣𝕪𝕓𝕒𝕓𝕪!" They laughed.

They laughed and laughed, their voices ringing, echoing inside your head.

Their laughter was interrupted when a rock came flying out of nowhere and almost hit one of them in the head.

Turning your guys' attention to the person who presumably threw the rock, there stood a timid looking child with brown hair and matching colored eyes.

"G-Go away before I call the cops!"

"T-Then..I'll tell your parents!" The brown-haired child threatened.

Bully 3 laughs, "ᴀꜱ ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴏᴜʀ ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛꜱ!"

Hearing this, the timid look he had immediately went away and was replaced with a courageous, confident look. "Hehe~.. Your house is the red one right down that street, isn't it?" He points to the street where the bully currently lives.

"I can run there and tell your parents about the bad things you guys are doing to them!"

"𝖲-𝖲𝗁𝗂𝗍! 𝖫𝖾𝗍'𝗌 𝗋𝗎𝗇!"

Bully 2 gasps, "[𝙱𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚢 1] 𝚍-𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚜𝚊𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚍 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍-"

And with that, Bully 3 grabs Bully 2's hand and runs after Bully 1.

You and your brave hero watched as the three fled to somewhere far, far away. Probably going somewhere where their parents won't be able to easily find them should you and the brown-haired kid tattle on them.

"Hey, are you alright? I mean, I know you aren't, but you know..Ah! That's right, my name is Morisawa Chiaki." He reaches out a hand and smiles.

You accept his hand and stand up. "Morisawa..L/N Y/N."

"Hm? Sorry?"

"L/N Y/N, that's my name."

"Ah, you have quite the beautiful name, L/N-san."

"Thank you, you too."

The awkward silence was clearly getting to you both.

"W-Well, uhm, I'll get going first, L/N-san."

"By-" Chiaki sneezes, snot now dripping down his nose.

He stood there frozen, clearly embarrassed.

You giggle at the boy. "Here," pulling out your handkerchief, you begin to wipe his nose. "You can have this for now."

"Thank you.." He was back to looking timid.

Seeing him go back into his shell, you bring the subject from earlier back. "I'll see you around then, Morisawa-san."

"Yeah! I'll see you around L/N-san."

"Oh, wait!" You reach out for his arm. "You don't have to call me with honorifics; just L/N or Y/N is fine."

"Hmm..then..you can also just call me Chiaki, Y/N."

"Chiaki..Yeah, sure!"

And with that, it marked your guys' first encounter, with many more to come in the future.

╰┈➤ The following is a "short" It's not but it was supposed to be extension. And the timeline will start a day before Chiaki attends Yumenosaki Academy.

During the years you've spent with Chiaki, you've come to know about how he was sickly and how a simple weather change could render him ill.

Whenever he got sick during those times, you would nurse him back to health; he even proclaimed that you must have healing powers due to how fast you always managed to "heal" him.

He also has the habit of reading something before going to sleep, something you've learned whenever you had sleepovers.

He was your best friend and savior. He may not know it himself, but he was a hero. He appeared when you needed him most and saved you from the darkness, just like the shows he loved to watch.

He was like a fire—no, a sun—he always shone so bright. Spreading his light to every inch and every corner of the world

Or, well, that's what he was like to you, but in reality, he hasn't shined upon every inch, corner, or crevice of the world. But you believe that he'll be able to do it. In fact, it may very well happen soon.

"Y/N."

"Go."

"But,-"

"Just go already, Chiaki~ You'll be late at this rate."

The energetic man held onto you, refusing to let go.

"..Fine... Reluctantly, he let go of his hold on you. "You're sure you'll be alright?"

"I'll be fine, Chiaki."

"Besides, it's only the first day anyway. Nothing eventful happens on first days."

"Right.." He looks at you suspiciously, obviously not buying the "Nothing eventful happens on first days."

"The one we should focus on is you, y'know. After all, you're going to attend the Yumenosaki Private Academy. THAT school."

"I should be the one asking you if you'll be fine. Sooo, do you think you can survive the first week?"

"Nevermind the first week, Y/N, I don't think I'll be able to survive a day in there!" The look he has right now can only be explained in three words: puppy dog eyes.

"And why is that, hm?"

"Because you won't be there!" He exclaims as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

You chuckle. "Now, now, it'll be alright. You'll survive just fine without me." You pat his head. "It's not like I'm your heart or something."

"You may not be my heart, but you are in my heart," he mutters.

"Hm? What'd you say?" You question.

"Nothing!" He answers bashfully.

"Hmm..Alright~" You pat his head again and give him a little push. "Now go. You really will be late if you stay here any further."

"Oh, right!" He exclaims. It seems he's forgotten why he was prolonging his stay and clinging to you.

He bids farewell and starts running towards Yumenosaki, stopping a bit to look back at you. Noticing his stare, you wave him goodbye.

'..I didn't expect to get out this late..'

