... so this is just spitballing. In my little transformers prime or mltfp, Primus and Unicron loosely take the roles of Celestia and Luna. They are, however, far more removed from the average pony. A lot more eldritch

They usually would take on an avatar, or herald, each to help guide the ponies. These ponies would become alicorns. The pony chosen by Primus would be given the suffix Prime, while those chosen by Unicron would be titled High Protector.

But Unicron grew corrupt, grew ever hungrier for more power and so Primus was forced to bind his other half deep beneath the earth.

So, for a very long time, there has only ever been a Prime. There's no living pony to remember a High Protector.

Until one day the pony known as Orion Pax is chosen as Prime. And since they are ponies, his friend Megatron is very happy for him.

Megatron is a miner, and he stumbles upon something that should've remained hidden. He is turned into a twisted mockery of the once noble High Protector, very similar to Sombra maybe?? But Unicron distorts whatever negative feelings he has and turns them way worse.

It's basically a story about redemption and friendship in the end. Darker than the usual mlp, lighter than the usual tfp.

Oh now that's cool

Primus and Unicron would look so fucking dope, I'm gonna figure out the titles later because damn they'd be so pretty, and now that i realize it there's cool parallels here one can make with the Nightmare Moon stuff. Instead of being locked onto the moon, Unicron is imprisoned beneath the earth.

The system of how Primes and HLPs work is cool and makes sense, and it's an interesting blend of TF lore at play.

Oppy becomes a prime, which is cool, and it's interesting to note how Megs here was initially happy for him.

May i suggest the thing he wasn't supposed to find was a big hunk of crystal? I'm reminded of the . what are they called again, the infinity stones: friendship addition. THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY, that's it. I'm reminded of the elements of harmony, and the surprising amount of power they contain. ... but oh no no no, I wasn't thinking about what they did in the normal series, rather I was thinking about what happened in one of the Equestria Girls movies: the one about Camp Everfree. The one camp councilor found the elements in a geode, and their power ended up corrupting her and her good intentions into one of my favorite my little pony villains. Plus, it'd be a cool parallel to the dark energon we see Megatron bring to earth in TFP.

*edit: i suggest we compare mltfp Megatron post redemption to how Sunset Shimmer is after the first movie? Maybe?

I agree with alikening him to King Sombra, because that guy's design was cool and it'd be so cool to see how that translates into this with Megatron originally being an earth pony.

Now, may I suggest Starscream being a pegasus who was kicked out of the Wonderbolts?

Shockwave as a pegasus, but you can't tell bc he always wears a lab coat covering his wings and he never flies. However he has also developed himself an artificial mechanical horn to perform questionable science magic, and the horn is part of some visor or helmet to give him the single optic look. And at Some Point he is forced to actually use his wings for something and everyone is like holy Fuck Shockwave is an alicorn ???? but he of course is not a real alicorn this is Science alicorn lookalike

Giving him access to a universe with magic in it might be such a decision because in mlp? Magic has rules. Rules that aren't discussed very often, but rules nonetheless. He can logic them out enough to try and modify himself into a unicorn, then proceed to scare the shit out of everyone by actually flying.

I feel like a lot of ponies would have so many damn opinions about him being a pseudo-alicorn. So... so many opinions. There is so much symbolism around alicorns in their universe (in FiM, yes, but from what we've got Even More in mltfp.) and this would defy a lot of that symbolism. We don't see science mixing with magic very often in the series, but we see it sometimes. In FiM, the technology at the time just IS less advanced than it is in fifth gen, so that adds an extra layer to Shockwave having this level of proficiency at it (ohhh it would freak so many folks out. Because they've never seen anything like this.) He would look so freaky.

I'm wondering if there's a ☆story☆ around why Shockwave doesn't use his wings often, or if it's as simple as he doesn't want to.

May I suggest changeling!Soundwave? They have an interesting design, both their initial appearance and their shared-love appearance, and I feel like it's just alien enough for him.

Appleloosa is right there meaning i just gotta add Cliffjumper in here, say he's from there, and he's an earth pony. He lives this time, and if he was actually in FiM he'd be mildly related to Applejack because the Apple family is/was massive as hell.

Ykw? Arcee is a pegasus but like Fluttershy she doesn't fly very much. Because i feel like her color palette would look good as a pegasus.

