Digital Monster X-evolution
If those janky Digimon World cutscenes were a whole movie, it'd be this. To be fair, I think outdated CGI has a lot more charm than a lot of the higher quality but soulless stuff they put out nowadays. Plot-wise it was nothing special, we've seen this plot a zillion times by now. They just injected it with some new gimmicks. I did find the main character charming enough. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing another attempt at an all-CGI movie as long as that didn't become the new default (slippery slope lol).
Notes:
Although the plot of this film was really simple they managed to add some convoluted lore anyways...because Digimon. Just when I was thinking "that was confusing" I saw that this wiki has a 900 page long (not really lol) explanation/play-by-play. Maybe I'll read it when it's not my bed time: https://wikimon.net/Digital_Monster_X-evolution
Of course they had to open the movie with Leomon dying (really?) Why is that a thing? I've never felt emotional seeing any Leomon die tbh lol
I think Dorumon and his digivolutions have really strong designs. His rookie form kinda looks like a furry version of Monodramon. I've been playing Digimon RPG (the MMO) and just by chance ended up with him as my partner (I actually thought I was getting Impmon lol). Fate!
Not a lot of levity here, the script took itself very seriously and the characters spent most of the film just being existential and talking about the meaning of life. Kinda heavy for a silly little monster battle film.
Legit got a little emotional when Dorumon was being bullied, but it's really easy to feel sad for a furry little creature
The CGI actually held up better than I thought it would for the most part, the mecha digimon especially looked awesome. The only "AH! KILL IT WITH FIRE!" moment was Andromon -shudder-
(Of course, Andromon is ugly in any form, but this is definitely his worst).
Weird seeing Omegamon vs. WarGreymon. I was also surprised to see Magnamon in the Royal Knights. He just seems more beast-like to me than the other knights.
Tokomon was one of those "is it cute or is it annoying?" baby characters. I'm leaning more towards cute, but there were moments where I was like "alright, that's enough of him" loi
Dorugamon kinda reminded me of Toothless. I wanna pet his big nose :3c
They just couldn't resist, they had to call something in this franchise "Yggradsil" didn't they
(They also used other Norse names, the same ones used in Ah! My Goddess).
The funky X-forms of digimon were fun, very angular. It reminds me of the newer Pokemon games how they keep adding new gimmicky forms. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of these. I guess in a way, this is a more realistic "evolution" since it has to do with the digimon reacting to their environment by developing antibodies.
I saw people complaining that Frontier only had two Royal Knights, well I guess they made up for it a bit here. Are they always gonna be working for the villain side? I wanna see a series where they're the heroes!
It was neat seeing Silphymon again. I get excited when 02 characters show up cuz it's kind of the underdog season in my mind.
The villain digimon (aside from the royal knights) weren't very well explained they just kinda showed up, caused havoc, then went away. The only reason why I have a name for any of them is cuz I read the wiki. I guess it would be hard to naturally fit in all the names...
The name "Alphamon" was kind of an eyeroll. They're running out of epic names lol. (Also, it just makes me think of alpha bros nowadays). The design is nice tho, it's got the black w/ gold highlights thing that I liked in Frontier.
Lots of badass cape shots in this (see my final screenshot above)
At the end of the movie the digital world was destroyed and then restored (Frontier much?) It wasn't really clear what that meant for the digimon. Did they all just resurrect via digiegg? Were they recreated exactly as they were before the world's destruction? -shrug-
Pretty sad that this movie never got any love in the states. I wonder if there's a fandub out there somewhere.
Apparently Digimon World 4 is related to this movie so I'll be playing that next!

