mod yams speaking here! this will be our final post on the account, unless unforeseen circumstances arise. i just wanted to personally thank everyone who was with me on this journey over the last year

as some of you may know, this was my first time modding a zine, let alone being the head mod of one. there were a lot of things i needed to figure out along the way, and in all honesty, im just grateful this project was a success

every mod was invaluable, but i wanted to personally thank our writing mod kellen for being the Spreadsheet Master (in his words) and for putting up with my nagging. get yourself a man like kellen who is organized to a fault and can work a spreadsheet like nobodys business

to the contributors, i wanted to thank you all for giving this zine a shot. whilst smaller in scale (and thus less likely to fail), our mod team was otherwise inexperienced. yet you all valiantly took on the task and cooperated with us until the very end. im thankful to each and every one of you for putting in your all and for being patient with us during the production time. if you ever need any help, please feel free to reach out to me! ive got your back

to those who bought the zine: thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting the project. whether you were there from the start, or found out about it on the last day, your support made it possible for us to donate to a good cause, one that especially means a lot to me. while the contributors were the ones who voted on the charity to donate to, i cant deny that my fingers were crossed, hoping wed donate to a trans organization. sheik was, and is, a huge part of me embracing my own gender identity, and im so glad we could give back to that cause

I've been debating who to do this for. But I think it's inevitable, I need to do Aria Sapphire.

Aria has grow old, but I've played her for over a year now! She's the "main" sim of Gen 3 in my Sapphire legacy family.

Her favorite color is blue even if it was kind of forced upon her when she was a child (because Sapphire family you see). She prefers cyan blue though, not the dark blue.

She always aspired growing up to have a relationship like her mother and father. (I think she kinda did? She and James had some hardship at some point but were pretty much always intensely in love.)

She has a weakness to the moon as a mermaid. From Expanded Mermaids mod by SpinningPlumbob.

She never had a lot of close friends growing up, so the friend bracelet she is always wearing is actually one exchanged with her brother Kellen. (He is also her only best friend.)

As a young adult, she used to look forward her future reign as a queen. But when her grandmother died and she became the official heir apparent, she became fearful of her life as a future queen. Her mother Dahlia actually died only a decade later, making it even harder on Aria. (Yes, Marina lived LOOOOONG).)

Ericka Martinez is the daughter of Aria Sapphire's twin brother Kellen Lambert. Born a year after Arthur Sapphire, she is very close to her cousin and they are part of the same friends group. She is a pure soul who is sometimes too naive, especially when it comes to love.

She was the baby of the friends group that was created through the violin classes. Among this friends group, couples were made and undone. When they entered high school, Samson Hauata joined the friends group with his younger sister Gloria. She started dating him but he didn't take her seriously? Nowadays, their relationship has turned sour but she stayed close to Gloria to whom she regularly vents how her love life is catastrophic. Following Gloria's advice, she created a profile on Meet&Mingle and after a few unglorious dates, she met Storm. Though he is quite reserved because he is unflirty, they got along quick and he would often take the initiative with her. After their marriage, Ericka and Storm were not in a rush to have a baby but the idea was present in Ericka's mind, especially since Arthur had become a parent - and she secretly always thought she would become a mother before him. However, while she had no fertility problem, the same couldn't be said of Storm. The mention of expanding her family by Arthur became a more and more touchy subject for her as she encountered difficulty. After a long discussion, Storm and she opted for an IVF that was thankfully successful. Last Winterfest, they welcomed baby Liam to their family!

It is!! Pelo actually discovered Loner and Trick (back when the songs were part of the Flip-Side mod) and got the team into contact with Kellen Goff! The whole thing is still super cool to me

Also about the chromatics- YEAH. When people do them good, they do them g o o d, but there are a lot that. Aren't.

Honestly Challeng-Edd, the song SpookEDD is a remix of, shows that off: Edd's voice is perfect, Eduardo's is alright and least sounds like himself, but Tord's just does not sound like him at all! It's too autotuned, you can barely hear his original voice (or rather, the one from The End). Kinda bummed that became the defacto Tord voice because I don't really like it that much

And even going onto Spooky Month, for some reason those characters in general are just? Hard for people to get right?? When they even show up, anyways. Like I love Lila and Moloch showing up in mods like Fallen Angels and Funkin' MIX, but their voices are NOT right -- and Funkin' MIX's case is especially weird since they use an actual voice clip of Lila from Deadly Smiles during a cutscene

Even smth like Lila's voice in Marigold from the Halloween Mod. It's definitely better, but still off, y'know?

