What are some of your headcanons for Sreng and Morfis since the game refuses to give any lore about them
the game gives us way too little information so here‘s what I get from Sreng and Morfis;
Sreng
a land chaotically held together by clans and bandits, with hot climate and rocky desert
sreng people‘s passion: fighting for territory within. they constantly battle for territory and supremacy (or for battle’s sake)
most of the best weaponsmithing in the world can be found in Sreng. Obviously Zoltan, the legendary weaponsmith comes from Sreng
the people of Sreng either are extremely tough and fearless warriors living by a strict code within the clans or they‘re some of the most devious bastard snakes you can meet. anyhow lots of killing over here
Sreng harbors the highest population of beasts and monsters in the world. in some parts of Sreng beasts and monsters are worshipped as holy creatures. Some very few courageous ones are even able to ride those monsters and in some clans this is also a qualification test to select their clan leader
the men of Sreng may be strong and scary as hell, but the women of Sreng could just as well serve as leaders. Those women are metal af and can easily take on most of the male’s work as well. women are definitely on a par with men
there‘s many mineral ressources in Sreng. also a big reason why the clans always fight for territory. they‘re especially rich in iron, copper, fossil umbral steel, salt around the borders and rare local gemstones
Morfis
a city-state/metropolis known as the ‚city of illusion‘ surrounded by a vast sand desert
you‘ll have a hard time traveling there unprepared, because you‘d lose yourself in the desert and wander around forever without getting to the city. It‘s hidden behind an ‚illusion‘ of desert, and without proper guidance you would hardly find the entrance. think Fata Morgana but reversed if that even makes sense
it doesn’t show much of itself to the rest of the world, but that metropolis is actually wealthy as hell. very far developed and full of magic, and canonically has a great economy due to its trading routes if I‘m correct. and some of the most beautiful and mystical women inhabit that land. I like to compare those to the stereotypical ‚Circassian beauties‘ of our world
most of the gold that exists in the world originates from Morfis
below all the brilliance there‘s also a shady side to it. They have a slavery culture and some powerful people undertake human trafficking (which btw Carina‘s mother fell victim to and is how she came to Fodlan. she was meant to be sold to a group of people I can’t name yet and somehow got away but pshhhtt)
I could come up with more headcanons if I had more time. But please let me know what you have in mind, too!

I actually have a whole thing in my 3H worldbuilding where some of Morfisian "magic" is actually remnants of advanced tech from the past and that's why they're so secretive about it. At some point Almyra pulls off a heist on Morfis to grab their secret advanced tech™ to use for themselves, and the result is guns. Like not modern automatic guns but still, guns.
So when Almyra sends auxiliary troops to Fódlan in VW, they also send guns with the troops, and while the guns are still too expensive to supply to everyone, the upper military leadership does get a taste of their power, and when trade opens with Almyra after the war one of the first things Byleth does is buy more guns. The idea is to replace Relics with something both powerful and accessible; along the way people like Hanneman are involved with further refining it for wider use.
But what does Byleth specifically use all these guns for, you may ask. Well obviously they make firing squads to execute separatist movement rebels with. No better way to show your authority and legitimacy than to demonstrate that the state is plenty powerful even without Crests and Relics!

thought i had last night, put on the fandom wiki, and am now verbalizing on tumblr: is Morfis named for the irish mythological druid Morfesa, one of the four teachers of the Tuatha De Danann in the four cities in the north of the world? this thought brought on by looking at Cutting Room Floor and seeing Morfis spelled as Morfess

Its really interesting to me that fodlan seems to be really technologically behind and just makes up for it with heros relics. juding by the books in the shadow library and the fact that fodlan is hostile or cut off to any neighboring countries they arent really in a place to be sharing any knowlege. Since things like oil and printing presses were mentioned being banned it would be safe to assume they exist somewhere else outside of fodlan. and we don't even know how long ago the church banned banned those things either for all we know by the time the events in the game take place people outside of fodlan could have basic electricity and machines or even full blown modern technology and no one would know

Guess who finally got hooked on Stardew Valley after seven years and a healthy amount of mods / straight up cheating
(I’d say that I’m an adult with limited amounts of time and a stressful job but fuck that, actually. Cheating is beautiful and true)
She’s like me for real. Romancing the emotionally unavailable alcoholic and the one thing she can cook is fried eggs (found the soup in the trash :D).

thinking maybe i was going somewhere when i wrote a note in my isidora fic speculating that maybe one of the reasons her foil relationship with claude works is bc of how interesting it is to look at them in terms of how the both of them are treated differently as these supposed ‘foreign’ entities within fodlan n how that could be analysed through a more meta political lens of the difference in perception when a racialised person is primarily seen as an invading threat vs when a racialised person is primarily seen as a source of extraction of resources/labour
#x#i gave up on pretending this wasn’t n oc canon thing lol#thinking so hard abt a thread i read on claude n his treatment by other characters in the context of the political surveillance of muslims#in real life and then i saw something referencing how latin america has historically been obviously used for both resource extraction but#also as the source for bodies to perform the unskilled labour white USAmericans don’t want to or whatever#and how that aligned in a rather interesting way with how i explained isidora’s in story justification for why HER family was allowed to#remain in such an otherwise closed off/isolated continent#and it’s because they were the key for providing a trade relation with morfis who’s resources eventually came to be greatly valued in fodlan#and THATS why isidora and her family have been ‘permitted’ to remain stewards of the land. they’re tolerated solely for what resources they#bring into the continent#and on a far more small scale/symbolic level isidora herself takes a role in combat that’s meant to be very gruelling as a frontline tank#archetype who’s meant to absorb most of the dmg for her teammates. something which while not Exactly the same could arguably be an analogy#for hard labour/her body being used as a shield for the rest of her team#AUGH…. it sorta clicked into place so neatly i’m kinda. :33333 abt it. omg#sorry for being insane but this is just a cool revelation to me and i’ve been rotating it in my head for a while#anyways now i gotta go to a meeting with a tutor without a fully planned essay structure LOL whoops#isa

"Ciutat Podrida" de La Banda Trapera del Río, en mi putrefacta opinión el gran himno del punk rock original de más abajo de los Pirineos, de nuestro país, del estado, de por aquí. Lo siento, de España... "Ciutat podrida ens portes la nit i la por. Ara que ets adormida els carrers són plens de foc...". Va por Morfi.
