Today of Jan 13 2020 was a very hard day. Ugh this is the new year of 2020 and this had to have suddenly happen. Dx 

Not a good way to start the year but things can happen at any time, at any moment.

To give a heads up this is a tribute to the passing of my cat Mocha and the mention of another I had just before him name Malachi. If you don’t want to read this due to feeling that this is a sensitive subject then you have all right to scroll pass. It’s not like I’m gonna know and I rather my readers/followers to also be comfortable as everyone handles the passing of a pet differently.

About four years ago I lost a cat name Malachi and he was the age of 8 years old as his diabetes had him crash. I was in the process to find the right insulin for him as his body kept rejecting. The insulin would work for a while and then just suddenly stop. I was visiting the vet a lot just to find the right insulin but eventually he turned for the worse. After his passing some time in the spring of 2016. A few months go by and my brother calls me asking if I can adopt his mother in law’s cat and explained what was going on.

That’s where Mocha comes in some time in June of 2016.  I adopted Mocha when he was the age of 11 years old. He was owned by my sister in law’s mother. She couldn’t care for him anymore and needed a new home. He eventually made it to me once it was found out that my nephew was allergic as my brother and his wife took him in but didn’t expect their son who was just a toddler at the time would become allergic. I’ve had him for four wholesome years and I feel like I raised him since he was a kitten. He was a really, really good cat. He was extremely social. He loved to meet anyone who came in at my door and when I came home he was at the door or greeted my husband too when he returned from work. He was surely a lap cat. Any lap he can find he wanted to cuddle up and be there. He did it to not just us but anyone that was in our house such as my parents or my husbands parents etc. 

I have another cat name Madison and it was a bit of a tug of war with getting along but he had a very calm disposition. Hardly any fights and the most was Madison just growling at him and he would walk away. Other times I’d find them on the couch or in the bed sleeping almost side by side. It was a love and hate relationship I guess but they got along for as much as Madison allowed. Madison is at least 16 or 17 years old as she has been with me for as long as my marriage, she was with me for a year or two when she was just a kitten before I got married. So she’s in a granny age of stubborn. 

Mocha’s calm disposition allowed Madison to get use to him as we slowly introduced them. He eventually took rule of the roost as the dominate one, he became the top cat of the house. He’d follow me everywhere, including the basement which he loved the basement. I trained him to come to me when I call his name, just as I trained Madison too. He’d always would show up when I called him. He always slept at my side near my chest. His purrs were extremely soft that the only way you knew he was purring was to feel his chest. He was water obsessed, anything water he did not care he would let it rain on him as well as tried to jump into the shower. And would demand the bowls to be refilled even though fresh water was already in the bowl. As his care taker I and my husband would refill the bowl of water just to appease him. In just four years he became Mocha boy, Mocha Man and more nick names. He became our fur baby just as much as Madison is. 

When I first met him I fell in love with him immediately. Love at first sight does exist. He lived to the age of 14 years. Unfortunately he had developed cancer at some point of his life and the signs showed up all of a sudden, something was wrong with him this weekend. And to find out today he has cancer and all that we had discussed with the Vet to know the best plan for Mocha. As much as it sucks. As much as I dislike this part of letting go of a beloved pet. In the end he’s not suffering anymore and he gave me the best four years of his life. I have owned all types of animals in my childhood and up until even now. I only had one cat that portrays Mocha’s disposition and that was Bangle. He was another good cat during my childhood years. All cats have all their unique qualities to them but he surely left a big paw print on my heart. I’m going to miss him dearly. And I gave him as many kisses and hugs during the whole process. I’m just writing a tribute to him as well as Malachi as I don’t remember writing anything on him. And as much as Malachi and Mocha look almost the same, they are not of the same litter. They are just the same cat breed. 

To who ever is reading this, love on your pets extra always. It’s never easy to say goodbye but as long as you hold memory to every pet you have cared for, they are never truly gone. Always do what is best for your fur babies, even when it’s the most difficult and hurting.

A Royal with a Mission!

Malachi Fotea is a prince who is Photios’ fiancé making him future Scaramuse royalty. Unfortunately, his engagement was cut short when The Book of Unity was stolen. If the book is not returned on time, Photios will be punished in Sullivan's place, stripped of his princely title, and forced to flee the kingdom. Although Malachi is unhappy about being forced to marry, Photios treated him more like a friend than a future lover, which made Malachi feel more at ease around him.

