Thinking about Ryuu's first time on stage. Ryuu, who'd never performed in front of anyone before in his life. Ryuu, who grew up as a fisherman's son in Okinawa, and whose greatest aspiration is to fix his father's boat and send his brothers to university. Ryuu, who wasn't even on a popular sports team playing in front of a crowd before he joined up with TRIGGER.

Ryuu, surrounded by two of the most exacting people he's ever met, up on stage staring out at the people gathered there to see them. TRIGGER. And it doesn't matter if it's a dozen or a hundred or ten thousand, that first time it seems like a million. Two thousand eyes on you, hotter even than the spotlights making him sweat. No matter how you try to prepare yourself for that, you can never really be ready for the reality of that sort of thing.

Do you think he froze up? Got nervous and missed a cue? Tenn stepping in from behind him to make up for it, and he's smiling, because of course he's smiling, he's on stage, but Ryuu can feel how angry he's going to be later. Gaku trying to cover for his fumbled dance moves with a little extra charm, but it makes the weight on Ryuu's shoulders weigh all the more heavily.

He just wanted to fix his father's boat.

Stand on the stage. Sing. Dance. Smile. It sounds so easy.

It will be. Eventually. Easier, at least. Never easy.

In the bag is her medicine, water bottle, ginger ale and snacks for Mimi and Riri...! However, as you can see...Hayato got into that...the menace! She made sure he had his own snacks, too!! To prevent this...!!! So she, of course, takes his snacks to the sleepover. 💁🏾‍♀️✨️ I like to think she would bring somali sugar cookies to Uncle Tsuyoshi as a gift! They look like this:

She'd make sure there was a ton, so of course, Takeshi, Riri, and even Mimi could have some! (Also, yes, Hayato has his own, too.)

I don't know if Riri is into video games, but honestly, Momina would bring her console, controllers, and multiplayer games for them to play just in case! I like thinking the games were mostly Mario related...as a backup, she'd bring cards as well! Otherwise, she is just very excited to be sleeping over and having fun with her dear friends! She'd also let them know that since she is sickly, she apologizes if her coughing bothers them! She's fine to leave early if it does! Really!

Both Nobara and the blonde witch (Momo?) make good points about the role of women in this Jujutsu society. Momo points out that power is not enough for them, that that which is good enough for men isn't for women, that they are held to higher standards, and for them scars aren't badges of honour as they are for men, but make them undesirable and damaged goods.

And then there's Nobara, pointing out those are sexist standards one doesn't have to adhere to, that it's on them for playing by the rules and having those exigences in mind. That she likes clothes and looking pretty, but for herself, she doesn't expect it from others or respect more someone who does as well if they don't want to, like she likes Maki but dislikes Mai. And she too is right! It's true that adhering to those exigences perpetuates the standards! But what she says doesn't negate what Momo says, which is the fact that, yeah, okay, it sucks, but that's how it is and not playing by the rules just makes everything harder. And harder still for someone like Mai (or Maki) to whom perfection isn't just the goal, but the very starting point being people from one of the main clans. So she can understand and defend Mai's position and approach to the problem, as Nobara understands and defends Maki's.

This all gains layers of complexity and juiciness considering Momo and Mai are Utahime's students and Todo's classmates. I am sure the manga won't go there, but wow is it intriguing how Utahime's situation may have influenced their views. What a pity the manga won't go there

WIP: A Constellation Undiscovered [Sneak Peek]

Per your request @ellionne and @wisiaden here's a sneak peak at Chapter 5 of A Constellation Undiscovered!

“Have they hurt you?” Tobirama asks, deciding to be blunt when it means Madara will have to be more direct in dodging his questions. In response, Madara’s expression turns flat and hard to read as he stares wordlessly back at Tobirama for a long moment, clearly reluctant to answer. 

He thinks Madara will be less likely to try and lie to him as things stand between them now, possibly. They both are still tender from their recent reconciliation, if in different ways, but Tobirama has not failed to notice how Madara has been unexpectedly humbled in the wake of seeing Amaterasu’s mark etched into Tobirama’s skin. 

As much as he fails to fully understand why, Tobirama is not above taking advantage of the slight edge he currently holds because of it. 

