summary; reader is an incoming sophomore with a mutual crush on morgan. while in the photo booth, the pair discovers their feelings for each other are reciprocated. reader is never described physically, no use of y/n or oc. if you do not like the idea, do not read, nobody is forcing you!! the kiss is short, and mentioned only for a second.

although morgan was considered aubrey’s freshman, you treated her as your own. with you knowing what it felt like to be the freshman rookie of the uconn dance team just months prior, you tried your best to make her feel welcome. the team majority of the team were your friends. they were your chosen family, while the girls on the dance team made you feel more like an awkward coworker. this summer nearly every day you spent hanging out with the girls from the basketball team, the addition of morgan made you want to hang out that much more often. the curly haired girl was truly the whole package, she’s tall, gorgeous, ambitious, just the right amount of competitive, and you swear everyday you’ve never laughed so much until you met her. 

paige was the first to notice the spark between you and morgan. she shared her finds with azzi, and azzi agreed that you were both too oblivious to ever notice anything. you just needed a little… push. azzi talked morgan up to you everyday, while paige just threw out statements and “questions” about you to morgan.

“isn’t y/n so pretty?” 

morgan found it awfully odd that paige was complimenting you not even to your face, especially while she was very obviously with azzi. but she chalked it up to just paige being paige. after time, you both came to the realization that you did like each other, not even realizing that was the older girls plan. the entire team sat and watched as morgan pined over you, and as you slipped “morgie” into every conversation with the girl. nothing was ever discussed between you guys, it just became a well known fact that you were hopelessly in love and were never going to admit it. 

today was a day that’d been planned for a while, a couple of the girls were going to arcade, and they obviously included you. taking mutiple cars, you all piled in and drove to the arcade + bar. after arrival, the group headed to the bar. with them being the only old enough to drink, paige and azzi ordered a shirley temple while everyone else ordered lemonade. filling up several cards with chips, you all split into groups. aubrey being with her girlfriend that day left only eight in total. this was the perfect amount. jana and yanna, azzi and paige, ice and kk, meaning you’d be with morgan. 

the two of you played a couple games here and there. your favorite was the basketball one where you claimed you could very easily beat her, and 70% of the time you did. with some more strolling around the arcade, you and the taller girl found a photo booth.

“didn’t know this would be here,” you say.

“d’you want to do it? it’d be cute.” the younger girl asked.

“mhm!” you replied and nodded your head eagerly. truth be told, you adored photo booths. back at your dorm you kept pictures from going to them with friends on multiple occasions. 

the two of you walked in, and sat down. unbeknownst to both of you that her teammates had found you and were outside of the booth ready to go. the first picture was taken, a cute photo of just you smiling. seconds later the next was taken, without even having time to think about your next pose, you placed your lips softly on morgan’s cheek just as the timer went off. you didn’t plan on it in the moment, but it wasn’t anything you hadn’t thought about doing. the third photo was of you both looking at each other, a look of shock and realization that the pining was mutual. the fourth and final picture was a kiss, soft and sweet. the kiss was quick, but something about the way your lips found each other felt instinctive. the machine rang out the words “all done” and you headed to pick up the pictures. outside of where the photos would be dispensed from, three of the older girls were standing watching you. almost immediately morgan grabbed the two strips and handed them to you.

“will you hold on to these?” morgan asked.

“of course morgie! wouldn’t want to lose them.” you giggled, feeling like a schoolgirl having her first crush.

“no, no, wouldn’t want to lose them.” she said, her cheeks clearly very flushed.

“can i see the pictures?” jana asked. “we have time to kill, kk and ice are still going head on in dance dance revolution.”

diverting away from the topic, you suggest the six of you just go watch the two girls dance. ice was clearly beating kk, which resulted in kk whining about it the entire way back to the car. azzi and paige both threw one arm around kk, shielding her away from ice’s torment. 

the car ride home was awkward to say the least. you were stuck with jana driving and a very tipsy paige and azzi in the backseat. the whole way back you held your purse tightly in your arms, as to not reveal what’d happened in the photo booth. how would the team react to knowing you this? did morgan really like you back? were you a “thing” now? despite the fear you felt of what was to come, you couldn’t help but feel giddy. your face stayed frozen in the biggest smile. 

“what’s got you all giggly?” jana asked.

“the photo booth jana!” azzi said excitedly, she was definitely feeling the pitcher her and paige had shared. 

“oh shut up! nothing happened in the photo booth..” 

“alright, then why are you clutching your purse for dear life.. we know the pictures are in there, i just want to see!” jana pleaded, repeating her earlier request. 

“no jana, we just.. captured the moment. let us be.”
