The Revenge of Team Tighties

After the unforgettable game where Team Tighties found themselves in a shredded mess of tighty-whities, the group agreed to a hilarious, albeit slightly humiliating, bet. The losing team had to don something even more ridiculous for the next match. Unfortunately for them, Team Tighties lost again. And so, with laughter and groans, Team Tighties became Team Thong for the upcoming game.

The sun was just as relentless on the day of the next match, but the mood was light as both teams gathered on the court. There were nervous chuckles and sideways glances from Team Thong as they stripped down to their, now very revealing, game attire.

Team Thong consisted of:

Ryan, still the de facto leader, sported a black leather thong that hugged his waist tightly and barely covered anything else. His toned body made the sight both comical and surprisingly fitting, though he was clearly uncomfortable, tugging at the waistband every few minutes.

Mark, the muscle-bound gym enthusiast, opted for a bright red thong. It was small, really small, barely containing his muscular behind. The thong seemed to vanish between his well-defined glutes, and every move he made flexed and emphasized his physique in ways that had the rest of the team trying hard not to laugh.

Jake, the strategist, went with a neon green thong that was as eye-catching as it was tiny. It didn’t leave much to the imagination, and his somewhat lanky frame only made the thong seem even more out of place. He had a nervous grin on his face, clearly regretting the bet but too proud to back out.

Brad, the jokester, of course, had to go with something outrageous. He was wearing a leopard-print thong. It was a riot, and Brad played it up, strutting around the court like a runway model, much to the amusement of everyone watching.

Steve, ever the planner, went for a classic white thong. It was simple, but on his slightly stocky frame, it highlighted every curve and crease, making him blush every time someone looked his way. He kept trying to adjust it, but the more he adjusted, the worse it seemed to fit.

Frank, the quiet, intense player, wore a dark blue thong. It was surprisingly tasteful, as far as thongs go, but his larger, muscular build made it look almost comically small. He moved with his usual determination, though the thong definitely added a new and awkward dynamic to his movements.

On the other side of the net, Boxer Brigade was ready to go, still in their boxers, but with a whole new set of funny designs:

Greg had switched to boxers covered in tiny rubber duckies. The bright yellow ducks seemed to float across the blue fabric, and every time he jumped, they appeared to quack in unison.

Tony was wearing boxers with a superhero theme again, but this time it was a mix of comic book sound effects—“BAM!” “POW!” “ZAP!”—scattered all over. The colors were loud, and they matched his energetic personality perfectly.

Mitch had on a pair of boxers that looked like they were made from an old pair of jeans, complete with fake pockets and a printed-on belt. They were a perfect fit for his wild and unpredictable style.

Dave, the quiet one, had chosen boxers with a nighttime sky theme—dark blue with little stars and moons. They were calm and peaceful, a stark contrast to the chaos that usually surrounded him.

Sam was sporting boxers covered in cartoon tacos, with little faces and sombreros. It was unclear if he loved tacos or just wanted to mess with everyone’s focus, but either way, it was a hit.

Oliver had boxers with little palm trees and coconuts, giving off a beach vibe. Given his tall, lanky frame, the tropical theme looked almost comical as he towered over the net, his boxers swaying like a lazy day at the beach.

The game was about to begin when Jake, still blushing in his neon green thong, pulled out a volleyball from his bag. It was the same one Tony had used in the previous game, the one with the mystical markings. But Jake, always one for strategy, thought it might bring them some luck—or at the very least, even the playing field.

“Why not give it another go?” Jake suggested with a mischievous grin, tossing the ball to Greg, who caught it without hesitation.

As the game commenced, the cursed volleyball once again began to work its strange magic, but this time, it wasn’t Team Thong that felt the effects. Instead, something peculiar started happening on the other side of the net.

It began innocently enough. Mitch, after a particularly good spike, gave Tony a playful pat on the back, and then, without really thinking, a pat on the rear. Tony laughed it off and returned the favor, a little harder and with a wink.

Greg, noticing the camaraderie, joined in, giving Oliver a friendly smack on the behind after he made a great save. Oliver, a bit surprised, chuckled and did the same to Sam, who laughed and returned the gesture. Before long, the Boxer Brigade was filled with a series of light-hearted pats and smacks, all of which seemed perfectly normal—until they weren’t.