I think now it’s more shocking to me when a character actually sounds like the character than when they sound nothing like the character. I think Lila and Moloch in particular have harder voices to make sound melodic, but like they could still be better (the way Lila sounds in the entirely Spooky Month styled mod is in a league of its own I think. It’s almost FUNNY to me in a way).

Honestly I think even Skid and Pump don’t sound as such like themselves as they could. I mean I love how they sound but it’s definitely one of those things that separates the fnf versions of them from the actual versions of them.

Hi I'm mtf my birth name was Giordan and I always hated it so I repurposed that as a last name Giorgia. Currently I really like the name Kye short for Kyler but I want to see if there's anything else I can relate to before I make a permanent decision. I want something very gender neutral and I tend to like names that I can use a nickname for. I also really like color nature and space themed names but those aren't strict requirements.

-Skylar: has a similar sound to Kyler but is more feminine, can be shortened to Sky(e)-Andromeda: the name of a galaxy, can be shortened to Andie/Andy-Abilene: the hebrew word for ‘meadow’, can be shortened to Abi-Indigo: a deep, blueish-purple colour, can be shortened to Indy-Kestrel: not much nickname potential, but is the name of a type of bird of prey, and also just sounds really damn cool

saw a recent moondrop talking ab hearing their canon voice and was reminded of the absolute confusion i felt hearing mine. thank you kellen goff i appreciate your work but?? i am so sorry but who did the voice directing because that is not me. all in all canon me n moons voices dont fit the childcare situation very well either in my opinion. i think they could've done something really cool with softer voices, like something that feels so calm and welcoming but is actually coming for your throat TM

Someone should @ Kellen Goff and tell him to make a voice clip of Glamrock Freddy saying "I'm proud of you, superstar." Watch the fnaf fandom go into utter collapse at Papa Glamrock Freddy saying those 5 words.

~Old Memories from an Old Friend..~

"I do not come up here anymore. I miss him..”

Freddy murmured to himself as he walked around the Bonnie Bowl attraction. As much as he wanted to help Gregory get away from the dangers that wandered through the halls of Pizzaplex, entering the “Bonnie Bowl” attraction even after so long left the robotic bear with feelings of dread he thought he managed to suppress long ago. But yet as he gazed up at the stage where his dear friend Bonnie once used to call home, he couldn’t help but feel that sense of dread and despair hit him like a truck. “Freddy! The hour’s almost up, we have to get moving! Come on!” Gregory called out to him from within his chest compartment, he was currently trying to get his companion moving to a Charging Booth as the final minutes until the next hour ticked down. Snapping out of his funk, Freddy quickly rushed out of the dining hall and began a frantic search for the nearest Charging Station, all the while Moondrop’s raspy voice was getting closer and closer as the minutes ticked on.

Hearing the hatch of the Charging Station close, both Gregory and Freddy were finally able to let out an exhale of relief. Now they just had to wait for the next hour to start and they could plan their next move. “Freddy, what happened back there? You just froze up all of a sudden.” Gregory asked after a few moments of silence. “I apologize Gregory, I don’t usually like to be inside the Bonnie Bowl attraction, it brings back memories I prefer not to remember. It’s been ages since I last walked through those doors, but I had to push those aside to keep you safe.” Freddy explained to Gregory. “Do you wanna talk about it Freddy?” Gregory asked a moment of processing it all.

“Well, Bonnie was like one of us. He was one of the animatronic characters made to entertain kids. Whether it was playing bowling or rocking out on his guitar, he really knew what he was doing. Don’t get me wrong, Monty and Chica know how to play the guitar but Bonnie..Bonnie knew how to “shred it up” as he called it. Every person that went in that bowling alley stayed there till closing, and every person that went in there enjoyed their time. He was one of the best ones here and by Fazbear, he loved his job.” Freddy explained as he reminisced on the happier days. “He even taught all of us how to play bowling, of course it had to be after the pizzaplex closed for the night and of course we usually got in trouble for being out of our charging stations, but the many rounds we spent playing bowling was worth the many scoldings we got.” Chuckling, Freddy couldn’t help but smile as he recalled all the times the technicians would yell up a storm every time they found the group in the bowling alley.

“Well, what happened to him? Where is he now?” Just hearing Gregory ask that question alone made the happy butterflies Freddy was feeling wither away, and his smile slowly faded away as he recalled that tragic day. “Well, it was like any other day here at the pizzaplex. We just got done performing our shows and celebrating the birthdays, like any other day. It was really tiring and I decided to get a quick recharge in before Bonnie would come and drag us all to the bowling alley, but as time went on I realized that..he was taking his sweet time getting ready. At first I assumed he was doing just that and so I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Then I started to get nervous and decided to ask around. Roxxane didn’t know, Chica didn’t know, Monty didn’t know. The technicians, they didn’t really care about where Bonnie was, just telling me to check his room. And I did..” Freddy finished his sentence with an understandable moment of hesitation. “He wasn’t there, he wasn’t anywhere..I probably searched every nook and cranny of the pizzaplex that night. Just hoping to find my friend. I didn’t..”

