my ‘miriam and lucanis both being so comfortable with death until it’s the death of each other’ agenda is going strong. miriam seeing a vision of lucanis crumpled, dead, after he struck the killing blow on ghilan’nain and barely being able to look at him before the vision fades. lucanis (likely) pacing and distraught with worry the entire time miriam is stuck in the regret prison, thinking he will never see her again. miriam begging him not to leave her while he’s kneeling before her instead of confessing her feelings. lucanis wanting to fall asleep to her voice while lying across her lap, skin to skin, because her being alive and real and solid is the only comfort he can find anymore.