The pats became more frequent and more lingering. A hand would rest a little too long, a touch would be a little too tender, and the playful atmosphere began to shift into something else entirely. The Boxers Brigade members found themselves exchanging knowing looks, and the air around them thickened with an unexpected tension.

Mitch, catching a spike from Ryan, landed with a graceful step, only to find Greg standing close, much closer than usual. They locked eyes, and Greg reached out, brushing his hand across Mitch’s arm in a way that felt…different. Mitch didn’t pull away. Instead, he smiled, a warm, inviting smile that said more than words could.

On the next play, Tony dove for the ball and ended up tumbling into Oliver, who caught him mid-fall. Their bodies pressed together, and instead of pulling apart, they stayed there, looking at each other with a newfound intensity. Tony, always the bold one, leaned in and planted a soft kiss on Oliver’s cheek, which quickly turned into something more.

The other members of Boxer Brigade were experiencing similar feelings. Sam and Dave, usually the quietest, found themselves standing side by side, their hands brushing together as they waited for the serve. When Sam looked over at Dave, there was a softness in his eyes that hadn’t been there before. They leaned in closer, until they were sharing a kiss, right there on the court.

The spectators, as well as Team Thong, watched in disbelief as the playful gestures turned into full-blown displays of affection. The game was all but forgotten as Boxer Brigade members embraced, kissed, and caressed each other in a way that went beyond mere friendship. The cursed volleyball had done its work well, weaving a spell that had transformed competitive energy into romantic passion.

Jake, realizing what was happening, looked down at the volleyball in his hands. The markings were glowing faintly, just like before. “Uh…guys?” he called out, but his voice was drowned out by the sounds of laughter, kisses, and murmured sweet nothings.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity of awkwardness and suppressed giggles from Team Thong, Tony, still wrapped in Oliver’s arms, noticed Jake’s horrified expression and the glowing volleyball. With a sudden jolt of realization, he broke away from Oliver, shaking his head as if to clear it.

“Jake!” Tony shouted, pointing at the volleyball. “That thing’s cursed!”

The spell was broken. Boxer Brigade members blinked, looking around at each other as if waking from a dream. They quickly disentangled themselves, their faces turning a deep shade of red as they realized what had happened.

“Uh…yeah,” Greg said, scratching his head awkwardly. “So…that happened.”

The laughter that followed was uproarious, filled with a mixture of relief and embarrassment. The Boxers Brigade quickly returned to their side of the net, their previous playful rivalry restored, though the memory of their unexpected affection lingered in the air.

“Well,” Ryan said, grinning as he looked down at his leather thong, “at least we’re not the only ones who got caught in something weird today.”

The game ended with more laughter than actual points, and by the time the sun began to set, both teams were too exhausted from their laughter and antics to care about the score.

As they packed up, Greg turned to Jake, eyeing the volleyball warily. “Next time, no cursed volleyballs, okay?”

Jake nodded, chucking the ball into a nearby trash can. “Agreed. I think we’ve all had enough of strange magic for one lifetime.”

And so, as the sun dipped below the horizon, the two teams walked off the court together, united not just by their ridiculous outfits, but by the bizarre experiences they’d shared. The story of Team Thong and Boxer Brigade would become a legend among their friends, a tale of curses, thongs, and unexpected kisses that they’d laugh about for years to come.

Moments after he first met Dale Hunter, the longtime Knights head coach gave Easton Cowan a nickname that stuck.

“Cowboy.”

Born in Strathroy, Ont., Cowan comes from a farm in nearby Mount Brydges where his family farms cash crops like wheat, corn and soybeans. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and Cowan’s time in high school classes became limited, he began working on the farm from 6:30 in the morning till 9 at night during the busy farming seasons of spring and fall, driving a tractor beside the massive combine his father Chris uses to transfer crops.

“It’s the time you have to put in to succeed in the cash crop business of farming,” Chris told The Athletic.

That time on the farm helped instill a work ethic, as well as good ol’ farm strength, that Cowan has made his hallmark as a Knight. Ahead of the draft, Clark was clear: The Leafs wanted players who had intelligence, competitiveness and who could “influence winning hockey.”

Clark and the team’s scouting staff appear to have found a player who ticks those boxes.

“It’s a great picture of what (Cowan) could be in the NHL,” Knights associate general manager Rob Simpson said. “His motor and his engine on the ice, he is relentless and never stops working. And he’s the type of player that if you want him to play higher in your lineup with skilled guys and bring competitiveness and forechecking and skill, he can do that. If you want him to play a defensive game and play the penalty kill, he can do those things.”