I've only played swtor so far (yeah I know 😔) but your blog is giving me EVEN MORE motivation to get a disc drive and kotor. I've got a copy of kotor 2 but I dunno if I should play the first one first or what
imma be real my only beef with swtor is its handling of kotor content. besides that i've heard a lot of good things about it and the ocs that have come out of it are really fucking good. i think outside of kotor stuff it's a perfectly fine mmo. i just don't play it because i basically lost my taste for mmos by the time it came out— i was a BIG world of warcraft kid, but towards the end of the 00's i really lost interest in the format of mmos, and swtor first came out in 2011. like you say 'star wars mmo' to me and i think star wars: galaxies. legit im just mad about the kotor stuff i think the game is fine. (i'm sure actual players like you have their own grievances with it)
as for playing kotor... imo you should really play the first game. they're two different games with two different protagonists, and i think in terms of depth and quality of story kotor 2 is waaaay better than the first game, but i also think the story of kotor 2 is less effective without playing k1 first. k1 is a bit intentionally silly at times and sometimes the writing is frankly godawful (carth onasi if you roll a female character is. eugh.) but it's quite fun if you like clunky 00's rpgs. k2 is a complicated narrative experience and i think one of the most important pieces of star wars 'canon.' but you lose some of that complexity imo if you don't go through kotor first.
#rené.txt#knights of the old republic#revan never shows up once in k2 but the game is more about them than k1 is imo

i feel like doing some silly polls again, so here's this one lmao. this is a multi part poll, the next poll will be released once the previous poll ends.
Just for reference:
RPG: Most Games by Square Enix, Undertale/Deltarune (to a degree), Omori
Platformer: Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Cuphead, Celeste
Visual Novel: Doki Doki Literature Club, Fate Series, Slay the Princess (Most Visual Novels do have a dating sim/stat raiser aspect, but not all of them. For example Slay the Princess)
Survival Horror: Silent Hill, Resident Evil
Roguelike: The Binding of Isaac, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Slay the Spire, Spelunky
First Person Shooter: Doom, Half Life, Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein, Team Fortress 2 (though realistically am I gonna make an r+ mmo? not really lol)
Puzzle Platformer: Portal, Little Nightmares, It Takes Two
Danmaku/Bullet Hell: Touhou Project, Undertale/Deltarune
Action-Adventure: Spider Man 2, The Legend of Zelda series, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, Skyrim
Simulation: Tomodachi Life, The Sims, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley
I tried to pick games that are mainstream enough for reference here. If you need definitions I'd be happy to answer, or otherwise just use google lol
#i'm aware most of us are 18+ and therefore know a lot of games but just in case some genres threw people off lmao#but yeah lmk your thoughts! the winners of each poll will be noted and hopefully turned into something in the future#medoh's rammpolls#r+ game development#rammstein#rammpolls

what's Crosscode? dunno what that is but i'm interested
SO. the quick synopsis is that it's an indie game where you play as a girl named lea that's playing in an mmo! she's lost her memory and the story revolves around her trying to recover it and figure out who she is!
in practice tho it's SO much more than that and it's a rly heartfelt story about friendship and identity, there's a BUNCH of twists that hit really hard in all the best ways
also seeing as you're a fellow undertale fan: the characters are fantastic and the humor is great, and it's also a really good deconstruction of the rpg genre (though while undertale focuses on classic rpgs, crosscode is moreso about multiplayer games!)
here is my favorite crosscode video which i must show to Everyone: (no spoilers, just going through the tutorial with new game plus features active! it is incredibly silly)

