for once I’m not asking for angst 🤞 what kind of music would the modern au characters like? Like genres and bands :)
completely biased because i listen exclusively to musicals and late 00s teenage angst black parade is forever BUT
arthur: country music. including white girl country-pop music. can be caught doing little shuffle steps as he discreetly tries to dance along to a song stuck in his head while mumbling the lyrics under his breath. has main character moments smoking outside at night listening to need you now by lady a.
lenny: really into remixes. likes the extra pep it puts in his step, will accidentally walk to the beat and look like a dork. surprising amount of rock. but anything that's super lyrical, songs that tell a story, he will add to his playlist. duets what you own from rent with sean on karaoke nights.
sean: could not name a single band or genre he listens to because it's just anything with a high enough bpm to make his brain buzz. honorable mention to the cranberries and flogging molly but will do a fully choreographed routine to jailhouse rock without a single drink in his system.
hosea+bessie: any old timey easy listening ballads, occasional swing. hosea can't sing to save his life bless him but will still sing the really cheesy romantic lines to bessie as they slow dance in the living room after a few glasses of wine they're so in love please. anything that would be a first dance song at a wedding they have in their playlist
dutch: opera and orchestra forever. exact same music he listened to at camp will go on about kids these days and the hippity hop they dare call music. it takes him exactly 3 seconds after being introduced to cds and digital downloads to become a vinyl purist even complains about record players over gramophone.
annabelle+susan: annabelle is probably the most adapted to modern era she will listen to anything radio popular and susan is the same way inclined thanks to her job at at the local pub. but they both particularly enjoy bonnie tyler, kate bush and a sneaky bit of abba. think mamma mia is a cinematic masterpiece.
molly: mitski. boygenius. phoebe bridgers. aurora. any indie female lead who sings about broken hearts/betrayal/angry break up songs. listens to a suspicious amount of queer artists too.
kieran: the definition of 'i'll just be here listening to my tunes' only for the speakers to immediately cut to screamo. occasionally they can hear the bass through his headphones and gently remind him to turn it down to protect his hearing. despite this he will always get the mlp theme song stuck in arthur's head at the worst times.
javier: disgusted that disco was dead by the time he timewarped. just wants to boogie to that 70s funky beats. definitely has a playlist dedicated to john marston that is just any song with a reference to wolves. thinks he's hilarious. is the reason john can identity hungry like the wolf within two seconds of it starting (he walks out) (javier learned it on guitar. and both in english and spanish)
jack+isaac: mcr, panic, fallout boy. they will forever be on that angsty teenage bullshit. isaac may have designed them fabulous killjoy ocs and jack proceeded to write a 100k word self-insert fanfic about them. and they have matching mcr lyric tattoos. and mutually agree the kids from yesterday was actually written about them. play that g note and they both collapse with sorrow.

Modern au: how would the sully kids throw a house party? Would they get in trouble? How much fun would they have and who's idea would it be?
Ohhhh ho ho I have been thinking about this one. So this will be in keeping with my lovely wheelchair! Jake modern au world.
-So I think Spider and Neteyam are both in their senior year of high school. Spider got held back in elementary school because he was having some learning issues related to his childhood trauma and attachment issues.
-Jake Sully wakes up one fine morning on his wedding anniversary and impulsively decides that because he and Neytiri eloped the first time they should have an elaborate vow renewal ceremony with all of their family and friends this time. He's hiding away in the office with Kiri and Tuk making them help design a beautiful card with this information for Neytiri, having already sent Lo'ak and Spider to the store for flowers while Neteyam researches venues in the other room.
-So when she hears about this, Sylwanin decides they also need to have a bachelor and bachelorette party. At first she thought that she would just have a bachelorette party, but Tsu'tey helpfully reminded her that Neytiri and Jake have all the same friends and Jake has no family besides Tommy (and Norm). Sylwanin bitches about this for the rest of the evening before calling up Tommy and Norm and roping them into planning the most perfect jeytiri party ever. It involves a hike during the day so Jake can use his all terrain wheelchair and then ends with a camping trip full of alcohol and all of their friends.