That versatility was evident as the Knights went to the OHL final this season. During that playoff run that Simpson called “impactful,” Cowan’s game shone. The Leafs valued how he played in the playoffs, lapping up the spotlight and the pressure while leading all OHL rookies in playoff scoring with 21 points in 20 games.

It was his hockey sense, which shined with quick passing in the offensive zone, that popped in the playoffs. That hints at his potential for producing offence as he continues to develop.

Even though his smallish frame may remind some of past Leafs picks, it’s the fact that he’s become known as a “puck hound” according to Simpson that might well separate him from those picks. His competitiveness is well-established.

Cowan grew up a Leafs fan and said he models his game after Nazem Kadri.

Simpsons remembers games this year where Cowan would pinball from one defenceman to the other on the forecheck. He wouldn’t stop there. He chased after the puck wherever it went.

“He’s just relentless all over the ice at trying to get the puck and when he has it, he doesn’t want to give it up,” Simpson said.

He also appears pretty comfortable in his own skin.

“How’s it goin’?” Cowan, wearing black suede shoes with no socks, said as he took a seat in front of more cameras and reporters he’s likely ever faced.

Cowan beamed when he described FaceTiming with Mitch Marner.

“Happy you’re part of the Buds,” was what Cowan remembered hearing from Marner.

“That was pretty cool,” Cowan said. “(Marner) competes all over the ice. He’s a great player and a great guy. You look up to that.”

Cowan listed Knights equipment managers and trainers as people who helped propel him being an unlikely first-round pick.

Before leaving a table at the end of his media availability, he asked politely if he could take a box of Biosteel sitting in front of him.

“He’s so kind to everyone around him,” Cowan’s father said. “Not a lot of people know that about him.”

The long-term projection:

Cowan can play both centre and the wing but the Leafs likely see him more as a wing in the pros. While it’s remarkably early to start forecasting where Cowan might fit in an NHL lineup, it is fair to say the Leafs valued his sharp progression this past season and believe that he may just be scratching the surface of what type of player he can be.

His standout playoff performance especially, fueled by that tenacity, may have really struck a chord.

“The biggest thing that’s going to translate the best is his motor, his engine and competitiveness,” Simpson said. “You look at the NHL playoffs, you have to have players like that to be able to win these days.”

Cowan, who just turned 18 in May, will likely begin his time in the Leafs organization at the team’s development camp, set to begin July 3. It feels likely that Cowan will return to the Knights, not just next season, but for multiple seasons. He’s already intent on adding the kind of strength to his frame that will be necessary for him to one day join the Leafs in the NHL. That and improving his shot.

The Leafs appear comfortable making Cowan a long-term play for the organization.

“We’re trying to take the best player available, not today or tomorrow, we’re looking at the long run,” Clark said ahead of the draft.

But what Cowan could become in the long run is intriguing enough for the Leafs to have made perhaps the most surprising pick on day one of the draft.

Mitch has a neural port since his time in the military, for the panzer's vehicle link but also probably to connect others devices (medical check after taking the cocktails, general monitoring of their soldiers, etc etc right)

I don't headcanon him as having a personal link tho (he doesn't have any plugs models on his vanilla model but that doesn't mean much considering Panam doesn't have anything either but she can plug the panzers link as well, thats why I modded a neural link into Mitch's neck in his spinal cord to fit one of the canonically accurate neural link installation spot! and it makes sense with his high collar jumpsuit, to protect it from the sand and all yknow ANYWAY)

Valentin however DO have both a neural port (V's canon port, which is called a Frankenstein btw! cause its right under their ear :3 love that fact ehe) and a personal link that came with the gorilla arms he got installed during his wraith time (probably the main reason he was a good candidat for this particular pair of arms during the cyberware transaction with the scavengers actually)

I like to imagine that at one point into their relationship, Valentin links to Mitch port during various occasions (They already shared minds while being connected to the Panzer in the past, but directly connecting yourself to someones port is even MORE personal and intimate hfhf)

One day, while Mitch was suffering from his chronique phantom pain episode (after getting back to Arizona maybe, weather/temperature change tend to trigger scars tissues and broken bones into feeling weird) Valentin would ask him if he can link up to him, sharing the sensation while massaging at his shoulder and back to try and ease the pain a bit 😫

