The Inktobertale/Inktale challenge originates from the mix of Inktale and October.

The challenge consists of drawing a prompt with Ink!Sans either every day during the month of October, or during the highlighted days for a more condensed "weekly" challenge.

Any medium is welcome for this challenge, including writing.

This theme was created and voted as an Ink!Sans challenge, since there are a lot of other Undertale monthly challenges. The Inktale challenge/Inktobertale focuses solely on the character of Ink!Sans. You are free to make Ink!Sans interact with other characters.

You are free to skip, swap, or alternate days as you like. You can also do it digitally. Feel free to swap between different challenges! The point is to have fun and experiment this month, so make this challenge a fun experience! The use of AI is strictly prohibited.

The new addition from 2022’s Inktobertale is an alternative "weekly" challenge! The second list is a suggestion for people who would like to try a different pace, with roughly one drawing every few days. You're totally free to swap with other prompts if some speak to you better for this list as well.

Multiverse Sans(es) with creepy crawly friends! Credits and ramble under cut~

Warning for: entomophobia, acrophobia

Every single bug on this list is a real insect you can find somewhere in the world! (i know, i know those moths look made up! I swear they are very real) I did take some liberates with the depiction of the size of some of these insects simply bc its hard to color a teeny tiny lady bug and those dragon flies are smaller than your pinkie finger!

Blueberry: Enallagma dragonfly, Rosalia Batesi Beetle.

Dream: Comet Moth, Lady Bug.

Ink: Picasso Beetle, Orchid Mantis, Queen Alexandra’s Birdwings.

Cross: Brood X Cicada aka Magicicada Septendecula, Rhino Beetle.

Dust: Rose Haired Tarantula, Hummingbird Hawk Moth.

Killer: Emperor Scorpion.

Horror: Hercules Beetles, Atlas Moth, Giant Millipede.

Nightmare: Scarab Beetle, Luna Moth.

Error: Pinevine Swallowtail and Larvae, White Silk Moth and an unidentified blue butterfly.

I personally blame Cross for this because without him I wouldn’t have thought “hey, these cicadas I’m finding in my backyard are from brood X, and heraCROSS was inspired by the rhinoceros beetle right?” which led to “lets give everyone bug pals too!”

I took some creative liberalities with the scarab beetles because a) scarab beetle art is just as cool if not cooler than the bugs themselves (i went through a scarab beetle phase as a child and that’s all the justification i need) and what insect would be more perfect for Nightmare than the beetle that is considered a symbol of immortality, resurrection and transformation?

Killer gets an Emperor scorpion solely because I think Emperor scorpions are classy on a primal level. But also consider! They come with their own knife.

I gave Dust a redhaired tarantula because I faintly recalled that certain species of tarantula will kick “dust” from their bodies. This dust is actually very fine hair that will embed itself on the skin or eyes of potential predators causing irritation, discomfort and sometimes infection.

I didn’t know picasso beetles existed until I did the research for bugs that felt like they would fit Ink. After that, giving him an Orchid Mantis was a no brainer. They’re colorful and pretty but a mantis is still a mantis! Those things have been known to eat small birds.

I’m total simp for Horror, he gets special treatment. I hope you guys can just feel my love for him and Error OOZE through the screen.

Every choice I made for Error’s bug buddies breaks down to: does it fit his color scheme?? Or: can i somehow connect this insect to silk? Is it cute? Would I give the critter a small kiss? If yes: proceed.

Horrortale - An ongoing AU where frisk killed some monsters and left the Underground. Undyne became the queen and the monsters are hungry as hell. The creepiness is top-tier ✨

Echotale - A Frans AU where the underground is messed up. An older frisk and a Gaster!Sans are trying their best to fix things. This AU is finished and is incredibly cute.

UT Mob - Papyrus and Sans finds a child trapped in the box and adopt the new pet. Already said that they are part of a mob gang?. One of my favorite AUs

Understeam - a concept AU where instead of a war between monsters and humans, it was a war between machines and humans. Machines lost. I really love the concept.

