Is it bad?
Okay, so I got a video and my thoughts mixed up. I was watching a Mr Hopp's Playhouse 2 video. When it got to the part of Molly separating from Esther and Isaac. Molly was like: "Why would I need Mr. Hopp, When I have Ms. Bo!" I was imagining Wally darling that time. And he was talking. Now that I've seen that in my head, I can't take the idea off. Is it bad?

Mr Hopp's playhouse The new girl part 1
Since the entity is gone everything has been at peace but one day everything changed one of the midwives named Ruth told all the children to pay attention since apparently a new friend has joined them.At the orphanage, everyone was left wondering who the new girl was, so when the matron sent her in, everyone stared at her since apparently the new girl's eyes had The left one was yellow and the right one was brown. Esther froze when she saw that she had in her arms a little rabbit that she knew was Mr. Hopp Esther froze with fear when the girl passed by. Esther looked at her and waited for her so she wouldn't think anything strange. The girl sat in a corner so as not to bother anyone since she Molly was shy and Isaac asked Esther to play hide and seek.Esther said not now that she had to talk to the new girl since she felt sorry for her. Her friends understood and decided to go play. Esther approached her and the new girl jumped out of fright. Esther looked up at her head and realized that her hair formed two cat ears, as if she were surprised. Esther apologized to the girl and decided to talk to her.
Esther: Hello, my name is Esther, what is your name?
Kazuki: oh Hello, my name is Kazuki...It's a pleasure to meet you...
Esther realized that Kazuki was shy so she decided to go slower to get to know each other better. What do you like to do? Esther asked Kazuki. Kazuki said that she likes to draw so Esther asked her. One of the midwives asked them to bring them some papers and some colors and they brought them the papers and they started to draw. Esther discovered that Kazuki drew very well, so she expired and started to draw.To the stuffed bunny and Esther when she finished drawing Esther was surprised by what she did when Mr. Hopp saw the drawing he was also surprised they had no words Esther or the Teddy.
Esther: wow you paint very well I love your drawing could you teach me to draw like you?!
Kazuki: yes of course I can teach you :)
Case proceeded to teach the sphere to draw but it was time to sleep so they decided to finish tomorrow when it was midnight Kazuki got up since he couldn't sleep Esther listened when Kazuki opened the door and decided to follow her. Mr. Hopp decided to follow Esther to find out where she was going.Esther discovered that there was a small room that led to the roof of the orphanage, she went up the stairs and saw Kazuki sitting watching the stars.
Esther: what are you doing here alone?
Kazuki: Esther you scared me!
Esther: sorry, I d How Mr. Hopp yes I Esther looked out where he is going to the ceiling listening to the girls' conversation he was wondering why Kazuki got up if he had not gotten up to attack He tried to leave but accidentally got his little legs stuck between the stairs and he almost fell, at least as his little legs got stuck in the stairwells, at least he didn't fall but he fell.Got stuck
Mr. Hopp: Ugh... Stupid staircase Ahsss...
I'm at home, they heard the voice of the teddy bear and decided to go see what the noises were coming from downstairs. The man heard the girls approaching so he gave up and decided to wait for her. They looked out to see if they could help him when if they wanted to we were surprised that their little stuffed animal had a life of its own but it was stuck and needed their help so they went down slowly so as not to fall. On top of the stuffed animal and accidentally hurting it, maybe they had an idea to make it move and be free, so they proceeded to try to pull it but they couldn't. Esther had an idea but She didn't know if it was going to work, but when she asked him for help, she made little puppy eyes and Esther obviously couldn't deny it, so she decided to help even though she and him hated each other. Esther asked him. When they grabbed Katsuki by the arms, Mr. Hopp thought they were going to hurt him, but instead he felt a feeling that he had never felt before: he began to tickle him between his armpits.Mr. Hopp started to laugh, Kazuki didn't know what I was trying to do, but in a moment, Kazuki realized what you wanted to do.
Mr hopp: HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA! ! Esther no no please! NOHOHOHOHOHOHO!