Gregory’s eyes widened as Freddy’s tale reached its somber conclusion, he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt probing bad memories out of his friend. “Freddy, I didn’t know it was..that bad. I’m sorry..” Gregory said as he rubbed his arm nervously. “Don’t worry Gregory, I’m sure he’s somewhere safer then here.” Freddy couldn’t help but admit to himself, finally being able to talk about the loss of his best friend did help ease the pain. “I may have lost one friend, but I promise I won’t lose another.” Freddy said before allowing himself to charge for the next hour. Gregory smiled as he rested inside Freddy’s chest cavity, he knew Freddy would try his hardest to keep him safe. He wasn’t like the other animatronics out there. He was different, just like Bonnie was long ago..

To anyone following me: I'm sorry I'm in my Sims 4 obsession phase and I'll just randomly post my sims. They won't be pretty screenies but I love them still so this is just... Archive for me.

Some of my favorite couples. Just so you know, this save is just my testing gameplay I grew up attached to.

From left to right and top to bottom:

Marc and Marina* - Gen 0 - Tumultuous relationship. Baby trap?? They were messy and ended up ok I guess. (And yes, crowns and all are because I'm testing the Royalty Mod in that save and because it's pretty)

Alfonso and Estrella - Gen 1 - Childhood best friends to lovers. My dear randomized townie child Estrella, you are perfect and have the most patience to put up with that man child. (It's a shame I didn't keep any picture of them when older)

Tommy and Dahlia* - Gen 1 - They are just so cute. No specific tropes here.

Sawyer and Cataleya - Gen 1 - Enemies to lovers (I'm a sucker for that trope)

Kellen and Chelsea - Gen 2 - Granny Marina might have pushed for them. They have the most welcoming household.

Aria* and James - Gen 2 - If I know one couple that will never stop triggering the "dance intimately" animation coming with the ballroom dance mod, it's them.

The Stafford are used to travel a lot, following Milton's different business ventures (also he used to be an entertainer, a famous one, that's how he met Yolanda). But after discussing with her cousin Kellen's wife and child Ericka, the Stafford decided it was time to move from San Sequoia. They recently came back to live at Yolanda's childhood home in Newcrest. While Leïla is navigating teenage years - mainly having to move a little bit further (in my head Newcrest and San Sequoia are not that far) from her boyfriend, Sienna, her oldest sister, who recently reached young adulthood, has to choose if her passion for acting can become a real thing or if she will stick to being a young tennis athlete.

If anyone has a good tennis mod please tell me I'm all ears.

(Ezeken kívül még sok lemezbe belehallgattam, és maximum 10 percet töltöttem velük, mert annyira nem nekem szóltak vagy szimplán borzasztóak voltak, ezeket nem sorolom. És igen, ez amolyan laza sorrend.)     

Eszméletlenül sok olyan zene van ma (kösz soundcloud/bandcamp), amit az alkotója valamilyen (leginkább életkori) oknál fogva nem tudott megvalósítani akkor, amikor az újszerű, releváns, aktuális, izgalmas lehetett volna. Ezek között persze akad több olyan, ami legalább érdekes, ügyesen nyúl a témához, jól hallgatható, de ha már hallottad azt, amiket másolnak, akkor nyilván nem tudnak revelációt kiváltani (vagy csak nagyon kivételes esetben). És akkor ugye hallani is minek, ha nem másnak, hogy szóljon valami elmegy háttérzene. Rengeteg lemez esik ebbe a kategóriába, a szabad újrafelhasználás, a miért ne korát éljük.

Ugyanakkor ha nem ösztönöz a remény, hogy potenciálisan jó zenéről maradhatok le, akkor nincs is értelme új megjelenéseket hallgatni. Vagy a régiek közül keresgélni.