Outertale- an extremely popular concept AU where the Monsterkind wasn't trapped on the underground, but on space. It's beautiful, so beautiful.

Underfell- Frisk and Flowey go on a adventure through the underground where everyone is really agressive.

Soulfell - Frisk and Flowey go through a dangerous and violent underground. The focus is mostly on the bone bros. This is my favorite Underfell AU.

Swapfell - A mix between Underswap and Underfell where capitalism rules. I absolutely love the concept💕

Zombietale- a human falls to underground and gets rescued by Toriel. But the problem is... The human is HUNGRY. The mix between the angst and the cute art style is so good !

Reapertale - in this Soriel AU, the monsters are all gods. Toriel is the God of life, while Papyrus and Sans are gods of death. Because of Sans mistake, Chara became a being full of hate who will hurt the whole realm of gods really bad.

Dusttale - Sans kept going on a geno route without stopping. He started to appear before intended, but he still wasn't strong enough to win the human. So he started to kill monsters to acquire exp. He went insane. One of my favorite Sans.

Caretaker of the ruins - Frisk falls to the underground and is taken care by the monsters. But our protagonist Chara is not happy at all and Frisk gets killed. Many times. Rooting for Chara to lose is extremely fun.

Killer!Sans - Sans kept getting killed on geno routes. He was getting tired. Chara gave him a proposal: how about killing monsters for a change of pace? Sans accepted it. I love this type of AUs, the angst is so good.

Inktale - Ink is a random abandoned sketch who refused to die. After some ink dipped on him he started to feel emotions and got the power of traveling through multiverses. One of my favorite sanses.

Undersail - Frisk is a swimmer who finds some monsters underwater. The concept is so funny and cute.

Dreamtale - an AU about the past of Nightmare and Dream. Brothers who are attracted to negative feelings and positive feelings respectively. They are always involved in stuff about multiverses.

Fantasytale - Frisk is a necromancer who revives a bunch of monsters and become their friends. There's really not much content :( so sad

Dancetale - everyone battles through dance. This is extremely underated and I will not stand for it!

UT storyshift - some stuff got shifted, like Papyrus being the caretaker of the ruins, Chara and Asriel being alive and a bloodthirsty king of the underground. It's a nice read and I can't wait for more !

Aftertale - after getting killed a bunch of times by the human, Sans somehow ends up on the menu of the game where he meets another Sans on the verge of dissapearing. The art style and the AU is SO GOOD

Errortale - an ask blog about Error, a sans who destroys AU anomalies or that just irritate him. He's a really dangerous and interesting fella. I love him

Underplayer- A player loved Undertale so much that she wanted to insert themselves into the game and become friends with everyone. But the task seems harder than it looks. One of my favorite AUs

Underphase - the kids are on a phase: Asriel is goth, Chara is a smartass and Frisk is an otaku. Kill me i love this.

Playbacktale - Papyrus tried to help Flowey get one of Asgore souls, but Flowey greediness fucked them up really hard

Core! Frisk - This frisk, is one who got extremely strong powers. They know all about multiverses and actively participate in some of them

Predatortale- in this horror Au everyone is hungry and trying to kill frisk hooray 💕

Underfell - Flowey and Frisk go on a dangerous and violent underground. This is the Underfell where Frisk advanced the most through the underground

Undernovela - its Undertale but it's a Spanish novela so there's a lot of plot twists and stuff like that. It got discontinued but it's really interesting. It's Error favorite "show"

Flavor text Chara - it's the same as Undertale, but the protagonist is Chara, who is narrating and discovering themselves with Frisk's journey. It's really cute.

Underkeep - Mettaton is the king of the underground and everyone is stylish as hell. it's more of a concept au than a comic one, but I also linked a fanfic about it that it's very good.