They obviously would link up during the more steamy love making sessions too, Valentin wanting to show him just "how good you feels"-- shivers running down Mitch's spine synchronized with his own thrust 😳

Forgotten Breach: A FNaF Security Breach AU

“In a universe where many restaurants are at the top of their game, bringing in many people, there’s one that seems to be forgotten; not only by the people, but also by the owners. This specific location is called the Cartoon Pizzaplex; a location where everyone can meet their favorite cartoon characters. Whether it’s with the Artrock Band and their shows, spending time in the Animaniac Daycare where Solar, Lunar, and Star run it together, or hitting up DJ Botas and DJ Hoho’s music corner to see animated music videos and actual family friendly bands performing songs, it’s a place full of enjoyment. However, it seems like nowadays, whenever someone visits, it’s always known as… A Forgotten Breach.”

It’s my Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach AU! Like most AUs that change up the cast, there’s the band, the daycare, some other characters, but there’s also new changes that come with it, like how it came to be or how certain things fell into place. This happens to mesh both of these things together. (And because of a picture limitation, this will be part 1 of 3, showing all of the characters of the AU.) Starting with the creator himself…

Robot Afton Jones

The robot behind the Cartoon Pizzaplex. During his time in middle school, in the 80s, with his friends Socks, Cubey, and Mitch, he was taught about how some people make their names known by doing many things. Most often, the results would be people being remembered because of the bad things that they did. Robot didn’t want that to happen to him, so after he completed school, he set to work at making his name heard in a good way. All throughout the 90s and into the early 2000s, Robot spent his time building the Cartoon Pizzaplex and by 2003, he was given the name of Robot Afton Jones, which finally shone a good light on the Afton name after many years. (In other words, Robot was now “The Cooler Afton” thanks to his work.)

He wouldn’t be around to see his creation forever, as when 2020 came, he caught a very dangerous virus and…didn’t survive, but before his final flicker of light dimmed for the last time, he gave his business to his three friends, knowing that they can keep the spirit alive. Now, he remains as a kind spirit, watching over his creation with kind eyes. It’s only in recent years that he’s discovering that some things do lose the spark of light without their creators, and now, he’s trying to bring new life into the place with the help of someone he’s never met. Only, he knows to be careful about how he goes through with it. One wrong move and his name will be tarnished forever!

The Artrock Band! (Both current and old members)

Artrock Ben Plotz

The leader of the band. When the Cartoon Pizzaplex first opened in the summer of 2003, he just started out as a backing voice for storytime, fitting his role as a narrator; just like the real Ben Plotz. However, as the company was first setting up the band in the late 2000s, they saw Artrock Ben Plotz as the best fit for the band, and by the Christmas of 2010, when the band premiered, everyone began to adore him. Yes, while he still reads scripts from time to time, nowadays, he’s much more in the action of the stories.

Artrock Chica

The guitarist of the band. Her addition came when the company got word that they needed representation from certain programming that relate to kids who don’t have cable television and bad internet connection. That and the company had an old Chica model from the Fazbear brand, so they found a way to change the type of model, change the color scheme, and make her a great guitar player. The only artifacts of her just so happen to match up with her current inspiration; a chicken named Chica.

Artrock Chica does have a small hunger towards pizza like the Chica she was before, but she usually is the one most associated with birthdays, always ready to sing a special birthday song for anyone in the Cartoon Pizzaplex celebrating a birthday. Not only that, she jams out excellently on her guitar, despite her having wings and not hands. Nobody questions how it’s possible, though.

Artrock Bungo (Bungo Bunny)

The keytar player of the band. At the time of Bungo’s introduction to the band, the show he was on was still airing, which allowed him to gain more of the personality that the real wheeler has; including with his appreciation of signs. While he does appreciate his bandmates, Artrock Bungo gained a bit of a reputation where he calls himself the best in the band, which nobody thought was off, given that it could easily fit with the real deal, but it was only after the show stopped airing did everyone else notice that the reputation isn’t actually a good thing.

Nonetheless, he’s still popular in the Artrock Band despite the flaws. In addition, not only does he have a raceway apply titled “Bungo Bunny’s Raceway”, but he also has an art studio, allowing people to show off their creativity to the whole Pizzaplex! Though, he doesn’t look exactly like his toon self and that’s because Disney was willing to sue the Pizzaplex if they didn’t make any changes to his design. That honestly explains the green on his ears and tail, along with why he was given an outfit. Oh! He also keeps Artrock Ben Plotz up at night when he makes signs for the Pizzaplex.