I agree with the one ponysona post i reblogged, Knockout is a unicorn and Breakdown is an earth pony: Clydesdale addition. It's too sweet of an opportunity to miss. They met in Las Pegasus after both of them accidentally (well as accidentally as you can get considering gambling) losing all of their bots.

Remember Fluttershy: batpony addition? She looked so damn cool in that episode, i think there was a callback to it in the halloween episode where Luna came back for the first time after being Nightmare Moon. Why do i bring this up? That's 100% how Dreadwing and Skyquake are designed.

Ratchet complains about Ponyville constantly but he loves the place just the same.

Wait there's possibility here for hippogryff! Soundwave here too, that's also an option.

The Decepticorns are based somewhere in Everfree Forest because of course it's Everfree Forest there's so many fucked up things in that forest. They deal with timber wolves constantly and it's kinda hilarious. Somehow they like Starscream but he hates this, he doesn't want to be the wolf puppy whisperer.

Arachnid our dear friend is also a changeling but her favorite disguise is well bugs. She's exactly got beef with Soundwave.

An evil part of me suggests that Optimus Prime still gets a battle mask here that he wears very often because he's got scars, but these scars were from a silly in hindsight accident. This is exactly inspired by the time I slangshot my way into the ER.

There are exactly moments in the history books about Primus and Unicron that are framed as serious but in actuality are based on funny sibling shenanigans before Unicron was corrupted. Nobody but the brothers know the truth about this.

Unicron's interactions with Megatron are more frequent than canon tfp and they are... distressing to say the least. He keeps his heralds on a much tighter leash.

Starscream ambushes Arcee and Cliffjumper from above quite an amount with varying results.

... I'm tempted to add the tfp kids and base their ponysona dynamics off of the Cutiemark Crusaders. Miko is just too much like Scootaloo for me to pass up that opportunity.

Ultra Magnus = royal guard kinda yeah yeah yeah but he has significantly less success in wrangling the autobots than he does in tfp canon.

i am exactly looking at Predaking and i am exactly looking at FiM Spike and I propose a scenario. Shockwave: unicorn addition found a young lone dragon years ago and took him in to study Predaking as his own. Because this means Preds would be older than FiM Spike, this means by the time he meets Megatron and joins the Decepticorns he is quite an amount larger and has his wings.

I'm torn between suggesting MLTFP Shockwave's backstory is akin to Sunset Shimmer's, Trixie's, Starlight Glimmer's, or something else entirely. All i do have is that he's an evil unicorn with a dragon and an eyepatch.

Breakdown also has an eyepatch but unlike in tfp canon it isn't explained.

wAIT WHAT IF SHOCKWAVE HAS A BROKEN HORN LIKE WHATSHERNAME? what is her name? She's got a namey-name, an edgy one, she's from the movie which i loved dearly, uhhh google time. Tempest Shadow, that's who she is. Loved her.

Starscream's cutiemark is a star.

Shockwave's magic is based on well shockwaves, though since his horn is broke it is less predictable than one would expect. I want to say that his horn was broken a little later in life than Tempest's, meaning he had already gotten familiar and skilled with his magic before.

Starscream's red sticky uppy part in tfp canon becomes a red hairlick that moves (especially when he's pissed or excited)

The Knockout, Optimus, and Breakdown scene happens kinda because I'm sorry but I think Knockout deserves to flirt with Optimus still.

Knockout has electric based magic.

... i almost want to say skyquake and dreadwing still end up dying but it's not "on screen" this time.

When Bumblebee flies he's got smaller fluttery wings so he flies more like a changeling, a bee, or that one buff white pegasus we see a few times

It's still Predaking who causes the loss of UM's hoof.

I almost want to say Bumblebee can talk in this and it's like a running commentary like in TFA, but often times he chirps/whirrs like he does in tfp canon. It's adorable.

Instead of the Nemesis being a warship like it is in canon it's this badass underground base or a castle. Evil castles are always amazing.

Bulkhead is an earth pony with an anomalous past involving Breakdown, their fights are still On Sight. His cutiemark is a wrecking ball.

Maybe? Smokescreen shows up eventually and I'm torm between him being an earth pony, a pegasus, or something else entirely. His colors would look way so cool in the FiM style, whether it's his s2 or s3 paintjob.

Wheeljack would make an amazing unicorn and he still gets his explosions in his magic. i keep going on and on about the paintjobs but seriously i love how they'd translate. He deserves his magic to be green.

