Today was spent in researching so many different things - from Ndebele patterns to Japanese etchings to Moebius. One of my favorite things about such days is finding new, unexpected treasures. Today it was Mongolian Wrestling. The costumes are incredible and so are the men wrestling. Interesting tidbit : according to legend, the vest is open in front because on one occasion, a winner ripped open the vest to reveal that she is a woman. Second image is my table right now. The floor looks similar. Strewn books and sketches everywhere! #dailydrawing #illustrationartists #bokh #mongolianwrestling #wrestling https://www.instagram.com/p/By_eh0PBrvT/?igshid=20lur9vweba8

Bökh (Mongolian Wrestling)
The Mongolian wrestling is called “Bökh”, and the wrestler is called “Bökh Qin”. It is very popular in Inner Mongolia (north of China). Bökh is one of the Mongolian “Three manly skills”, together with horse racing and archery. It is a symbol of strength and courage.
