         As a child, Sansa had always imagined how Dragonstone looked. Stories of the Targaryan kingdom had fascinated her since she was old enough to remember, not for the dragons but for their elegance, the majesty of the silver haired rulers, so unearthly in their beauty and legacy.

         Now as their ship approached the shallow waters off the coast of Dragonstone, Sansa could see just how magnificent it really was. Magnificent - but terrifying. The entire meeting with the dragon queen was most likely a trap, made at least feasible by the knowledge that Tyrion would be there. Which in turn was exactly why Sansa was there. Jon had wanted to leave her in Winterfell, a Stark to keep the North and, had Bran not joyously returned mere days later, she would have been forced to. Instead she stood on the deck eyeing the shoreline as Jon oversaw the preparation of the longboat. After a moment, she placed herself at his side. 

         “ I’m going ashore with you, you know that, don’t you? ”

the meetings had gone less than ideal and the entire flight back to winterfell had been less than ideal. conversations were held about what could have gone better but it didn't seem like the rest of the people were too worried about what the first order could do to them. ned had heard it, he had seen it, and he had been threatened by it. and thus, he had gone to the rebels after the meeting the captain phasma. once ned had secretly declared their side, there was little else to worry about than making sure their planet wasn't next on the list of destroyed planets.

back in the snowy summer, ned was more than pleased to find himself among his people and family again. after the normal greetings, ned went out to find jon. it didn't take long before he found him, ned pausing for a moment before he cleared his throat. "there's something i want to talk to you about, jon."

     Double small font (you know, this stuff) because it’s hard as hell to read. Also        super    spaced      out      words     in     replies. Again - hard for me to read. I can’t follow the cadence of speech correctly, and it all jumbles up in my head. Considering these two things are often combined, I am. squinty-eyed. (because I can’t see.)

     I’m also over gif icons and promos and header images, and also popups in blogs, but those things are due to pure envy on my part. One day I’m going to master them and that is literally all you’ll EVER see on my blogs. 

     But for now. Squinty-eyed.

     OH ALSO. I severely dislike keyboard smashing. Asldskfjasdf, that sort of thing. It’s. really difficult for me to process in my head (I’m not good with words here) and I don’t entirely manage to parse the emotion or sentiment that is being transmitted. I understand in a logical way what the person on the other end is probably trying to say, but I just can’t. Comprehend it, in a real way? It doesn’t connect right in me. I really have no idea how to word it, but keyboard smashing just. It doesn’t work for me. So I end up either ignoring it when it’s sent or just. idk. say “yeah” and try to move on.

The reunion was supposed to be a JOYFUL one. How not, when Alys would be reunited with a friend she thought dead, little Rickon would be reunited with an older brother he thought dead, King Stannis would be reunited with his onion knight whom he thought dead. And all of them would be met with something they haven’t felt in a long time — SAFETY. Well, as much safety as there was to be found nowadays. But past the initial greetings and happy words, a tense silence eventually settled around the group, hanging over the great hall of Winterfell like a dark, HEAVY CLOUD. No one seemed very keen on being the first one to break the silence, and it was as quiet as a crypt save Shaggydog’s occasional growls.

At one point, she even looked at Sigorn for help, but with all the attention he was paying to the rest of the group, he may have been a tapestry. With a childish eye roll, Alys realised that the words fell to her, YET AGAIN, and simply blurted out the first thing that came to her head. “I had received a decidedly warmer welcome the last time I came here. Well, perhaps not warmer, but certainly MORE GRAND.” The castle itself had been more grand, too. But that one did not need reminding, least of all to Jon and little Rickon. “And you, my friend,” She sent a small but AWKWARD smile at Jon Snow, “— look remarkable for a dead man.” She ignored the sound of surprise that came from Ser Davos on her left, and the way Osha the wildling’s eyes widened in what could only be described as FEAR.

What do you think Dany would feel if she were to find out that Jon was actually the heir to the Iron Throne.

Hmm, this is something I haven’t really thought about, but a very interesting question. I think it would definitely be a shock to Dany, but I can’t see her perceiving Jon as a threat and here is my reason why:

Daenerys’ entire existence so far in this narrative has been her planning to make her way to Westeros and restoring the Targaryen monarchy. After the death of Viserys, as far as she knows Dany is the only living Targaryen and therefore the rightful heir of the Iron Throne. She has placed indescribable pressure on her herself to be what her brothers couldn’t – more specifically Rhaegar. Dany listens to stories of her brother and I feel there is a apart of her that  identifies with him. Her visions of Rhaegar in the House of the Undying to me solidifies this emotional and spiritual connection Dany has to him and sees the burden that her namesake carries.

She connects with Jon because he has experience these same pressures. It’s clear to Dany that Jon becoming King of the North wasn’t out of his own desire, but rather he took the crown to be the protector of his people. He has made it pretty clear to her that his first priority is to ensure the security of the North and eliminate any threat that would comprise that.

Of course the revelation that her brother Rheagar is Jon’s father and not Ned Stark ROCKS Dany to her core, but not for the reason some may think. Dany until this point believes she’s the only Targaryen left and the dynasty would die with her. But here is Jon another survivor and the son of the brother she never knew. She now has a piece of Rheagar with her who could reproduce heirs and keep the Targaryen bloodline alive. I also think her desire of wanting to protect Jon (even if she knows he is painfully stubborn and reckless), would be extremely important since she couldn’t save Rheagar and in a way blames herself for this death.

I wouldn’t say Dany is in love with Jon at this point, but she feels deeply for him and I find it difficult to see her looking at Jon as competition for the Iron Throne or she is disturbed by falling for her close relative. I think for Dany her immediate concern would be consoling Jon. I am sure at this point he has opened up about his family and it is pretty clear to Dany how much of Jon’s identity is wrapped around being the bastard son of Ned Stark. Now everything he once believe to be true was a complete lie and he is going through a identity crisis. This would of course put a serious strain on their relationship and Jon, but not because of their justification as to who is the ‘rightful heir’ of the Iron Throne. Dany has pledge herself to protect the North from the Night King and she has placed her conquest of Westeros on hold for that. Once their primary threat has been taken care of, she will want to talk to Jon, but I can’t see him being even remotely interested. Their relationship will be tested from this revelation, but I see it as a means to bring them even closer together rather than tearing them apart.

This long ass post is all to say this: If anyone was expecting a war between Jon and Dany over the Iron Throne, that’s not happening.