-ALL THIS TO SAY; Jake and Neytiri will both be gone for an entire weekend for the first time ever. Jake is a stay at home veteran father, he is always lurking in every corner of the house waiting for you to do something wrong so he can tease you about it. Neytiri does travel for her nonprofit sometimes, but Jake is always there. And even if they went out on a date night, Mo'at or Tsu'tey or Sylwanin or Norm or Tommy or anyone else on the tight knit reserve would be around to babysit. But now, everyone they know is going on the bachelor/bachelorette trip. They won't be far, just on a different place on the reserve, but they won't be at the house all weekend.
-Lo'ak decides that Neteyam and Spider both need to have attended one high school party before college or they will never survive. So he decides they have to throw one. Kiri is in from jump, this is a hilarious idea and there is probably a low chance it gets blamed on her. Also she would never say this but she lives for all of Lo'ak's bad ideas. Spider is an easy sell, he spent so much time when he was little being too nervous to do anything wrong in case he might get sent away that he's easily sold on rebellion now. Lo'ak knows how to push the right buttons. Neteyam took a little more work, but eventually caved. Tuk is the real issue. What do they do with a ten year old during a party with strangers and drinking?
-They pay Tuk like, twenty dollars each to promise to keep her mouth shut and they all promise to owe her one favor as well. Tuk agrees to go to bed and stay in her room. Spoiler; she does not stay in her room at all.
-Some of the Sully kids have fun at the party, some do not. Spider and Kiri discover that they can really tear up the dance floor when buzzed, and they have a blast with Rotxo. They have both been practicing that choreographed dance routine from The Perks of Being a Wallflower for years, apparently for this moment, and Rotxo was the perfect Charlie.
-Lo'ak plans to spend the entire time with Tsireya and instead finds himself chasing Tuk around the house trying to get her to go back to her room. He doesn't drink at all, but Tsireya does help him and she has a fantastic time. Lo'ak Did Not have fun at the time but does remember it fondly, because it's all a blur of Tuk's giggling and Tsireya smiling.
-Neteyam has a weirdly fun time too. In my experience, when you are drinking the first few times you are like "whoa I'm drunk" when you are like, vaguely tipsy in reality. And then later when you actually do get drunk you're like "WOW I WAS NOT DRUNK BEFORE AT ALL." I think this was Neteyam's vibe. He had one Mike's Hard and then he was like "wow I'm drunk this is great!" but in reality he had a great buzz going and he was electric. He talked to everyone there, high fived Tuk when she hid from Lo'ak in the cabinets behind him, ate like four of Tsireya's cupcakes, dipped Spider because Kiri wasn't strong enough to hold him, and made out with Ao'nung in the bathroom a couple times. It was the best night ever.
-Tuk, of course, had a blast. Ruining Lo'ak's night is perhaps the best gift of all.
-I think Jake and Neytiri totally know what happened, but they are saving that knowledge for a rainy day. Also it's kind of adorable how the siblings are all partners in crime, and it makes then both think of their own siblings who just threw them such a nice party. They are both softies at heart.
