(The Fungus universe)
Tw: Yandere, mentions of pregnancy and miscarriages.
Why they’re infertile?
The Fungus has done many things hoping to increase the lifespans of their hosts. Yet, many of the changes that occur to its victims are mostly because it's too fucking hard to recreate that.
The mold controls major parts of the brain, messing with parts of its host's bodies, etc. Many things do happen on their own like breathing, yet pregnancy….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Its so fucking complicated!!
To keep their own hosts alive already took the fungus eons to figure out. Firstly with animals then with humans.
Pregnancy was just so foreign, the sudden sense of sickness in the host’s body after having intercourse with their obsessions usually left for an outside parasite to combat the mold.
A parasite against a parasite. Both fighting for the same food and nutrients, and there isn't enough room for both of them, so one must perish.
The mold didn't intentionally kill the fetus back then. It just happened as a byproduct.
It would have stayed that way if miscarriages weren't so painful and wasted so many supplies. A lot of blood and unnecessary stress on the host's body. Yet, their obsessions would grow sad at the loss or lack of a child… so the mold tried to figure.
It overfed its hosts and tried to comprehend what nerves and tissues this so-called ‘fetus’ belonged to. Yet, so much work and for what? For failure? No. A child was not needed, their hosts will just have to suck it up.
Yet, their female host's bodies kept trying to nurture this foreign object. So… imagine a crumbled soda can? That is what the mold did to their inner reproductive organs. Simple, a win-win in the fungus’s opinion. No more discomfort or failed labor.
And the male hosts… well, since it worked on the females why should the males have any other treatment?
The mold doesn’t differentiate between black and white. If sees success and doesn't consider other variables.
(also, got a major writers block, but I'm now working on another posts about an ‘ask’ for nicknames. And my dumbass can't figure any so it might take a while)

Mold Testing Houston: Comprehensive Inspection Services to Keep Your Home Safe
Living in Houston means dealing with a warm and humid climate for most of the year. While this weather is great for outdoor activities, it also creates the perfect environment for mold growth. Mold can develop quickly in homes and businesses, often going unnoticed until it becomes a serious problem. That’s why professional Mold Testing Houston is crucial for ensuring the safety of your home and the health of your family.
Mold exposure can lead to various health issues, including allergies, respiratory problems, and even more severe conditions for those with weakened immune systems. Additionally, mold can cause significant structural damage to your property if left untreated. Investing in professional mold testing in Houston helps detect mold early, allowing you to take the necessary steps to mitigate its effects.
Tumblr media
Signs You May Need Mold Testing
Many homeowners are unaware of the presence of mold in their homes because it often grows in hidden areas, such as behind walls, under flooring, or in attics. However, there are several warning signs that indicate you may need professional mold testing in Houston:
Persistent Musty Odor – A strong, musty smell in your home is often a sign of mold growth, even if you can’t see it.
Visible Mold Growth – If you notice black, green, or white spots on walls, ceilings, or other surfaces, you likely have mold.
Recent Water Damage – Homes that have experienced leaks, flooding, or high humidity levels are more prone to mold growth.
Health Symptoms – Unexplained allergies, coughing, sneezing, skin irritation, or difficulty breathing can be caused by mold exposure.
Condensation and High Humidity – If your home frequently experiences condensation on windows or excessive indoor humidity, it creates the perfect environment for mold to thrive.
What Happens During a Professional Mold Inspection?
Hiring a professional mold testing service in Houston ensures a thorough evaluation of your home. The process typically includes the following steps:
1. Initial Consultation and Assessment
A mold specialist will discuss any concerns you have and conduct a visual inspection of your property. They will look for visible mold growth, water damage, and areas with high humidity.
2. Moisture and Humidity Testing
Since moisture is a primary cause of mold growth, professionals use moisture meters and thermal imaging tools to detect hidden water damage and humidity levels.
3. Air and Surface Sampling
Mold spores are microscopic and can be present in the air even if mold is not visible. Professionals take air samples to determine mold spore concentration inside your home. They may also collect surface samples from suspected areas for lab testing.
4. Lab Analysis and Report
The collected samples are sent to a certified lab for analysis. The lab report will identify the types and concentration of mold present, helping determine the severity of the problem.
5. Comprehensive Findings and Recommendations
Once the test results are available, the mold testing company will provide a detailed report outlining their findings and recommend appropriate remediation steps.
Benefits of Professional Mold Testing in Houston
Hiring a mold testing specialist offers several advantages over attempting to detect mold on your own:
Accurate Identification: Professionals use advanced equipment to detect mold spores and identify the type of mold present.
Prevent Health Risks: Early detection helps prevent respiratory issues, allergic reactions, and other health concerns associated with mold exposure.
Protect Your Property: Mold can weaken structural components of your home, leading to costly repairs if not addressed in time.
Unbiased Results: Certified mold inspectors provide an objective assessment and do not have a financial interest in mold remediation services.
