A soft blush appeared on Mei-Rin's face but the thing was, she had to obey. With a curtsey, she spoke, "Well... I think I should wait for the orders, miss."

Modern!AU Starter for MissMaid
“You spend all of December sulking around the house,” Aunt An had said a week or so before Ciel's school had let out for winter hols, “I'm planning a vacation.”
Planning vacations was what Angelina “Red” Durless did best
At the time, Ciel hadn't had any sort of counter argument; instead, all he could say was, “Fine. Whatever. Can we just not leave England this time?”
So here he was, shoving through the mobs of Christmas shoppers at The Lanes in Brighton. Other people were no doubt appreciating the brightly painted store-fronts, all lit-up from with in, or the neat brick pathways dotted with benches and potted pines, or the strings of silver and gold lanterns, strung up and twinkling against the blue-black sky like low hanging stars. But not Ciel.
Really, Brighton wasn't that bad at all—especially in the winter when the tourist crowds were smaller—and Ciel would have plenty to occupy himself this month between the gaming arcades, the museums, and ice-skating at the Royal Pavilion. He didn't even mind the art shows Aunt An dragged him to every night, tedious as they were. But Ciel hated shopping. Especially Christmas shopping. Which Angelina had insisted upon tonight.
