I think Stardew is a little closer to posting because I haven’t fully decided how much I want to rehash Helgen for Lucia.

Are you looking for a good time? Look no further. Molly has the solution for you! While I have only recently started on this magical adventure, I have read more than enough to be able to safely and surely say that you will not be in any way disappointed here.

Molly's writing is just absolutely fantastic and her style has humor, whimsy, and a good dose of puns scattered throughout. Follow Sophrine in her gap year as she tries (and fails) to escape her destiny to be--thrusted (unfairly mind you, she was only asking for directions!) onto the cart and find her way as the Dragonborn of legend.

I can't recommend this enough, and I cannot tell you the last time I had this much fun when I was reading a fic! Very binge-able just like an entire bag of Ilse's snowberry and cheese danishes. (At least that is what Dahlia would say.)

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

Ohh boy. I think a lot of my stuff is very soft and easy to read, but probably my Mollymauk fic It's Time You Come Home. A lot of love went into that fic, it means a lot to me bc some days I'm still in denial that Molly wasn't there for the entire campaign.

💖 What made you start writing?

I think I've always done creative writing, but I started taking it more seriously in 2011. I'm gonna sound like such a nerd but I loved the video game Skyrim very much and wanted to write about my character and her adventures beyond the main plot lol. Eventually she evolved from a Skyrim oc to the main character in my made up world.

🤯 What's a genre you struggle with as a writer (ex. romance, action, etc.)?

Oof. Hm. I want to say action? I think it's because in film/animation you can actually *see* what's happening at the filmmaker's desired pace. When I write fight scenes, it's hard and slow and I get impatient with myself. I have a sci fi story in the works but it's less about fighting and mór about worldbuilding x

molly loves video games even if shes bad at most of them ... some of her favs to PLAY include animal crossing, stardew valley, dating sims, pixel rpg horrors (she sux at them but she considers the frustration and time put into it a big part of enjoying those types of games, more time to appreciate it!), cooking mama, probably like nintendogs idk i didnt play it but basically any cutesy ds game as her heart. she plays some legend of zelda games but... she is really bad at them (so am i). She also plays games like skyrim, minecraft, roblox (lol), and mario kart / other racing games! She's actually decent at those and YES i did just decide this on a whim and YES i am projecting. I will beat you all at mario kart

for games she can't play because they're too hard, she just watches lets plays! Some games she enjoyed watching at least are probably along the lines of the silent hill franchise, the resident evil franchise, and really a lot of first and third person shooter games with zombies, monsters, whatever as long as it isn't a war game.

Molly likes dnd!!!!!! She probably plays as a dark elf rogue in a campaign she's in, and like an orc barbarian in another. She's very diverse and scarily knowledgable sometimes

POKEMON. No team strategy, just cuteness and aesthetics. Fairy, poison, and psychic. Ghost too. Nuff said.

Molly's home planet requires every able lithian to serve as a government worker in some process of infiltrating and studying other planets. Molly was a field agent, a direct researcher before she [REDACTED]. Part of the training for this job IS combat in case of emergency, and lithians tend to be stronger than humans, and probably up around the same level as seadweller trolls are. Molly looks really fragile but her phtsical form itself is an illusion so uer true strength cannot be obvious but its there buddy. it is There. She doesnt tend to use these skills much on Alternia, even when she needs to. She tends to keep body guards or her strong friends around until things get real bad. She doesn't want to draw THAT kind of unnecessary attention to herself.

Molly's "lusus" is a giant alien tarantula basically! She adopted her while visiting some other wild ass planet and they've been inseparable since! Molly loves her pet minecraft spider and spoils it like a rich lady with a chihuahua (but not beyond reason...)