This memory when Mr. Hopp did the same thing to her and she almost couldn't breathe or react so she would take revenge for what Mr. Hopp did she was squirming to try to escape the Staircase he tried to let go of her hands but he couldn't Esther decided to take this a little further so he started to squeeze her ribs Mr. Hopp would start screaming with laughter Kazuki would start to smile and laugh a little as he was enjoying seeing how his poor stuffed animal was getting destroyed and he would start moving his fingers on the sides up and down. Mr. Hopp freed one of his paws and began to kick the ladder to free the other. Esther decided to take another place to see if she could free the other paw, so she began to scratch his stomach.Mr. Hopp would begin to cry with laughter the entity once did the same thing to him and thus Mr. Hopp would be left without air.
Mr.hopp:WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!ESTHER NOHOHOHOHOHOHO PLEASE PEDAHAHAHAHA!
Esther: what is the magic word
Mr. hopp:ESTHER NOHOHOHOHO NOHOHO !AAH! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Mr. hopp:OKEY OKEY SORRYHOHOHOHOHO YAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SORRY!AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
When Mr. Hopp screamed, his leg came off the ladder. Kazuki went backwards when the stuffed rabbit's leg came off.
Esther: Kazuki Alright!
Kazuki: Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry
Esther: Mr. Hopp, are you okay?
Mr. Hopp: yes, I'm fine ugh ugh ugh no... come back... do... that... okay ugh
Esther: hehe ok calm down it's over
Esther and Kazuki sat in a corner to rest and Mr. Hopp would begin to enjoy sleeping with Kazuki's legs.
Kazuki: oh really, you're tired eh hehe:)
Esther: hehe yes he is somewhat stubborn hnm.
The end To be continue?

Hey, could you write a hc where the s/o makes (forces) the boys play 'Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2'?
(Sorry if I misspelled something, English is not my native language)
The boys play "Mr.Hopp's Playhouse 2" :
Hi! I hope you are well! ^^
I've never played this game. So I wrote this after watching some spoilers and let's plays. (There are a lot of spoilers about the game.) I hope you enjoy it! ^^
Take care of yourself and have a nice day! ^^
Vladimir :
There's not much reason for him to play a video game… let alone a horror video game. He's only played a few games of Mario Kart and Professor Layton to please Ivan . But you were so insistent and your smiles to convince him were so hard to ignore… He didn't have the courage to refuse you for long. You seem to like this game after all, and he likes to please you.
He doesn't really like this game. For one thing, he doesn't understand little Esther. If his parents had ever given him a cuddly toy like Mr Hopp, he would have been horrified for weeks. It's not for nothing that he broke all his little sister's dolls when he was still a child. That rabbit just looks terrifying, what child would want a cuddly toy like that, seriously?
He doesn't really play and certainly not without you next to him. In fact, he can't get past the 2nd chapter. He keeps getting stopped by the Matrons. He closed his eyes when he saw Mr Stripes appear and hid his face in his hands when he saw Miss Bo.
You end up doing the game for him as he gets caught for the umpteenth time by the Matrons. It seems too complicated for him anyway.
As long as you're playing he'll complain about just about everything: "Why are there spikes in the ground?" "Why are giant hands trying to grab your character?" "Why is this rabbit so scary? Why is Isabelle so mean?" "Why is this entity trying so hard to kill you?" "Couldn't you suggest a gentler, cuter game?" He'd like to stop closing his eyes and hiding behind you every time something scary appears.
If you were planning to play this game to spend your time reassuring him, you've succeeded. He won't complain about it though, after all, it's quite nice to see the attention you give him to reassure him, almost as much as when you watch horror films together. He might agree to play another horror video game with you, as long as you continue to reassure him.
Béliath :
He doesn't play many video games because there aren't many that he likes, although he does sometimes play when he wants to please Ivan or Ethan. So of course he wasn't going to say no when you asked him if he wanted to play Mr Hopps playhouse 2. Horror video games aren't his favourite games, although he hasn't told anyone in the manor, he loves playing Otome games and Visual novels. However, he's happy to oblige you by trying out the game you've suggested.
It takes him a while to get the hang of it, but once he does, he finds it quite fun. He's really into the story of little Esther, and he's not very fond of Molly. "She called me crazy! Esther and I are not crazy! That girl is horrible, I don't like her". He doesn't like the design of the toys. A cuddly toy is supposed to be reassuring and cute, he'd never give a child a stuffed rabbit like that!
