what does molsno even mean

it's short for moltensnow, an alias I made when I was like 10 because I loved the freezyflame galaxy in super mario galaxy. now molsno is just my default username on everything and something of an internet last name

it's almost never taken as a username which is why I still use it but there are a few annoying exceptions, with github being the worst case because OF ALL PLACES for me, a developer, to not have my usual username available, it should not be the thing that I put on literal resumé. the person who took it has never even done anything with the account 😑

What is the stupidest thing you've ever done? generally I'm a pretty cautious person. but the stupidest thing I've ever done was deny myself the ability to love trans women. it genuinely caused me years of anguish and self hatred

Stupidest thing you've seen/heard someone else do/say? that's a tough call with how often people try to get into stupid arguments with me on here. but probably the most ridiculous was the trans guy who was such a transmisogynist he invented the terms ATA and ATE, which stand for anti transmasculinity affected and anti transmasculinity exempt. barring that, probably the time my sister said she doesn't think anything that happened before the 1800s was real

Hyperfixation song? it changes fairly often but I think my most recent hyperfixation song is laura les - haunted. I'm not really a geccer but a friend linked me this song and I fell in love with it instantly

Is there any meaning behind your profile picture and/or username? my profile picture is my oc, asuka tachibana. small snippet of her personality description: "Asuka is a rude, egotistical person. She looks down on and belittles nearly everyone she comes into contact with, especially men, often for very petty and superficial reasons. Its massive ego is often undermined by an incredibly short fuse. When people snap back at its rude quips or otherwise threaten its superiority, it gets easily riled up, and will fight back until it wins." I have such a weird relationship with molsno as a name because like, ultimately it’s kind of Just a username but it’s laced with history

like it started off as moltensnow which I based off the freezyflame galaxy in super mario galaxy and then eventually got shorted to MolSno which is still what it is on most sites but like

ok so for context I literally always hated my deadname even as a little kid and when I was a teenager who spent most of my time online I really started to think of myself more as molsno than my deadname. that was what most of the people I talked to called me anyway, so for all intents and purposes it was my actual name

that sorta shifted as it fell out of use a little bit but I feel weird about it because like. there’s no reason it has to be a gendered name but I still largely associate it with this male persona because for the majority of its existence the person behind it (me) was treated as male. and like, I don’t hate the name itself, I just don’t like that association I have with it and I’m not really sure how to fix it? like, sure, I could ask people to call me molsno now so it can start to pick up a female association, but... why would I do that when I already have a name they can call me instead? I’m vivi and I love being vivi

I’m at the point where I almost consider molsno as a last name and I feel like that might be the best treatment for it. it’s been through one hell of a journey though
