Hiiiiii! lol I am glad that we are taste compatible??? Also thank you??? Okay, here's my favorites from last year, vaguely in order of when I watched them, NOT ranked:

Willow, first and only season rip (okay most of this season aired in 2022 but i only caught up in time for the last two episodes which aired in 2023 so it counts! i had so much fun with this show and disney fucked them over so bad that it can now only be watched by piracy. i love you show and hope you come back someday somehow.)

Poker Face, first season (what a fun conceit for a show, i just had a great time every week. dream natasha lyonne role.)

The Great, third and final season rip* (i thought this was a beautiful season of television. beautifully acted and written. i'm not actually mad about this cancellation personally. i think it ended in a really cool place. yes, they probably could have done really interesting things with a fourth season, but i didn't *need* it. love love love.)

Barry's, fourth and final season (genius. showstopping. insanity-inducing.)

Mrs. Davis, first and only season (weird lapsed catholic shit featuring intense AI/capitalism skepticism starring betty gilpin? made for me.)

Reservation Dogs, third and final season (went out on such a high note. a privilege to watch)

The Afterparty, second and final season rip (this show needed one more season, and it was set up so perfectly for it so i'm sad. i had a GREAT time though)

Revenant, first (and only?) season (kim tae-ri, our generation's best actor. quote me on it.)

The Newsreader, second season (i actually watched both seasons this year and i loooooooove it. @ followers who maybe came here for hacf, watch this because i feel like you'll love it :))

Fargo, fifth season (midwest niceTM family meets jaded centuries-old sineater? yes. noah hawley writes good. that covers it.)

13. Saddest death scene? 

I’ve cried at a lot of death scenes... but at the end of the day I have to think about the death scene that hit me the hardest at the time... and it was probably when I was  little kid and I watched that cancer patient die in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S... I mean I was like 9 years old and at the time, it seemed very profound.

Now... looking back on it, I fully acknowledge that that film is stupid and absolutely makes no sense and it’s not something I would ever want to watch again. But when I was 9... I thought it was the height of cinema and that moment was so deeply tragic. And I don’t think I can ever recapture that, so that’s what we’re going with.

83. Name a movie that made you go “wow” after watching it? 

I’m very easily impressed tbf, but one that comes to mind is Klaus (2019), I found the animation just so beautiful, it was definitely making me go “wow” lol.

80. An overrated movie? 

I was never a big fan of the first Taken movie.

53. Favourite actress?

I follow a lot of actresses honestly... like there are a lot of up-and-comers I’m rooting for but I don’t know if they necessarily “count” since they haven’t been in a lot of stuff yet, for them to become my favorite actresses. So in terms of like... overall filmography... I really enjoy Catherine Frot! She’s been in a lot of films I really like and I definitely look forward to new work from her.

24. A show that makes your cringe? 

Vikings. Not that surprising lmfao, don’t think it needs an explanation.

Hi!!!! Yeah sure, here are my favorite seasons of television from this year, NOT RANKED, uh just vaguely in order of release <3

Search Party's fifth and final season. I loved this show from start to finish and I loved that it ended on the absolute most bananas note possible. Truly deranged and hilarious. I love this show forever.

Severance's first season. This show was such a surprise! An original, compelling story in the year 2022! I love when shows lean into being weird for weirdness sake. And that season finale!

The Afterparty's first season. I love to have fun! I love a murder comedy! Episode three "Yasper" is probably the most fun episode of television released this year in my humble opinion. Just a low-stakes murdery good time.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One. This show made me feel SO many emotions. No other show this year made me cry this much lol. Kim Tae-ri in anything is perfect, and her performance in this was so full of heart it makes me want to weep just typing this. But also crucially it was very fun too! I love this show INCLUDING the way it ended! (many people hated the ending lol but not me <3)

Barry's third season. Bill Hader needs help! Why did he write this show! To make us have a weekly nervous breakdown!? Idk man this show is simply genius. Another murder comedy btw. Third one on the list so far lol

Better Call Saul's sixth and final season. TELEVISION! Don't know what else to say. Everyone involved is a master at their craft. Genius.

Russian Doll's second season. Was skeptical that the second of the season of this show could come anywhere near as good as the first, but it was incredible! This season was very beautifully done and handled its heavy message with great wit and just the right amount of levity.

Bad Sisters' first season. Four sisters uniting to attempt to murder their other beloved sister's atrocious prick husband? Sign me up! A perfect season of television! Do we need a season two? Certainly not. Will I watch it with every intention of loving it? Absolutely I will. Garvey sisters you have my heart <3 Could we categorize this as a murder comedy? Maybe!

Andor's first season. I can't believe this show exists! I can't believe Disney allowed this to air. Exceeded every expectation I had by a mile. Incredible.

Interview with the Vampire's first season. This show was made for me. Literally everything I love in a story. Campy lyrical murder dramedy of my dreams. The writing, the acting, the costumes. I love when it's clear that every person involved in the making of a thing puts their all into it and cares so much about it.

It is genuinely SO good! For me it is the most interesting and exciting thing airing right now. They've really achieved a perfect balance of dark drama with camp comedy, it's so compelling. And the acting! The ACTING!

But basically I think if you're generally into all of the weird dark comedy shows that I post about then you'll love it lol