He plays pretty well for someone who's not used to video games. He gets through the first few levels easily and listens to your advice on how to avoid matrons, spades, Mr Hopps and the rest. It's easy for both of you to get to the end of the game, and he's pretty proud of himself for getting there without asking you to do certain levels for him.
He deeply hates the ending. "Why would she do that? Esther would never do that, it's not fair." He asks you to write, create, direct, draw another ending, anything as long as it doesn't go like that.
He really enjoyed this time with you and is ready to play another horror game with you, as long as it has a more positive ending.
Ivan :
Ivan plays a lot of video games, and enjoys them all to the extent that he keeps a laptop hidden away in his bedroom so that he can continue to play them despite Vladimir's ban. He likes the classic games, like Mario, Zelda or Sims, but he's never against a bit of novelty, even if he doesn't have as many opportunities to discover new games as he did when he was human. He sometimes plays the Otome game that Beliath introduces to him, even though he finds it much harder than the incubus to assume. He knew the game by name and had already played Mr.Hopps playhouse, but he'd never played the sequel. So when you offered to play it with him, he immediately accepted.
He's such an excellent player that it's almost frustrating to watch him succeed at everything he does. He's quickly attached himself to little Esther and he really wants to save everyone in the orphanage. It's important to him, he knows he won't be able to sleep until he's finished the whole game. He's always talking to you about the previous game and if you've played it too, he's even happier to be able to share his enthusiasm with you.
He's shocked by the ending when he spots Ruby. He immediately turns to you and exclaims "MC! It's so unfair! This game never really ends well! Poor Ruby! This can't be happening! I can't accept this!" He soon gets over it, though, and continues to tell you about the story with enthusiasm. He has other game ideas to play with you, like Five nights at Freddy's.
A few days later, he comes back to you in an even better mood to exclaim. "MC, they've created a Mr.Hopps playhouse 3. Do you want to come and play with me? I'll get some popcorn and we'll spend the night playing!"
Aaron :
Aaron is not a video game player. He rarely plays them, and only DS games when Ivan comes to see him to play Mario Kart. So he agrees to play this game just to please you and because you seem to like it so much. He likes a bit of horror video games, but they're not his favourites and he'd much rather play an RPG.
It takes a little time for him to understand how the game works and to remember which keys to press, but once he does he's a pretty good player. He'll need a bit of practice to get through the more difficult levels, but with your help to get hints and tips he'll get there quickly.
He sometimes makes a few comments: "Why does Esther leave her room in the middle of the night? That rabbit looks far too dangerous for her alone, she should find an adult!" He doesn't really understand why the adults at the orphanage don't react when a little girl complains about hearing voices, seeing three newly-bought stuffed animals moving around and two children disappearing. Sure, it's a horror video game, but… is it normal for adults to be so stupid?
He doesn't like the ending: "It can't end like this, MC! Poor Esther, poor Ruby. We should be able to do something to help her, I can't let the bad guy win. It's far too sad Rubis doesn't deserve this and his grandmother fought too well, it's unfair!"
When he finds out about the 3, he insists on playing it with you. He has to take revenge on Mr Hopps, he can't leave a little girl in this situation. He's going to defeat this creature at all costs, and Esther and Rubis will finally be safe.
Raphaël :
He doesn't really like video games, and there are very few video games adapted to his blindness, so he hardly ever plays them. However, he does enjoy watching other people play, especially if they're playing an RPG, otome game or visual novel. In fact, he'd really like otome games and visual novels to be adapted for him. You didn't have much trouble convincing him to stay with you while you played.
He's constantly worried about little Esther and her friends. He doesn't like your description of the cuddly toys, "Cuddly toys are supposed to be cute, why do they look scary? "Why would adults give scary stuffed animals to children?!" "Wait MC! Why are you saying that there are spikes and axes hanging from the ceiling in this orphanage?! What kind of orphanage has that kind of thing?"
He quickly becomes totally absorbed in the game's story. Sure, it looks scary, but it's still not as scary as Aaron's horror stories. But that doesn't stop him worrying whenever you cross paths with Miss Bo, Mr Hopps or Mr Stripes. "Run and hide MC, don't let him get little Esther!"
