OH yes hi anon. well i have to preface this again with i haven’t read the raws (for the “core”/main novels) because they’re locked behind vip and even though i have an account i can’t remember if the bank account i have tied to alipay has anything in it. but the mok translation started off the name translation tradition the mtl continued that i LOATHE (i have a lot of thoughts on translation vs transliteration, i did a whole term project on this topic), so while i am slightly approving of “they had an actual paid human do it” i’m VERY disapproving of a great deal of the choices the translator made.

as for the edited mtl, while in some aspects it’s “cleaner” (and in the case of the main novels, doesn’t randomly cut shit out), i still am still annoyed at the direct translations (which when it comes to mtls, are a feature and not a choice) and the fact that the its prevalence is a fairly implicit deterrent for actual humans to do their own translations (and anyway, at this point, with how many damn books npss has written, and extras, etc etc, it’s a daunting task even without that).

(i should admit that i haven’t read the edited mtls of the main novels, but i read part of sha hai from the mtl, and see a lot of mtl excerpts from the people i follow on tumblr, but i think my grievances stand regardless.)

The journey of this Warrior of Light is not an easy one, not that Hydaelyn's Chosen ever have it easy no mater what timeline she has touched. Within this journey, Nomin tal Kheeriin has trial after trial thrown at her as she grows and ventures across the Azim Steppe. She learns of the people of the Steppe, becoming closer with her people and their individual cultures within their tribes. Such valuable lessons and teachings guide her on her journeys, even when she travels across the Ruby Sea that sees her to Eorzea and other places she never imagined she would have seen otherwise.

Satoru "Yurozu" Jiro came from privileged yet humble beginnings. A prodigal son with a bright future ahead of him as a student in one of Kyoto's most ambitious schools. His "parents", Shiori and Minoru Jiro, were respected members of their community given their respective charity work and being public members of The Star Religious group known for its unwavering beliefs in Master Tengen. Beliefs that the charmingly rebellious and more grounded in reality mind of Satoru didn't believe in. Viewing them as nothing but stories of mythology for the seriously devout to pray to in their daily lives.

━━━ REDS AND BLUES.

For better and worse, It was at the age of thirteen that his life was changed forever.

It started with seeing the monsters that went bump in the night, things that only he could see called cursed spirits born from the negative emotions of human beings. It was after a broken window incident at a convenience store that Satoru became the clerk's (an old man named Mr. Towa) apprentice while working there to pay for the damages.

This apprenticeship gave Satoru three years of experience in understanding his cursed technique "curse spirit manipulation" that required spirits to be exorcised into a ball and orally consumed. The taste wasn't pleasant in the slightest but as they say, no good deed goes unpunished.

━━━ ACCESS GRANTED.

At the age of sixteen, Satoru Jiro was framed for the deaths of three school friends and his foster parents due to the horrific nature of the crime and implications of plausible motives and fabricated evidence (specifically his fingerprints on the murder weapons) but in truth this was the work of a person that was a curse user just like Satoru. His younger sisters, Shoko and Hari (3 at the time) were placed into child protective services and later foster care while their older brother was incarcerated with a deal that spared him from the death penalty. A twenty year sentence that was later reduced to four years on account of being found innocent and his biological grandfather pulling some strings.

During his incarceration, Mr. Towa visited him and wrote letters before he inevitably passed away. The only saving grace was that Mr. Towa left a lot of books and journals about jujutsu sorcery / society and cursed techniques for Satoru to learn on his own. Through a path of mourning and vengeance, outside of being labeled as a monster to the public, Satoru's investigation pointed at organized crime and with the help of his grandfather Hakari, he worked his way into infiltrating the Yakuza crime syndicate.

From learning about his birth parents being alive to finding out that his "parents" had essentially been blackmailed into kidnapping him as an infant as part of the religious groups trafficking ring, to finding out that his sisters were almost victims of it because of the abusive household they had been placed into --- Satoru, having consumed about 460 curses by this point, "disposed of" those deserving of his "righteous punishment" and got his sisters back.

It was later, through an agreement made between Grandfather Hakari and Nick Fury that Satoru and the girls would relocate to America and Satoru would begin his training in becoming an avenger with a second chance at redemption.

━━━ TIMELINE: WANDA.