I've been working my way to getting all classes leveled up for Talia because... I'm insane and love to set impossible goals for myself. I haven't been talking about too many of them bcs I have nothing to say about most of them, but since I've played through 9 now
Here is a quick summation of my thoughts, ranked from least to strongest reactions I've had;
Paladin: This is boring. I'm bored. I don't care about any of these people or their dumb problems, let me kill class enemy lalafell.
Astrologian: I don't care about these people or their problems, I already know from MSQ and better job stories that Ishgard sucks. These outfits DO rule tho.
Dancer: Huh, that dance to cure people of the morbs turned out surprisingly relevant... too bad it didn't matter! Oh well. Who are these people? What are their problems? Nevermind, I don't care. Dancing scenes are pretty at least.
Red Mage: These outfits rule. But wow, I don't care about these people. I actually weirdly hate this amnesia girl? Not for GOOD reasons, just for like. Trope reasons. Not her fault, but still, I hate when she's here.
Samurai: I don't care until suddenly for 2 minutes at level 60 it stops just being fun Samurai movie homages and tropes and gets REAL with Musosai trying to suicide by WoL. A momentarily beautiful moment that reincorporates and recontextualizes a silly moment from earlier in the story, describing atonement through having to LIVE and make amends, arguing that remorse is what separates good from evil, and wow! This was great! I legit loved- oh, they immediately ruined it with the Stormblood quest to uphold the status quo of a corrupt regime and made Musosai's student morally in the right thus making his death and guilt meaningless.... well, I hate this! Least favorite class story now.
Reaper: I love a mean old battleaxe so Drusilla is rad as fuck and this is some fun lore on Emet and Garlemald in general. I choose to care about this because I headcanon that my own WoL is from Garlemald and this is relevant.
Ninja: This is boring and kinda sucks, but Karasu is here and I love him. An eccentric theatrical weirdo here to test the hero and cause problems for drama? Yes, I DO love trickster figures, thank you. Oh wait, he's not a villain, just a decent dude trying to get out of a bad situation and being cagey to cover his own ass and help you so you can get him out of this jam? Rad. But why can he control bats as his Children of the Night if he's not evil? ... Don't worry about it! I don't know if he's a GOOD character, but my god is he a FUN character. That's all I care about. Look at how much I love Zenos; I DON'T need depth to have a good time. That said;
Dark Knight: I am WEEPING inconsolably over Fray and Myste, chortling over Moogles and Sid, and Rielle is but one of my many, MANY adopted kids from this game. It is perfect. I could talk about Dark Knight for hours, I lost an entire day of progressing through story just having to be insane about the reveal that Emet Selch was a Dark Knight, perhaps the FIRST Dark Knight, because OF COURSE HE WAS. Dark Knights are about LOVE and grief manifesting tangibly, and oh my god, everything ties in together as a coherent whole. I'm not normal about Dark Knight. I'll never be normal about Dark Knight. It invades my brain and gives words to the Things I'm Trying To Say about characters and what I want out of stories. Finding out that the woman who wrote Dark Knight took over as lead writer got me through the worst of how much I HATED base Stormblood and thank god it did because it meant I stuck with this game long enough to play Shadowbringers and Endwalker and didn't consider Heavensward just a fluke. Dark Knight saved this game for me. Dark Knight is incredible. Dark Knight has more to say about storytelling, motivation, and a player's role in and relationship to a story than anything I've ever seen from a SINGLE PLAYER RPG, let alone an mmo. Dark Knight is fucking transcendent.
Fishing: This is the dumbest story so far and I fucking love it. I love traveling the world with this lunatic who took up work as an ASSASSIN to fund her fishing hobby. She has her priorities in order, she is the most correct about the point of this game and I love her.