“Madara, have they hurt you? Let me see. Whatever you’re doing to hide it, undo it.” Tobirama repeats, if a bit more firmly than before. 

His husband hesitates just a heartbeat longer before Madara’s eyes close and then suddenly it is as if an entirely different image of his husband’s face has been superimposed over the illusion Madara has carefully woven into their bond dream with his perfect control. 

“By the gods, Madara,” Tobirama breathes out, understandably surprised. 

A mottled blue and yellow bruise curls up along Madara’s jaw, too vivid and deep for it to have been delivered with anything short of a brutal level of force. It makes Tobirama’s own jaw tense and before he realizes what he is doing, he has begun to reach for his husband’s face. When his fingers are just short of touching the curve of Madara’s cheek he abruptly pauses, hesitant to touch the clearly tender flesh even though he finds himself foolishly wishing to soften the pain it must no doubt cause. 

Madara’s face flickers back into its previously perfect visage from one moment to the next and Tobirama’s hand limply falls back down to the wooden surface of the dock. He can’t stop the way his fingers curl into a tight fist, the only outward sign of frustration that he allows himself to show, but Madara is kind enough not to make mention of it. 

“There’s nothing you can do, Tobirama. It’s better you do not see such things,” Madara quietly insists before he smirks suddenly, much to Tobirama’s startlement. “You should see the fool who managed to land a hit on me. I left him far from unscathed.” 

Against his will, a startled, half aborted laugh is pulled from his throat at how utterly smug Madara sounds and Tobirama has to close his eyes to quickly recollect himself before he says something crass. 

Damn the Uchiha and their thrice-damned penchant for dramatics. 

“Madara, do not antagonize your captors,” Tobirama tiredly sighs, even though he knows his pleas will fall on deaf ears. His mind is quick to shift to more important matters a second later, already mulling over the intel Madara might be able to provide them. “Do you know their ranks? Plans? Have they made any indication of your current location?” 

Madara levels a rather put upon look at him and says nothing for a heartbeat before he grunts and cracks his head to the left and right, making Tobirama cringe at the loud ‘pop’ that follows. 

“Right to business, as always. Why am I not surprised?”

“Madara,” Tobirama warns, voice edging on impatient before he narrows his eyes at his husband pointedly. Madara's attitude is very much not appreciated by at the moment, considering the pressure they are currently under. “You and I both know bond dreams are unstable and as this is our first—” 

“I want to enjoy it,” Madara cuts Tobirama off, “is that so hard to imagine?” 

At the rebuke, Tobirama quiets and looks away down the river so that his mercurial temper doesn’t rear its head as would normally be the case. He finds it hard to hold his tongue, but the guilt he still feels at having robbed his husband of a fulfilling bond from the outset of their marriage can’t be denied. In that moment, he finds that it outweighs his desire to speak his mind. Tobirama is self-aware enough to admit to himself that he worries for Madara even if he can’t bring himself to say as much outwardly, for all that he is willing to press Madara for details that might help him rescue his husband. 

He has always endeavored not to let his emotions influence him, first at his father’s direction, and then out of sheer necessity during the war when he’d been forced to compartmentalize their many personal losses lest he give in to his growing rage and grief. The demons he faces now are all of his own making, and he cannot help but find himself repeatedly lapsing in his control when it comes to Madara, who lays at the heart of very nearly all of them.  

“Apologies,” Madara quietly bites out a moment later, his tone tense. “I did not mean to—that was a poor choice of words.” 

“But no less honest or correct,” Tobirama points out, keeping his voice carefully modulated and clear of accusation. 

The silence that follows is palpable with tension and Tobirama finds himself uncertain of how to break it, or if he should even try to when it is very likely they may devolve into outright fighting if he does so. 

“Madara—” 

“Tobirama—” 

The both of them pause, startled, before Tobirama awkwardly clears his throat and lifts his eyes to cautiously glance askance towards Madara. His husband is already staring back at him, an equally surprised expression painted on his features before a rueful smile eventually takes root across Madara’s lips. 

“And to think there are those that claim you are not passionate,” Madara thoughtfully murmurs. “What a pair we make. Both cast into rigid roles of expectation from the time we could walk, with little care given to the full cost of bearing such a weight, and yet—” his husband pauses then, leaving Tobirama on edge as he tries to keep up with the line of thought Madara has wandered down. 