#i hope you all know ao'nung wasn't elaborated on because he spent the entire party stalking neteyam basically waiting to be made out with#miles spider socorro#spider socorro#spider sully#neteyam sully#jake sully#neytiri sully#jeytiri#kiri sully#tuktirey sully#lo'ak sully#sylwanin#tsu'tey#tommy sully#norm spellman#mo'at#rotxo#tsireya#loreya#ao'nung#aonunete#avatar#avatar the way of water#james cameron avatar#we are mindmelding get in#modern au (wheelchair jake! edition)#melissa's asks#melissa on avatar (cameron)

Serious, scientific question. When SidxNatexReader get married, what's their first dance song? What song do they each request to twerk to? Also, EJ & Gabe would 100% have "first" dances with Nate & Reader because they're so close and that's that. (Maybe Sid too? Idk, you tell me)
engagement wise I think they would get reader a massive rock like they have two nhl salaries they can afford it and even though Sidney would like something more simple Nate is like nope if she can hold her hand up without help it’s too small, but you’re also just getting one ring not one from each, they ask your help picking out rings for each other but they’re definitely gold boys
it’s gonna be the hockey wedding of the century even though it might be a little too much like you just want to marry your partners in peace, nope massive flowers, road blocks, several churches declaring they’d be totally cool with polygamy if you want to go that route, Nova Scotia is so close to just shutting the entire island down because their heroes are getting hitched
as to who gets the legal marriage and who just gets the commitment ceremony you do something like pull pucks from a bag and the matching ones marry but you don’t tell your guests which one is the legal marriage because to you it’s the three of you until the end and nobody is allowed to question it
the playlist is pretty mixed I feel like for the more lovey dovey ceremony part there’ll be a bunch of instrumental covers of modern songs, just keeping it on the classier end but for the party it’s hot girl central somebody better be throwing hockey ass
yes you get railed somewhere between the ceremony and the reception
cake cutting is fun and nobody ruins your hair and makeup because they want you to feel angelic all night, Sid does smash Nate’s face with wedding cake though and the guests lose their shit
there will be roughly 50 speeches, Sid cries at all of them, Nate just holds him and tries to subtly wipe away his own tears while you pat their hands like there there
the og Avs Squad also includes Tboobs (because I think him and Sid played the Olympics together and I needed a third), they choreographed a dance, yes you all get twerked on), EJ was forbidden from wearing his teeth to the wedding
if people think the alcohol bill from the 2011 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup celebration was rough they do not want to see the one for the wedding, you can’t drink any because somebody decided to knock you up the month before
the one other player that booked their wedding for the same weekend had like 2 hockey guests there and that’s it

Oh, I will send more later because they are super interesting but this one immediately got my attention: 33, What is their wedding day like? For Hollina, Rolfmaine, Quaselle and Sinric (I didn't plan on having two straight and two gay couples LOL those are the ones that are very intriguing to me in regards to the wedding)
What is their wedding day like?
Hollina
Holli and Lina's wedding would be a big event. They both know a lot of people and care about making their wedding be as great as their love for each other. Even though they have had their disagreements about certain aspects of their wedding (like Holli wanting something elegant and modern, and Lina wanting something princessy and fairytale-like) they have managed to meet in the middle and their wedding will be remembered for decades. Their wedding day is filled with flowers, fairy lights, karaoke, glass tiles for the dancing area, and you better believe their first dance is choreographed to the max! And they have a first song too, because of course they do.
I also made a short fanfic about Holli's feelings about wearing a wedding veil you can read here.
Rolfmaine
Both John and Anastasia agreed they wanted a big, disgustingly elegant wedding. John Rolfe is used to fancy parties with stuffy clothing and waltzing around in a ballroom, and while Anastasia can't dance to save her life, she loves the same things John does. Their guest list, however, would not be exceptionally big. Both of them have few family members and a few friends, so despite the elegant setting and atmosphere, the wedding would still be intimate. John would consider playing a diplomatic move and invite acquaintances, but ultimately he didn't want to have to put pressure on Anastasia on her wedding day.
Quaselle
Simple and sweet forest ceremony, not truly a traditional wedding. I don't see Belle being religious and Quasimodo would have a very strained relationship with Christianity after all the religious trauma he's been through. So their wedding would be much more about having a day where they tell the world they love each other and intend to be together till death do them part. Neither Belle or Quasimodo would want a big, fancy wedding either. And while some might have expected them to get married in Notre Dame, ultimately the place has too many bitter memories for Quasimodo despite Notre Dame holding a lot of good memories for him as well. And Belle is a simple girl, ultimately she only cares about marrying Quasimodo and sharing the moment with friends and family. The party AFTER the ceremony though? Big street party. Even though Belle and Quasimodo are somewhat introverted and prefer small gatherings, they have a huge amount of acquaintances who would want to celebrate them, and they wouldn't be against that. But the ceremony would be just for them, Maurice, Esmeralda, Phoebus and Zephyr.