He is genuinely upset by the ending. "What do you mean MC, what do you mean Esther is giving Mr Hoops to her granddaughter?" It's far too horrible for him, it even makes him want to weep over the fate of poor little Ruby. He spends the rest of the night with a sad look on his face until you tell him that you can make things right with the correct ending of the 3rd game. Of course he wants you to play it - you've got to save little Ruby!
Ethan :
Ethan really enjoys video games, as long as they're not war games. He's a very good gamer, although he has a slight tendency to get annoyed when he can't get past a certain level. He loves all the Ace Attorney games, but also Professor Layton, although a little less so. He also really likes horror video games, as long as they're not gory horror. He sees enough blood in his daily life not to want to see any when he's trying to relax. When you ask him to try this game he immediately accepts. Firstly, you seem to enjoy playing a game with him and secondly, he doesn't know the game and is happy to discover it with you.
He likes this game, it won't be his favourite, but it's fairly easy to play once you get used to it, and the story is very interesting for him, who likes mysteries. He wants to understand what's going on as quickly as possible. He quickly realises that Dee isn't who she says she is and he's angry that he can't allow Esther to find out. "MC, she's stupid! You can tell Dee's one of the bad guys! What's the point of playing if I can't kill her now!"
The end really pisses him off. "It's not fair MC! I did everything I could to protect Esther. He shouldn't win. Why is she giving Mr Hopps to her granddaughter? The story can't end like this!" He ruminates on the ending for several days until he comes up with the rest of the game.
He'll immediately come and find you to play with him. He's not going to let it end that way anyway. There's no way a simple video game villain can defeat him.
Neil :
Neil doesn't excel at video games and, as with anything he doesn't master perfectly, that really annoys him. He likes RPGs and he loves management games - the more complicated the management, the better. He won't hesitate to spend hours on them until he knows the game by heart. When you asked him to play this game, he was initially reluctant to refuse. It's not at all the kind of game he likes, but after some thought he accepted. It's a game that you seem to enjoy and if that's all you want to do to make yourself happy, then he sees no reason to refuse you.
He has a bit of trouble with the keys, which forces him to start each level several times, especially at the beginning. Once he's used to it, he loses less often, to his great satisfaction. The only problem is that Neil is not really a calm player, although he is never angry with Esther, but always with all the other characters.
"Who does Molly think she is? Esther is so much better than her!" "What is it with you humans, always locking people in cellars?! It's barbaric, stop doing that." "I don't like that Beverley. Esther should leave that orphanage and go and live somewhere else!" "Are they all stupid in that orphanage?! Esther is a busy girl, she shouldn't be wasting her time saving them, my little is far too nice to them, she deserves better!"
He's really angry about the end, how dare the villain attack his little Esther again! He complains to you for a long time about this, things shouldn't be like this, he refuses. But he calms down when you tell him that the 3rd game has a more positive ending. And of course he wants to play it, he can't leave Esther in this situation, she needs his help.
Léandra :
Léandra rarely plays video games, not that she doesn't like them. It's just that it's not her favourite thing to do, but she loves fighting games and horror games, and she's often asked you to play them with her. So when you came to see her to ask her to play this game, you didn't have to be very insistent to convince her.
She's a pretty good player. She easily understands how the game works and doesn't have much trouble adapting to it to win. She also catches on to the story very quickly. Which she wouldn't have thought possible at first and her instincts are pretty good. "MC… I'm not feeling Dee at all. She's one of the evil ones, isn't she?" "MC… I don't think it's possible to win against them… They're too strong for the little one and there are too many of them. Esther's going to lose."
She really likes the ending. It's a bit depressing to see that you can't do anything about the villain and that he'll always find a way to get the better of you somehow. It's not what you expect from a video game and that's exactly why she likes it. It's reassuring for her, a succubus brought up on that principle. She knows that no matter what she does she'll never win against her mother, and seeing Esther lose confirms that principle for her.
When you suggest playing 3, she's frankly reluctant. Admittedly, the ending is more positive, but doesn't it spoil everything to win against them in the end? Mr Hopps and the entity will eventually come back anyway, and if it's not Esther or Ruby it'll be another child, so what's the point in trying to defeat them?