Happy 10th birthday to my main, Quest Completer! The Vestige, the Hero of Coldharbour, Savior of Tamriel and Nirn, The Soulless, Moon-Hallowed, High King's Arrow, Eye of the Queen, Ahkatuz, Champion of dozens of dignitaries, deities, and political factions, and of course, Grand Master Crafter! Here she is with the senche-tiger she got for being old.
All of my characters have silly names like this, but unlike Quest Completer, the rest of them all have lore-appropriate 'real' names in my mind. The rest of them are people with fleshed-out backstories and reasons why they became Heroes. But QC is just The Vestige, the one without a soul (or a personality to speak of) and no memory of the past. The Vestige asks a ton of dumbass questions, such as "what does a queen do, exactly?", and in my mind this is because, while saving all of existence is a mundane occurrence to them, they are forever figuring out how to exist in a totally unfamiliar world while also being among the most powerful people in its history.
Because of that, and because the Vestige's dialogue contains very little emotion or humor, in my mind QC is basically No Fun and allows herself little ostentation. Even her whimsy, she takes deadly seriously, like she always has a great costume for themed dungeon runs, but she's lowkey competitive about having the best fit. She's a dual-wielding stamina-based Aedric Spear Templar DPS—about as basic as it gets, but she doesn't care about that; it's a very effective way to do a lot of violence, you have to admit. Despite her litany of accomplishments, she enjoys simple pleasures, like moving furniture around 1 centimeter at a time, learning crafting recipes, and running around fields looking for things to harvest. This woman and Bastian Hallix are bffs for a reason.
I overhauled her look for the occasion. Here she is new armor goofin:
And after 10 years I finally convinced her to get all dolled up for something other than a dungeon.
ESO was my first MMO; I liked Skyrim (my first open-world RPG) so much that I bought a computer just to play ESO when it came out. QC was the first character I made, when I had no idea what a 'build' was. She is maxed out in every crafting skill and weapon skill line, and every morph of all of her Class skills. QC made it to Veteran Rank 16 before the Champion system was introduced. She is only just now doing the Craglorn quests because she reached the end of Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold (both required to advance) over a year before One Tamriel, and I didn't know anyone else playing ESO, so I couldn't access group content. QC is old enough to remember when it was a bizarre occurrence to see another player outside of a city (or at all at night, in the Pacific timezone). She's also old enough to remember picking up literally every single quest she came upon because there just weren't that many quests to do. She truly is the Quest Completer.
QC and I learned how the fuck video games work together. Here's to another 10 years!

ayo :) same anon as before. more blorbo asks: 27 & 28
HI THANK YOU MWAH!
27. Blorbo has a favorite video game. What is it?
OKAY LISTEN! Gamer boy Eddie is the best thing that has ever happened to me!! I see the show having him play fighting games and I respect their decision to make that his foray into gaming, but I want to see Eddie expand into RPGs because I think he could really enjoy something like Assassin's Creed. I'd also give a lot of money to see him play an MMO and get to watch him create a character and run around in the starting area doing quests. 🥹 He'd probably stay away from first-person shooters, but him and Chris could have a lot of fun playing the Lego games together (Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is a goddamn masterpiece). Pokémon would probably be more up Buck's alley (watch him and Chris debate team compositions), but Stardew Valley and similar base-building games with a dash of adventure (Banished! Age of Empires in its own way! Maybe Cities Skylines!) could definitely keep Eddie glued to the computer.
28. Top ten things that you love about your blorbo
Oh gosh! He's silly, he cares so deeply for people, he has a bitchy streak, he's willing to put in the work and grow as a person, he would do anything for his kid, he's supportive, he loves his family, he's sarcastic and teasing, he is SO pretty, and he can dance (sorry Ryan but you are Wrong here and I will ignore you).
Send me blorbo asks!

Modern RPG games are not fun at all. Just grumbling.
Modern RPG games are not fun at all. Just grumbling. The plots about drama and overcoming villains are terribly banal, "The Hero (Insert: race, class, name) save the world!" that's why I get terribly bored in such games. And the worst thing is that often the authors do not even try to write a good plot. Also games not have permanent reactions to race and class, except for cosmetic moments, like that an NPC will mention it one day, and you'll be very lucky if there's a reaction to the race in a thematic quest, but the rest of the plot will always ignore it. Even if this world have racism, even if you are a rare race, everyone pretends that you are an ordinary human, who are always and everywhere the majority. As I understand, this happens because gaming world doesn't change, and companies copy successful formulas for quick money, and gamers accept each new version of Forgotten Realms as a new game. But I see that it's always the same adventure, where only the name of the world changes, and all these games can literally be in the same universe. As a child it was new and interesting, new different worlds, new stories, bright characters, a world that I wanted to be a part of. But now it's all just routine for me, all this the same old thing, worlds don't bring the joy of new discoveries, and I don't want to waste time on things. If in my youth I had a lot of time, now I don't have time nor the interest to study the many different differences in reactions to race, class, and style of play. But I still want to know, because I believe that there might be something new and interesting, and then FOMO appears, which is very annoying. But when I get something new, like it was in the plot of some RPGs and MMOs I played, I immediately and completely lose interest in these games, even though I loved them recently. So now I try to avoid those games because I want to play games to have fun and joy, and not suffering and worrying. The only game that worked for me is long dead. It was Wildstar. I still think about it with smile. I came to it very late, when the game was dying, but I really liked the style, the funny story, the silly characters. It was not serious, and it did not break the immersion at all, because the whole game was in a ridiculous style. So it was fun to fool around with. All races and classes were completely different from each other, and the story was simple but interesting, and I didn't have to worry that missing something. I would like more games that take you back to a carefree time, where you can spend as much time as you have. But now everyone is moving towards more naturalism and realism, while replacing verisimilitude with epicness. But what's the point if it's all the same anyway.I think that I'm the only one who feels this way, because I never find understanding for my opinion, and people perceive every new game as something completely new, something they've never seen. And I don't understand it at all. Submitted July 30, 2024 at 02:30PM by Popular-Hornet-6294 https://ift.tt/QnCljU4 via /r/gaming