Sinric
Eric's a prince; his wedding WILL be the event of the century, which is absolutely fine with Sinbad. They're both massive extroverts and thrive in big crowds, Sinbad especially loves all the attention and the jealous glances he'd get all day from bitter, rejected suitors of Eric. There's also the fact they had to hide their relationship for a while so once it's finally out there, they both want to show each other off to the world. Sinbad would hog Eric all night, dancing with him so much they'll both be exhausted by the time their wedding WEEK is over.

I'd love to hear about this SamBucky swing dance AU!!
Ask and ye shall receive!
Right, so I started this when I was having a Marvel re-watch phase, mainly for Loki and Bucky content. I first thought of maybe writing a fic set in the 40's simply because I wanted to write about Sam and Bucky swing dancing but setting it in the 40's didn't feel quite right because of the war and attitude towards queer people in that time. SO! I decided, fuck it, lets set it in modern times. Bucky dances and teaches Lindy Hop (1940s swing dancing with the crazy lifts and fancy footwork) in his mom's studio in Brooklyn while Sam teaches West Coast Swing (a more modern version with more turns than lifts that can be danced to a lot of contemporary pop songs) at the VA in Harlem. They meet at Steve's wedding to Peggie and do not get along AT ALL. Poor Bucky is a little bit heartbroken because his best friend and long-time crush has gotten married and is moving to London while Bucky is expected to be totally okay with this and go back to their empty Brooklyn apartment. Sam and Steve served together in Afghanistan with the rest of the Avengers as a special ops team. In this version, Bucky didn't sign up for the army but instead pursued a career in dance and teaching. He loses his arm in a plane crash instead when heading back home from the wedding, which puts his dance career on indefinite hold. That's sort of the intro of the fic, the rest of which is set six months after Bucky loses his arm. He's busy training Peter and MJ (who are friends and dance partners) for a big Lindy Hop competition while Sam is still working at the VA. Steve asks Sam to check in on Bucky because he's been radio silent and he's worried about him which is what sort of kicks off the whole them reuniting and becoming begrudging friends (and later something more).
I definitely do want to finish this because I have at least 1/3 written and the rest planned out, plus I've found some amazing dance videos that I think really represent Bucky and Sam's dance styles well. Though I don't know when I'll get around to finishing this smh. But if you're interested in reading a snippet you can find it below the cut:
As soon as he gets home, Sam unearths his laptop and signs into YouTube, typing in his search.
James Barnes Open Swing Competition.
Immediately, several videos pop up, all featuring Bucky’s nickname in the title with an array of dance partners. They range from choreographed routines at competitions to workshops and dance camps with improvised dances. One in particular draws Sam’s eyes though.
Sensual Same-Sex Swing Routine - Bucky and Steve
He’s clicking it before he even registers he’s doing it, the video taking a second to load. It looks to be a festival setting, more relaxed with a square dance space surrounded by a crowd of people sitting on the floor or on makeshift seats. Behind is a stage with a few stray musicians taking a break, to the left a large upright banner stating this is the Lindylicious Swing Dance festival in Paris of all places. And there in the center of the dance floor is a much younger looking Bucky and Steve. They can’t be older than twenty or twenty one, so it must have been just before Steve shipped out to the army. They’re both dressed up in slacks and shirts befitting of the 1940s, Bucky in classical black while Steve’s wearing a baby blue polo that brings out his eyes. Steve’s got on a pair of white and brown leather saddle shoes while Bucky’s got a pair of black loafers with blood red socks, the only pop of colour in his outfit. His hair is shorter here, like it had been at the wedding, styled with a bit of gel to get more of a greaser look.
He and Steve stand whispering quietly between themselves before the music starts, Steve’s head tilting back with a laugh before the two start to sway to the sensual swing beat. It’s a lot slower paced compared to MJ and Peter’s routine, made for footwork and turns more than aerial tricks.