Chiaki stares at the late afternoon sky. 'I hope I didn't keep Y/N waiting for too long'

I start walking, or rather, sprinting, towards Y/N's school. It's getting late, and the streets are dangerous after all.

If anything happens to them, I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive myself for not being by their side.

Once there, I stop to take a short breather.

Glancing around, I spot a familiar figure curled up in a corner.

"Hey! Y/N!" I jog up towards them. "Sorry, did you wait long?"

"I lost track of time, and before I knew it, bam! The sun was already beginning to set!"

Noticing your strange silence, he slowly approaches you, crouching down and asking, "Are you alright?"

You still remain silent.

"Hey, did something—no, did someone bother you while I was gone?" His voice was laced with concern, and his pitch was a bit higher than normal.

The world seems to be frozen. You then break the silence and utter, "I'm fine, Chiaki. Sorry, just a bit tired from today." You sniffle at the end of the sentence and try to cover it up by clearing your throat, although you doubt you'd be able to fool him anyway.

"You.." His eyes slightly widen. "Who did it!?" He grabs you by the shoulders with a bit more force than he wanted.

You wince from the force, and he loses his hold a bit. "Sorry," he mutters.

Lifting your head a bit, you say, "I'm really fine, Chiaki. There's no need to worry. I just..tripped."

"Tripped? Y/N, a little stumble wouldn't cause injuries like these." He eyes you from top to bottom.

"I-I'm really, really fine. C'mon, let's just go home. The moon is coming up." You push past him and start walking.

"Y/N!" He shouts. Grumbling, he jogs up to your side.

Ever since that day, you always ended up with new bruises every day and came up with all kinds of excuses as to how you got them.

Chiaki didn't seem to believe any of them, so you tried to hide them as best as you could.

You started learning more about makeup and concealing the bruises in it. While it didn't make it any better, it did hide it from prying eyes. You also wore long-sleeved clothing whenever you failed to completely cover them up.

It was alright, you thought. You'd be fine. They'd realize how childish they were acting and stop. Soon. They'll stop soon.

You don't know how long it's been since you cut off contact with him. You didn't want him to witness your current state, afraid of what he'd think of you. And so, you avoided him, changing your route home, ignoring his calls and messages, and pretending you weren't home whenever he'd come by.

You even went as far as climbing over your school's walls just to avoid him when he'd try to catch you leaving school premises.

You were on your way home when suddenly, someone tackled you from behind.

"Y/N!" That voice. You could never forget it. It was his voice.

Everything from that point on was like a blur. By the time you came back to your senses, you were back home cuddled up with him, his shirt still wet with your tears and snot.

You somewhat recall telling him about the things you've experienced over the past few months. Sniffling and hiccuping between sentences

You look up at his sleeping face. Somehow, you feel like you've gotten stronger.

Taking Chiaki's advice, you decided to skip school for a while to recuperate both your physical and mental health.

While he couldn't stay with you 24/7, he did make sure to drop by whenever he could. His presence was like a light. As cringey as it may sound, perhaps he was the light at the end of the tunnel.

After getting a call about your missing attendance, you decided that maybe it's time to return. Bracing yourself, you opened the door that led you outside your home. Taking a deep breath, you stepped your foot out.

While walking down the halls, you spot your bullies: Tabitha, the so-called leader; Gracie, the minion; and Daphne, the silent observer, or, I suppose, harassers, is a better word for what they did.

You decide to keep your head down, hoping that they won't notice you. "Phweeee~ Is that L/N Y/N?" Lara whistles.

"Oh, pfft, you're right! How've you been, loser?" Tabitha sneers.

You kept your head down, allowing them to say whatever they wanted. You were about to walk away when his face and his words flashed through your mind.

You stopped your steps and turned around to face them.

"What? Got something to say?" said Tabitha as she signaled Gracie to hold you down.

The crowd around you started murmuring and staring; their stares were suffocating.

Daphne, without saying a word, forced everyone to disperse. While you were somewhat thankful, you doubt she did it for your sake. Daphne was always watching; she wouldn't participate unless asked, or rather, ordered. She was a somewhat fearful figure, and it's only due to her influence that Tabitha and Gracie can freely do whatever they want.

It frustrated you how Daphne could've stopped everything without even lifting a finger, but she just watched. Perhaps she was secretly a sadist or just lacked empathy.

Whatever, you will not be bothered to care about any of them anymore.

Finally raising your head, you digged your heel into Gracie's foot and broke free of her hold. 'Huh, was she always this weak? I swore her hold was stronger'

Gracie jumps a bit in pain, holding her foot. "How dare you!?" She attempts to poorly slap you, but you kick her in the kneecaps, and she tumbles over forward, hitting her face in the landing. "Ouch," you mutter.

"Tabitha, can you just stop this childish act already? I'm honestly embarrassed for you."