Sans the Seraphim - after dying to Frisk because of a geno route, Sans kills them immediately after they exit the ruins and takes all the souls. He opens the barrier, becomes a hottie and for some reason everyone is mad at him :/

Joseontale - it's a concept AU where the Korean author spilled all her love for her culture and traditional clothes on undertale

Undertone - in this AU everyone on the Underground fights with music. But when a human starts to kill every monster, it gets really hard for the timid and blind Sans

Underline - it's kinda like a headcanon for all the questions about Undertale. It's an incredible piece of work

Epictale - gaster is hottie who posses Frisk's body and start killing the underground to "protect" them. Gaster is a hottie, need i say more?

Dogs of future past - Frisk, flowey and one soul of the amalgamate decided to bring someone back after a post pacifist route: Gaster. So they travel back in time, but something goes wrong :D so so so so good.

Underworld - flowey messed with the resets too much, now the underworld became more savage and filled with bloodthirsty monsters. It's a nice angsty concept 💕

Cattale- A concept AU where the monster gang is cute cats and Frisk is their caretaker

Underlust Vanity and Violence - another take on Underlust (that I also talked about) where everyone is horny but the characters designs are incredible. Good kids don't read this

Underswap - the characters personalities are swapped and they are one of the most famous AUs

Fairytale - Frisk blue hiding hood gets lost in a magical and fantastical world

Mergetale - to save Frisk from getting attacked, daddy Sans dies. The grieve, love and determination make their souls resonate and they merge into one being. This concept is so interestings, I wish it had more content :(

Paper trail- this AU was made before chapter 2 so it's the author's own take on the future. It's really interesting and surprisingly it got a lot of stuff right !

Darker yet darker - it's a cute and angsty au about Sans and Papyrus being Gaster's experiments. And he is a bitch >:0

Archertale - everything is the same as Undertale but this concept au is based on archery :)

Hacker!frisk - when Frisk got the Underground they could only see one thing: codes. Everyone was a codes. So they did what anyone would do: they started to mess things up and have fun.

Jumbletale- it's another take on the shifting concept, this time some roles got shifted. Papyrus helps the human on their journey while Sans becomes terrified of humans because of Gaster's influence. It's an interesting take ✨

Drunk!Chara - After a post pacifist route, Chara became a drunk because of their guilt. But at leats their crush Frisk is there for them :) Really cute AU

Handplate- Gaster being a bitch and experimenting with Sans and Papyrus. It's really angsty and I love so freaking much

Alterverse - a multiverse where the ships: Soriel, Papyred, Asdyne, Muffeton and cattypants got their roles switched up. Asriel and gaster also did but their are not a Shipp :0

Underbrushed- a mix between Tangled and Undertale. it's crack and I love it.

Cafe frisk - A chef aspirant falls to the underground and starts a new cafe with Toriel's help :D

Underfresh - Fresh is a virus with no emotion created by us the readers. he knows it and is terrified. So he will do his weird personality thing to keep pleasing us.

Pillowtale - it's a concept au where everything is the same as Undertale but everyone is cute plushies 💕 i love it :3

Bromalgamate - The bone brothers became an amalgamate to save Papyrus from dying. They were happy as they were, but Alphys also helped them make a serum make a complete fusion, creating this way Comic!Papyrus💕 i love this AU

Burstale- when Chara was on her 100th geno run, she found an Allie to help on her selfish mission: Gaster. This AU is incredibly made and Chara is hottie :0

Inverted fate- my favorite AU from all times. The god of hyperdeath, Asriel, won the battle with Frisk and started to play with souls he acquired. But this fucks up the underground.

Name the Fallen - someone fell to the underground and it wasn't the human, it was Papyrus! Prepare yourself for a really angsty AU :D

Undertoad- a mix between Mario and Undertale. Is incredible and very cute I love it.

Chocoblook - when Frisk fell, two souls woke up: a human and a ghost who lost their memories. Frisk and Choco fighting is so hilarious lol

Asylumtale - this AU happens in an Asylum. Sans went crazy after his brother died and refused to accept it.