With a playful crook of his finger, Bucky invites Steve to dance, the two sliding across the distance between them to meet in the middle in a close, intimate hold. The crowd ooo’s with more than a few giggles in-between. They sway for a bit, Steve lazily swinging in and out, following Bucky’s lead without any trouble. Suddenly, the drum halts, giving space for a burst of horn, and Steve and Bucky shake it out much to the crowd’s whooping delight before shuffling back together. A deep voice croons about what all a couple can get up to when the lights go out, and Steve and Bucky must be familiar with the song as they play up to the beats and lyrics. Sam can see the playfulness from MJ and Peter’s routine echoed here, Bucky pretending to melt to the floor, hot and bothered, as Steve walks ahead of him in time to the beat.
They make a fantastic pair, feeding off each other and moving so in sync while still having a casual easiness about them that makes it feel like it’s all improvised, like they’re just that damn good. And maybe they are.
At one point they’re entirely wrapped around one another, Bucky having slid up to Steve’s side and twirled him so they’re chest to chest, thighs woven and hips swaying. Steve’s back is to the camera but Bucky’s face is clear to see and—oh.
Oh.
His face is tucked into the crook of Steve’s neck, attempting to hide what now Sam can clearly see is a besotted smile that has absolutely nothing to do with the characters they’re playing for the dance.
“Oh, Buck…” he murmurs as he watches the dance continue to unfold, Bucky’s adoration out there for all to see, including Steve, and they don’t even know it, thinking it’s all an act just for the fun of the dance.
It’s so damn obvious, Bucky standing with his chest to Steve’s back, arms wrapped tight around him, the two stepping together like a pair of lovebirds out on a walk. That smile, the softness of his eyes, the way he squeezes Steve just a little closer before stepping away. How the hell did no one see it? How did Steve never see it?
Sam’s shot back to that night at the reception, him and Bucky watching Steve and Peggy do a sensual West Coast Swing routine that Sam had helped choreograph, that he’d boasted about, all the while Bucky stood there still as a statue, quietly dying inside as his best friend, his dance partner, the man he loved, replaces him with someone new.
Fuck, Sam’s an idiot. No wonder Bucky was acting off, no wonder he’d dropped his smile as soon as Steve wasn’t looking. No wonder he’d stormed off when Sam suggested a dance. It was probably the final nail in the coffin, the final snip to the withering tether of his sanity that night. And Sam had played a role in snapping it.

Bronislava Nijinska (January 8, 1891 [O.S. December 27, 1890] – February 21, 1972) was a Polish ballet dancer, and an innovative choreographer. She came of age in a family of traveling, professional dancers.
Her own career began in Saint Petersburg. Soon she joined Ballets Russes which ventured to success in Paris. She met war-time difficulties in Petrograd and revolutionary turbulence in Kiev. In France again, public acclaim for her works came quickly, cresting in the 1920s. She then enjoyed continuing successes in Europe and the Americas. Nijinska played a pioneering role in the broad movement that diverged from 19th-century classical ballet. Her introduction of modern forms, steps, and motion, and a minimalist narrative, prepared the way of future works
Following serious home training, she entered the state ballet school in the Russian capital at the age of nine. In 1908 she graduated as an 'Artist of the Imperial Theatres'. An early breakthrough came in Paris in 1910 when she became a member of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. For her dance solo Nijinska created the role of Papillon in Carnaval, a ballet written and designed by Michel Fokine.
She assisted her famous brother Vaslav Nijinsky as he worked up his controversial choreography for L'Après-midi d'un faune, which Ballets Russes premiered in Paris in 1912. Similarly, she aided him in his creation of the 1913 ballet The Rite of Spring.
She developed her own art in Petrograd and Kiev during the Great War, Revolution and Civil War. While performing in theaters, she worked independently to design and stage her first choreographies. Nijinska started a ballet school on progressive lines in Kiev. She published her writing on the art of movement. In 1921 she fled Russian authorities.
Rejoining the Ballets Russes, Diaghilev appointed her the choreographer of the influential ballet company based in France. Nijinska thrived, creating several popular, cutting-edge ballets to contemporary music. In 1923, with a score by Igor Stravinsky she choreographed her iconic work Les noces [The Wedding].