[ POST AGE OF ULTRON ]

Its the thump of an unrequited love. They have a lot in common (dead parents, dissociative behaviors due to extreme trauma, still trying to understand the powers they didn't ask to be born with, etc) despite her romantic interests in the synthazoid named "Vision". Satoru is humble enough to respect it, he doesn't want to ruin their friendship despite a glint of something more being there. Its through his charmingly mischievousness and the big brother energy that Wanda is reminded of her. deceased brother Pietro.

Shoko and Hari love Wanda and the team but mainly Wanda, she's their favorite hero. The girls are still learning how to handle their cursed energy but other than that they can have safe, regular lives despite wanting to come with the team on missions.

Satoru and Wanda have built quite the close friendship. They sparkle some kind of hopeful light back into one another. While Wanda hasn't picked a name yet, Satoru goes by the alias "DEADNITE" with a custom made suit that allows him to channel his cursed energy more effectively.

[ CIVIL WAR / INFINITY WAR ]

Then the sokovia accords happen and the teams are split into two. Satoru stands on Tony's side but like Natasha there is some neutrality there. Prior to Wanda and Vision being fugitives on the run, Satoru lends a hand and lets them hide out in his private home.

And then "the plan" is discussed. Wanda refuses to do it as the inevitable encounter with Thanos looms closer. Vision pulls Satoru aside, asking him to promise to take care of wanda in his absence. He's been aware of Satoru's feelings for a while now but respects the fact that he never made a move on wanda or tried to tear them apart. Regardless, Vision puts his faith into this promise and Satoru relents to the reality of losing a teammate for the greater good and agrees to keep that promise.

But alas all of that is shattered in the wave of the snap. He watches miserably, fatally wounded in his fight with Thanos, as his teammates and allies are snapped into dust. Wanda's look of reliefs as her body disintegrates, Vision's lifeless corpse staring at him from afar.

For a moment, he's that frightened boy standing over the disfigured bodies of classmates and parents, petrified. In the aftermath, he tries to muster the strength to fight, to get on his feet and movie but Thanos has already shortened the distance between them. Nothing but a false god looking down on a wounded animal in pity. Satoru's spine is damage and his suffered a devastating fracture to the skull. He's not sure how much blood he's lost but its not long before everything becomes a blur and death takes him.

[ AVENGERS: ENDGAME ]

At least, so he had thought. Since that day, he's been in a coma for three years. Thanos left him to succumb to his wounds but didn't account for his body being retrieved by his grandfather who puts him in a water tank imbued with cursed energy to heal his grandson. Satoru Jiro's body is reported missing when SWORD goes to collect Vision's body. Teammates that survived the snap rightfully assume based on eye witnesses that he is deceased.

By the third year, Satoru awakens and despite his protests to help in the fight to Thanos, his grandfather convinces him otherwise, having him focused on refining and strengthening his technique and overall experience and understanding of Jujutsu Sorcery. For the next two years, He has committed himself to the faith of the Bhuddist following after forcibly taking over the star religious group and using it as his main resource for large money donations and collecting curse spirits from individuals unknowingly cursed. Through that, he uses his charismatic and unsuspecting nature to gain a mass following, speaking of a world reborn (the blip) from the darkness (the snap) and much more.

[ WANDAVISION ]

Satoru also has knowledge of the multiverse, the eternals and much more. Even the darkhold and its infamous scarlet witch prophecy after either encountering or watching the witch Agatha from afar. It's possible that they could've been working together but concealed their motives about Wanda. Satoru in particularly counting on Agatha's downfall and Wanda becoming The Scarlet Witch.

When the events of Wandavision happen, Satoru is present in the 60's era as his a kind generous monk in large Buddhist clothes in light of Buddhism and asian immigrants coming to america, with zen Bhuddism later becoming more prominent in American culture by the 1970's and 1980's. Much like Agatha, he is unaffected by the mental brainwashing of the hex but plays his role accordingly.

[ MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS ]

Satoru has been keeping an incredibly close eye on wanda and her use of the Darkhold through his dream cursed technique from one of the spirits he consumed. He takes the opportunity to retrieve Wanda's body from the rubble of Mount Wundagore, where he and a still hex controlled Agatha take care of her in the safety and isolation of his religious sanctuary.

There no telling what sort of imprisonment conditions were going to be enforced if the TVA had succeeded in arresting her for her crimes through the multiverse. They didn't have the foresight to see and understand that Wanda Maximoff was the vessel of the elder god Chthon and the creator of the Darkhold. She would face an execution by that fact alone and Satoru just couldn't sit by and let that happen.

