Second Infinity Nikki headcanon drop.

I swear this isn’t a Special Interest or even a hyperfixation (I can sleep, for one thing…) but I’m between those right now and the lore of Miraland is being pushed by my brain as a substitute.

I was going to suggest that, while Momo denies being a “Wishborn” “Whimborn” (can’t remember what quest he reacts to that specific term, arg), we technically have no evidence he isn’t and was transported very young to Nikki’s home dimension.

And several pieces of evidence he does resonate with Whim on a surprisingly strong level.

A) He can sense Whimstars.

B) This:

Momo reacting so strongly to Nikki wearing the Threads of Reunion his cloak changes to match it.

This does not occur with any other Ability Outfit, so it’s not a stylistic game choice or just an implication of a connection to Nikki; it’s a reaction to this specific Miracle Outfit, which is actually more telling in my opinion.

But I don’t believe Momo was transported to Nikki’s home dimension anymore.

I think he was born in that dimension, but the Momo Clan is Whimborn that were transported to Nikki’s dimension a generation or two back.

What actually goes on in infinity Nikki

so the story starts with nikki and momo searching for some clothes in an attic and there they find a gorgeous red dress that takes them to miraland. there nikki is now wearing the dress and they find a lady chained to the ceiling of this abandoned castle who is called ena and is a goddess i think? and has been trapped in there for a thousand years. im not really sure if shes good or bad but she gives nikki this heart of infinity, a source of power, and tells her to get all the miracle outfits to save the world yayy. honestly the cutscenes of this first part of the game are so incredible i recommend you to see them if you havent !

so you start in heartcraft kingdom and theres a main quest involving some issues happening there abt stolen wishes and people being put in a comma and well. not gonna get too much into detail bc im only halfway doing the main quest myself but its being quite interesting and its fun exploring new places and getting new ability outfits as the story progresses !!

and story aside i just love the open world aspect of this game but being a lot more cozier and prettier than other games like this. and ofc i enjoy a lot the dress up aspect, its really fun and the graphics are soooo good you can almost feel the textures in the clothes and all in all is such a beatiful game im loving it

Chapter 3: Aurora - Hope

Narrated by Nikki.

Narrator: As my vision turns snow-white, I can see a pure white canvas of memory slowly unfurl before me.

Narrator: And I see the girl with pink hair... that's me, from when I was a child.

Choose "What is she doing here?"

You: What is she doing here?

Narrator: Perhaps I'll be able to find the answer here in this memory.

Narrator: Dad and Mom once took Yoyo and me to see the aurora. To the child that I was then, it was a very long trip.

Narrator: Carrying a bag on his back, Dad was ready to leave the car to set up his camera and wait for the aurora.

Dad: It's cold out there. Feel free to stay in the car. Mom and I will let you know when the aurora is out.

Yoyo: I'm not going to stay in the car. There is no way I'm going to miss even a single second of this!

Mom: And you, Nikki?

Narrator: Through the window, I stared at the world outside the car. Was this the end of the world? The starry sky was so close to me that I felt as if I could grab them when I reached out my hand. Is there a miracle among these stars?

Mom: Nikki, chop-chop. Let's take some pictures of the aurora!

Nikki: Sure.

Narrator: Mom put another scarf on us each and, with our hands in hers, took us into the snow-white world.

Nikki: It's snowing so hard!

Narrator: As a kid, I would always be super excited about the first snow of the year, because the first snow of the year always came around my birthday.

Narrator: And when it came, I would always be the first one to rush out the door to catch that first snowflake. It was a most special gift... from the world itself.

Narrator: But when I looked behind myself... I saw my tiny footprints quickly disappear under the snow, as if they'd never been there.

Momo: What are you thinking about, Nikki?

Narrator: I shook my head, suddenly feeling a little upset. The snowflakes and I were much too insignificant compared to the snowfield and the starry sky.

Yoyo: Nikki, look! The aurora!

Narrator: I snapped back when Yoyo called my name. She took my hand and dragged me to where Dad and Mom were.

