Their Reaction to a Snowball Fight (Mag 7)

Sam Chisolm

You had a challenge going with Mr. Chisolm. A few days before a large snowfall, you two were playfully arguing over whether or not someone would easily be able to take him by surprise. He denied it, stating that he always paid attention to his surroundings and made sure to stay ready for anything, and you objected, stating it was just a matter of opportunity and there was no way he could always be ready.

You figured the recent snowfall made the perfect chance. You trailed behind him some and made sure to gather some snow. You were just about to throw it at him when he warned you not to. The laugh that follow probably gave away your motive as you threw it anyway and hit him square between the shoulders. He glanced over his shoulder at you and you knew as soon as you reached your destination, it was going to be an epic fight.

Joshua Faraday 

It was a drunken night, for Faraday more so than yourself. You would classify yourself as more tipsy. Either way, as you two stumbled arm-in-arm down the street, you had to do your best not to slip on the snow. Faraday kept shouting out nonsensical things and you kept trying to shush him, which didn’t do very well as he would just laugh and start shouting two minutes later. So you decided to do something about it.

You unhooked your arm from his and stooped down to grab a good bit of snow. It didn’t stick too well but it managed to stay stuck enough to make its mark against Faraday. His eyes widened and he looked mock offended before throwing a snowball at you. The following snowball fight counteracted your attempt to quiet Faraday down, but it was fun and worth it.

Vasquez

The outlaw didn’t know what was coming. You two were hiding out in a cave with a sheltered fire in the darkness. Vasquez drifted off long before you. You stood at the mouth of the cave, just far enough to see out and just close enough to feel the warmth of the fire on your back. As you stood there, watching the little flakes of white drift to the ground, an idea came to mind. Since you and Vasquez would likely be stuck there for a bit, you might as well have some fun.

You stayed up extra late, stockpiling a mini fort of snowballs. Tired and cold afterward, you retreated back into the cave and fell asleep. By the time you woke up, Vasquez had disappeared. You assumed he went to try and find some food, figuring you’d grown close enough that he wouldn’t just leave. Now was your chance; you hid behind your makeshift wall of snowballs and waited until he returned before launching a volley at him. He promptly dropped the rabbit he’d found and made a beeline for the closest tree. You paused your attack and stood up, only to get pegged in the stomach with an enemy snowball.

Goodnight Robicheaux

Due to the snow, not many people wanted to stay outside. So Billy and Goodnight didn’t get to take bets off of Billy’s fighting. However, the boys just couldn’t stay inside so, despite the cold, you three were outside. You all were just doing a bit of wandering, which really didn’t last as long as expected.

You decided to dump snow down Goodnight’s shirt, making him squirm and yell before looking at you with a mischievous grin. You frowned, not sure you stood by your decision anymore. When Goodnight grabbed some snow, you tried to run, but got pegged in the back with a ball of the white flakes. By the time you turned around, another one hit you in the shoulder. Billy took his place against a wall, watching with that slight amusement in his eyes as you launched a snowball right back at Goodnight.

Billy Rocks

You, Billy, and Goodnight were all outside after a recent snowfall. Originally, you were watching Billy practice with his knives as Goodnight did his own thing, but the cold began to wear at you. You couldn’t help thinking of starting something, but you didn’t particularly want to bother Billy when he had his knives in hand, so you balled up some snow and threw it at goodnight. The two of you got a little too into your snowball fight, Billy ignoring your antics, but you ended up missing Goodnight entirely at one point and hitting Billy right in the back. 

The man slowly turned around, shooting you a look as he tucked his knives away. Both you and Goodnight stood watching, not quite sure what he was going to do. In almost an instant, you were both hit with snowballs and you knew, you two were at the losing end of this battle.

Jack Horne

Jack seemed to be mostly serious but also a little sad at times. You wanted to change that, to have a little fun. You waited for him to swing by to walk you home, as usual. Everything had already been preplanned on your break from work, after the snow finished falling. So nothing happened until you were at the edge of town. Then, you broke loose.

You grabbed a couple of snowballs that you had premade and threw them at Mr. Horne. He looked down at his chest, where remnants of snow still clung to his jacket. He looked up at you. “Now that…” he started but you threw another snowball and cut him off. “That’s not…” he tried to continue. You, again, threw another snowball. Deciding you weren’t going to listen, he simply threw one back at you, being careful not to hit too hard or anywhere like your face.

Red Harvest

You and Red Harvest had mostly silent communication. He didn’t speak much and you didn’t feel much need to. Everything sort of worked itself out, until the snow came. You didn’t like being in the cold and the snow and you kind of wished you could just go find a nice town to stay in. He found a decent cave to hide in, but it just wasn’t the same. You didn’t really want to whine and complain about though, so you took action instead.

You took a ball of snow and threw it straight at the man. He didn’t seem to impressed or upset when it hit him square in the chest. You playfully glared at him and went to pick up another ball of snow. You were just about to throw it when he hit you in the arm, causing you to drop the snow, so the fight ensued and, by the end, you didn’t even care about being in the cave.

Emma Cullen

You were looking for a stress relief after the last Bogue visit. With a recent snowfall, heading out of town for anything was just out of the question. You didn’t feel like doing anything inside either; all of the housework that needed to be done just added to your sour mood, so you headed outside. You saw Emma not long after heading out and an idea struck.

Despite the surprise and possible inappropriateness of the situation, you picked up some snow, packed it into a ball, and threw it. Your aim was just off enough to miss Emma, though barely. She turned in surprise but you still had enough to make another ball of snow and throw it at her, hitting her in the side. She quickly grabbed some snow herself and returned fire. You vaguely began to wonder if you would pull in any other people with each snowball you two threw at each other.

Teddy Q

After the presumably false news from Bogue that the water was poisoned, everyone’s spirit in Rose Creek fell to a somber tone. With Christmas and the New Year having just passed, you wanted to try and find something to cheer everyone up. The winter snow made that a very easy possibility. One day, you got an idea in your head and you went with it. Dressing in your best winter clothes, you stepped out into the brisk air and headed into toward the general store.

There, you grabbed some snow from the top of a barrel and balled it up, all the while eying the foot traffic as people passed by. Then you spotted Teddy and a couldn’t help your grin as you aimed and threw the snowball. It hit him in the shoulder, causing him to stop in his tracks and glance to the remnants of the ball the fabric of his shirt. He glanced up, scanning over the area until his gaze met yours. A laugh escaped him and he ducked down, making a snowball of his own.

Bartholomew Bogue

You and Bogue could hardly be any more different; where he was serious and almost always business oriented in some way, you were fun loving and daydreamed a lot. When the snow fell in late January, you couldn’t help but get excited. You saw opportunity, which was exactly the reason you balled up some of that snow and threw it straight for McCann. It hit its mark. He glanced to you and you could see the twinkle in his eye that told you he wanted to throw one right back, but Bogue was standing there, dealing with something that you couldn’t remember, so he maintained his composure. Then you threw it at Denali.

The man caught it through the corner of his eyes and moved aside out of sheer reaction, leaving it to hit Bogue in the side of the head. Your lips pulled in toward your teeth as you attempted to keep your giggle fit at bay. The look Bogue gave you in the following moments said it all; he was not impressed and could not let the action go without recourse. “Mr. Denali. Mr. McCann,” he simply said. In that moment, you knew this snowball fight was not going to end well for you.