Starting in 1925, with a variety of companies and venues she designed and mounted ballets in Europe and the Americas. Among them were Teatro Colón, Ida Rubinstein, Opéra Russe à Paris, Wassily de Basil, Max Reinhardt, Markova-Dolin, Ballet Polonaise, Ballet Theatre, the Hollywood Bowl, Jacob's Pillow, Serge Denham, Marquis de Cuevas, as well as her own companies.
Due to war in 1939 she relocated from Paris to Los Angeles. Nijinska continued working in choreography and as an artistic director. She taught at her studio. In the 1960s for The Royal Ballet in London, she staged revivals of her Ballets Russes-era creations. Her Early Memoirs, translated into English, was published posthumously.

Do it for Dude - Remembering Cameron Boyce
Cameron Boyce was born on the 25th of May 1999. His parents are Victor and Libby Boyce. His sister is named Maya Boyce. When he was young, he lived in Los Angeles. He took dance lessons for breakdancing, hip-hop, modern dance, jazz, tap dance, and ballet. His favorite style was breakdancing, and, along with four of his friends, he was a member of the breakdancing crew "X Mob".
In May 2008, Boyce made his debut as a child actor in the music video "That Green Gentleman" by Panic! at the Disco. In July 2008, he appeared in General Hospital: Night Shift as a recurring character named Michael. In August 2008, he made his feature film debut with a starring role in the horror film Mirrors, as well as appearing in the mystery-thriller film Eagle Eye that autumn.
In June 2010, Boyce starred as Keithie Feder, the spoiled son of Adam Sandler's character, in the comedy film Grown Ups and appeared later that same year showing off his dance skills on the web series The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers.
In April 2011, Boyce made a guest appearance on Disney Channel's comedy series Good Luck Charlie, and later that month he was one of the featured dancers in a royal wedding tribute on ABC's Dancing with the Stars. In June 2011, he had a small role as one of Judy's classmates in the family comedy film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. In August 2011, he was one of the featured dancers on Disney Channel's comedy series Shake It Up.
In September 2011, Boyce was cast in the starring role of Luke Ross on Disney Channel's comedy series Jessie. During pre-production of the series, the role of Luke was originally intended to be a boy named Hiro adopted from Korea, but casting directors were impressed with Boyce during the audition process and ultimately decided to recreate the role specifically for him.
In 2015, Boyce was one of the main cast members in Disney Channel's Descendants, playing Carlos, the son of Cruella de Vil. He later reprised the character for the animated shorts Descendants: Wicked World and in the sequels Descendants 2 and Descendants 3. Unfortunately, the premiere of Descendatnts 3 was shortly after his death.
In March 2018, Boyce was cast in the ABC comedy television pilot Steps, in the role of Becker, and was also cast in the indie film Runt, in the role of Cal.
In January 2019, Boyce had joined the cast of HBO's Mrs. Fletcher. In April 2019, Boyce performed in the music video for "Almost" by Hozier. He choreographed the dance with dancer Christine Flores, who appeared in the video alongside him. In September 2019, it was announced that his clothing line called Archives, co-founded by him and stylist and designer Veronica Graye, would be released in November 2019.
On July 6, 2019, Boyce, aged 20, was found unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles, California. Authorities were called, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a statement made by Boyce's family, Boyce died in his sleep "due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated". An autopsy was performed, but release of a cause of death was deferred pending further investigation. On July 9, 2019, Boyce's family confirmed that his death was caused by an epileptic seizure and that Boyce was previously diagnosed with epilepsy. The autopsy results were released by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner on July 30, 2019, confirming Boyce's cause of death was due to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. His body was cremated, and his ashes were returned to his family.
On July 14, 2020, a year after Boyce's death, the Alex Winter-directed documentary Showbiz Kids debuted on HBO. The film, which is about childhood stardom and its effects, includes interview footage of Boyce. It is dedicated to the memory of Boyce and former child actress Diana Serra Cary who had died on February 24, 2020. Just prior to his death, Boyce was to begin production with Sandler on a new project. The project he was due to star in with Sandler, Hubie Halloween, was released on October 7, 2020, with a dedication to Boyce that read, "In loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed everyday."
