Propaganda (abilities and some achievements)

Morrigan: the latest chosen avatar for a pantheon of nine divinities with a theoretically unlimited upper bound on her powers. She’s destroyed and cured a disease (with help) and shut down a human trafficking ring.

Nico: demigod son of hades who’s technically in his 80s but he as the body of a teenager. He was in a Roman senate and lead a skeleton army against titans.

fight setup:

Morrigan has access to Wunder (she can weave (create some small objects), use nocturne for blasts and light, set things on fire, and make shadows) but can’t use gossamer bridge possession or Squall’s monsters (bc that’s technically not her)

Nico has his sword and full powers (necromancy, sensing death, stone and bone control, enhanced physical form, temperature control, fear aura, etc.) but not any direct divine intervention

both are 100% focused on killing each other

“Mon coeur?” Polnareff’s voice whispered in French from where he lay next to you in the sand. The fire Advol had started snapped and hissed in the chilling night air. A sound mixed with the faint, sleeping breaths of Kakyoin and Jotaro while Mr. Joestar’s great, near-bellowing snores broke through the quiet here and there, shaking the very earth itself.  

“Mio Caro,” You mumbled in your home language of Italian, sleep clear in your voice. “Go to sleep.”

“But--I need to ask you something.” You sighed through your nose at the pleading in Polnareff’s voice. You peeked an eye open to look upon the face you had come to love oh so dearly. His silver hair, though you would never tell him, was slightly tousled from trying and failing to find sleep. It just made the softness of his face all the more stunning. 

“Ask me then.” You whispered, turning so that you could face him fully. So you didn’t have to strain your sleep-needing eyes to look upon him. 

“Would you--” You watched his cheeks flush in that blush you all but craved to see as he began. “Would you still love me if I was a worm?” You stayed still. Very still because if you so much as blinked you wouldn’t be able to hold back the laugh building in your chest. 

“W-what?” You managed to get out with merely a huffing amusement. 

“This is serious, mon amour.” He demanded, reaching across the way to take your hand in his. You didn’t hesitate to take it back, interlocking your fingers with his as you scooted ever closer to the Frenchmen.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, amore.” You said in a clearing of your throat to shove your laughter down. “You just--you took me off guard is all. This is not something I have ever been asked before.” Polnareff huffed, clearly getting upset at your response. 

“So you wouldn’t love me?” He huffed again, averting his eyes from yours. 

“I didn’t answer the question yet!” You chuckled, rubbing circles into the back of his hand. It was an action that never once failed in making his face as red as a tomato. “And my answer is; of course, I would still love you as a worm. I would buy a worm farm and feed you all you could eat and we would watch the sunset on the dawn of each day and watch it rise in the morning.” 

“Really?” He asked bashfully, those gray eyes of his looking back into yours.

“Really. Now can we go back to--” 

“What about as a fish? Would you still love me as a fish?” You closed your eyes for a moment, letting the darkness ease the slight sting of sleep away. 

“Of course, amore.” 

“What about as a frog?” 

“I would still love you.” 

“What about as a turtle?” You peeked an eye open at him again, finding he was still as serious as he had been moments ago. 

“No. I wouldn’t.” Heartbreak crashed over his features.

“W-what? Why not?” You snuggled closer into him, now feeling his warm body pressed tightly against yours. You gave a content sigh as you buried your face in his chest. 

“Because I don’t like turtles. They freak me out. So small yet they live hundreds of years? And they are scaly and smelly and I’ve heard some even eat meat which is absurd.” You mumbled out against his skin, guiding his hand still held in yours to rest around your body. He instantly latched it around your body, holding you securely against him.

“You really wouldn’t love me because I would live for a long time? That should make it the best animal for me to turn into, so I could be with you forever.” He murmured, lips brushing against the top of your head as he spoke. 

“I won’t live forever and thank god for that.” You huffed, feeling yourself start to fall back into the warm, darkness of sleep. “And thank god you’ll never turn into such an animal. Go to sleep, tesoro. We can discuss which animals I would love you as in the morning.”
