And also conventional media such as newspapers, television and radio stations have been using technology to generate maximum informations, which the growing trend of Internet usage has an impact on the learning of students or even other people become wiser consumers of media as well as responsible producers of their own media. Along those same lines, teaching media literacy helps to improved critical thinking in students.

Information Literacy in relevance to the Social Era. Information Literacy is basically a skill or a ability in obtaining and recognize information to effectively used in communication process. And today's generation we use Social Media to communicate, and when we say communication there is a bartering of information, the two is simply connected and a two way process, by the use of Social Media sites and other Medium we are communicating and still we are learning through the exhanging of ideas. Information Literacy is as the same as obtaining information in the Internet, the two discusses the word ideas and knowledge wether they are in obtaining, giving, sharing, and exchanging. In our current era which is the information age, the acquisition and circulation of information have become a staple for modern society, making media and it’s multiple forms, an indispensable resource for data gathering and circulation. Print media is usually the go-to source for credible and quality information. Broadcast media on the other hand, is the most widespread source of info while new media have just been around during the last few decades, it has since developed into something as useful as its predecessors. Compared to Broadcast media and Print media, New media can be accessed from anytime and anywhere, and let’s people communicate online. Though it may seem that some of the aforementioned firms of media might be more effective than the other, it won’t be enough on it’s own these three needs to be used accordingly when gathering data in order to produce factual and correct info.

Indigenous media or also know as 'community media' is any form of media generated and controlled in the community, for the community, about the community and by the community. To best understand the word indigenous, it's basically the other term to native or local. While common media or the common sources of information are internet, library, books, newspaper and more. The difference of indigenous and common media are that since indigenous is for locals and community it's more on face-to-face communication and oral interaction like kapihan, balitaktakan, ect. while the common source of media is less on interacting but more on the use of the eyes like reading the book, televisions, internet, ect. Indigenous media builds the community's identy and have a sense of 'own media' because they can use their native language while common media is easier to access, convenient in spreading information, and fastest way to gain information.

An example of this is the news about a Canadian singer named Celine Dion who died in a plane crash at age 51, according to a website. This became trending and a number of people believed that it was true but later on it was found out to be a fake news. With this, Information Literacy prove its relevance and importance in todays generation. The absence of information literacy results to ignorance and possibility of being deceived. It is important to be literate to be able to identify false information and reliable ones thus be informed with the right news. We need to understand that being illiterate causes a domino effect to others in which sharing information carelessly is contributing to the spread of fake news and reflects who you are as a person. It helps us to know the world well, we can read what is going on in our world and if it is possible we can participate in discussions in many matters. Broadcast Media, it allows breaking news reporting makeup for the minute changes as a story evolves. Information literacy is important for todays learners, it promotes problem solving approaches and thinking skills, asking questions and seeking answers, finding information, forming opinions, evaluating sources and making decisions fostering successful learners, effective contributors,connfident individuals and responsible citizens. In today’s digital era, information dissemination channels are increasing, along with the easy accessibility to all sorts of information we need just by accessing internet. We all know technology continues to evolve in the social era things, people and ideas are connected in social era we need to consider that not all the information we get from social media platforms are accurate that is why we need to understand the importance of the information literacy.

In this picture we can see the student doesn’t know that he plagiarize his work ,he plagiarize a work in internet but it seems it was a fake and inaccurate because he didn’t understand the important of having a knowledge about information literacy especially, we are living in the midst of social era where there are many ways to gain information's very easy we all know that social media have a lot of fake and inaccurate works.
