Month of Sonadow 2025 Day 2

Found out about Month of Sonadow on Twitter, god help me cause I know I’m going to try a lot of the days & will likely be doing catch up days.

Day 2 was gifts

I decided to it’d be interesting draw movie Sonadow for this because of an idea I had that was fueled by a fanfic I’ve been reading recently.(LINK) The idea is that Sonic kept the photo he found of Shadow & Maria for some reason(maybe he had a feeling he should keep it for later) then went on to give it a new frame(with his cousin’s help) because the glass was broken & the frame possibly got damaged between Sonic finding it & taking it home.(I dunno, they could have possibly found replacement glass & edited the frame a little)

This is meant to be possibly post-Sonic 4 or whatever when Shadow returns(as well as the day being saved again) & having settled down either with Sonic(so living with your boyfriend’s family) or somewhere else(likely Stone) & visiting Sonic as well as his family. I imagine thanks to re-finding his old cave in Sonic 3 it led to Sonic fixing it up a little for when he needed a place to hang out alone, when Shadow started showing up again Sonic made the cave a place for Shadow to hang out at as well & tried to recreate what he remembered of Shadow & Maria’s old hangout(that sleepover tent area without the TV) to make Shadow feel comfortable.

The idea for this image is that Sonic & Shadow are hanging out at the cave, it’s either after celebrating Shadow’s birthday(going off the date GUN found him 50 years ago) or after having a welcome party. Sonic had been waiting to give Shadow this photo as a gift, Shadow really appreciates that Sonic had this(especially since the place it came from got destroyed by a mini blackhole so it’d be hard to find old mementos) as it’s a memory of his late sister. Even if he had nothing left of back then at least he had this.

I also kind of imagine if he ever gets a phone(and is taught how to use a modern one cause I dunno if he’s been given much time to get use to modern tech past hanging out with Stone) Sonic & Tails help him get the photo as his lock screen background. They’re making super sure this photo lasts for Shadow’s sake.
