          leave it to the new year to make nezumi susceptible to rash decisions and copious amounts of alcohol. better yet, leave it to the drunk, horny strangers that manifest in public places on new year’s eve to infect him with their virus, bringing good tidings and STDs and all that other holly jolly drivel...or is that christmas ? 

          either way, when the clock strikes midnight, nezumi loses not a glass slipper but his ability to make good choices, kissing the first stranger he sees. it’s quick. to the point. there may or may not have been tongue. his fingers sweep along the man’s soft jaw as he pulls away, coming to rest lightly beneath his chin.

          Leaping from behind the costume aisles donning a giant gorilla mask on his head, a booming laugh echoed from inside before the piece was tugged clean off, exposing a rather bedraggled Natsuya underneath. Fingers raking back the wayward tendrils of auburn curling out every which direction from static, a Cheshire cat worthy grin was flashed at his old team mate who ( to no one’s surprise ) seemed impervious to his *very refined* fright tactics!

          he sees a bit of himself in nanase — whether or not that’s a good thing. the kid’s no PKH, but he’s got all the temperament of someone who does what he wants, when he wants. works his ass off, yet hardly listens to a thing ryuuji says. there are a lot of swimmers with that same attitude, and ryuuji’s grown tired of them all. but nanase...nanase has that extra something that he hasn’t seen since his own competitive days. 

          so he pushes him. pokes and prods at those buttons, tries to get him to snap. not for the sake of a reaction — with god as his witness, the last thing ryuuji needs from him is any more lip — but so that eventually, he’ll live up to the potential everyone else seems to see in him but nanase, himself. 

          ❛ your recovery needs to be sharper, ❜ is the first thing he says when nanase gets out of the pool. no good job, no well done. nanase isn’t the type of person to get by on shallow praise, and ryuuji isn’t the type to dole it out. ❛ haven’t you been practicing the technique we discussed ? do it again. do it better. if passion was all it takes to win, we’d all be standing on the global stage. ❜

being face to face with haru is already enough to make his cheeks become dusted with a light shade of pink. he can feel his eyes wandering up and down his body. his ears feel like they are on fire.

“shut up.” he mumbles, looking away. the blush getting more obvious on his face. as much as he loves hearing such things from haru, it still makes him all embarrassed. “you are the one that is pretty..” he barely says this loud enough.

“That looks pretty exciting, don’t you think...?” He eyed the post with an excited, almost childish gaze.  He was feeling slightly giddy at the thought of attending a pool park - imagine all the different slides! Maybe this place would have even more to offer.  Though he did pale at the thought of how many people might have also preordered tickets.  Hopefully there’d still be some left!

“I think that it’d be worth a try,” He nodded his head, grinning.  “What have we got to lose...?”

Haru was in the pool, ready to get out when Makoto stood by the pool with his arm stretched out to give Haru a helping hand. He pulled him out and smiles before leaning in to press a kiss at the corner of Haru’s lips, right near the cheek.
