This has been constantly on my mind the past few days and I've been doing some self-reflecting as of late.

Do I need to keep putting emojis in my posts? Do I need to keep putting in gifs when they're not needed despite the fact that I often put in one or two (or more)? I'm not a child, that much is clear, but do I come off as childish? I look at my Tumblr page and look at all the cutesy stuff I post such as MLP, Sailor Moon, Winx Club, etc. and while I do love those shows, the fact is they were intended for young audiences. I mean, look at my OC and my hand-drawn art! It looks like a little kid could made it in a heartbeat! People often see hand-drawn art as childish because it's not digital paint. Digital art is used much more professionally and that's understandable. Do people see me as childish? Maybe I should make some changes? I should do more to ensure that I take things seriously? I'm sorry, this comment just had me thinking a lot, that's all. I do admire and appreciate everyone who is a part of the ZSakuVA Crumpet Community no matter what posts they make and all the creative things they do. I'm just wondering what I could do for the future, you know? As a writer/creator, it's important for me to wanna do better rather than always stay the same.

So Lalaloopsy was originally created in about 2009 as Bitty Buttons, but the same had some copyright disputes so it was changed about about 12 dolls? The original 8 and the four succeeding them have very rare versions with this packaging.

Dolls were released in waves of about eight every season or so, outside of limited editions and such.

Initially, the canon was limited to the descriptions on the backs of the boxes, some books, and a few web and DS games, before the first animated universe came about, consisting of web shorts and a movie.

Eventually Nick Jr. picked up the franchise for six more movies, more shorts, and a two season TV series. Like all of the VAs for the franchise were nobodies except in the Lalaloopsy Girls movie for some reason.

Then the Nick show caused a lawsuit since the company behind Lalaloopsy (MGA) didn't pay as much for it as they said it would, which I assume didn't help with the steady decline of the brand (cheaper dolls, less creative ideas, etc), before Netflix picked it up for a show.

The Netflix show sorta bombed, they only made five dolls and some minis and I don't think anyone really cared outside of existing fans, a lot of which were turned off by the more realistic direction taken for the dolls and changes to the story, with fan favorite characters being omitted such as Peanut and Cloud E.

Lalaloopsy sort of died after the Netflix show until the 10th anniversary re-released in 2021ish, old and new dolls just like the old ones coming out and old songs and movies getting YouTube uploads. Nothing's really happened since but hey.

Fun facts: the series was racist a lot, I think they've been getting better but c'mon, Mittens, Mango, Sahara, Yuki, Feather, the fact that Dot was the darkest character and got like no merchandise, the whitewashing of Cinder, I think they've been rectifying some of these things lately thankfully.

They've tried to ride the coattails of mlp (ponies) and monster and ever after high (girls) to eh results

The Babies Diaper and Potty Surprise dolls probably foreshadowed the oddly scatalogical direction MGA has taken in recent years

Like everyone is neurodivergent coded in the Netflix series

People thought Suzette La Sweet and Crumpet Hearts were getting married in the Sew Royal Tea Party bundle

I think Rosy's design had to get changed because of violating Red Cross guidelines at some point

For some reason Bundles is shown with a pacifier a lot even though she's never come with one outside of a mini, same with Rosy's hat and Misty's gloves

(My dad used to put my dolls up in trees and it made me sad, that's neither fun nor a fact but)

sitting here looking at the goodwill listings for ponies

this lot has 10 bids on it and is up to $45.

There is a pony in the front mimddle that is clearly Sunbeam from other photos but Sunbeam doesnt have rollerskates so either shes modded or theyre removeable?

oh actually, the pony over to the left looks like it could be Heartthrob, which came with these little roller skates, and someone just put them on Sunbeam.

gosh, they also have a nice tossles (right), I really like the pose of that one, its called Crumpet pose. I drew fanart of tossles way back in the day, shes like one of my favorites even though she's objectively like not that different from the rest.

That lot has one of the princess ponies AND one of the boy ponies. Gosh, its a really nice collection. A good variety of everything. Too bad some seller is probably going to buy them and resell each one for like $15.

I also found this other lot that has 19 bids on it and is up to $89

but it has so many ponies and I don't recognize most of them, some of them are fakies too, and there are a lot of babies and on the right I do see a summer wing pony, they have little fairy wings, so thats neat.

sometimes you'll see listings that are fake MLPs interspersed with real ones but its also funny the names they give some sets like

this one comes with one of the 3 set of family ponies bbut also a LION. idk what this has to do with the ponies but it is very charming.

also, almost none of the big lots of 2010s toys have any bids on them at all, EXCEPT for this one:

After having worked on a Baby Crumpet I decided I wanted one.

This one came up on eBay for less than average because of the very obvious, and very severe rustbutt. When you can see the rust or mildew through the vinyl, you know it’s bad.

She actually wasn’t as bad inside as expected.