UT circus - the skeleton clown Papyrus finds a mute human. He brings them to the circus. Cute as hell

Frisk plus Chara- this is an AU where Chara, Asriel and Frisk are alive. How? Well, Chara and Frisk are soul sharing! The art style is adorable

Stand in - this is an Frans au that happens after a soulless pacifist route. After Chara is living with the monsters on the surface for 6 years, Frisk suddenly comes back! It's interesting and a little angsty

Omega ask blog - This is an ask blog for the omega flowey who got abandoned by their frisk. Is so lovely !

Timetale - Salphys is the shipp here mah fella. This AU is focused on Sans life. When he was a child, when he grew up and when he got out of the underground.

Littletale- Everyone is cute and smol but Gaster, Gerson and an alternate Flowey. *Dies of cuteness*

Zephyrtale - the monsters won the war and live on the surface with their dragon gaster blasters. AAA sooo cool !

Angeltale - everyone got wings and the monsters won the war! Frisk escapes the underground with the help of Muffet. But her plans are not so nice as we think

Buttontale - mix between Coraline and Underswap

Weabootale - it's an AU making fun of other aus and anime culture at the same time. This shit is INSANE and I love it.

Glitchtale- On a geno route, Chara is attacking Sans and Frisk wants to stop it. So Chara shuts them out of the fight. Before the final stab on Sans, a glitch happens.

Endertale - after a post pacifist route, frisk keeps getting Chara in their head telling them to reset and kill everyone. Sigh, you wish.

Insomnia- after a post pacifist route, Sans keeps having dreams about people he dont remember.... But will the sleepless night give him the answers he need? The art style is really good !

Undertop - is an AU where Frisk accidentally finds an Circus and meet the ringleader Gaster, who take cares of them.

Admixtale - is an AU where the characters are a mix between many multiverses :) really interesting!

Wondertale - it's a mix between Alice in the wonderland and Undertale. I enjoyed more than I expected !

Humantale - in this Frans AU everyone is human, so no monsters and no war. But not everything is easy. The art style is really nice

Underdarkness - after Papyrus and Frisk dies, Alphyes made some experiments with their souls. And now PAPYRUS IS EVIL HELL YEAH

Dreamtale - Frisk is in a coma and dreams about the underground where is easy to make friends and be loved. But is it right to live inside such a lie? This is a concept AU but I'm really craving for a comic or smth :/

Systematic restore - Frisk falls to the underground before they were supposed to. Asriel and Chara finds them and takes them to their mommy Toriel and king Asgore. Interesting concept!

Oceantale - Concept AU where Undertale happens underwater. This is extremely beautiful.

Overtale - the humans lost the war and got trapped on the underground. A monster kid gets out of the underground accidentally and goes on a journey with a lot of cute humans :D

Delta experiment- it's a mix between Deltarune and Undertale. Asriel and Frisk meet a strange and agressive child while there's a creepy new teacher. And this teacher can make us get involved on the AU :)

Cybertale - when monsters lost, they got locked in another dimension. Even if they are extremely advanced compared to humans, they missed their homeland.

Trainertale- It's Undertale but everyone is a Pokemon trainer! CUTE

Poketale -Its Undertale but everyone is pokemon! CUTE x2

Fellswap - it's a mix between Underswap and Underfell! In this AU, the royalty rules with a dictatorship 💕

A L I V E - an Alphys, Mettaton and an insane sans make a multiversal show to all AUs. One of the best I read recently, the characters are so interesting.

Underlust Reimagine - Another take on Underlust where Sans got it hard (hehe pun)

How to greet a new pal - is a comic where sans from Undertale ends up in the world of Underfell by accident. IT SO CUTE LOL

Gaster blaster sans - Sans was taken over by gaster blasters! It's an interesting concept hihihi

UT gangster AU - a mob au where the monsters live in the surface but there's a lot of racism. So the monsters are on a gang 💕 i love everything about this au

Paperjam - Is a character who got born after some ink from... Ink and blue lines from Error mixed together. I love the character, is so cool

Something is missing - When Frisk exists the ruins, they realize something is missing, but it's not something, is someone.

Refinedtale - a post pacifist route where everything is not really ok. This is the post with the most likes, so thanks.