Farah :
She rarely plays video games, as she doesn't have the time to do so because she has to manage her pack and, what's more, electricity isn't the most common thing to find in the middle of the forest. She's never against the idea of playing video games, though, and she's already tried her hand at a few management games, often encouraged by younger members of the pack. She's already played Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, and she has to admit that they're games that she's really enjoyed; if it were easier for her to own a games console, she'd probably play them more often.
When you offered her the chance to play Mr.Hopps playhouse 2 with you, she immediately accepted. She's not very good at it, though, and while she managed to get through the first few chapters without asking you for help, she needs your help to finish the game from chapter 5 onwards. She also takes the plight of the children in the orphanage very much to heart. "The poor children must be frightened and Esther must be terrified, poor thing. I would be if I were her, it's horrible that the adults don't protect them, me at least I had my brother…"
She finds the ending really sad, "Why do things have to end like this? Ruby is just a child and her grandmother would never have wanted to hurt her… It's not fair on them."
She's quite reassured when you tell her that the end of 3 is different, and she hopes she'll soon get the chance to play it with you to change things. After all, she doesn't like to fail, and she doesn't feel good about leaving Esther and Ruby in this situation.

Here’s what I think the Mr. Hopp’s Playhouse Crew [plushies included] would post if they had a Tumblr account lol:
[Made for fun because I’m bored] Kiddos:
Esther: probably wouldn’t post often. If she posts it would usually be a reblog. [Might post poems or something like that lol]
Issac: I dunno really lol
Molly: Celebrites. Maybe a few post about how she wants to be a actress or something.
Billy: Sports maybe? Probably tags Dee in posts he thinks she would like lol
Dee: Probably normal things with a undertone of weirdness in-between the lines. Post would be pretty unhinged at the hours of 12-4 am. [Maybe posts Art every once in a while?] Isabelle: Tumblr? What’s that. [Doesn’t have one. Does not know how technology works lmao]
Ruby: Probably wouldn’t have one. If she did it would be plushies mainly.
Demon Plushies:
Mr. Hopp: Blank blog lol /j Maybe a few posts but doesn’t post often.
Mr. Stripes: keyboard smash mostly.
Miss Bo: Pink. Lots of pink.
The Entitiy: Dee made it get one. Doesn’t use it. Has maybe 5 or six posts.
I didn’t include some characters [Ruby’s parents, Miss Beverly, the matrons] because we don’t know much about them lol.
Neato!

So I made some sketches for MHP2 that kind of go with this. I wanted to distort Mr. Hopp more as a demon, so I made him bigger and more animalistic, and drew him pulling his own music box string like how his music box plays when he’s present in the games. I based this design off a 1950s toy with a plastic face, which are my favorite type of vintage toys.
Since we don’t know what happens between Mr. Hopp’s Playhouse 1 and 3, I’m just taking the lore we know so far and running with it.
I think Isabelle- the girl that the demonic entity uses as a vessel- was an orphan, just like Esther. The fan wiki page refers to the woman who seemed to take care of her as her mother, but I imagined her as a matron of an orphanage just like Beverly and the other adults were to Esther’s orphanage, back in the 1600s where I don’t even think orphanages existed we’re just going with it.
Isabelle was a curious girl, but never meant any harm. However, being a troubled orphan girl her intentions and emotions were easily twisted by the entity. But while Isabelle was a sufficient vessel, she was imperfect. She was flawed, harboring a dark side already. It corrupted her, and then used her to draw in and find a perfect soul. Controlling the three toys that had belonged to Isabelle, which were repaired and modernized before donation to the Blacklands Manor Orphanage in 1952, the entity found its next target in Esther.