Peace of Mind: Knowing your home is mold-free or addressing mold issues promptly ensures a safe living environment for your family.
Common Types of Mold Found in Houston Homes
Houston’s humid climate fosters the growth of several types of mold. Some of the most common include:
Aspergillus: Often found in air conditioning systems and damp indoor environments, this mold can cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems.
Cladosporium: A black or green mold commonly found on wood, carpets, and fabrics, Cladosporium can trigger allergy symptoms.
Stachybotrys (Black Mold): Known as toxic black mold, Stachybotrys thrives in areas with prolonged water damage and can produce harmful mycotoxins.
Penicillium: Typically found in water-damaged buildings, this mold spreads quickly and can lead to respiratory issues.
Steps to Take After Mold Testing
If your mold test results indicate a problem, taking immediate action is essential. Here are the next steps:
Hire a Professional Mold Remediation Service – If significant mold growth is detected, professionals will use advanced techniques to remove it safely.
Address Moisture Issues – Fix any leaks, improve ventilation, and use dehumidifiers to reduce indoor humidity.
Regular Maintenance – Conduct routine home inspections to detect early signs of mold growth and prevent future issues.
Improve Air Quality – Consider using air purifiers with HEPA filters to remove airborne mold spores and maintain a healthy indoor environment.
Finding a Reliable Mold Testing Company in Houston
When choosing a mold testing company in Houston, look for:
Certified and Experienced Inspectors: Ensure the company has trained professionals with industry certifications.
Advanced Testing Methods: Companies that use the latest technology, such as infrared cameras and air quality testing, provide more accurate results.
Comprehensive Reporting: A reliable service will provide a detailed report with clear recommendations for addressing any mold issues.
Transparent Pricing: Look for a company that offers upfront pricing with no hidden fees.
Positive Customer Reviews: Check online reviews and testimonials to ensure past clients were satisfied with their services.
Conclusion
Mold can pose serious health risks and cause costly damage to your home. Given Houston’s humid climate, staying proactive about mold testing and prevention is essential. Whether you suspect mold growth or simply want peace of mind, professional mold testing services in Houston provide a reliable way to detect, assess, and address mold issues before they become a bigger problem.

Mold Spores Explained: Key Insights and Prevention Tips
Introduction
Mold is a common problem in many homes and businesses, but what most people don’t realize is that mold growth is often the result of microscopic spores that are present in the air. Mold spores are invisible to the naked eye and can travel through the air, leading to contamination of various surfaces. While they may seem harmless at first glance, mold spores can pose a significant health risk when they thrive in a moist, damp environment. Understanding the nature of mold spores and how they spread can help homeowners and property owners prevent mold infestations and protect their health. This article provides a comprehensive look at mold spores, what they are, how they grow, and why it’s essential to control them.
Tumblr media
What Are Mold Spores?
Mold spores are tiny, reproductive cells that mold fungi release into the air to propagate and spread. These microscopic particles are a natural part of the environment, and they exist outdoors in abundance. The primary function of mold spores is to ensure the survival of the mold species, allowing them to disperse and grow in different environments.
While mold spores can be found both indoors and outdoors, the key to understanding their impact lies in the fact that they can thrive in humid and damp conditions. Mold spores are resilient and can survive in harsh environments, waiting for the right conditions—such as moisture and warmth—to grow and colonize surfaces.
How Do Mold Spores Spread?
Mold spores can travel long distances through the air. When released into the air, these spores can easily hitch a ride on clothing, pets, or air currents. Once they settle on a surface with adequate moisture and nutrients, the spores can begin to germinate and form mold colonies. Mold growth is often noticed in places like basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and attics, where moisture levels tend to be higher.
Indoor air quality is highly affected by the presence of mold spores, and it’s possible to inhale these spores unknowingly. When inhaled, they can trigger a range of health problems, especially in individuals who are sensitive to mold. This is one of the reasons mold can become a major concern for homeowners.
Health Risks Associated with Mold Spores
Mold spores pose a significant health threat, particularly for people with respiratory issues or those who suffer from allergies or asthma. When inhaled, mold spores can cause symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, nasal congestion, and itchy or watery eyes. For individuals with mold allergies, exposure to these spores can lead to more severe reactions, including difficulty breathing or chest tightness.
In some cases, prolonged exposure to mold spores can lead to chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma, bronchitis, and sinus infections. Mold can also worsen existing conditions, making it essential to take preventive measures to reduce exposure to mold spores.
Mold Spores and Home Environments
To prevent mold growth in your home, it’s essential to understand the environmental conditions that foster mold spore development. Mold thrives in environments with high humidity levels, inadequate ventilation, and water sources. Leaky roofs, pipes, or windows can create the perfect conditions for mold to develop.
The presence of mold spores in a home can also be linked to water damage. When a home experiences flooding or water leaks, mold spores that are already present in the environment can quickly take hold and grow. If left unchecked, the mold can spread and cause significant damage to walls, floors, and other surfaces.