once human is such a fascinating premise, has great visuals, good voice acting, the works....
but it's a fucking mmo 😭 i'm not an mmo person at the best of times but this game in particular seems like being an mmo is just so wrong? they could've leaned a lot heavier into the atmospheric horror if u were able to explore slowly and alone and actually be fearful/cautious of every figure instead of just being like oh some other player omg what's going in in this chat that i can't turn off ugh oh ig i will follow everyone to talk to this person. rly messes with immersion and it goes from an appealing horror to smth that feels almost, idk, silly? absurd in a bad way?
so my oh-so-official review is: would've been an amazing rpg, makes a shitty mmo. but the tutorial is rly fun and is imo where it shines the brightest, so that's the part i'd recommend ppl try on the free weekend

I probably won’t talk to your friend, but thank you, I appreciate the gesture :)
Now that I know that you don’t like to be annoyed at any games, I don’t thing we can play together, no, because I’m super annoying and knowing you don’t like being teased makes it even worse because I’m going to ignore this piece of information and simply annoy you even more to the point you will feel the need to block me (which I’m not proud to admit it but I know myself and I like to test people (even though my intention aren’t malicious, they purely based on me being a silly and l LOVE to annoy people I like))
But which game are you talking about? (secretly wanting you to invite me because now I have the urge to annoy you even more)
You should definitely get a cat, girl. A cat is fluffy, great company, fluffy, they puurr at you, fluffy, they have no boundaries you’ll wake up at me middle of the night having your cat sleeping on your face and even though you could die, it’s cute yk if I’m going to die, better be dying this way; have I mentioned that they are fluffy? And if you have that fear of responsibility towards another living being then starting with a cat can be a good thing
Is green tea your beverage of choice? You should give me your recipe because the green tea I know tastes so, SO bad
Okay then, the offer stands tho. Ok maybe 'teasing' isn't really the right word, more like trolling and griefing, like purposefully messing with someone else just for 'fun', i guess the best example i have is from WoW where priests can grip another player to themselves, so a 'friendly' player can just grip someone to their death. People find this endlessly hilarious and i just don't get it and it just annoys me. Same reason i'm *terrible* fun at competitive tabletop games and will only ever agree to a completely coop style game. Legit if u force me to play sth like monopoly not a single person is gonna have fun at that table guaranteed. Yes, i'm a sore loser, don't judge me >_< All a consequence of taking games wayyyyy too seriously for literally no reason, wish i could just *not*. I don't really have a specific game i'm playing right now, since, like i mentioned, on a reading obsession cycle rn ^^ Usually if it's multiplayer it's some kind of MMO (WoW most recently) so idk if u'd even be interested in that. I'd love to play a coop rpg like BG3 with someone, but legit trust me i'm impossible to do that with (tried with my best friend and even he couldn't do it). Think the only games i'm not a complete stick in the mud about are coop puzzle/puzzle platformers (recently played Unravel Two with a friend at work and it was hella fun). I knowwwww they're so fluffy i want one so badddd. I just really really don't think i could provide a good enough home and care for one right now. Legit my anxiety and dysphoria basically rule my life it's quite frustrating (yes i know that's my fault for letting them, i'm tryina work on it (it's not going well)). No recipe, just a random store bought pack. Yeah green tea on it's own is pretty bland (tho idm it really), but some flavor really goes a long way, like i said jasmine is my pick, tho i liked lemongrass too. So it's either that or earl grey for me. Or lemon and ginger that's good too.