“And yet?” Tobirama slowly dares to ask. 

“Do you think us damaged beyond repair, Tobirama? Ourselves and our bond?” Madara questions unexpectedly.

Hi hi, Lili! Yes, of course. Tbh I shouldn't have called them "pirates" they are known as such and treated like villains, but they're more like unofficial naval guard! The official naval guard was disbanded in the 90's due to the civil war that broke out [btw this civil war is why I'm diaspora! My maternal family fled to Djibouti or elsewhere. My dad came to Canada due to it.] Anyway! Other nations took advantage of this as they tended to do and started fishing illegally in the waters! Somali citizens rely on fishing to live [also farming and agriculture bc I also recall there was a drought and famine going on] so they turned to "piracy" to stop these thieves from stealing from them! Of course, these outsiders didn't like it and called it "piracy." they shouldn't be there in the first place!!!

I’m making this post for me for my brain for my sorting little thinker

The Ideal Polycule is of course made up of three different Self Ships, of which have their own separate S/Is with different dynamics and personalities. I, the real human person who smooches the full polycule, am sort of the combination of the three of them.

This is just a quick summery post of them as separate S/Is and their story as it currently is in their own Universe. I don’t know how to summarize things so forgive me I’m long winded.

Doctor Emile Hides - Assassination Classroom

Emile came to be the stand in Nurse for class 3-E soon after their return from Okinawa, where his medical knowledge would have surely been useful during the poisoning incident. It was a decision made by Karasuma, and urged by Koro-Sensei. The kids do some dangerous stuff, they could use an on sight professional.

He is not an assassin, nor does he plan to try his hand at killing Koro-Sensei, he’s just a collage student studying abroad who was picked up by Asano as a “good enough” for E Class.

Immediately he was fascinated by Koro-Sensei, or “Koro-San” as he calls him, and began doing his best to study the unkillable teacher in between bandaging students. Emile’s focus was Biology, and he eventually filled an entire notebook with questions and drawings about Koro-Sensei and, without much thought, presented it too the teacher, asking if he’d be willing to answer them.

Koro-Sensei agreed, filling out most of the questions in the notebook.. in Kanji. Which Emile couldn’t read. He also swore the Doctor not to show the book to anyone else, which Emile had agreed too. This was Koro-Sensei’s way of helping Emile learn Japanese.

The two spent a lot of time together after that, Koro-Sensei offering to tutor Emile in Japanese after class, which eventually lead to Koro-Sensei flying Emile home most nights, as they’d study so long in the faculty room Emile would miss the last train home.

Emile eventually confesses his romantic feelings for Koro-Sensei after soon after Reaper Time, and while Koro-Sensei is hesitant for multiple reasons, the two end up an official couple, which Koro-Sensei then cannot keep to himself and blabs about to the entire class.

During Winter Break Emile stays with Koro-Sensei in the empty Class E building, and studying possible ways to keep him from self destructing. This becomes his obsession until mid February on his birthday when Koro-Sensei finally convinces him to put it down and spend what time they have left together.

Emile wasn’t on the mountain during Koro-Sensei’s final moments, he’s not an assassin, he couldn’t evade the military like the students. Instead he called Nakamura to his apartment the night the students where infiltrating the mountain and asked her to deliver to Koro-Sensei his Birthday Cake, the first successful thing Emile had ever cooked.

Post timeskip Emile has settled into being a Manga artist, rather than going fully into the Medical Field like he had been expected to with how smart he was. He joins class 3-E in cleaning up the mountain every year on Koro-Sensei’s birthday, and brings homemade sweets for them every year.

Emile is a very quiet, shy, introverted person who, upon being separated from his twin brother, tended to keep to himself as much as possible and blend into the background. Being an Ultimate at Hope’s Peak didn’t really matter to him, he’d preferred to stay in his room with all his things nearby.

Moving to the dorms on campus was extra hard for Emile. Despite his title as the Ultimate collector the school didn’t allow him to bring his entire collection with him. Being so far away from all his favorite things was just too much stress for Emile, causing him to shut down even more than he would have already.