Preventing Mold Spores from Spreading
The best way to control mold spores in your home is to prevent mold growth in the first place. Here are a few key steps to reduce the likelihood of mold spore contamination:
Control Humidity: Use dehumidifiers in areas that are prone to dampness, such as basements or bathrooms. Keep indoor humidity levels between 30-50% to discourage mold growth.
Fix Leaks: Repair any leaks in your home, including plumbing leaks, roof leaks, and window seals, to prevent moisture from accumulating.
Improve Ventilation: Proper ventilation is key to reducing moisture. Ensure that bathrooms and kitchens are adequately ventilated to allow moisture to escape.
Clean Regularly: Regularly clean and dry areas that are prone to mold growth, such as bathroom tiles, window sills, and under sinks.
Conclusion
Mold spores are an unavoidable part of nature, but understanding how they work and how they spread can help you take control of your environment. By keeping your home dry and well-ventilated, you can reduce the chances of mold growth and avoid the health risks associated with mold spores. Preventing mold before it starts is the key to maintaining a healthy, safe living space.

How Long Does Mold Removal Take? A Complete Guide
Introduction
Mold removal is a critical process for maintaining a healthy living environment, especially in areas affected by excessive moisture or humidity. If you've discovered mold in your home, you may be wondering how long the mold removal process will take. While the timeline can vary depending on the severity of the mold infestation, understanding the factors that influence mold removal duration will help you plan accordingly. In this blog, we will break down the mold removal process and give you an estimate of how long it typically takes.
Tumblr media
Factors Affecting Mold Removal Time
The duration of mold removal depends on various factors, including the size of the infestation, the type of mold, the location of the mold, and whether professional mold removal is involved. Here are some key factors that can influence how long the process will take:
Size of the Mold InfestationThe larger the area affected by mold, the longer it will take to remove. Small mold patches may take a few hours to clean up, while larger infestations could take several days. Areas like entire walls or ceilings may require more time for proper remediation.
Type of MoldCertain types of mold, such as black mold (Stachybotrys chartarum), can be more challenging to remove and require special care. This mold type may also require more thorough cleaning and safety precautions, adding extra time to the removal process.
Location of the MoldMold growth in hard-to-reach areas, like attics, crawl spaces, or behind walls, can complicate the removal process. Mold removal in these locations might take longer as it requires more effort to access the affected areas and perform remediation work.
Method of RemovalThe method used for mold removal can also impact the time required. DIY removal methods may take longer due to the lack of professional tools and techniques. On the other hand, professional mold remediation services use specialized equipment, which may speed up the process.
Typical Mold Removal Timeline
Here's a breakdown of how long different aspects of mold removal typically take:
Initial Inspection and Assessment (1-2 hours):A professional mold inspector will assess the extent of the mold growth, identify the type of mold, and determine the best course of action. This step usually takes 1-2 hours for a standard residential inspection.
Containment and Preparation (2-4 hours):Before beginning the mold removal process, the area must be contained to prevent mold spores from spreading. This can involve setting up barriers, using air filtration systems, and ensuring the area is safe for work. The preparation phase usually takes around 2-4 hours, depending on the size of the affected area.
Mold Removal (1-3 days):Once the area is prepared, the actual mold removal can begin. The time it takes to remove the mold depends on the size of the infestation and the type of mold. Small to medium-sized infestations can take a day or two to clean up, while larger or more severe infestations may take up to 3 days or more.
Cleaning and Sanitization (1-2 days):After the mold is removed, the affected surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to prevent further growth. This can take an additional 1-2 days, particularly if any structural materials like drywall need to be replaced.
Drying and Prevention (1-2 days):Once the mold is gone, it’s important to ensure that the affected area is completely dry to prevent mold from returning. This may involve using dehumidifiers or fans and can take an additional 1-2 days, depending on the level of moisture in the area.
Total Time for Mold Removal
In general, mold removal can take anywhere from 2 days to a week, depending on the size and severity of the mold infestation. A small, localized mold problem can be handled in a couple of days, while larger issues or those in hard-to-reach areas may take a week or more to resolve.
How to Speed Up the Mold Removal Process
While the mold removal process requires time, there are a few things you can do to help speed it up:
Act Quickly: The sooner you address mold growth, the less time it will take to remove. Early intervention can prevent the spread of mold, making the removal process faster and easier.
Hire Professionals: While DIY mold removal may save time upfront, professional mold remediation services have the expertise, tools, and equipment to perform the job more efficiently and safely.
Maintain Proper Ventilation: Ensuring good airflow and ventilation in the affected area helps with drying out the space more quickly, reducing the time required for mold removal and prevention.
Conclusion
Mold removal is an essential task for protecting your health and your home. The timeline for mold removal can vary based on several factors, including the size of the infestation, the type of mold, and the location of the mold. While small mold problems can often be resolved in a few days, larger infestations or complicated situations may require a week or more to fully address. By acting quickly and seeking professional help, you can minimize the time spent dealing with mold and prevent it from becoming a recurring issue.