Artrock Moona (Fairy-Moon Rockstar)

The bassist of the band…well, the second bassist. You see, Artrock Moona was originally just like her cartoon counterpart; a moon fairy. No legs, no long ponytail, no goggles, just a small floating moon fairy. This was until the original bassist began to scare the kids for a really petty reason (and by petty, I really mean that it’s a reason that doesn’t really make much sense) in 2018 and 2019. The company didn’t want people to be scared when visiting, so she was upgraded from a moon fairy to an actual band member, gaining a whole new design in the process. Even though she was added to the band in the easiest way possible, Artrock Ben Plotz seriously believes that she must’ve hurt the original bassist beyond repair.

Despite what Artrock Ben Plotz thinks, Artrock Moona makes the best of her role, even going so far as changing her appearance to mimic that of a true rockstar. Though…it seems that her newfound stardom is causing her to lash out in her dressing room after the shows are done, along with actively trying to use her old magic wand to help…only for that to fail each and every time.

Artrock Tori / Artrock Witch

The original bassist of the band. She was a member of the band from the start in 2010 alongside Artrock Chica, Artrock Bungo, and Artrock Ben Plotz; the latter one becoming her best friend and bandmate. Artrock Tori was mostly known by the advertisements as Artrock Witch, given that she had no official name other than that, but the fans and bandmates gave her the name of Tori, which ultimately stuck for her. However, she wouldn’t be a part of the band forever.

Around late 2017 or early 2018, a few of the preschoolers visiting the Cartoon Pizzaplex had escaped from the daycare within the building to watch the Artrock Band play on stage, along with telling a story. Now, these preschoolers didn’t want to take a nap because…well…they were prematurely exposed to horror movies by one of the older kids, but when the preschoolers arrived to the show and saw the bassist of the band “placing a sleeping spell” on DJ Botas (who was a special guest for the show) and bringing out Sleeping Boots…they got scared. They didn’t know that it was all just an act that the characters were putting on and that resulted with them fearing Artrock Tori.

Throughout 2018 and 2019, those few preschoolers told other kids about what they saw and, like a row of dominoes falling over, more and more people started to fear Artrock Tori, just by that one action alone. The company saw all of that fear and, not wanting to scare the preschoolers anymore, decided to retire Artrock Tori. Though, Artrock Ben Plotz, in between all of the shows together, had actually fallen in love with Artrock Tori and tried to convince the company to keep her around when the shows weren’t going on…but it didn’t work. She was retired.

But she wasn’t destroyed. Instead, she just sits behind one of the bowling lanes in Magical Bowling, waiting for a curious person or toon to find a way behind the area, discover her, and free her from her fate…at least to the point where she can tell Artrock Ben Plotz that she loves him.

Artrock Plex

The alternate Artrock whenever Bungo was out of commission for a while. You see, having one of the main members of the band being from a Disney show, especially when it was still airing new episodes during the first few years of the band, it was tough to ensure safety from a lawsuit, so during the years where personality updates and Disney was hot on the tail of the Pizzaplex, Artrock Plex was the one to call. (And unlike Artrock Bungo, this Artrock had no issues with a lawsuit.)

Even after all of the Disney stuff had fizzled out, Artrock Plex still substituted for Artrock Bungo whenever the latter couldn’t make it to the shows…and everyone didn’t mind that particular switch-up because the actual Plex IS already a keytar player, making the transition so much easier! At first, Artrock Plex was his normal self, but after the show HE was on ended in 2015 (pre-Yo Gabba Gabbaland), he was given a pirate aesthetic, which everyone liked. The only regret that Artrock Plex has is that he wishes that he had more blue in his design.

Artrock Zooble

Not all of the Artrock Band members are full-time performers, but rather…guest performers! These guest performers come on during special events, such as the show that scared a group of preschoolers in the Artrock Tori section, or as promotion for new shows! This is one of those who fit the latter.

In the time where the Cartoon Pizzaplex was starting to be forgotten, Socks, Cubey, and Mitch, the owners of the company after Robot died, decided to try and use someone from a new show…an internet show, and that led to Artrock Zooble; the first ever guest Artrock from the internet. This particular Artrock is only brought out on certain occasions, but does have the unique feature to come apart and be put back together. In fact, there’s a case of parts that the people can use to give Artrock Zooble before the shows start, allowing their appearance to be different each and every time.