Teruteru Hanamura was the only one in the class to notice Emile didn’t eat lunch and took the responsibility to keep his classmate fed into his own hands. Despite Emile’s blatant refusal to speak, he didn’t mind being spoken to, leading to Teruteru to slowly, through questions and trials and errors, to learn what things Emile could and couldn’t eat as he shared his lunch with his fellow student every day.

Teruteru got use to one sided conversations. He took pleasure in cracking a smile on Emile’s face with his jokes, or when he’d say something so awful the quiet student couldn’t stop himself from unfurling to give him a slap on the shoulder. The first time Emile had the courage to speak to Teruteru sent him over the moon.

Emile only got better through Teruteru’s friendship. Despite being easily everyone’s least favorite classmate, Teruteru was still able to worm himself and Emile into group activities, forcing the collector into social situations that slowly opened him up to the rest of the class.

The next year, when Emile’s brother joined the 78th class as The Ultimate Collector Again, Emile found himself opening up even more, mingling between both classes along with Teruteru. Even joining an anime club his brother, Hifumi, and Celeste had started. 

When the biggest most awful most tragic event in human history struck, Emile fell into Despair along side the rest of his class, but instead of becoming an ultimate despair like them, folded in on himself again, shutting down into himself, becoming an immobile shell of a person.

Teruteru ended up taking Emile with him as he caused destruction and despair throughout the world, taking care of the other like a doll. At some point, due to his new cannibalistic habits, Teruteru safely removed and ate one of Emile’s legs.

Because of this, during the hope Program, Emile was considered more of a victim than an Ultimate Despair, and was not put into the simulation with the other students, but acted as more of a beta test to see if the system could work to recover the rest of his class from despair. During the events of the game Emile watches along side Future Foundation, waiting for his friends to come back to him.

Emile and Taishiro were classmates at Shiketsu High, their relationship started on one of annoyance, as Emile was far too touchy and nosy for Taishiro at the time. Emile sat in front of Taishiro, and took every spare moment to spin around and pester him with questions about himself, class, his quirk, the other students, and so on.

During their first sparring session, Taishiro was rather excited to have teacher’s permission to beat on the annoying kid who sat in front of him. However, due to his poor quirk management back in the day, Taishiro didn’t have near as much fat built up as he does now, and ended up on his ass at Emile’s hand multiple times.

After that, Emile was constantly offering Taishiro things to eat. Every time he turned around to talk to him in class, he’d come with something tasty and some tips on preserving fat cells. It took a while, but Taishiro eventually realized this was Emile’s attempts at being nice, in his own, slightly annoying ways, and slowly the two became real friends. Though Emile thought they were already besties.

Shiketsu is a very strict school, the students are to focus on their Hero Studies; No dating, no extra curriculars, strict curfews, ridged dorm expectations. Breaking the rules could risk immediate expulsion. But despite it all Emile ran free, broke curfew and snuck in and out whenever he pleased, typically dragging Taishiro along with him. He joined a local Baseball team without the school’s permission, and invited Taishiro to all his games. He had sleep over’s in his classmate’s rooms, and slept in the common area, and his contraband all throughout the dorms. The only rule he hadn’t actively broken was no dating.

Taishiro, slowly, found himself being thankful for that, because if that rule wasn’t in place, he’d asked Emile out right then and there. And if he’d found out his friend was dating someone, or asked someone out, Taishiro wasn’t sure his heart would ever recover.

Upon becoming Pro Heroes, Emile and Taishiro went their separate ways for a while. Emile falling more into the “Idol Hero” roll, as he joined a professional Quick Baseball League, where as Taishiro kept their high school streak of rule breaking alive and became an Undercover Hero breaking up fight clubs and chasing drug dealers under the radar. This is where most of their 20′s were spent.

They kept well in touch, back and forth whenever their schedules lined up, which was rare and always brief. Taishiro got better at saving up fat for his quirk, Emile became more and more of a heavy hitter, they grew older and wiser from their high school days of breaking out of the dorms at night, and eventually Emile confessed to Taishiro.

Soon after he joined the Fatgum agency, still playing Clean Up hitter for his own Baseball League, but mostly slowing down steadily into Hero Work, and apparently parenting as the Fatgum agency gains more and more interns every year.