Molly sings!! It's probably obvious i think idk i feel like ive mentioned it before at least. She's good at it! Which isnt surprising because she naturally has near full control of her voice in order to imitate other aliens, much like she can shapeshift to do the same. She just thinks it's fun, though! She looooves music and dancing. She's got rhythm and she craves it gjsjdjamf

I HOPE i remember this later but as im writing this i think molly would probanly eat just about any food. She's so adaptable because of the huge imitation part of her species but she will eat literally any food you give her. She might not prefer some things but there's very few, if any, foods she actually hates

WIP Wheneversday

I've been tagged by @totally-not-deacon for WIP Wednesday a couple times and never really had anything to share when they tagged me, but right now I've got a bit of a semi-productive high happening so I want to share part of the first chapter of my Skyrim fic! It's still definitely a WIP because I'm a lame-o who actually loves the vanilla tutorial, so I'm working on translating Helgen from the game to an engaging written narrative. Evening, Loredas, 16th of Last Seed, 4E201, Darkwater Crossing

Visiting Darkwater Crossing is always bittersweet. It’s here I take stock of my supplies and begin the trip back home to Whiterun. As much as I love the freedom of traveling the province alone, with no greater goal than Mother’s supplies lists, seeing the leaves of the Rift turn golden always makes me ache for home.

Mother generally expects me to return around the start of Hearthfire, so that she can get her stocks replenished for the city guards before winter frosts make things difficult. Plus, very occasionally, I am able to coax her out of the shop for an evening for harvest festivities. Last year’s festival was particularly memorable for us both… That said, with the rising tensions coming from Windhelm and Solitude, I wouldn’t be too surprised if the harvest festival is canceled this year.

But it makes sense. It was still relatively peaceful when I left Whiterun during Second Seed, but at that time, Ulfric had not yet visited High King Torygg in the Blue Palace.

In any case, I’m sure it will all be fine. Mother has made herself valuable to Whiterun and I don’t see anything changing that. Rulers may change, but people will always need their apothecaries and alchemists.

Lucia groaned, her head throbbing in pain with each bump of the wagon.

The Nord sitting across from her continued, “You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there."

“Cross the border? What? No? I was heading back home to Whiterun after spending the summer foraging…” Suddenly panicking, Lucia looked around the cart. “Ysmir’s beard! Where are my bags?!”

The other man across from her spat onto the floor of the wagon, “Damn you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I could've stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell. You there... You and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these Stormcloaks the Empire wants."

Lucia looked between the two men on the other side of the wagon as the blond man, wearing what she recognized as Stormcloak gear, said, “We're all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief."

Fuck. This isn’t good. Mother is going to be so upset. Months of gathering ingredients wasted and she’ll have no stock for the winter. Lucia wanted to chew on a fingernail, but the bindings on her wrists made it awkward, so she settled for the inside of her lip.

The legionnaire driving their wagon shouted at them, "Shut up back there!" The blond Stormcloak rolled his eyes as the horse thief next to him winced.

Why did I choose my url: Originally I was outofcontrolfangirlingotaku (R.I.P) and then I decided to change it to the one I have now. The reason I did was because my mum really loved Odd Nerdrum, and so I thought I’d steal his name, but I then dropped the second ‘r’ by accident. I liked how it sounds like “odd nerd, um” so I kept it.

What i’m wearing: Black track pants and a grey hoodie with the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) logo, which I stole from my Step-dad. He’s fascinated by aircraft. 

Dream job: Something to do with linguistics, but I don’t know what I would want to do specifically. Maybe teaching because I love the idea of passing down knowledge. A tourist guide would be fun, but I don’t think they make much? All I know is that I’d love to work in a friendly environment, travel and use my skills in languages. 

Dream trip: I know I will probably visit France and Japan in my lifetime, probably other places, but I would love to visit Russia safely, if it either is stable and safe. It’s the country where my family is from and the culture I grew up in, so I would love to go and experience it! But at the moment, I wouldn’t. I would also love to visit the Middle-Eastern countries to see they’re architecture, they’re food and other sites, because it is honestly so beautiful from the images I have seen. Right now though, again, I don’t think I’d feel very safe there. Maybe even a tour around Australia and learning about various Aboriginal clans and tribes. I enjoy those talks so much, and the sense of community is great. It would be an honour if I could join them in some ceremonies even.

Top 3 fictional universes I wanna join: I think I would like to join Skyrim, because I have had an obsession with archery for a really long time (I even did it for a bit, before it became costly) and there’s so much to do in the game (crafting and improving and spells and travelling), plus the design is awesome. Maybe Harry Potter - but that flame has kind of died down. The fictional world in Never Let Me Go would be really interesting to live in, but also be extremely conflicting as it deals with many ethical issues.