However, only the three owners truly know why they allowed Artrock Zooble join the band; it was a desperate attempt to bring the company back in the midst of talking to AI versions of the characters, all of the social distancing that has been going on, and…somehow getting accused at being a rip-off of the Fazbear franchise, despite the looming detail that the Cartoon Pizzaplex has a clean record. The three are just trying to keep Robot’s legacy alive after Artrock Tori was removed from the band and Robot died.

Artrock Tinkerbell

One of the most unexpected members of the band. During the early days, she was a guest performer, but by 2015, she was promoted to being the alternate for Artrock Tori/Artrock Witch, then later Artrock Moona. Artrock Tinkerbell’s design was definitely changed from the original version, mainly because of concerned parents…and Disney. But luckily, the company made sure to differentiate this Tinkerbell from the others. (And it’s more than just the outfit.)

The biggest change comes with the hair of Artrock Tinkerbell. While most of it stays yellow like the version many people know, there’s the addition of a green dyed part in it, which in certain shows can give off even darker green portions.

Luckily for everyone, there’s always proof of those extra details somewhere. Including right here!

Molly in Siberia: Kay Weathers, Local Indie Band, Celebrates Newest Single with Release Party at Siberia Lounge 

Four band line-up to include local favorites Santa Barbara Streisand, Fantasy Non Fiction, and Letrainiump.

Local indie-rock band Kay Weathers will be dropping their newest single, Molly’s Boyfriend, on all streaming platforms this Saturday the 14th. A music video for the song is expected to be released next week. NOLA.Today is proud to offer a 30-second preview of the song, courtesy of the band.

The group is also throwing a same-day release party at St. Claude Avenue’s own Siberia Lounge. Music starts at 10 pm and will feature, besides Kay Weathers, Santa Barbara Streisand, Fantasy Non Fiction, and Letrainiump. Fans are encouraged to come and join the celebration.

Previously, Kay Weathers released their single The River as a stop-motion piece, featuring claymation by artist Ashley Hernandez. Molly’s Boyfriend will be the band’s first live-action music video as well as the acting debuts of several of its members. “We all play characters in the video,” says Legendre, the band’s bassist. “Theresa and I play best friends, who look like we’re in love… and they have this whole slumber-party planned, but then the boyfriend” — the eponymous Molly’s Boyfriend, played by drummer Gerard — “pops up, and he’s like, Let’s go to a rave!, and it’s Monday night…” 

I ask if the bandmates developed any connection to the characters they played and the answer is an emphatic, No. 

“It was something,” adds Gerard, in the mellowest voice you can imagine. “I play this rave party-animal, and I’m not that at all, so that was funny.” 

Kay Weathers produced the video themselves. They turned to local talent for directing, editing, and choreography and filmed at familiar locations. Scenes featuring the rave, for example, were filmed at Sea Cave Arcade on St. Claude Avenue. Sea Cave mainstays might even recognize a few of the partygoers who appear in the video. 

“I had these sunglasses I wore through the whole video, because I had a migraine on the day of filming,” Legendre (right) recollects. “But they just became part of the character’s look, they fit the vibe. I had fun with that.”

Regarding their sound, the band follows a collaborative model when writing songs: each of the four bandmates contributes something unique. “We each write our own parts,” says Gerard. He outlines the process of how their songs come together: O'Brien begins with the lyrics and main progression, after which everyone comes together and helps flesh out the piece until they have their finished product. 

“It takes workshopping, sometimes it takes a few run-throughs,” Romero admits, but they maintain that this process allows each of them to add a bit of themselves to the music they play. It further reflects the organic nature of their sound, which, according to the band, is consequential of the ‘natural’ way they first came together back in 2022. 

The four bandmates were already entrenched in the local music scene and found each other through mutual connections, a testament to the sense of community which proliferates New Orleans’ creative sphere. Mutual connection is also how they found several key players in the production of the music video, such as director Mitch Whales, editor Nick Pope, and videographer Haley Turk. 

Molly’s Boyfriend will be featured on Kay Weathers’ forthcoming, five-track EP, which will drop in May. Until then, fans can follow the band @kayweathersmusic on Insta.

“And you’re not a bad girl,” Harry says, turning to face Louis. She leans her hip against the counter, determined to both gain the upper hand and not think about why she wants to. “Right?”

