the great mostro vs monstro debacle of ’21

Since 2023’s Valentine Gifts are now being received, I wanted to take this time to recall an infamous piece of TWST merch history 😂

During the first year of Valentine Gift releases, Azul’s letter read like this:

Notice that Azul used “Monstro” Lounge to refer to his restaurant. There is an added “n” in the name.

Previously, Azul’s restaurant had always been referred to as the “Mostro” Lounge in game, no “n” at all (although “Monstro” was a common typo among fans, who assumed the eatery was named after Monstro, the whale in Pinocchio):

TWST EN did not yet exist in an official capacity in 2021, so fans were led to conclude that the “correct” names were “Mostro” in Japanese and “Monstro” for English. This was a cause for confusion particularly among fanfiction writers, who had mainly taken to using “Mostro” Lounge in their works. Common topics for discussion included whether or not they would have to amend their old fics or whether they should adapt to “Monstro” in future fics.

… But then it turns out “Monstro” was a typo all along and it was always meant to be “Mostro” Lounge. Luckily, people who had preordered or received 2021 Azul Valentine Gifts were sent new letters with the misspelled word fixed 😂 and now we can all call the place Mostro Lounge without worry!

One thing since leaving tumblr that I became obsessed with is The Binding of Isaac. I’ts now one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. This was probably the first proper fanart I did of it in 2021. Still kinda love how this turned out.

Mickey and Minnie arrived from their vacation and were scared to find the club destroyed. Daisy and Donald explained everything and confessed that they couldn't do this, it was all difficult and they needed a vacation

Mike announces the cruise that Mickey and Minnie went on vacation and then Mickey says goodbye to the audience even though it is destroyed

Don't worry, the club is like new and built again the next day
