hey! i'm hoping that your daily routines go back to the norm once you finally settle in your new apartment! sounds like a total nightmare what you're going through. i'd be so frustrated lol!
anyway, i've been curious about something since i read chapter 31 of "paper men" and i can't get it out of my head. you established that henry and evelyn almost did it, but i've been wondering what would've happened if henry hadn't freaked out and went through with it. obviously it was a spontaneous decision based on his thought process, so i'm figuring no protection would've been used? could have evelyn gotten pregnant? (god i know that sounds awful considering she's 15 but it is a possibility) would their dynamic change in a negative or positive way? would they get together but end up like henry's parents just like henry feared? i have so many questions!
can't wait for the next chapter to be posted! (take your time tho ofc) sorry if this is a weird ask :(
Oh I hope so, too! I hate not being able to write regularly. It makes me extra irritable. Just ask my husband. 😂
Anyway, regarding your question…
Okay, so I’ve given this a good long thought and, yes, if Henry hadn’t freaked out, they absolutely would have proceeded without protection. There’s honestly no way around that. As much as I want to believe Evelyn’s good senses would eventually kick in and make her pump the breaks, I’d just be lying myself.
That moment was so intense and emotionally overcharged, nobody was thinking clearly—or at all, frankly. Henry was distraught, desperate, and terrified of losing Evelyn. And Evelyn, bless her hormonal fifteen-year-old heart, was so caught up in her feelings and in her desire to comfort Henry that she was willing to let him do… well, anything. 🤷‍♀️ So if Henry needed her in that way, in that moment, she would have gladly let him take her virginity right then and there, condom or no condom. (I feel so weird talking about this, but it’s true.) That girl is so in love and so weak for Henry. She’d let him take whatever he wanted. No questions asked.
Shit, that could’ve ended so badly! Thank God Henry freaked out like he did. 😂
Now, for the sake of this ask, let's assume Henry didn’t freak out and they actually slept together. Let’s assume Evelyn gets pregnant, which would be a very real possibility.
In that case, Evelyn would probably want to get an abortion. Like you said, she’s only fifteen and she still has so much she wants to accomplish in high school. Remember, she wants to be the student council/senior class president. Getting pregnant would make that practically impossible. Who’s gonna vote for the girl that got knocked up by the school bully? Not Paul Colborne, that’s for sure.
Her family would, of course, support whatever decision she makes, but let’s be real: they don’t want to see Evelyn pregnant, not so young and certainly not with Henry’s child. Maggie especially doesn’t want this. She knows what Henry’s mother went through with Butch. That’s not the life she wants for her daughter.
Now what about Henry?
Well first, Butch would probably beat him damn near to death for getting a girl pregnant, especially Maggie Tozier’s daughter. Assuming Henry survives this savage beating, I think he’d want Evelyn to keep the baby. And it’s not because Henry has this desire to be a dad or to start a family with Evelyn. He sees this as the perfect way to keep her chained to him forever. If Evelyn gets pregnant, she’ll probably have to drop out of school. If she drops out of school, then she can’t leave him and go to college. It’s the perfect scenario.
For him.
This would ultimately create a huge, irreparable rift between them. If Evelyn even brought up the idea of getting an abortion, Henry would freak out and start spiraling, and this fear would, of course, manifest as anger because that’s how everything manifests with Henry. He would become very controlling and possessive over “his” baby and… yeah, things would get dark real quick. 😬
I hope that answers your question.

Just to be real a second...
If you give people crap for being homeless and trying to stay safe while they navigate out of a very terrible set of circumstances...You're objectively a bad person.
Case in point I've been playing parking lot bingo between stores the last couple of days. (IDK how many. Time is starting to lose it's meaning a little, which is a very bad sign for me...) I use parking lots for the simple safety reasons. (Lights, cameras, and some other boondockers or truckers.)
One of my part-time jobs was merchandising. (AKA I go into big box stores and put up the specialty merch. Like that display of kinderlike eggs that has a toy on one side and pudding on the other? It was for the second AVATAR movie) Unfortunately this means they know my face at some of these big box stores. And someone complained about me to my bosses and my lack of professionalism. So I'm out a part-time job. I'm already very tired from poor sleep, and busting my liquid brain trying to find a way into housing after the RV bust. (Also I had to find someone who wasn't going to charge me to tow it. I'll give that big box store it's credit, their people were gems who worked with me as far as they could.)
My point is....I'm very tired of people who see this and think punching down is funny, (A previous boss dressed up as homeless person for Halloween last year.) or professionally sound??? (Seriously. No one spoke to me, they just called my boss.)
I wouldn't wish this on anyone--and I'm not a nice person. I've wished ill on a few people in my life. But this is beyond anything a person should have to deal with.
At least I go to one of the housing offices tomorrow to get a case set up. My lost job gives me more time for that. Though it's gonna make paying for gas a nightmare...

I asked my friend once if she thought I was a spiteful person. This is essentially how the conversation went:
Me: I'm a pretty spiteful person, right? Like, when I wanna be?
Her: I think you think you're more spiteful than you are
Me, in the process of learning a language out of pure spite: Mmhm. No, you're probably right. What was I thinking? Me? Spiteful? Never

S1 The Bubbler: Moral of the Story?
[Moral of the Story?] is the first of a repeat segment where I talk about the episode’s intended moral, usually either criticizing the moral itself or how the episode delivers the moral. [The Bubbler]’s moral is something along the lines of ‘adults are good, and also good for kids’, with Bubbler voicing the counterargument. To quote the episode, Bubbler says that adults are “total party poopers” and “controlling and bossy”, and says that “Kids need freedom, fun, let loose, and live it up.”. Ladybug responds by saying that “Kids need adults” and that “adults keep children safe and protected. They care for their kids. They love them.”. My big problem is with how the rest of the episode either poorly serves or undermines the theme.
[The Bubbler] has three adult non-background characters: Gabriel, Nathalie, and Sabine. The audience is privy to Gabriel’s horrible parenting, but because of lies and deception, Adrien (and Nino) are led to believe that Gabriel is better than he is. They come to agree with the moral of the story, but on false pretenses. Nathalie is kind and polite to Adrien, but is ultimately a self-serving stock secretary archetype whose only motivation is to not be fired. These two were designed to not follow the moral or learn from it, so the problem isn’t with them. As for Sabine, she should be the one adult that the story highlights as good and caring and loving, to show why Ladybug is the one to posit the pro-adult/parent moral. Instead, in Sabine’s only scene, she orders Marinette to clean her room and threatens to snoop through her room if she doesn’t. While the scene isn’t framed as a negative interaction at all, Sabine’s actions more closely align with Bubbler’s take on adults as "controlling and bossy", rather than Ladybug’s take. If the show wanted Ladybug to give a pro-adult/parent speech, Sabine’s actions should be her point of reference, demonstrating Ladybug's point for the audience, or at the very least not countering her point.
This [Moral of the Story?] segment gets off pretty lightly, with my problem requiring only the slightest of tweaks to make it cohesive. I will judge some others more harshly for their greater failures, but this one is pretty close to solid.
