Mishel served in the israelian army (it’s mandatory in Israel). She said it herself in an interview and also Courtois in an interview said he’s proud of her for serving in the military and that bc of her his love for Israel has grown and he wants to visit the country. She also said working in the military made her feel fullfilled and even considered joining for an additional year.