Malachi follows Sullivan to ensure that the special book is returned so that Photios cannot be banished from Scaramuse as well as returning his prince title. Sullivan is initially dissatisfied with having Malachi, a royal, aboard his ship, and the two frequently argue. The intriguing aspect of this is that Sullivan has a crush on Malachi, but he doesn't want his old friend's impending marriage to be ruined because of his feelings. So he purposely pushes him away, emphasizing that they are not allies. However, after witnessing Malachi's personality shine throughout the voyage, he gradually begins to break down his walls.

Despite his circumstances, Malachi couldn't help but be impressed by the pirate ship. For the longest time, the young man had wished to go out to sea and enjoy the scenery, but he was unable to do so due to his prince duties. It’s always been his dream to sail the seven seas with someone by his side.

But, being on the same ship as Sullivan might make Malachi reconsider coming aboard…just a tiny bit.

TRIVIA:

Malachi can talk to Sirens and is null to their trance like voices. This made him slowly become friends with the lovely creatures and he even decided to give them cute nicknames to remember them.

The poor prince always gets bombarded at RSA with students excited for his marriage. Although he puts on a smile and thanks them kindly, on the inside he just wishes for them to go away

Photios always talks to Malachi like an equal and even tease and jokes around with him like an old childhood friend. Which sometimes confuses the RSA students a lot who think of them as a cute couple.

Malachi often teases Sullivan calling him “errand boy” instead of captain whenever they voyage together. Sullivan outwardly protest the degrading name but on the inside he’s loving every bit of it.

Malachai and I moved out of Riverdale to get away from the gang life. I wanted a normal life and so did Mal, so we moved to Salem Massachusetts. It was so beautiful and peaceful here, nothing like Riverdale. My absolute favorite thing about living in Salem was when it was fall. Once a week the two of us would go to a coffee shop and then go to our local park.

“Baby are you ready?” Malachai asked and I nodded putting on my coat.

“What are you getting today?” I asked as we walked down the street to the coffee shop.

“I’m not sure.” He said smiling. We quickly walked to the shop and the smell of coffee and sweets filled our noses. We waited in line and once it was our turn Malachai smiled at the young man taking the orders.

“What can I get for you today?” He asked.

“I’ll take a salted caramel pumpkin latte and two ginger cookies, please.” I said.

“I’ll take a mexican mocha and two honey cinnamon bars.” Malachai said.

“Okay can I get your names?” He asked, he was knew.

“James, that’s Y/N and Malachai. They’re like our number one customers.” Britney said and walked up the counter.

“Sorry, he’s new.” She said smiling and handing us our sweets.

“No problem.” I said with a smile.

“They’ll be right up.” She said and we nodded standing off to the side. We waited a couple of minutes and got our drinks.

“Have a nice day your two!” Britney said waving at us.

“You too!” I called back and we both waved at her. The two of us walked with our coffee and sweets down the few blocks to the park. We walked over to what has now became our bench and watched as the children ran on the nearby playground. The squirrels scurried along the ground and up the trees, while the birds filled the hair with their music. I moved closer to Mal and rested my head on his shoulder and took out one of our cookies. Mal took out one of the bars and we both sat in comfortable silence, watching the fall leaves fall to the ground. It was perfect.

“I’m so glad we moved here.” I sighed in content.

“So am I.” He said with a smile as he watched the kids play.

“Maybe one day soon we could have our own.” He said nodding his head towards the kids. I pulled back and looked at him shocked.

“Really?” I asked and he nodded with a smile.

“I would love to.” I said with a smile.

“Yeah?” He asked and I nodded. He grabbed my face and kissed me with so much love, it was warming my body from the cold.

“I love you.” He said resting his forehead on mine.

“I love you too Mal.”

ruby: a happiness headcanon

HR, back on Earth-19, had a husband by the name of Malachi. When they were younger, before blight wiped out all coffee plants, he and his then boyfriend would often go for coffee dates every day during their lunch as sometimes that was the only time they could see each other - what with HR just starting at STAR Labs and Malachi being a successful journalist. They’d spend their time sipping away at their mochas and sharing pleasant things that happened throughout the day, and once the day drew to a close, they’d kiss each other goodbye and wish each other well til the next coffee date.

This is why he has such a strong attachment to the beverage - it reminds him of the times when he was happiest.

Aza is often paired up with Caligo for missions, both having a sibling-like bond. Aza despite being scared all the time is quick on his feet and flexible. He is also one of the strongest but doesn’t seem to realize his own strength considering he doesn’t display it.

And yes that line... Malachi works at a coffee shop/cafe and there’s this guy that comes in all the time and Malachi doesn’t know his name, but he does know his order: Caramel Mocha.