Now, Esther was similar to Isabelle. Curious, mischievous but well meaning, and insecure in life, in a perfect place to be manipulated. The entity even used this, telling Esther, who was given up during WWII, with Isabelle’s voice, that she was “abandoned- just as I was.” While it’s more likely Isabelle was outright abandoned by her parents for whatever reason (perhaps believing her to be demonic in some right?), the readable page on Blacklands Manor tells us that it’s more likely all of the children there in Esther’s time lost their parents due to war or were given up as a result of it. Esther was less troubled than Isabelle, and more kind, even considering one of the biggest “bullies”, Molly, at the orphanage to be her second best friend and playing with her regularly despite her always being rude and insulting Esther. The entity likely saw Esther as a better vessel than Molly due to the mutual bullying between Molly herself and the other orphan children, mostly perpetrated by Molly. She was therefore flawed and an inferior vessel to Esther, and she and Isaac were “discarded.” (Killed, but rescued by Esther in her escape from the entity)
Despite having thought that she defeated Isabelle and the demonic entity in 1952, what Esther was unable to realize was that while it kept Isabelle after “discarding” her as Mr. Stripes and Miss Bo did to Isaac and Molly respectively, it had latched onto and infested her while she was searching to break Isabelle’s hold on the orphanage and save the kids and matrons- which, honestly, she wouldn’t have even been unjust in wanting them to remain discarded and dead, given how emotionally abusive the head of the orphanage, Miss Beverly, was and how all the other matrons simply willingly perpetuated the abuse of these fucking orphan kids. I think a part of it as that this is really all the life Esther ever knew as a child. WWII started in 1939, and given I imagined Esther as ten in 1952, if she were born in 1942 the war was already well underway and she may not have ever lived in kinder conditions. She had a good heart, but she suffered immensely and that was all she ever really knew. She was ultimately imperfect as well.
But the entity believed in her bloodline. It stayed within her, locking the part of her it had infested in her own body as a child, and waited until her guard would be down, until it could manipulate her to transfer the curse to its new victim: a little girl named Ruby, Esther’s granddaughter. Ruby grew up in a stable home, with a loving mother and father who had a strong relationship. It was everything that Isabelle and Esther had lacked. Stability, comfort, kindness to prevent them from being tainted. Ruby was a kind soul full of love and wonder.
Ruby was pure, and thus perfect.
When Esther got old and began to slip away, it influenced her to give the toys to Ruby, passing the curse onto her, and Esther was discarded the next day.
Shortly after, now that Ruby was in a position where she needed security and comfort having lost her beloved nana, the entity took action, slaughtering her parents leaving nothing behind, and making her a newly orphaned, abandoned yet untainted vessel ripe for the picking.
When Ruby escaped the house, she left Mr. Hopp there, and was brought into the back of a police car. Her neighbor had called the cops out of concern for her safety hearing screaming and pounding coming from inside. The police were armed and aiming at the door, expecting the first person to leave to be an intruder. Instead, it was a shaky, teary-eyed little girl in pink pajamas who held her hands up immediately, dropping a small bunny-eared toy slingshot.
Being the number one key witness, Ruby was questioned, but wouldn’t answer anything. “I had a bad dream,” was all she would say when asked what happened.
“How did you get the slingshot if it was just a bad dream?”
“I must’ve sleepwalked.”
“And unlocked a safe in your parents’ closet in your sleep?”
“Mhm.”
“You were terrified when you left the house. Why did you leave the house?”
“I woke up afraid.”
“When did you wake up?”
“When I stepped outside. It was cold.”
“And the whole time before that, you were dreaming.”
“Mhm.”
“What did you dream about?”
“…Mr. Hopp. He killed my parents… and my nana. And he was gonna kill me.”
“Mr. Hopp, the stuffed rabbit right behind the front door?”
“Mhm.”
“…Ruby… bad dreams don’t kill people. You say you dreamed ‘Mister Hop’ killed your mom and dad, but we need to understand how it happened outside your dream.”
“It was Mr. Hopp.”
“The rabbit toy in your dream?”
“Mhm.”
“Look, Ruby, I understand what you saw was traumatic, but your dream won’t help us. We need to understand what happened in real life, okay? You fell asleep with Mister Hop, woke up when your house was broken into, and found your parents murdered. You left when the cops came, and dropped Mister Hop off right outside the front door. Is that right?”
“No.”
“Where are we wrong?”
“I never moved Mr. Hopp out of my room.”
Ruby is moved into an orphanage just like her two predecessors, but the entity has latched on to her, waiting for its chance to infest her. After all, she is the perfect vessel.