Parasite!tale - Sans got his soul experimented on. But his fear of dying made him transform in something even he himself don't understand. GAAAH THREE WORDS: BUNNY FREAKING EARS💕💕💕

Slumbertale - the monsters got trapped in the realm of dreams instead of the underground and all their emotions and powers and tied to the humans emotions and souls. It's incredibly cute and the art style is top tier

Art Block

Yellow everyone! Here, have another oneshot. 

It’s...not that long. Actually, I wouldn’t really consider it a oneshot, but I really wanted to get another oneshot out before 2021, so it’ll have to do. 

This oneshot was mostly just a vent of how I’m feeling right now. I know what I want to write, I know how to write it, but when I sit down to do it...nothing happens. It could be just a form of writers block, or I could be burned out, I have no idea.

So...yeah. Until next time, I guess?

Fandom: Undertale, but specifically Inktale and Errortale

Characters: Ink (Who belongs to Comyet) and Error (Who belongs to CQ)

Pairings: Hinted ErrorInk, but you can easily just read it as platonic, if you want.

Ink stared at the blank canvas in front of him.

His grip on the brush tightened.

The image he wanted to painted burned in his head. The colours were vivid and every line was clear and smooth, sharp. He knew every detail he wanted to put into it. He knew how he could do it…but he couldn’t get his hand to move.

He took a deep breath, closing his eyes.

It should be easy. He’d been painting all his life; he’s good at it. Nothing’s stopping him from being able to paint this specific image. He should be able to sit down, pick up a brush and just paint. His hand should be moving to the rhythm of his mind, quick and with a level of expertise that only comes with practice.

But there was a block.

Art Block.

The two words wrapped around him, holding his limbs in place. It held the image in front of every other thought, taunting him to just try and pick up the pencil or brush and then see what happens. It laughs at the frustration he feels as nothing happens and he sits for hours and stares at the whiteness of a blank canvas just begging to be painted.

It seemed silly that this thing would be the reason as to why he hasn’t painted in days, hasn’t finished anything for a month. It was a silly thing to be stopped by.

There was nothing he could do to stop it, however. He tried. He tried taking a break, finding other things to focus on instead. It didn’t work. Nothing worked. All that he could try now was sit and wait for this block to pass and hope that eventually he could sit down and paint again, without all the frustration of not being able to currently.

Even if he agreed to waiting it out, Ink still couldn’t help the anxiety that came with that. What if it’s a whole year before he’s able to paint again? What if his clients and the people that follow his social medias have to wait for that long until a new piece of work for him? So many things and not enough time.

He swallowed, finally letting the brush go.

He didn’t know why he even bothers trying anymore.

He should just wait it out. It’s a phase. It’s happened before (though maybe not for this long) and it’ll definitely happen in the future, but if he can’t do anything about it, isn’t it harmful to try and push himself to try and do it anyways? He’ll just feel worse and worse and then it’ll all cycle again.

Ink sighed.

“Ink?”

His eyes snapped open, immediately closing again at the sudden light that blinded him. He blinked rapidly, trying to adjust to the change. He looked over to the door of the room.

Error stood there, eyes ridden with sleepiness and a hand still lingering on the light switch. “Ink?” He asked again, rubbing at his eye. “Why are you sitting in the dark at 2 in the morning staring at a canvas?”

Ink blinked. Was he really trying to paint in the dark? He must’ve been more desperate than he thought. “Uh…” He tried for a grin. “Sleepwalking?”

Error stared at him blankly for a minute before snorting. “Sleeppainting is more like it.” He glanced to the canvas, a light frown on his face. “How were you even supposed to see what colours you were putting on it?”

Ink shrugged. “I have no idea what I was thinking.” He really didn’t.

“Of course you don’t.” Error sighed, turning around. “Whatever. Come back to bed. It’s late and there’ll be plenty of time for you to paint in the morning.”

Ink hesitated, glancing to the canvas. It hadn’t changed.

“Ink.” He looked back at Error, who had turned back around when Ink didn’t move to follow him. The other glared at him. “You’re coming back to bed, even if I have to drag you there myself. Got it?”

