It’s Friday guys! What will you be reading today? Well, I was reading The Night Circus and suddenly I missed being in a Murakami story! So, I put the night circus on a pause and started The Wild Sheep Chase! And you know that saying: Never start a book before bed! 😁I stayed up late reading last night just because the story was so interesting and I preferred it to sleep! (That happens to me usually with Murakami!) Anyways, every time I pick up a book by him I just think that why didn’t I read this sooner? 🍁 Book Review🍁 « A wild sheep chase », a witty adventure! Another story by Haruki Murakami, the original version of which was published in 1982 and, like the rest of his books, has a very interesting and surprising plot with an unpredictable ending that is defined in a chaotic and mysterious atmosphere. I believe that the theme of this work is an allusion to the new dictatorial systems! And the sheep that penetrates and dissolves into the human being, and by taking control of his will, establishes a complex and extensive network, is a symbol of the propaganda system that dominates the society. A story that may remind the reader of "1984" by George Orwell. But with all these interpretations, at first glance, something around 100 pages of this 300-page novel seems redundant! It can be considered a postmodern work, but some of the structures are like classics, with the same vague descriptions of spaces and details and scenes and situations that are sometimes tiring. When a writer strives for such descriptions in the course of his narrative and thus goes through the story in this way, he often places a heavy burden on the writing, and the attractive form of the narrative, on the "language" and "prose" in order to avoid boredom. As a result, the whole story takes on a poetic tone that the reader is immersed in reading it. Which book got you into reading for the first time and how old were you? I remember trying to read and understand my dad’s books when I was a kid and it was very difficult for me! 😁But finally I found some books to my liking in his library; History books! Maybe because they felt like stories to me and since we didn’t have many novels at our library, I would just entertain myself by reading them! I probably was 11 or 12 years old when I first found out that I enjoyed reading so much and by the time I was 17, I’d read many books about Iran’s history and learned a lot!
