#619 Mushfiqur literally humiliates Srilanka on his own; Malinga impresses on return by series of dropped catches hurt; City continues to impress; Hazard’s hat-rick helps Chelsea thrash Cardiff; Barca come from behind to win in La Liga and more...:-)

Asia cup kick started with Bangladesh facing Srilanka in first ODI. Malinga who made comeback to ODI after 18 months gave Srilanka a great start. He dismissed Liton das in 5th ball of the match. He castled Shakib with a Yorker of very next ball. Bangladesh 1-2. Lanka had chances of reducing Bangladesh further but 3 dropped catches mean Bangladesh were allowed to escape.  Bangladesh had further problem when Tamim retired due to injury. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mithun used those chances to take Bangladesh forward, Once Malinga was negotiated, they attacked spinners. They had 131 runs stand. Mithun was dismissed by Malinga. Bangladesh had a mini collapse as they were reduced to 142-5. But Mushfiqur played around the tail to score a scintillating 144. This was his highest score in ODI. Bangaldesh were dismissed for 261. It was a stunning innings by Bangladesh keeper. Lanka scored 22 runs of first 10 balls. Once Mustafizur removed Mendis, it was a collapse waiting to happen. Lanka were dismissed for 124. MDK Perera who made 29 was highest scorer for Lanka. It was an embarrassing performance by Lanka. They literally lost by 20 runs to Mushfiqur alone !!!

In EPL, Mancity thrashed Fulham 3-0 thanks to goals by Sane, Silva and Sterling.  Arsenal beat Newcastle 2-1. Chelsea thrashed Cardiff city 4-1 to continue their impressive start. Hazard scored a brilliant hatrick. They lead the EPL leaderboard with 15 points tied with Liverpool and 2 points ahead of Man City. In La Liga, Barca came from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1.  Suarez and Dembele scored for Barca. Real Madrid were held to 1-1 draw by Athletico Bilbao. Athletico Madrid were also held for a 1-1 draw by Eibar. Barca lead the table with 12 points, 2 points ahead of Real Madrid.  

India were thrashed by Serbia in davis cup. They lost both the opening singles. In doubles, Bopanna and Myneni lost 6-7(5), 2-6, 6-7(4) to relatively inexperienced pair of Nikola and Danielo.