Fishing is overdone and usually super passive and boring. The only games I can think of where fishing is fun is RDR2 and Stardew Valley, and even then they start to get repetitive after a while.
Treasure hunting can be fun, but a lot of games make the mistake of only giving you money. Fallout 4 did it well; giving you permanent bonuses for finding things and giving you unique objects that you could either sell for cash or display in your bases.
Card and board games are usually also gambling minigames, and they’re also usually implemented in such a way that most players will almost never interact with them. Who actually knows how to play Caravan? Nobody.
I don’t know about any games where gardening isn’t a main gameplay mechanic but is any more complicated than “plant crafting material, it grows in a certain amount of time.” I think there’s room for a game to have more realistic gardening/horticulture when it isn’t the main focus.
Crafting is usually pretty boring when it’s not a main mechanic. I generally don’t interact with it in MMOs and I barely use it in RPGs. The best non-essential crafting system that I can think of is probably Fallout 4’s gun crafting because it lets you get a little silly with it.
Cooking is what I picked because when it’s done badly it’s basically just another thing you craft like everything else, but when it’s done well, it’s done really well. Guild Wars 2’s cooking made me actually enjoy an MMO crafting system. Breath of the Wild’s cooking is super fun and can give you great bonuses if you find the right recipes.
Meanwhile I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game include bug catching as a non-essential mechanic since Twilight Princess. It’s just such a niche hobby localized to very specific regions so it doesn’t really get put in anything.
by "nonessential" i mean that these are minigames or sidequests or upgrades within the base game and dont necessarily need to be completed to move forward with the story!

bruh maybe its bc im a filthy filthy casual or something but seeing ppl on genshin subreddits and such say things like “rotation” is absolutely taking me out. like
to me - rotations is for games like ffxiv, like strictly hotbutton games with timed mechanics and stuff, you know. genshin to me is like. regular hack n slash rpg free open world like nier. of course, the action isnt as polished per say as platinum games’ hack n slash like nier (they did the action/combat systems i think while SE/yoko taro team did basically everything) or bayonetta or dmc. not. like. ffxiv....like....the amount of enemies and stuff and the huge variety of actions and freedom of movement in genshin is just. like. rotations????? ROTATIONS IN MY NON-800 MENUS OPEN IN ANOTHER SCREEN STIFF COMBAT RPG GAME THAT IS NOT A TRADITIONAL MMO???????? WHAT DO YO UMEAN GNESHIN HAS “ROTATIONS”“‘ ?????? BRUHHH
anyways im going to farm good artifacts for childe bc i think that, for silly meme reasons of being mr. worldwide strongest man in the world, i think that making my main DPS options childe, zhongli, and raiden shogun will be silly and fun and my childe built kinda sucks and i have to farm the kinda super un-fun dragonspire domain for the hydro attack/crit attack set ugh. at least the domain for Ei’s artifacts in inazuma is pretty fast and easy to grind, same with the tenacity of the milithe (bruh idk how to spell liyue’s military) and the archic petra domains. childe’s heart of hyrdo (+ pale flame set) or whatever is so. ugh.
peak of vindagnyr haters my beloved we’re suffering together in trying to make this dumb little russian man our main at least i can maybe bennett + diluc + sucrose/jean flame/melt those ice enemies or something idk uuugghh i should co-op with more childe mains more maybe they will know my pain
edit: oh yeah is anyone didnt know but like the genshin subreddits are so funny to me like so it seems that there was a bit of drama or something but the mods of the main genshin sub are genuinely trying to do better but its also hard bc genshin is such a normie popular waifu bait game but like on the main /genshin_impact sub over the summer or whatever anytime a fanart of the boys were posted in like swimsuit wear/no shirt stuff or literally just their normal clothing shirt and all it would get downvoted/reported to be removed or something but a ton of the female “waifu” characters in literal bikinis/”less modest”/”more skin showing” clothing would always get fanart reposted or them and a ton of updoots so like the genshin reddit community has like r/genshingays or genshin_gays or whatever + (charactername)+main like r/xiaomain or r/bennettain and stuff so that us male character enjoyers can enjoy our husbandos/sons without getting flamed by a ton of neckbeard waifu fans whose fragile masculinity cant take seeing muscular shirtless male characters without throwing a hissy fit and all anwyays the r/childemains is friendly it seems and they have advice on artifact building thank you comrades! (artifact advice posts on the r/childemains sub)

