Hey I LOVE XKit but notice it doesn't have an option to block the new Tumblr "community" nag/prompt. Is that something that could be coming in the future or have I missed something at my end?

This is addressed by the successor project XKit Rewritten, which you can learn more about at @addons and download from the Firefox or Chrome webstore (on Edge, use the Chrome web store)

Old Nuclear White Blue

Hey all, you may have noticed that a recent tumblr update broke Old Blue, leading to a dashboard that looked something like this:

I'm happy to report that this is fixed as of Old Blue version 2.1.2. XKit will automatically update over the course of the next ~5 hours, but if you want to update faster, you can go to Other > Update All and click Update all of my extensions to update immediately—but you'll need to refresh your browser for the changes to be applied!

This update also fixes the issue where the XKit button was washed out on the blue background. Thanks for your patience! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to send an ask to our support blog or join our real-time support chat on Discord.

🧩 XKit Rewritten

An option has been added to Tweaks which reverts the post footer redesign. This solution is temporary, but should work until the redesign is a little more final. Make sure you're using XKit Rewritten v0.14.0 if you don't see this option yet.

A new feature, TimeFormat, has been added to allow Moment.js-style customisation of Tumblr's own timestamps! (You can enable Tumblr's timestamps in your dashboard settings.) This feature supercedes the Timestamps feature, which will be removed at a later date.

No Recommended now includes an option to hide recommended posts on the dashboard, which is enabled by default. It does not target posts from followed tags, which can instead be disabled in your dashboard settings.

Fixed some styling issues with No Recommended's "Hide related posts in the photo lightbox" option.

A new feature, Collapsed Queue, has been added to make it easier to navigate queue and drafts pages.

A new feature, Scroll to Bottom, has been added to make it easier to load all posts on a page.

PostBlock's options now lists each individual post ID you have blocked (oldest-first) with individual unblock buttons.

AccessKit now lets you choose if the "Show alt text as captions below images" option will display all alt text, or only set image descriptions.

AccessKit's "Disable layout element animations" option now entirely hides the floating heart animation when you like a post.

Hero of Kvatch and Dragonborn were criminals as well

So since I play Skyrim and have played Oblivion and still playing Morrowind I've played two mods called Moon and Stars where you get to meet the Neraverine and Gray Cowl of Nocturnal meeting the spirit hero of Kvatch and there's a character who's last name Hlaalu in moon and stars who wants you to go after the Neraverine cause the guild Morag Tong says he's a Criminal while they don't realize that the Hero of Kvatch and Dragonborn were criminals before doing their destiny

So as for the three characters that are named here's who

Ralyhas Douri a male Dark Elf who is the Neraverine

Kaania Nightpool a female wood elf that is the hero of Kvatch

Keishara Ikaras a female nord that is the Dragonborn

hey, if people affected by this issue can drop us a line on Discord or GitHub (please make sure to include the URL of the blog that got deleted!) so we can get this straightened out with staff, that would be great.

Additionally, while this absolutely should not be happening, it seems like support will almost always restore a blog deleted in this manner. We've had very few reports of this happening, but all of them have had their blog successfully restored.

PSA: Don’t use xkit’s Mass Tag Replacer for now

Mutual used it and Tumblr’s flagging system mass-flagged their posts and straight up deleted the blog.

@staff fix your website and filtering system.

Xkit keeps telling me the auto update won't work. I tried to update manually, but that also did nothing. I followed the troubleshooting, but I could connect to the pages easily, and I have nothing blocking scripts aside from adblock, that, once I paused, did not solve the problem.

Hey all, we’re aware of this issue, it seems to be affecting some percentage of Chrome users (it’s currently unclear how many). We’re working on a hotfix to get it patched. In the meantime—sit tight! Normal XKit updates will be resumed shortly.

Hi! I can't go back more than 19 pages on my dashboard, it won't show me a "next" button. I was saving up a few days' worth of content to avoid spoilers and relying on this feature to go back and read everything, so that was a bit of a bummer. I'm hoping this is a bug and not a feature?

Dashboard pagination isn’t an XKit feature, it’s a built-in part of Tumblr. I would suggest reaching out to https://www.tumblr.com/support

hello! i use tumblr mobile on safari, and like a few others, do not have the option to switch back to the old dash. when going into settings under the dashboard section, it seems that i do not have an opt-out toggle at all. what can i do to solve this problem?

Tumblr mobile on Safari has been using the new dashboard a year and a half now. I’m not aware of any significant changes with respect to the mobile dashboard that are in progress or coming down the pipe. Timestamps: OP & Reblogs update!

Sometimes, time context is important. If we say we pushed an update yesterday, and that post ends up getting reblogged by someone a year later, “yesterday” might get interpreted very wrong and confuse quite a few people.

But we’ve fixed that now! The Timestamps extension now puts timestamps on reblogged original posts by default. You can say goodbye to reblogging old news with a feeling of urgency, and hello to realising that all million-note posts are 8 years or so old (without any extra clicks).

You can also extend this to show timestamps on all reblog comments, letting you see just how quickly those hilarious interactions take place or how long it took before someone else thought of a better punchline to a post. Data junkies of all types, this one’s for you.

We’ve also done up the preferences! Want to turn off reblog timestamps? Easy. Want to only have reblog timestamps? Just as easy! Go take a look!