I could see Megatron also being a draft horse base, which brings me to the subject of flowy manes. The Unicronian corruption should make it purple, and because he was a draft horse, purple feathering. While still flowy. Dramatic AF.

Would kinda look like each step he took corrupts the ground beneath him.

Ohhhh that's so cool as hell, like. Yes. He deserves to lookm cool, and it does make sense.

Also on the buff alicorn thing that's secretly amazing because i don't think we ever see that, or any alicorns with a thicker build. Celestia looks like an elongated horse rather than a pony, I'm sorry but I'm right, and Cadence is like a mix between that and your typical pony build. It's been a while so I can't really describe her build well but it's like Celestia but shorter and almost rounder? Twilight basically stays the same until the finale where she's a lot like Celestia. Flurryheart is baby so we gotta exclude her. But we don't see any alicorns different than the princesses in the show (well we don't see any alicorns who aren't princesses in the show.) So it'd be a delightful idea to have an alicorn with a stronger build. Idk if describing ponysona megs here as a "part time alicorn" is correct here or not but it'd totally mean he's got a cool and undoubtedly unique design. so fucking cool. The feathering would be so cool as well, we only see that a few times in the show with the ponies: clydesdale addition and the hippogryphs (look it's spelled somehow in the show you get the vibe) who iicr one of these has more feathering than the other. Rightfully dramatic, perfect for a villain such as Megatron.

Just thinking about a TFP mlp au... I feel like Megatron would somehow be an Earth Pony that ascended into an Alicorn. Ruins his message a bit, but I don't see how he could otherwise oppose OP who totally is an Alicorn.

Hmmm so I have a few ideas that can help with this.

It could be like Sunny's situation where he's only an alicorn part time. It could be like one of the other characters, the villain who came with Starswirl's group. The kid who ended up being corrupted into a dangerous force.

... wait that actually might be our best option: I exactly see an opportunity here to directly make a comparison between dark magic and dark energon because remember the alicorn amulet Trixie got? Just me? She might've been a unicorn, and that's who we usually see fucking with magic, but we know for a damn fact that yes earth ponies have magic. So we can fully go that route here.

i have just realised some parallels with idw shockwave

used to be a flier then became something else. As to why he doesn't fly, perhaps his wings got damaged in a lab accident and he's missing feathers and can't fly well (also adds to Aesthetic)

Also making himself an alicorn mirrors how he just went back in time and assigned himself Onyx Prime that 1 time

So far what we've got from recent shenanigans:

Fractured reflections: baseline mecha are dumped into the SG universe, chaos ensues as the baseline mecha realize quickly just how horrible SG Optimus is. Rodimus and Megatron end up attached at the hip after The Horrors™️. Kinda a mix of g1 and IDW?

shards of stars au: baseline tfp Starscream is dumped into the SG tfp universe and is completely adopted by the shattered glass decepticons. To him all of this sounds too good to be true

Mltfp: transformers prime but also make it my little pony. Optimus is an alicorn prime, Megatron was an earth pony turned into ~something else~ by Unicron. Really fucking dope designs, the Autotrots and the Decepticorns.

Love boat au: Swerve orgy parties end up getting mecha sparked up, Megatron ends up revealing he's had no formal sexual education. Ratchet gives free interfacing courses because these fuckers need them.

💫Bottom bitch💫 Getaway: well what it says on the tin, Getaway gets knocked up by Megatron, consequences occur.

Where sire au: Megatron has a litter and will not tell anyone who the sires are, there's a fucking forum for it and everything.

A Glitch In the Matrix: Glitch accidentally destroys the matrix, ends up leading the quest to find the Knights of Cybertron out of religious guilt. No war au.

Forced Redemption Arc Au or (paradigm shift) : the matrix can slowly but surely turn bad people into good people, and Shockwave is in for one hell of a journey.

TFP Looking Through The Glass au: Shattered Glass Optimus (who currently looks identical to BL Optimus) temporarily replaces BL Oppy, and it takes the autobots a bit to realize what has happened. Tfp Megatron finds him super hot actually, BL Optimus returns, and wow is SG OP able to entirely discard the personality mask now

you are/arent the sire au: so IDW no war, Megs is in medical school but Impactor is still a miner. Somehow, these two fuckers got knocked up by the same sire... But did they? Nope! TC and 'Warp, who were both painted as Starscream in an illegal money scheme, did it, and the law things Starscream did it. Paternal test ensues, Star still ends up as beta-sire. Now, sadly to him, these grounders have gotta stay with them.