I love Skyrim -- and I love those shaved-head boys in the utilikilts that play Warhammer and singing Flogging Molly at karaoke -- so I think about this a lot. It always comes back to the question: What possible sequel to Skyrim could there be that presses and lights up those same Celtic / Nordic buttons that these boys love so much? The second video game I ever played was Dragon Age, and the first one was Mass Effect -- franchises that are consciously and aggressively Canadian/post-racial/socialist -- so I've accidentally sidestepped the whole question; I was literally handed Elder Scrolls by Stephen C. Fornal many years ago with a very loving "Trust me, I know you" and I never looked back. (And thank God for that boy, as always.) But I remain struck by the fantasy here... And I still can't come up with anything that commercial. It's not about those who just love it because it's good -- it's thinking about what could possibly sell to those same boys, at that same level, and what those questions imply about all of us. Would you be happy playing a half-assed Mediterranean or Arabic fantasy, like D&D and Magic keep selling -- and if the answer is no, which is it: Is it because it's inherently less good, which sucks, or because the white boys that run those companies didn't make those offshoots awesome enough, which sucks more? There isn't a bad guy in this story, but there is a lot to dig deep with, and I like that. We want white history because we are white and because our fantasy stories have always built on that specifically, because of old people writing them. (My God, the accidental racism and less-accidental but even more intense nastiness about gay folks in the Pern canon could fill a book! Or several trilogies and sequels, lol) but the question remains: If something sells, you don't ask who or why. You ask who's making it, and for whom. And every single time you ask that question you get an exciting, and way more interesting, answer. People can't buy what doesn't exist.

Baby’s Breath: 5 things you associate yourself with?I’m not totally sure what this is asking, tbh. Like aesthetically? I think if I was an animal I’d be a bear, so that;s one I guess. And coffee probably. Medieval aesthetic in general, like that kind of video games, books, movies, stuff like that. And candles–I love scented things and cozy things and soft light and all that. And cozy plaid flannel button-downs and pajama pants, because I basically live in those and they’re very my-style. So: bears, coffee, medieval stuff, candles, and plaid flannel.

Daffodil: What is one plant that you want to have but can never get?Probably a really big, old tree, but I obviously can’t grow one of those in my lifetime and they’re hard to find outside of national forests.

Foxglove: What is your favorite color and in what shade?I’m a big fan of green. I like mossy greens especially, and sometimes olive and forest green. I also love really dark red, like burgundy or oxblood.

I’m very much of an indecisive and technicality-obsessed person, so I don’t like to say never, haha. But I’ve wanted a horse since I was like six and have never been in a position to get one. Painter’s Palette: Are you more of a singer, dancer, painter, or instrumentalist?Definitely not dancer, and I’ve never really been into any instrument. I like to sing but have never done it in front of people. So that or painter.

Tulip: What is your most favorite make-up product? Do you like it more natural, dark, etc.?I like foundation a lot. It’s frustrating but it makes such a difference when you find a good one, particularly with my acne and scarring. Fun-wise, I really like eyeliner and lipstick. I generally prefer dark makeup on myself, at least for the eyes. I have very low-contrast coloring (dark blonde hair, fair skin, blue eyes), so I like how it makes my eyes stand out. But I like natural sometimes too if I’m in the mood.

Waxflower: Are you a bee or a butterfly person? A dog or a cat person?I’m pretty indifferent on bees vs. butterflies. If I had to pick I’d probably say bees because I love honey and I think they’re fascinating. And I’m definitely a dog person.

Sugarbush: Do you have sweet tooth? If yes, what are your favorite sweets? If no, why?I have more of a salty tooth, if that’s a thing. I tend to crave things like chips more than sweets. I really love tomato basil Wheat Thins.

Sunflower: Would you like to be a fairy or a mermaid?A fairy I guess. I tend to be more of a forest person than a beach person, though I do like to swim. And it would be cool to do magic and be friends with the animals. :)

Sweet Pea: What would you like to call your significant other?I mean… I mostly just use “baby” or “sweetheart.” I’m not really a huge pet name person.

Sea Lavender: Can you swim? Which strokes can you do?I can swim really well. I’ve always liked to swim. I was actually on the swim team my freshman year of high school. I can do pretty much any stroke except the butterfly.
