Currently missing the other people in my life. Have an inate yearning for a home I know isn’t real. I miss the town square and seeing all of my hard work pay off. I miss building homes with Beau and Floris and Roe. Roe was so strong but he is a desert bird in his heart, I know that. I just wish we could hsve visited more-Its had to have been a decade since I have seen him and I hope he is okay. Shady business happening in that city I hope none of it got to his head but I know he is a good man. God I miss Floris and Kit, he was such a weird boy but he sure did have a big heart. He and Mitchey used to play a lot before Mitchey went away and now they do not really like each other and I wonder what happened. I dont know what Im ranting a bout I am guessing I just miss a home that I know is not there. I guess this is something of a love letter to Maycheste and our dedication..I feel a little bit like I am split in half between my two worlds, I did watch that nuke deploy and I did live and die in that world but my soul also lays in Sunkiste. It is confusing and scary. I miss both of them but most of all I miss my Simon and I miss my Benny

Chapter One - Castiel and Yuro

“Yuro and I had just fallen asleep,” I wrote in my journal, “when our father called our names to come downstairs.”

“Yuro, Cass, can you guys come on down.” Our father, Brax, asked rhetorically. He almost always acted like this when they were about to announce the people in the Game. I was all but thrilled.

“Come on Cass,” Yuro said, pleading. “ He is only talking about the Game, it isn’t that big of a deal.”

Yuro dragged me out of my bed, this was easy since we share a bedroom, to go downstairs as I was the only person in our family to not be intrigued by the Game, other than our mom that died after Yuro and I were born. Our father talks about how much she disliked the Game.

“I don’t really like the Game you know, Kuro?” I asked in a brusque tone. Of course he knew! We have lived together all our existence. “I mean what if we were chosen for the neighborhood? We could die!”

“Cass! Being in the Game is the greatest honor in all of Tronan, and you know it!” Yuro exclaimed angrily.

“Fine!” I stated. “We can go see if we are about to die. Having a son and daughter is practically illegal in Tronan! We have the highest chance of being chosen!”  I exited dramatically from our black and periwinkle bedroom to our maroon and gold living room. Kuro following behind.

When we got downstairs our father was waiting with the vidWATCH paused at the announcement for the Game contestants.

“Okay, for the moment of truth.” Brax mumbled. “I hope they aren’t chosen.”

“This year’s contestants are, hmm where did my list go? Oh here it is! The contestants are, Ash Arthur, Male, Mitchey Benett, Male, Karli Charli, Female, Phil Hamilton, Male, Alena Hill, Female, Castiel Nathanael, Female, Yuro Nathanael, Male, Alison Schuyler, Female” Brax turned the vidWATCH off immediately. “Both of my kids.” He said in a melancholy tone. “I can’t believe this.”