i think part of me is a little sad they never played final fantasy on the gaming channel, which from a logistics standpoint makes sense those games are obscenely long and they only completed a couple games on the channel really, but its funny cuz like they obv like the series a lot, the gaming channel banner has a little pixel mage and buster sword, they went to the cafe, phil had that squenix spon, they both used the music in old videos quite a bit, in tabinof they listed "The Gold Saucer" as an idea for a gaming channel name....... so like why did they never play even like a random ff spinoff game on the channel? why'd they never play the mmo on the channel?
UH OH DEMON THEORY TIME jkjk but i think that series is so special to them that even if they reference it constantly in little ways, the bond they have with that series (especially ffvii) is too important to put on their silly gaming channel. like the closest thing we got to them playing an ff game on dapg is The Mark Of Oxin just cuz its an rpg with a lot of ffvi and vii references and i genuinely think thats on purpose, like this was an important series to them before they met (hence 14 y/o phil making the mark of oxin) but their bond over this game is genuinely too strong for them to just let it be seen so publicly.
#im not even gonna mention You Know What#but also yeah that could be included in my evidence of this series being incredibly important to them#oh also they went to a gay club as catboys in xiv but thats unrelated#am i just fixating on this cuz ive been playing a lot of xiv IDK#this is all truly demon theory cuz like the reason is those games are long and turn based is boring for viewers#even tho like undertale and mark of oxin worked but they cut out a lot of the combat#mytext

i am so obsessed with fandaniel tbh. epitome of guy i want to shake around in a jar and study. i want to bite him. i want to put a clown nose and cat ears on him and watch him burn down the world and fall off a cliff.
#⋯ ꒰ა starry thoughts ໒꒱ *·˚#⋯ ꒰ა ffxiv ໒꒱ *·˚#he tickles my brain in a way no other can ... i cannot describe the different powerful holds ffxiv characters have on me#his introduction... the first time he introduces himself to zenos. and the first time you get acquainted with him#and all of his appearances until the last. and. and. all parts of fandaniel are just so...!!#raha and themis are my faves and theres hyth and alisaie and venat and so many more but then theres zenos and fandaniel#i love how ffxiv does their antags tbh. there is a certain flavour to it i cannot really describe#i love the different stories of people who deserved 'better'. but they've caused so many atrocities too and#not everyone gets their redemption arc but some do! some do. even if it takes a long slow time#<- stormblood with that ... and shadowbringers ......#all parts of ffxiv story mean something to me even with all the imperfections. and. agh. yeah#i think of the warriors of darkness and the shadowkeeper. their story. i think of mide and her love. their story. i think of the dragons#and how they tell their stories in song. i think of the dad who could have been such great heroes... i think of what they could have been.#and ffxiv makes me think so much and there's just such a massive world and it isn't even all of it yet. and there are so many other worlds#to explore! i am just so in love with final fantasy xiv. the way it is an mmo and an rpg. and very good at both.#the way the journey of 2.0 started with the world literally being destroyed... the way it is an mmo and for a long time our journey truly#will never end. the way millions of people have a sense of comraderie from just playing this game even with the so many different playstyles#and kinds of people who play it. the way those behind the game truly love and know it and respect the playerbase. and there is just so much#in it and i love final fantasy xiv so much and just. man.#this came from a post talking about how silly fandaniel is... oh my god