So as she’s settled into the orphanage, kids pushed away from asking her about her parents’ murder, and sent to bed to recharge so she can adjust to her new situation, she finds herself beginning to slip into something out of reality. The hands of the demon are beginning to pull her strings, forcing her into a prison outside of reality.
When she goes to bed that night, she wakes up in an old looking manor. It looks like the backdrop of the one photo her nana kept on her walls. The rest of them are of her, Ruby’s mum Jenna, and Ruby’s grandpa, a rich, caring man Ruby wishes she remembered better, but that one is different. That one looks exactly like where she is now.
It’s full of things Ruby doesn’t recognize. A song she’d heard her nana sing plays discordantly and distortedly through a phonograph, books she’s never read line the shelves in the rooms, all things that look far older than Ruby herself, or even her nana.
Even more than that, there are notes all over. Some seem to be about her, “she can never know the truth, she had been chosen, she is perfect,” but others are about someone else, “this was her favorite song, she knew, she knew all along.” And the halls are roamed by strange spirits of things that look burned to a crisp, carrying torches and pitchforks. Almost all of it seems familiar, like she should know what it all means.
And she realizes when she passes through a painfully short hall that looks just like her home and comes across a girl tied up and locked behind bars that emanate a dark aura. The girl tied up is the perfect image of Ruby’s nana Esther in the photo. Exactly as she was in 1952, when she first encountered Mr. Hopp.
Once Ruby manages to dispel the dark force keeping Esther locked and tied up, she has to help Esther, disoriented from almost seventy years hanging limp and helpless, to stand and walk properly. But she really can’t believe what she’s seeing. Even as she physically holds Esther’s hand and helps her off the ground, she can’t stop staring, and when Esther meets her eyes, Ruby can’t stop from trying to confirm whether this is real or not.
“…Nana?”
“What?”
“Is it really… you? How is this possible?”
“I don’t know- why are you calling me Nana? I don’t understand-”
“Nana- Esther… it’s me, Ruby, your granddaughter! What’s going on?”
Esther’s eyes widen and her jaw begins to drop, a smile slowly beginning to spread across her face.
“I have a granddaughter?!”
Esther is overjoyed at this news and ecstatic that she got to have a family of her own. Ruby entertains this, telling her about what their family was like, which of her parents was Esther’s child, how they lived a half hour away but came to visit as much as possible, and how Jenna was always happy to see her mum, David was close to her too, and there was nothing better in the world than seeing Nana to Ruby… but it’s starting to sink on her. Esther is dead, and she’s only here because of the entity’s curse. If they manage to stop it, then Esther will disappear, and with that, Ruby will truly have nothing left. Her nana will be gone forever, as are her mum and dad already, never to come back to her. She doesn’t remember if she even got a goodnight kiss from her parents that night. If she even asked for one, or if she was embarrassed to not be a “big girl” yet. That was her last chance to tell them she loved them and she blew it.
Esther is so caught up in the euphoria of a family of her own that Ruby being overtaken by the horrible memories of the night she lost her parents and starting to cry takes her by surprise, a cold, sudden shock to the system that hits her hard as she puts two and two together, the understanding setting in like ice in her stomach.
Esther’s daughter- no, both of Ruby’s parents- are dead because of Mr. Hopp. It got away from her despite everything she did to keep it contained and it destroyed Ruby’s life entirely.
At this point, Esther doesn’t know the motive behind doing such a thing, or how the entity wants a pure vessel in a vulnerable place to be manipulated. All she knows is that despite everything she went through, the entity got out of her grasp and went after one of the most important people she ever had. And she wants to put it in its place.
The dichotomy of Esther (and Ruby) wanting to stop the entity versus Ruby having lost everything and not wanting to let go of this one fragment of her beloved nana creates an interesting conflict as well, one that is absolutely not going to be canon bc as I said I’m just taking shit and running with it but ties into my MHP3 bad ending prediction where Ruby is manipulated by the entity and taken over. Its pure, good hearted, perfect vessel, its ultimate goal complete, at the cost of dozens upon dozens of human lives thrown away like discarded toys.
I love how with vintage stuff like those toys with plastic faces you like them, while I was immediately like 😃🔥 upon reading that description lmao-

Caught in a Plush trap
This is a Mr. Hopp's Playhouse tickle fic requested by @damingdollface. I hope you enjoy it!