Ink chuckled. “Got it.”

Error searched his face, looking for something that he apparently found. He nodded. “Good.” He turned back and started walking down the hall, raising his voice as he went. “Now, I’m going to complete my quest for a glass of water and I better see you in the bed when I return or so god help me—” His voice faded as he got too far away.

Ink chuckled again.

It didn’t seem like he had much choice in the matter.

He paused at the doorway, looking back at the canvas that still called to him. Shaking his head slightly at himself, he shut the light off and started back to the bedroom. Error would be irritated if he lingered any longer.

Besides…

No matter what happens, what his feeling may be of the matter, Ink could wait until he was able to paint without feeling so blocked. He knew it in his heart. Until then, he was lucky to have his friends, his family and, of course, Error to help him get through it.

Ink smiled.

Yeah. Everything would be fine.

Four Year thank you

Hello everybody!

Today Nevertale turned four years old! It doesn't sound like a long time, but oh boy it is. I'm just going to say what's been going on behind the scenes and I hope you enjoy it!

At the start of everything, the world was named NPCtale. I never understood what the acronym NPC meant, but it sounded cool to my younger self. So, as I developed maturity, I learned what it was, but I stuck with it. I didn't know what to call it, so I just kept on saying the world's name was: NPCtale.

A year later a took a half-year hiatus and stopped working on the world entirely. This is when I lost ALL of my work on random scraps of paper. I exited the fandom then, why did I need it?

Then, after the hiatus, I entered the fandom and became a viewer of Comic Sans TV. (Note: They do pretty awesome things at the channel, so, go check them out and give them love!), I quickly found out about the AU's of Undertale. I entered the AU's, learning about Underswap, Underfell, Inktale, and Errortale. This was around 2017 and very close to 2018.

Soon enough I started working on NPCtale again and renamed it Nevertale. Liking the name more because it based around the conflict between the (scrapped) idea of Ink making a Universe and Error ripping it to shreds then repairing it for some reason? Yeah, that was what I thought would be cool.

Soon I expanded on the characters and split it up into phases. Phase One, Two, and Three. Now's the time that, since you're reading this whole thing, I would tell you the summary's of them, but beware that Phase Three is in the air and not solidified entirely with the Summary.

Phase One: According to all worlds, one must start somewhere. This is a story about the adventures, fates, and tales of the Wizards. The Monsters have been enslaved for a long time, and Faults are mostly hidden, scattered across the world. When the Monsters are trapped Underground and Haylin is sent to treason, was the real bad guy truly Haylin? The Wizards are quickly promoted up to Kings and Queens, while some expire and some run away from their duties. At the end of things, only one stands alive between humanity's end.

Phase Two: The Monsters have been trapped Underground, they are considered beasts that'll attack you if you fall into the Underground. Nobody makes it out alive. When a few children fall, see through their perspective as time changes, and the world shifts to peace then anarchy. In a matter of seconds, the world falls apart and the only way to make it come together again is to remember it. Flare and Kindle are tasked with that choice as they figure out something that tears brothers apart.

Phase Three: (In the air, so I'll give you a prophecy.) "A host shall usher forth an age of war and destruction. When the moment comes that the world shrivels, a vicious act shall usher forth a world of darkness and broken friendships. A breakdown shall mark a vicious war. Upon the day the darkness rises once more, a new bond shall bring the fall of the world and a reunion of gods. Once clouds roar with fury, a suspicious happening shall bring the rise of Faults and age of suspicion. It shall be on the day that air turns to fire, the innocent shall bring the destruction of culture. As soon as the true one opens their eyes, they will be granted rule upon the destroyed world. It shall be on the day that what's shrouded is revealed, a confession shall bring forth the return of monsters and a country's rise."

Its been four years, my gosh. I can't believe it. I actually can't. I'm proud of where this world has been going through, and I'm glad I stuck with it.

I have to say a big thank you to all of you guys who have stuck with me, but also my family and friends, since they're now bearing me speaking about how I could change and improve my world 24/7.