"We're already in high school, yet you still act like a middle schooler." You sighed.

"W-Wha..Who do you think you are to be saying that to me, huh?!" She raises her hand, preparing to hit you.

As Tabitha swung her fist, you swiftly grabbed her arm and deftly flipped her over your shoulder.

'Good thing I did those self-defense lessons with Chiaki..' You thought, panicking on the inside while remaining unbothered outside.

"Oww!" Tabitha shrieked.

"Tabitha! Are you alright!?!" Gracie rushes, or well, crawls, to her side. You stare at Gracie, dumbfounded by how she still can't stand up. You swear, you didn't even hit her that hard.

You expected Daphne to do something next, but when you look at her, she's just there, staring and standing as still as a statue.

You sweat dropped, hoping she could focus on something else instead, but she was just staring at you.

Concluding that she won't do anything but stare, you grab your bag, which you accidentally dropped when Grace held you, and start heading towards the principal's office.

You knew that if you went to the teacher's or any other staff, they would just ignore you, as they're too afraid to go against Tabitha's group, or that's what people say, but the one they're truly afraid of is Daphne.

Stopping in front of the door, you take a deep breath and knock three times. You wait for a response. Hearing a "Come in." through the door, you slowly push open the door.

"What brings you here this early? Classes are about to start."

"I would like to file a bullying-no-harassment complaint."

She widens her eyes upon hearing what you say.

"Pardon?"

"I said I would like to file a case of harassment."

"I heard you the first time, Ms. L/N..Ahem, would you mind telling me all the details? And I mean all, don't leave a single detail out."

today’s your boyfriend birthday and it’s your first one you celebrate together as a couple, so you’ve planned a surprise celebration for the two of you in your place. and in order to not ruin the fun, you decide to pretend that you forgot all about it. which won't be an easy task, but you want to make sure that chiaki’s totally surprised and does not suspect anything.

you've already had plans to hang out at chiaki's place to see a new tokusatsu show together. you see, you haven't been that interested in watching any tokusatsu shows before, but after being in a relationship with chiaki for almost a year now you've eventually come to like them.

“good morning, y/n!” he opens the door for you and greets you in his usual enthusiastic voice as he wraps his arms around you in a tight hug, you giggle and hug him back as you securely lock your arms around his neck. he breaks the hug and looks at you eagerly as if he’s waiting for something to happen, but you only stare at him in silence.

he furrows his eyebrows in confusion, and proceeds to ask you.

“don’t you have anything special to say to me today?” of course you know he’s waiting for you to wish him a happy birthday and hand him a gift. your tongue almost slips, but you barely hold it together at the last minute.

“no? why do you ask?” you try your hardest to feign ignorance, and it gets even harder when chiaki’s head droops and tells you to ignore it. you feel bad about tricking him, but you remind yourself that it'll be worth it later.

the rest of the day goes by normally. you watch the tokusatsu show while the two of you are cuddling on his couch, enjoying your company until it's night already which means it's time to walk you back home.

"i had a lot of fun today!" you cheerfully inform chiaki as you stop at the entrance of your apartment, to which he only nods in silence. he's still upset because you haven't wished him a happy birthday and the day's almost over. 'have you really forgotten about such important occasion?' is what he thinks.

you notice the hint of sadness and disappointment in his eyes, which breaks your heart. you're not used to seeing chiaki look so down like that.

"can you come in for a second?" you cut his train of thoughts short as you gently invite him in. to which he agrees as he follows you inside.

"it's quite dark in here." chiaki informs you the moment he sets foot inside your place.

"just a second chi-kun, i'm turning the lights on." you reply as you slowly turn on all the lights, and you hear a loud gasp coming from your boyfriend's lips when his eyes are greeted with the surprise setup you've prepared prior. his reaction was so worth the wait.

"did you have all of this prepared for me?" he's shocked to say the least. he's never dreamt of having anything like that, and it brings him immense amount of joy seeing that his girlfriend is the one behind this amazing surprise.

"of course, you really thought i would forget about my boyfriend's birthday like that?" you reply as you stand on your tippy toes and give him a soft peck on his cheek before handing him the gift you've gotten for him, one tokusatsu figurine that he's been eyeing for some time now. you watch him fondly as he instantly beams as he picks it up from you.

"i love you, y/n. you're the best!" chiaki kisses your forehead and pulls you in a tight hug before you break the embrace and your eyes meet his beautiful brown ones in an affectionate gaze, your arms still wrapped around his torso while his are wrapped around your waist firmly.

"i love you too, chi-kun. and happy birthday! thank you for being born, hero." you coo as chiaki's soft smile starts to form. you spend the rest of the night together, celebrating with your beloved boyfriend.

• He would give his undivided attention if you decide to vent as you like to him and he's totally going to give you a firm hug, letting you know that you have his support wholly. He hopes he can just blast your stress out by the hug he give his all for, but he knows better it's not that simple.