She's been in a coma for three months now and he's been preparing a rehabilitation course just for her. It's a much better alternative than whatever anyone else had and it would actually help instead of just keeping her locked up somewhere. That and the positivity and support of his community, his mentorship in helping her build emotional and mental strength against the Darkhold's corruption while learning more about her powers -- it's the best thing for her and Satoru held strong to those beliefs.

Perhaps, it's love or perhaps it's madness thats driving him now. He can't quite distinguish one from the other. One thing he's certain of though, now that Wanda is alive and in his care -- he won't let anyone or anything harm her or her happiness ever again.

Thoughts on Weak Hero Chapter 248

I don't have money for fast pass so NO SPOILERS PLEASE. Also spoilers for those who haven't read the chapter today. You've been warned!

This is the final part of Ben's battle against Donald and it was exhilarating reading the fight. It's a testament to Ben's strength that he was able to hold out against Donald for that long. This is sort of an analysis + my general thoughts on Ben, Donald and Gray.

Ben and his strength

I feel like some ppl in the fandom are thinking Ben's weak for losing, but on the contrary. He is the ONLY PERSON who ever pushed Donald to the edge. With everyone else, Wolf, Jimmy, the Mokha duo etc, Donald beat to submission. Taking into account Ben's trauma from being beaten to a pulp by Donald in the past, it make him taking a stand against that nigh undefeatable monster even more of an amazing feat.

Ben's punches made Donald doubt himself, that if he got hit head on by Ben's sledgehammer punches he would 100% go down. I find the pillar imagery to be really effective in conveying the extent of Ben's raw power, as well as describing his general fighting style. As described by Gray, Ben is so strong that he ends all his fights in a single hit. He hasn't had to chain attacks or think too hard about battle tactics because he is just that strong. However, against an opponent like Donald, he had to start training harder and learning how to combo attacks. Ben's not the type to think of complicated attack patterns, so I really like that his method was to just get a punch in and focus on getting the next hit.

Aside from his physical power, Ben is also strong mentally. He is one of the pillars of Eunjang (along with Gerard) and has had to shoulder all the pressure of being the strongest and the one who has the highest chances of beating Donald one on one. Not only that he's usually the one who comforts and supports his friends, like when he helped out Gray and when he tried to cheer them up with snacks and drinks. However he keeps a lot of his struggles to himself. :(

His mental fortitude gives way to his willpower to succeed and persevere in his fight with Donald. Despite being beaten he passed out standing!!! And had to be physically brought to his knees.

To sum this section up, Ben is insanely strong and his fight against Donald demonstrates that. He isn't weak for losing, in fact it shows his strength to keep pushing forward.

Donald's Dominion

To really hammer in how significant Ben's fight against Donald was, aside from all the shocked expressions from all the side characters... I feel the need to discuss the sheer magnitude of Donald's power and influence over the Yeungdeungpo region (and to some extent over cheongang).

Donald is heavily involved with major industries around the region, such as construction, transport, garments, whatever you can think of he probably has a piece of the pie. His business sense is finely honed, to the point where seasoned adult professionals and old farts with power acknowledge his intellect and cunning, and fully trust Donald when it comes to managing businesses. Donald exercises his influence through his ability to manipulate the infrastructure and businesses which directly affect the other students.

For example, Donald and KHG uniforms collaborated, and the Ganghak thugs would beat up anyone not wearing a uniform from that brand. Next, the redevelopment scheme planned by Donald and a construction company CEO caused a lot of pollution and noise for the Singil Vet Clinic, owned by Eugene's aunt.

Donald has repeatedly showcased his overwhelming strength and intellect, as the leader of the Union and through his ability to keep hundreds of thugs in line. He beats dissenters into submission and is able to tame beasts like Myles Joo, Wolf Keum and the Mok-Ha duo. He even defeated Changhui Han, leader of Cheongang. His combined brains and brawn elevate him to almost unbeatable status.

The only ones that could possibly challenge him now would be Ben Park and Gray Yeon. But after Ben's defeat, Gray is the only one left to challenge him.

Arrogance and Downfall

Donald's kingdom started to crack once Gray started making moves. It's clear he got arrogant and slightly complacent because of all the power he has. Donald's thoughts "You're actually trying to beat me? Unacceptable." As if the thought someone legitimately trying to take him down was outrageous. As the strongest and the smartest he genuinely thought that he was unbeatable. His confidence in his strength turned into complacency, which is why he didn't notice when his plans started falling apart. This confidence in his perceived sovereignty caused him to not prepare for potential flaws in his plan. Such as when Gray showed up at the same hospital, when Eugene won the grand prize with his light switch idea, and when Ben managed to instil the fear of losing into him. Donald's image as the unbeatable monster began to waver, and start to crumble.

