"I start back at work next week." It was a big step, a very big step that she was extremely excited about. It had been months since Waverly had last worked, between being ill and getting a new heart, the time away had been necessary.

Though she was a little worried about how the other would react, would they think it was too soon? She knew any worry they may have would be warranted, all things considered, but the teacher was ready to get her life back.

"Eh, it will be alright. We can control it if it happens again." Riker pointed out, rolling his eyes a little bit. Maybe Joseph was right but Riker also wanted to be right. Sometimes it was a power struggle between them. "Fine, we won't do it again. I give you my word." He stated. Honestly he was trying to help the restaurant to be better but it was what it was. There were times that Joseph and him were the best of friends and the other times they butted heads. But that was also the name of the game and how it worked in kitchens especially when they were super busy and tension was high at the time. Which often happened at the dinner rush.

Again Riker rolled his eyes at Joseph. "I'm trying to fuckin' help this place, Joey. Hence the new equipment, it's needed. Trust me when I say it will make a difference. Just give it a week and if you still don't like it, I'll return it then." He offered, looking for a compromise between the two of them and well this one seemed like a reasonable one. "Just one week."

"---'Cause, It's a goddamn fire AND safety hazard!" He gestured towards the ceiling, coffee mug in hand and spilling over his already roughed up knuckles. He wasn't phased as he began to rant, in Joseph-fashion. "The alarm will blare and the spinklers will follow. My sister Nat'll come in all pissed ‘cause nobody knows any common sense. On top of that, it's gonna cost us to close down the fuckin' restaurant for a few days, if it's electrical." As some of his colleagues were taking a break, he also noticed the cigarettes being passed around. He was an adult. He knew he had a 'tough love' persona, but this was more important than considering feelings.

And sure, the place was rundown, yet fully loved and still functioning. They didn't need to repair anything yet due to negligence-- and if he could stop the problem before it started, he'd reward himself with a beer, later that night. "No smokin' near the exit doors. No pans left unattended, and no fuckin' new equipment thats outta budget. Return the fancy toaster or mixer or whatever it is, Riker."

well , that was nice of him to do so . yet , they were banking on leaving just so they could get ready for work & then -- work their grueling shift before going home & doing nothing , but this was a nice addition to their morning -- hopefully , their good mood after this wouldn't end . " billie lets out , with this short grin worn on their face , shuffling around the room , humming to themselves before saying something else , maybe he needed assistance ? maybe . " do you .. need help ? or a small allergy list ? " they're letting out , a softened gaze thrown his way with a light sigh , chewing down on their lower lip , only slightly nervous , awaiting his reply .

FAVORITE COLOR(S): LAVENDER, pink, pastel blue, sage green, sunflower yellow , and I KNOW BLACK DOESN'T COUNT BUT LISTEN I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

FAVORITE FLAVORS(S): I love floral tastes like lavender and rose (when they aren't overpowering, for example: lavender lattes and rose milk tea), I love the taste of coffee (tiramisu and chocolate covered espresso beans are to die for), anything seafood related (poke, sushi, etc.), and hmm... there's this very specific sandwich that I crave constantly and i truly ascend to the heavens each and every time i taste it.

FAVORITE MUSIC: WHAT THIS IS SO HARD!! I listen to many genres and constantly look for new music... but if I was going to distill my music taste as it is at this very moment, the playlist would probably contain: Hozier, I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, Vansire, Starkid, Mitski, Saint Motel, Fall Out Boy, and Ghost? However, I'm getting back into French music (mostly French Indie), K-Pop, and Electro-Swing.

FAVORITE MOVIE(S): Parasite, Heathers, Moulin Rouge!, The Cat Returns, Coraline, Heathers, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog (although, that may be more of a mini-series), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, etc. :)

FAVORITE SERIES: Firefly, Community, Torchwood/Doctor Who, FRUITS BASKET REBOOT, Barry, etc. :)

"Huh?" That was all she could manage with the very statement pulling back to reality. Akira blinked, gathered herself before her lips parted and then closed again. "I'm that obvious huh?" That was a rhetorical question. She shrugged and scratched her head. "You just saved me from an internal spiral." She took a deep, cleansing breath and let it out slowly. "Seems like the feds are inching closer."

     “ locked and loaded.”  bands of money were lifted irresponsibly in his hand. sunglasses hung on the bridge of his nose so that levi’s warm eyes could peer over the rim. if you rewound this moment - this morning, levi had an explosive conversation with his father. rich entitlement wasn’t in his own cup of tea, and he couldn’t help but be BORN into it. it was a heavy pour of disappointment spoken from someone who was supposed to encourage, and guide him in life. his father kept standards impossibly high. if levi ever met one of them, his father would just lift the bar higher. no golden stars. no pats on the back. there was only so much a person could handle. today, levi reached his PEAK - “ so i emptied my account attached to my family.”  he shrugged carelessly leaning against his car.  “ lets blow it. lets not give one solitary shit and just .. live it up. -- are you with me ? ”  it was manic.

Snow fell down and collected in her dark hair. Sweetness was in the air and perhaps between the two of them, as well. The night had been simple, just a walk around the city together enjoying the first fallen snow. Elani found it easy to talk to him, as if she had known him her whole life. It was unlike some of the others in her life. The men she came across always wanted something from her and moments like this were rare to have. Instead of continuing their walk, she approached a bench in the park and took a seat. She didn’t want their night to end just yet. “Let’s just sit a while.”

Rani can't help the laughter that bubbles out of her at Bennie's words. "You know, I kinda thought that was a given considering my status as your wife," she manages to reply once she's calmed down. She playfully swats her man's arm too. "It's actually in the fine print that you get to kiss me whenever you want for the rest of our lives. How fucking cool is that?" Her smile reaches all the way up to her eyes, causing them to sparkle as she gazes at the love of her life.

Atlas felt his body stiffen, his blood running cold, as soon as the words tumbled out of his fathers mouth. Somehow, even after all this time, it never hurt any less. Every syllable was a shot to the heart. He stood there, just blinking stupidly as his father broke him again. Atlas was learning to take care of himself but it wasn't easy. Not when Oliver looked at him like that. Not when he spoke with such venom.

"There's nothing fucked up in here. Nothing out of the ordinary. You'd know that if you actually paid attention for once." Of course the words that found him were defiant. His mother had been a good influence lately. His strength came from her. "And if you're somehow still having a hard time wrapping your head around who I am then thats on you.
