Alrighty, seems like we’ve finally got a return of pony, with episode 14, “That’s a Laugh”. Synopsis on the screen is telling me it’s gonna have Cheese Sandwich in there again.  So things will undoubtably be a bit on the goofy side, leaving us with the question on if there’s gonna be any shipping fuel as well between Pinkie and Cheese.  Or would the thought of Pinkie getting romantic with anypony be a laugh?
 * How is Dash the last person to show up for an emergency meeting?  I’m guessing the others must have been closer by.  Actually come to think of it how did Pinkie send the message? It kinda seems unlikely she’d go around to everypony and ask them to meet up rather than just gathering them as she went.
* Did Cheese Sandwich just become Equestria’s Willie Wonka?
* Pinkie using AJ’s hat as her purpose is a pretty good one.  What more purpose would she need?  Oh, and uh, apparently she’s wondering what she’s gonna do with her life. Yeah… heh heh… been there… constantly.
* That sure is a “fun” looking factory!
* That sure is a pony in a Cheese Sandwich suit!  …Definitely getting the vibe this episode is going to be about the soul crushing nature of the business world.
* Either Cheese isn’t actually there, or there’s gonna be a revelation about how he’s in a rut and so invited Pinkie to get some new ideas for his lineup.  Which she seems to be doing a pretty good job of, albeit unknowingly.
* I dunno, I think the slipperiness is inherit to the comedic value of the banana peel.  I mean, having stickiness would be unexpected, but then it’s just annoying.  Of course slips have a far greater likelihood of causing injury than sticking in normal contexts and it humor shouldn’t be trying to cause harm.  Transgress societal norms and offend as necessary, sure, but not harm.  Hmm… that is a tough one.
* Yup, Cheese is in a rut.
* Sounds to me like Cheese would be better off leaving the more immediate supervision of the factory in Sans’ hooves and going back to direct interaction with the public.
* It is kind of interesting that Sans doesn’t seem to be portrayed as a villain here.  I mean yeah, everything went wrong once he came along, but he did have a solution to the problem Cheese was having at the time and he does seem worried about Cheese’s condition.  It’s just that, well, Cheese isn’t the right person for this kind of career.
* You know, they say you can’t dissect a joke without getting all these icky gooey gory bits all over, but that seems like what the factory has basically done to Cheese.  He’s gotten so used to crunching the numbers of jokes that he doesn’t see them as jokes anymore.  Definitely needs to spend some time out in the field rather than in the lab.  Of course he doesn’t want to be seen until that problem of his is solved, getting him in a Catch-22.  And he never even read the 21 previous books!
* Yeah, Pinkie might have figured out the problem, but she needs to find a better audience stand-in.
* Unintentional spoonerisms to the rescue!
* Sans’ humor weak point is puns?!  That’s it! I’m shutting this factory down!
Well that’s the episode. And while I may not think it’s one of the greats, it is a pretty good one.  Both Pinkie’s and Cheese’s dilemmas are fairly relatable in an abstract form at least, and Sans might have been partially to cause for the problem, but he wasn’t a bad pony just because he was serious-minded compared to the two clowns. So overall I have no complaints about this one.
Now to see how many screaming Pinkie “fans” want me to keel over and get sodomized by a red hot cactus (not necessarily in that order) because I didn’t give the episode a 11/10 review!