All these factors, and Ben significantly weakening Donald, set up the perfect opportunity for the White Mamba to land his killing blow.

Gray Yeon: Weak Hero

The last panel of ch 248 sent chills down my spine. Seeing Gray that serious with the eyes of a predator, really shows that he's the one with the edge in the fight. The narration describes how Gray, during that entire fight between Donald and Ben, was analysing Donald's fighting style; "studying up" as he usually puts it. And seeing Gray so sure of his odds of success, and him being ready to fight, makes it clear that there is a chance that he will win. Gray never fights if he cannot win.

I am particularly excited for this fight given the multiple parallels between Gray and Donald we've seen thus far. They've had lonely childhoods and were bullied during their school years albeit for different reasons. Donald grew up in a troubled household amidst poverty, while Gray was a loner who had no motivation in life until he met Stephen. Both of them are cunning and calculated and would do anything to win. Donald has a selfish motivation, while Gray fights for his friends.

Another difference in this fight that I think would give Gray the edge is that Donald is in a very threatened and disoriented state. He barely put it back together, and would have succeeded if not for Gray. Gray on the other hand has completely analysed Donald's fighting style. He has his emotions in check and is entirely focused on taking Donald down. Meanwhile Donald has no idea what fighting Gray is going to be like, and according to the trend that everyone who fights Gray for the first time will lose.... it seems the odds will be in his favour.

Donald, in his weakened state, is definitely still a force to be reckoned with and Gray is not gonna have an easy time fighting him, especially since they're so similar. I believe in Gray though! He can do it!

Overall

The final fight to end all fights is coming up real soon! (for free readers that is) And I feel like the final battle arc is well paced, though I was kinda disappointed the Naksung v Philip fight got offscreened. Super hyped for Donald vs gray and I might reread the whole final battle arc again.

Protests in Seoul over Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest

Thousands of people gathered in Seoul on Sunday, braving the heavy snow, to demonstrate either in support of or against the arrest of impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol. With his arrest warrant set to expire at midnight on Monday, tensions were high as political unrest threatened to escalate.

The arrest warrant, linked to allegations of insurrection, will expire soon, prompting protests near Yoon’s official residence. Demonstrators on both sides voiced their opinions, with some calling for his immediate arrest, while others strongly opposed the move.

Yoon became the first sitting president in South Korea’s history to face the prospect of arrest. His controversial attempt to declare martial law on December 3 sparked significant political turmoil, affecting not only South Korea but also its relationship with key allies like the United States.

Court’s decision and legal challenges

On Sunday, the Seoul Western District Court rejected a challenge from Yoon’s legal team. They had argued that the arrest warrant was illegal and invalid. Yoon’s lawyers claim that the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials (CIO) does not have the legal authority to handle insurrection cases. However, reports indicate that the investigation involves a joint effort by both the military and the police. Legal experts argue that this makes the CIO’s involvement legally valid.

Yoon’s legal team plans to file a report with prosecutors, accusing the CIO of illegal actions. They claim that the anti-graft body improperly mobilised police officers to enforce the warrant. The CIO has not yet responded to these allegations.

Supporters and critics rally in the cold

Protests continued into Sunday, despite the freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall. Some protesters had camped out overnight in central Seoul. Leaders of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), one of the main organisers, said it was necessary to “restore the foundation of our society” by holding Yoon accountable for what they view as his actions against the constitution.

Meanwhile, supporters of Yoon gathered in nearby areas, holding signs such as “We will fight for President Yoon Suk-yeol” and “Stop the Steal”, echoing a phrase used by supporters of Donald Trump after the 2020 U.S. election.

Similar rallies took place on Saturday, with significant turnout and some clashes with the police. Protestors blocked roads, and two people were arrested for assaulting officers. On that same day, the CIO requested that acting President Choi Sang-mok, who serves as the finance minister, order the security service to cooperate with the arrest warrant. However, the finance ministry chose not to comment.