Harry goes to the ladies’ room at the Met Gala expecting a cigarette and a break from the boredom. Instead, she gets Louis.

Harry practically skips up the stairs to his office with Sophia, rejuvenated by the possibility of seeing his Vogue. It’s one thing to know which shot they picked for the cover, but it’s going to be a whole other thing to actually hold the glossy pages in his hands. The shoot had been long and exhausting, and Harry had hated being away from Louis but at the same time he’d loved every minute of it. Some of the choices are going to invite controversy, and Guy from the press office might have a coronary, but it was important to be himself. Trending topics be damned, Harry Styles – soon to be Harry of Monaco – doesn’t care what people think he should or shouldn’t wear, and marrying into a royal family isn’t going to change that.

When they walk into Harry’s office, Mitch is sitting at the small table in the corner looking at one with his coffee cup. His complete and utter lack of enthusiasm does nothing to put a damper on Harry and Sophia’s; Harry drums his fingers against the desk as she carefully opens the small package. A soft gasp escapes her lips when the cover is revealed; the stark black of the headlines that matches the fitted blazer Harry is wearing contrasts nicely with the soft blues and greens in the background. The editors had agreed when Harry requested a bit of whimsy for the cover, knowing how many official portraits would be in his near future, and they’d used a shot where he’s blowing up a small blue balloon. The pose shows off his engagement ring nicely. It’s not immediately evident that what Harry is wearing underneath the jacket is actually a gown, and he holds his breath as Sophia flips through the pages, waiting for her to see the full outfit.

“Mon dieu,” Sophia breathes, lifting the page to get a closer look when she finally gets there. “Harry, this is beautiful. I love this gown on you, so elegant. Is it Gucci?”

“Nice, man,” Mitch says, leaning over Sophia’s shoulder and holding his fist out for Harry to bump. Sophia elbows him without taking her eyes off the magazine. “Sir. That’s nice, sir.”

“Thanks, Mitchell,” Harry says, grinning as he bumps Mitch’s fist with his own. “And yeah, Gucci. It was even more gorgeous in person. You might see it sometime, I think Alessandro is going to give it to me for my archives.”

“Oh, Harry,” Louis says, holding the cover out to admire it. “This is gorgeous, darling. Fit for a prince, indeed.”

“I’m really happy they went with that one,” Harry says, pointing to the large headline on the cover that says just that. “They had a few other options, but none of them felt right.”

“It’s perfect,” Louis says, turning the pages until he reaches the editorial. “That gown is fit for a prince. My prince.”

“Harry, we should frame this,” Sophia suggests, pointing to one of the walls. “We could hang it right there, what do you think?”

“I think that’s perfect.” Harry gently takes the magazine from Louis and hands it back to Sophia. “Would you mind taking care of it? I need to go shower, actually get ready for the day. I’ll be back in like an hour.”

“Or two,” Louis says, taking Harry’s hand in his as he gives him a long once-over. “Let’s just say later.”

“You heard le patron,” Harry laughs, letting Louis drag him out of the office. “I’ll be back later!”

“Up for it, Harold? We can go over the rundown when we get back. If you’re not busy then.”

“Yeah, sounds good,” Harry says, closing his laptop and setting it on Louis’ desk. “It’s just Harry, though.”

“You look like a Harold,” Louis says, standing up and brushing some brownie crumbs off his t-shirt. Harry briefly wonders how he’s still hungry for lunch after demolishing half the plate of brownies as he stands and moves into the hallway. “It’s the cardigan, I think.”

“You guys can flirt on the way,” Niall says over his shoulder, beckoning for them to follow him as he strides down the row of cubicles. “Come on, I’m starving.”

Harry looks at Louis, but he just laughs as they follow Niall. Oh. He thought he’d been picking up a vibe while they hung out, but apparently not. Well, it’s better to know how Louis feels now, so he can nip his growing crush in the bud. Louis is a great guy, at least they can be friends as well as coworkers.

In which Harry courts Louis. Entirely by accident.

hi mitch! <3 that is... a very good question that i spent way too much time thinking about haha

i'd have to say it's from the fight club cmjf au i've been rotating for weeks which will probably never see the light of day, but still compels me to no end 😫

the detail itself is the role mjf takes as an amalgamation of both aspects of tyler durden and marla singer, in that he's both everything punk (our narrator) wants to be, as well as someone he wants to– well.