But although Cameron was now dead, his legacy lived on. In the span of 40 days in 2017, Boyce helped raise over $27,000 for the Thirst Project, which helps bring clean water to underdeveloped countries. In September 2019, Thirst Project officially changed the name of the Pioneering Spirit Award to the Cameron Boyce Pioneering Spirit Award, to honor his work with the organization.
He also supported United Way of America's initiative to end homelessness. He helped raise money for the HomeWalk in 2015, and continued to do so up until the end of his life. In May 2019, he participated in the opening ceremony of the 12th annual HomeWalk in downtown Los Angeles, one of the largest public events to end homelessness in the United States.
He also worked with the Lucstrong Foundation, which provides grants to families with children who are diagnosed with sickle cell disease and are going through the bone marrow transplant process.
His final humanitarian project was called Wielding Peace, a social media campaign in conjunction with Delaney Tarr, co-founder of March for Our Lives. In Boyce's own words, the campaign would "help fight against gun violence by showing celebrities and survivors 'wielding' a new kind of weapon — one of unity."
Following Boyce's death in 2019, The Cameron Boyce Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was founded in Los Angeles through Network for Good that provides young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world.
On July 25, 2019, the foundation disclosed the first project to be carried out was Wielding Peace, which officially launched on August 16, 2019. The foundation later donated $8,000 to Thirst Project to build a well in Uganda.
Do it for Dude is a small foundation that remembers Cameron Boyce, and supports his legacy. Join now for Cameron Boyce.

Ritual That Followed In Punjabi Wedding - Eazyvenue
Punjabi wedding means lots of fun. There is a lot of fun in this marriage and people make lovely memories while enjoying each and every moment among their loved ones. In the midst of all this, the bride and groom become a part of several rituals, which help them and their families gradually come closer and understand. These rituals are like a ladder, walking on which the couple reaches the wedding and becomes each other forever. This is the reason why every ritual has special importance.
Roka is the ritual that takes place before the engagement. As the name suggests, this ritual means that now the bride and groom's relationship is fixed with each other and they will no longer look to anyone else for their relationship. In this, both the families give and take gifts among themselves and celebrate the firmness of the relationship. Usually there is no ring exchange in this, but nowadays many couples also get engaged in Roka itself. After the roka is done, both the families fix the date of the engagement and then the couple exchange rings.
Kirtan and Dholki
Puja and kirtan are held at the house of both the bride and the groom, in which especially the women of the family take part. This program, kept for the auspicious beginning of the relationship, goes on throughout the day and sometimes ends late at night. After this comes the turn of Dholki i.e. music ceremony. In this, the family dances and sings to the beat of the drum. However, nowadays its form has changed. In modern weddings, DJs are arranged and members of both the families are seen giving different choreographed performances.
Mehendi Ceremony and Jaggo
This is a very important ritual. The hands of the bride to be in this are decorated with henna, for which a woman from the family or an artist from outside is called. The hands as well as the feet of the bride-to-be are decorated with beautiful bridal mehndi designs and are expected to create a deep hue. Mehendi is also applied on the hands of the groom. On the other hand, during the Jaggo ritual, the bride and groom stay awake all night and celebrate with everyone. During this, lamps are lit, which the bride's maternal aunt carries on her head.
Turmeric and Chuda
Turmeric is applied to make the hands of the bride and groom yellow. In this, along with his family members, close friends also participate. The girl is offered bangles on behalf of her maternal uncle. Everyone touches it and gives their blessings. The eyes of the bride are kept closed while wearing it. Later the bangle is covered with a cloth.
offering sehra and mare
When the boy gets ready in the dress of the groom, his sister wears him Sehra. After this a small puja is performed. Sister also applies Surma to her brother so that he does not get evil eye from anyone. Family and friends together offer him a mare. He is accompanied by a younger child, who is usually a nephew or a younger brother. He stays with the groom throughout the procession. (Photo Credit: istock by getty images)
meeting and marriage
On the arrival of the groom, the girls welcome him. Both the families hug each other. The bride gets ready and reaches the stage and the couple garlands each other. This is followed by a ritualistic phera and the girl's parents perform her Kanyadaan, followed by an emotional farewell.