South Korea says initial data extracted from Jeju Air crash black box voice recorder

Investigators probing a Jeju Air crash which killed 179 people in the worst aviation disaster on South Korean soil have extracted the initial data from one of the Boeing 737-800's black boxes, an official said on Wednesday January 1.   The plane was carrying 181 people from Thailand to South Korea when it issued a mayday call and belly-landed before hitting a barrier and bursting into flames, killing everyone aboard except two flight attendants pulled from the burning wreckage. Officials initially pointed to a bird strike as a possible cause of the disaster, but they have since said the probe was also examining a concrete barrier at the end of the runway, which dramatic video showed the Boeing 737-800 colliding with before bursting into flames. There have also been questions over possible mechanical failures, with local media reporting that the landing gear had deployed properly on Jeju Air Flight 2216's first failed landing attempt at Muan airport before failing on the second.

The issue "will likely be examined by the Accident Investigation Board through a comprehensive review of various testimonies and evidence during the investigation process", the ministry of land, which oversees civil aviation, said at a briefing.   At Muan airport, grieving families of victims had become increasingly frustrated by delays in identifying and releasing the bodies.

Officials have said the bodies were extensively damaged by the crash, making the work of identifying remains slow and immensely difficult, even as investigators had to preserve crash-site evidence.   But the country's acting president said on Wednesday that the process had finally been completed, and that more bodies had been handed over to relatives so that they could hold funerals.   "Overnight, the identification of all 179 victims was completed," said acting president Choi Sang-mok, who has been in office for less than a week.   "Our investigators, along with the US National Transportation Safety Board and the manufacturer, are conducting a joint investigation into the cause of the accident," Choi said at a disaster response meeting on Wednesday.   "A comprehensive analysis and review of the aircraft's structure and the black box data will reveal the cause of the accident," Choi added.   The US investigators had arrived Monday and headed straight to Muan, with the initial on-site joint probe focusing on a navigation system that assists in aircraft landings, known as a localiser.   The localiser, installed on a concrete structure at Muan International Airport, is the barrier that has been blamed for exacerbating the severity of the Jeju Air crash.   The plane was largely carrying holidaymakers back from year-end trips to Bangkok, with all passengers Korean nationals except for two Thais.   A fuller account of what went wrong in the flight's final moments is expected once authorities have analysed the black boxes.   Memorial altars for the victims have been set up nationwide, including in Seoul and at Muan airport. MasyaAllah Allahuakbar! Dah 11 tahun since aku main tumblr since UTP. Malam ni tergerak hati nak retrieve account ni blk & alhamdulillah boleh bukak! Tak sangka ye memories 2015 aku bnyk dump gambar2 kat sini. Mmg tak sia sia aku suka ambik gambar and suprisingly aku bnyk jugak menulis apa yg berlaku dlm hidup haha. Memori dgn embah, feeling masa awal2 kerja, keserabutan dalam pencarian jodoh, etc. Serius weh most of it aku mmg dh lupaaa. Sangat tak sangka aku boleh baca blk luahan hati aku dulu haha. Zaman sebelum ada ig stories bagai. Since dah ada bnyk gambar mmg aku upload situ je but not with luahan.

Allahuu.. bnyk sgt benda dh berubah. Umur aku dah 33, dh 7 tahun kahwin & ada sorg anak perempuan yg bijak dah 6 tahun. Bnyk doa aku yg Allah makbulkan 😭 Aku dh dpt suami yg exactly mcm doa ku. Beriman, penyayang, rajin, engineer & mcm2 lah. Tolak la segala bad memories yg pernah berlaku dalam hidup aku sebelum ni. Now Allah pun dh makbulkan doa aku utk tak kerja tp duit masuk je, komitmen x payah bayar mcm yg aku idamkan. MasyaAllah. Bonus lagi Allah bagi aku dpt rasa ddk overseas. Walaupun x stress tp aku rindu family, aku agak risau sikit pasa rezeki which I shouldn’t. Allah Maha Kaya dia dh tentukan rezeki aku mcm mana. Aku just kena berusaha dgn apa yg aku tgh buat skrg. The rest leave it to Allah. Satu lg impian aku yg blm tercapai is bawak Mama Abah ke Mekah Madinah. Nk bawak Embah Mok tapi dia dah tak ada 😭 Embah lanang pun dh xde since my last post. Tapi takpe semua embah2 aku pergi dalam keadaan yg sgt baik, hari baik bulan baik. Sumpah aku sgt2 jeles. Aku nak sgt Allah ambik aku dgn keadaan baik jugak, hari Jumaat, dalam keadaan beribadah, khusnul khatimah. Doa yg sama utk parents, suami, adik2 & anak2 ku jua, ameen ya Rabb.