The dim light of the parking lot garage makes him look like a figure in a chiaroscuro painting. Like an airbrushed model, the sort that would advertise a certain kind of lifestyle in a high fashion magazine.

the adventure ones for emil?

True Name. What is their name's meaning, origin, etc?

He is my self insert and my middle name is Emiliene. So Emil. It means 'Rival' though which is fun. Baudelaire however means 'short sword' and is a direct reference to the fact they're a family of royal guards.

Portal. What is a crossover you've done/thought about for this character?

Flamechasers au,,,, Emil takes the place of Griseo(albeit he's still an adult), as "Preserver". The AU is obviously very sad.

Softly. Describe one of their dreams, good or bad (with proper warnings).

Emil has mostly nightmares. His most common one is being in a replica of his family home, but its pitch black and he's stumbling through the dark hearing his sisters' screams but no matter how hard he tries to find them, he can't.

Metamorphosis. Has this character evolved/changed since you first conceptualized them?

Well he started solely as a self insert and now he has his own traits and personality outside of me! So there's that :D

Treasure. What is something they like/love?

Alcohol.. Writing... Poppies.

Home. Describe their relationship with someone in their family, friend group, with a QPP, a romantic interest, etc.

His relationship with Laure is so wholesome. His lesbian best friend who went "hmm i don't think you're straight or cis" only for him to go "whaaaat? fake..." before taking an arrow for her lmao. Absolute best friends!

Role Model. Did you take inspiration from another character when creating them?

Laughter. What is their sense of humor, or lack thereof? (Bonus: What does their laugh sound like?)

Gallows humour fr.. His jokes can be a bit dark cause he pulls from his trauma or life.. His giggle is very cute, breathy.

Flashback. Describe one of their memories, good or bad (with proper warnings).

Laying in the poppy field near his house, Mitch braiding poppies into his hair while Alexis runs around the field collecting the "best" flowers for them.

Core. How is their true nature different from (or similar to) how they are portrayed to others?

Emil often loses track of himself. He's not sure who he is at times. It makes a "true nature" and a "portrayed nature" very difficult to distinguish. He's different with every person he talks to, sometimes.

Origin Story. Are they a completely original character, a fan character, or something else?

I mean he's a genshin oc but he's fully his own dude in some medias so..

Plot. How do/would they fit into the overall plot of their source?

He's honestly more of a side character for the Fontaine storyline.. His family would be somewhat important/mentioned in the storyline and you'd meet Emil elsewhere and connect him and his story to the side quest in Fontaine.

Quest. What is a personal goal, duty, etc of theirs?

His duty is to protect the people of Teyvat. Whether that be against themselves or against Gods. He's a defender.

Wanderer. Describe an aspect of their world/setting they interact with.

Some treasure hoarders in Liyue will mention a "dark haired stern faced man" in a certain side quest ^^

Thinking about the "late game" characters from Neighbours (aka Harper, Vincent, Jon and Rick) and pondering about body types... What if I also made Jon a little on the chubbier side? Not like full bear like Alec, but he clearly doesn't care about his waistline lol

I was thinking about them in my head and I was like "everyone is kinda on the "fit" side except for Alec, I can have another non-skinny character"

Like Vincent was out because he's a model so he kinda has to be somewhat fit (sad, but real). Harper was also out because I want him to be like, this guy who Mitch sees as "flawless" and someone he can't compete with, so him being in tip top shape just pisses off Mitch more lol

Rick could have any body type really, specially considering he's probably the one more "better off" financially than anyone else in this 'verse (aka he's got hella money) so he doesn't really need to worry about keeping fit or whatever (he probably doesn't even have a job).

Also the idea of Jon running around all chubby while doing his roadie work is just very cute!

Michigan had absolutely no idea what was going on between them. They first met when they were booked to model for one of his collections. Since then, every couple of months when he released a new collection, he’d do his best to make sure that they were one of the models. It was actually quite fun. Mitch watched as a tailor stepped out of the fitting room. “I’m just gonna grab a quick five with them. Make sure I’m happy with everything, yaknow,” He immediately walked forward as the door shut behind. Seconds later and he was inside. “Well hello there,” The smirk in his voice was evident. It had been a number of months since they’d last seen each other. It had been a number of months since they’d so much exchanged words. Mitch walked around and leaned in to press a light kiss to their lips. “Long time no see.”