___________________________________________
Her breath was shallow as Esther quietly tiptoed through the manor's halls. The situation she was in, while strange, was also horrifying.
It all started with those nightmares...
Those awful dreams were she was burned, chased, and slaughtered in many various ways. Shadows of monsters hunted her down, for what purpose, she didn't know.
Then, it was the arrival of the children's new toys...
3 plush animals stood out from the box, a tiger, a panda, and a rabbit. Esther and her two friends, Molly and Issac, decided to keep them. To Esther, they seemed...oddly familiar. Little did she know her dreams were actually premonitions for what was to come.
Somehow, an otherworldly force brought the toys to life, and they had a strong lust for blood. Everyone had disappeared without a trace, and she now needed to complete a ritual to stop it all. All she needed was salt, sage, a trinket, and 9 candles.
She needed to be very quiet, or Mr. Hopp would hear. Unfortunately, the 5 candles she still needed were nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, the fuzzy song of a music box faded in.
Mr. Hopp was rushing toward her. With little time to react, Esther dove into a small cabinet, and waited. Eventually, the music faded, indicating that the rabbit was gone, and she carefully crawled out. With a sigh of relief, she continued her search.
-BANG!-
That sudden noise caught her attention, she turned to the end where the noise came from, and slowly backed away.
Suddenly, Esther bumped into something, it was tall, soft, and furry.
Mr. Hopp.
Esther screamed, frozen in her place as the rabbit growled, baring his teeth. Before she regained her senses, two large, clawed hands scooped her up. She shouted, kicked, punched and pulled, but nothing could deter the demon.
Mr. Hopp smiled, his buck teeth and many sharp ones flashed, ready to rip Esther apart. He dug his claws into her sides, and waited for her to scream in pain.
But the screams never came...
Instead there was.....giggling?
Hopp scanned her expression, she was smiling! Prey shouldn't smile! They should cower in fear! Angrily, he dug his claws deeper, hoping to get the result he wanted.
"AHHAHAHAHAHA!" Esther burst out in laughter, squirming around to get away to no avail. Now, Mr. Hopp was even more pissed! She was undermining him! Laughing at his expense! How dare this feeble child!
Furious, Mr. Hopp started wiggling his claws, waiting for bloodshed. But instead of that, all that he got was another wave of laughter from Esther.
Suddenly, he realized why she wasn't in pain, his claws were too fuzzy and soft to cause any harm!
Curse the Entity for making him a plush rabbit!
"D-DOHOHOHOHOHON'T IT TIHIHIHIHICKLES!" She cackled.
"Tickles"? Hopp had heard about tickling before, he witnessed it as he observed the children of the orphanage playing, and it made him very curious. This curiosity replaced the rage, this was his perfect opportunity to learn more!
Hopp's claws stopped digging, letting Esther catch her breath. The demon repositioned the girl, now cradling her in his arms, and scanned her up and down.
He decided to start at her stomach, lightly scribbling the tips of his claws on her tummy. This caused Esther to squeal out in laughter, squirming around once more. "EHAHAHAHA! NOHOHOHO!" She laughed.
Mr. Hopp smiled, much more playfully this time. How could you now smile when you have a giggling child in your arms? He decided to dig his claw into her belly button, causing her laugh to go up an octave.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOOOO! STOHOHOHOHOHOHOP!" She cackled, now kicking her legs out.
The rabbit's hand was going everywhere, from her sides, to her belly, to her belly button, to her neck, and alternated from all of these spots, never giving Esther the chance to prepare.
"EEEK! NOHOHOHOHOHO! ST-STAHAHAHAHAHAP IT! ENOHOHOHOHOUGH!" She screamed, thrashing and kicking.
Esther couldn't handle much more of this, she had to escape. Then an idea popped into her head. Suddenly, she reached out, and dug her hands into Hopp's underarms.
The demon shrieked, quickly dropping Esther and wrapping his arms around his torso. With the power of sheer adrenaline, Esther ran from the rabbit, down the stairs, and hid in a bedroom to catch her breath and rest before she continued her search for the candles.
