You weren't sure when you'd started pacing, somewhere between Eddie drumming some Iron Maiden song on his thigh and him deciding to read the headings of one of your magazines out loud- but you were close to losing your mind. No matter how hard you tried to avoid his arrogant gaze, you couldn't quite stop yourself from looking over at him every few seconds, fuming when he offered you a little smirk.

"Stop that," you groaned with a pointed glare, that very smirk on his lips making your blood boil and you weren't sure if it was out of hatred or attraction but it maddened you to no end. "Stop looking at me like that."

"Like what?" he dared, folding his legs as his feet kicked into the glass table of the conference room, the entire gesture being met with another groan. "Damn, sweetheart, you sure harbor a lot of hatred for a man you don't know."

"Oh, I know exactly who you are, Munson," you scoffed, folding your arms as you walked toward him. "You're trouble. Trouble that's going to end up biting me in the ass."

"Now, that sounds like an idea," he teased, tilting his head to better take in the way you rolled your eyes at him, an action that had no right being that adorable. He was sure he'd win you over eventually, but he had no problem enduring those little reactions until he did.

"My brother doesn't like me hanging around people like you," you noted far too eagerly, looking up from the steering wheel of his father's boat to steal a guilty glance at Steve.

"Is that so?" he mused, shamelessly drawing his eyes over your figure, smiling to himself at the lovely sight, hardly believing his luck that of all the people his father would hire, it would be the very person he'd taken an almost fascinated interest in. "You're hanging around me now," he argued, leaning forward against the ledge of the boat, unfazed by the water moving beneath it.

"I'm working, Harrington," you tutted, picking up the pair of rubber gloves you'd momentarily forgotten when you saw him walk over. "And you're bothering me," you tried your very best to seem serious, turning on your heel to search for your cleaning supplies, faltering when the boat shifted under your feet, creaking as Steve walked towards you.

"Can I bother you some more?" his tone dipped to an innocent flirt, one he was known for and though you thought you would be, you weren't at all immune to the impact it had.

"Would saying no actually make you leave?"

"No," he smirked, taking the gloves from your hands with a charming wink.

"That's usually how this goes, yeah," you shrugged, everyone nodding in agreement as he scoffed softly, looking down at what was now discovered to be the Creel house.

"Seems a little reckless," he noted and you couldn't help but giggle, taking his hand from where it fiddled with the corner of one of the papers, his eyes instantly meeting yours. "You're going to go and try to save the world based on a picture drawn with crayons and basically nothing else, aren't you?"

"That's also usually how this goes," you smiled softly, rubbing your thumb up and down his hand as he sighed, a defeated sigh, as if giving in to some inner battle.

"I feel like we should have a serious talk with these children about their after-school activities," Remus was serious, though it had a faint notion of humour to it as he squeezed your hand softly. "Okay, let's go fight the evil dead guy or whatever."

"That's the spirit, Remmy."
