Celebrating sisterhood and mothering with these amazing women. During her talk yesterday @mistyonpointe said that at one of her performances someone asked her if the large group of black people in the audience were her family members. As she said shared that she said: no. I thought to myself: yes, we all are. We see you Misty. You’re our sister, daughter, cousin, niece and sister friend. You inspired every single brown and black body in that audience because by excelling in a space were we previously didn’t see ourselves reflected, you made the seemingly unreachable dreams of brown bodies in all industries, just a bit more attainable. We cheer you on with our entire souls because your testimony and life story could someday be our own, our daughter’s or our son’s!
