You have no idea how excited I am to share with you guys. I’m vibrating at a speed that would shatter glass, and the only reason I’m not wishing February would come sooner is because I just need to finish the second half of chapters!

How did they find out about age regression?

Silver found out online, for sure. That boy is the type to fall down internet rabbit holes, and when he saw a recommended video about adults dressing up as children and coloring, his interest was piqued. He fell down that rabbit hole and discovered what he was doing was regression.

12. Do they have any specific nicknames for when they regress?

Yes he does! But they don’t show up until quite late in the fic, hehe. >:3c Silver calls Meganium “Megi” when he’s small or he’s being openly affectionate with her. Lance can get Silver into littlespace simply by calling him “Silvie,” but Silver’s nickname for (his) Lance? Well, let’s just say it’s a well-used nickname that I love, and it takes a lot to weasel it out of Silver. The title banner will definitely feature it, so you don’t have long to wait, and you can probably guess, but. 🤷‍♂️ Personally I think it’s going to be all the sweeter when Silver finally lets it slip.

6. Are they a stuffie or a blankie kid?

Silver is most definitely in possession of both, but I think he favors stuffies when sleeping, but blankies when out and about. He definitely feels less guilty about putting a blankie through the washing machine than putting a friend (stuffie) through the same process.

18. Do they take naps?

Ohhhh, Silver definitely needs them but rarely takes them, especially at first! He’s scared of being seen as “too babyish” and therefore wants to come across as a big kid whenever possible. But Lance loves it when Silver feels small enough to simply cuddle up into Lance’s side and just take a nap. Silver just needs to gain that trust first!

20. What is age regression to them?

The important, all-encompassing question. Silver regresses for a combo of reasons, and most of them are related to the disconnect from his father. It’s not that he wants to relive his childhood, but he wants to be a kid in a space where that’s allowed and encouraged, which was never around his father’s space. He loves when he’s allowed to just be himself, whoever that is, he loves coloring and drawing and creating without a very clear, intent purpose. He’s a little insecure about it, poor baby, but Lance will always make sure he feels safe and secure when he goes little.

Lance regarded Giovanni coolly. The shop was closed for the day, the sun setting just outside in the summer wind. No one would get hurt were they to battle in here.

No one, that is, except themselves and Silver. But Lance didn’t want Silver to come to any danger. Giovanni, apparently, had no such reservations.

“I don’t believe he wishes to go with you,” Lance replied smoothly. “And after all, shouldn’t we let this young man make his own decisions?”

“Ah, but you say yourself: he is young! Who’s to trust a youth with such impulsivity on what he thinks is best for himself?” Giovanni smirked, adding, “I shudder to think what my mother would have done to me had I trotted off around the city without keeping my nose clean!”

Silver leaned into Lance’s back, and he could feel the tremble in the boy’s fists and indeed, his whole body. Lance fished in his pockets and pulled out the Pokeball holding his Dragonite. “I’ll fight you for him.”

Silver stilled, a hitch in his breath. The entire room fell silent.

Lance shrugged. “He doesn’t want to go with you. I enforce choice in my shop. He doesn’t want to go with you? I will fight to keep him from doing so.”

Giovanni stared at Lance. His face aghast. But his body telling a different story. His shoulders relaxed, his palms dropped loose at his sides. He blinked. And then, he smirked, one more time, with more glee and happiness. “Now, now. You’re so insistent on free choice? I suppose I must allow you the ability to make the rules in your own domain. But don’t be surprised when he comes running back to me…and I won’t be there waiting for him.” And he left.