Grogu had heard about the brief and exciting life of the Mayor of Mos Espa and was glad that he had no political aspirations and that his dad, the Mandalorian, had even fewer. He didn’t blame Daimyo Fett and Fennec for dealing with the Mayor in the way that they did. Or at least the way Fennec did. You can’t hire assassins and try to disrupt the will of the people and think that folks won’t notice. They will.  

That, all by itself, was an indicator that Daimyo Fett’s initiatives to make Tatooine a better place to live were entirely overdue. The people needed a leader who cared about them, first and foremost. They needed a leader who was honest and above board. They needed a leader who understood the value of mercy. They needed to do the work and make sure they elevated people into leadership roles because of their quality, not their bank accounts or syndicate connections.

Oops. Sorry. Grogu didn’t realize that he would end up channeling Master Windu. He gave the younglings an annual talk on ‘Civic Matters and Leadership Qualifications’, otherwise known as ‘Why you’re not a Jedi Knight Yet, Just Take a Breath’. To be honest, only Ian called it that, but Grogu agreed with him in principle. There were plenty of examples of over eager younglings and padawans. It never ended well. 

There was that time that one kid from Dathomir was convinced that he was way too old to still be a youngling. Even Grogu agreed that if you weren’t quite privy trained yet, you probably shouldn’t be complaining at people about not being a Jedi Knight yet and that this wasn’t the last you’d hear about it from them! 

Or that other kid from Dantooine who was always telling stories about all the things they had done there when they stowed away on Master Kenobi’s ship that one time. They didn’t understand why they didn’t get a medal for picking up Obi-Wan’s cloak and lightsaber without losing them again. Ian had told Repup that Master Kenobi would have been given the medal if that had been his accomplishment because it would have been so unexpected. 

That’s why Master Windu took time out of his busy schedule to talk to them in an informal setting so they could hear his perspectives on leadership and ask him questions in order to explore their understanding of what leaders did and what traits a Jedi needed to be a leader. It was a nice idea in theory. It just never really worked out the way the Jedi Master hoped it would. 

First, as a Jedi Master, entering a room with a hundred younglings to have any time with them at all, you had to be prepared for disappointment. The younglings were in age groups, but they could be pretty broad. Five to nine year olds had very different goals from the 10 to 13 year olds. Just ask the 13 year olds if they should be forced (pun intended) to spend any time with the 10 year olds and you’d end up listening to a lecture longer than the one Master Windu intended on delivering. 

Then, what time of day was this event being held? Before breakfast and no one would pay attention because they were hungry and that wasn’t just about Grogu. Have it before lunch and you’d have the same problem, especially with Grogu. Have it right after lunch and everyone was napping. It was a problem. You needed to do it either mid morning, while breakfast was still giving them all enough energy, or mid afternoon when everyone wanted an excuse to be late for their final lesson of the day. 

If you managed to get the timing right and understood your age groups, you still had to use language that resonated with your audience. You couldn’t just blurt out, ‘Not everyone of you is cut out to become a Jedi Master or even a Jedi Knight. Some of you will end up being a helper in the library or the arboretum, both of which are essential resources to the people who become knights or masters.’ 

Why not say that? Because it made some people sad and others became obnoxious bullies, certain they possessed the knowledge of which group they would fall in. It had been Grogu’s experience that both groups were exactly wrong, but that just made matters worse. Grogu knew Ian didn’t mean to crow about becoming a master one day, but it was still annoying when his friend said, ‘Don’t worry kid, I would never leave you behind, no matter how much you like tending those plants.’

For his part, because he heard the lecture so many times while he was at the temple, Grogu preferred the lecture Obi-Wan had given them the one time Master Windu was off planet and the Jedi Council dumped it on the younger man’s shoulders.

‘I was told by my master, ‘You should hope to be the kind of leader that you would pay attention to and follow should your positions be reversed.’ I’m fairly sure he meant don’t follow people simply because they are loud and point their finger in a direction and say let’s go. They might just be sending you to a lava pit. Any questions?”

Grogu was pretty sure that Master Obi-Wan was talking about Mok Shaiz, the former Mayor of Mos Espa, although he had been mistaken about the lava pit. Or maybe not. Grogu didn’t know if the Jedi Master had ever met Fennec Shand.