Ami még általánosságban jellemző, az a kislemez (albumtrekk)-nagylemez örök szkanderének aktuális kiélesedése. Még a legtöbb 6.5 alatti lemezről is tudnék egy jó számot kiemelni, és végülis nem ez a lényeg? Jó számokat hallgatni. Pont ez van, Spotify-kor definíció szerint: jó számokat kiválasztani, abból jó playlisteket hallgatni. De ha én baszom el ezzel az időt, akkor csak ezzel foglalkozom (és jó eséllyel úgy sem fogom két-három alkalomnál többször hallani), ha más, nem hiszek neki, nem hiszem el, hogy ne hagyott volna le valami jót és a végén becsavarodunk az értelmetlen, újzenét megszállottan (ennél, amit itt csinálok, sokkal megszállottabban) kereső spirálba. Plusz, ha tudtál egy jó számot, akkor hallani akarom, hogy tudsz-e többet is? Ha nem, az sajnálatos. Ha igen, akkor meg csinálj belőlük egy jó lemezt, ami képes egy egységes hangulatot, világot nyújtani, amibe szívesen elmerülök.

Ebben a hónapban két lemeznek is az a címe, hogy Unfurl. Sok februári LP volt már az első részben is, így ez a második most alighanem rövidebb. Kevesebb a kiemelkedő album, ennélfogva. Most is kettő tetszett nagyon, az egyik a legtipikusabb future pop, mindent bele Default Genders friss albuma, ő a reményteljes, de ki nem igazán teljesedő Elite Gymnastics egyik fele volt (ez a chillwave idején feltűnt zenekar mindent mashupolt: dreampopot, jungle-t, house-t, k-popot stb.), ez a második szólólemeze és a zenekarral elkezdett munka eddigi betetőzése. Perfekt jövőpop, ami természetesen nem jelent mást, mint, hogy 2019-ben ilyennek is kellene lennie a jó popzenének, miközben alig ilyen. A másik nagyon tetszetős lemez egy Ot to Not To nevű előadó harmadik albuma, róla nem hallottam korábban. A zenéjére nem én találtam ki a Talk Talk-os Mark Hollis-párhuzamot, ami tökéletesen illik:  mark hollis of experimental r&b. Valami nagyon szellős, szétszerelt-újrarakott folk r&b ez, nagyon távoli kapaszkodónak lehet használni Kindness-t, aki nagyon kicsit hasonlóan szerelte az 80s softpopos r&b-t néhány éve. Ebből a kínmondatból is látszik, milyen nehéz körbeírni a zenét, inkább hallani kell. Jó még a  Y La Bamba eklektikus indiefolkpopja, nagyon kicsit US Girls, ha ez segít, aztán a Lush-os milányunk, Miki Berényi új zenekara, a Piroshka egy több mint korrekt albummal debütált, persze vele elfogódott vagyok, ezt itt be is jelentem, de mindenesetre ez sokkal jobb, mint a három évvel ezelőtti Lush-visszatérő EP, és úgy általában is. Kellett neki három hallgatás, hogy a korrektnél többnek halljam, itt tartok most vele. Roses Gabor szerintem nem a mi lányunk, ha jól veszem ki, grenadai szülők gyereke (Gábor ZsaZsa ihlethette a nevét?) erős elektro r&b-t tol, a Feels nekemvalóan megkapó lofi-posztpunkot, a Fling pedig szórakoztató indiepsychedéliát, utóbbi három lemezt lehet, hogy kicsit túlértékelem. Majdnem ennyire jó még a Golden Daze télies, ártalmatlan dreampopja (picit Real Estate-es jangle is), amibe nagyon jó belebújni. Akárcsak a The Delines soulos altcountryjába. A Sleaford Mods ismét szórakoztató, zeneileg talán minden korábbinál, izé, zeneibb. Cherusii & Maria Minerva kiadványa félig posztumusz anyag, Cherusii fiatalon hunyt el, barátnője, Minerva gondozta, fejezte be közös felvételeiket, nyilván nagyon sajnálatos, hogy előbbi nem tudott kibontakozni, utóbbi viszont hosszabb hallgatást tört meg ezzel a jó lemezzel. Mi van még? Nyilván mindig keverednek a friss megjelenések közé pár hetes, hónapos kiadványok is, ennyit csak ilyen tempóban lehet feldolgozni. Nem nekem, a nemzetközi sajtónak, amiből mondjuk a Popmatters úgy tud minden nap pár lemezt bemutatni, hogy nem ismétli a Pitchfork-féle fősodor kínálatát és mégis érdekes. De amúgy nagyon sok mindent kell olvasni, hogy összeálljon egy ilyen kép, ilyen lemezsor. 

Ezek tetszettek a legjobban februárban. A második kupacban (és harmadik elején) még olyanok vannak, amiket szerintem abszolút érdemes meghallgatni annak, aki bírja az adott stílust, a harmadik-negyedik adagban viszont már azok szerepelnek, amikhez rajongónak kell lenni és úgy sem kizárt a csalódás.