Narrator: I raised my head and held my breath... in the absolute silence that immersed us all.

Narrator: The tranquil night and the white snow were polar opposites. The ever-changing yet beautiful light belt showered down on me, as if inviting me to join it.

Narrator: Forgetting how cold it was, I traced out in the cold air the shape of the aurora as I accepted its invitation.

Narrator: It was as if I scooped up a handful of starlight and sprinkled it on soft fabric. I always imagined turning my less-than-perfect design drafts into dresses that would actually billow in the breeze.

Narrator: The warmth I was feeling was throbbing in unison with my heartbeat. As I winked, the camera captured the moment with a snap.

Narrator: A snowflake landed softly in my hand.

Nikki: So pretty!

Narrator: So this is that special snowflake of the year.

Narrator: On our way back, we were all excited as we started going through the photos Dad took on his camera.

Narrator: The inside of the car warmed up right away because there were four nicely wrapped human heat bags and a cat packed in it.

Narrator: Dad would always go to all sorts of dangerous places to take pictures, and I never quite understood why he did that.

Narrator: But I guess I knew why that is now... it's because we, in spite of ourselves, gravitate towards and seek out beauty.

Nikki: So, I see you travel the world to take pictures of these beautiful views, Dad.

Dad: Well, that's only half correct, Nikki.

Dad: The mountains could be great, and the stars could shine in all their glory, but they are ultimately only so because they are seen through our eyes.

Dad: These views are only beautiful because we define them as beautiful, and this is what gave rise to civilization.

Nikki: Hmm?

Yoyo: You're trying to sound worldly and smart, aren't you, Dad?!

Narrator: Dad burst out laughing as he picked a photo out of his camera... the dazzling aurora in it seemed straight out of a fairy tale, with a pink-haired girl standing at one end and the starry night hanging on the other.

Narrator: It seemed as though she was just one step away from setting foot in the depths of the night sky.

Narrator: Even then, I knew that there was more to those pictures than meets the eye... they were bits and pieces of the world as Dad saw them, too.

Narrator: The time we spent together on the trip was what made the aurora seem all the more real and beautiful.

Narrator: The snow erased my footprints, but Dad's pictures were proof that my footprints had once been there.

Narrator: Small as I was, I was still able to carry myself tall as I met one of Mother Nature's miracles face to face.

Narrator: To the world, our existence might be insignificant. To our family, however, we are the world.

Narrator: Dad had the picture developed as soon as we got back to the hotel. It wasn't until I was ready for bed that I found the picture stuffed in an envelope beside my pillow.

Narrator: Behind the picture were lines of words that Mom wrote.

genshin impact ( stars legend ) : a fallen star, a kindhearted young woman travels teyvat studying fashion and everything that makes each nation unique. she has a heart made of diamonds, would fight with a catalyst and have a cryo vision.

disney ( heart of stars, princess nikki ) much like rapunzel, nikkis world is very euro centric, only resonating with stars and wishes. designing her own dresses and catering to those who want the same, she is a well respected princess with a kingdom free of chaos and villains.

other games / series. i'm willing to place nikki into other verses such as lol/arcane, marvel/dc; with the idea in mind that she is a healer & divine based role. very oblivious to her fame and genuinely wants to help people.

Combined with the details in the published content, the tabloid speculates.

This should be an April Fool's Day surprise prepared by Momo for Nikki.

Born to a famous photographer from China and an American model, Nikki's life has admittedly been one of luxury with her older sister and pet cat. Her father was often away, and was currently still away before going to Miraland, due to his passions for photography giving him the desire to travel the world and photograph sights never seen before.

However, Nikki didn't mind this as her father always found ways to keep in contact with her. Due to her mother's career as a famous model, it did mean that Nikki often traveled to stay close to her mom, but it meant Nikki grew a deep passion for fashion at a young age.

In her free time, Nikki also took ballet for many years as a hobby but found she was much more passionate about fashion design than dance, though she still often uses ballet poses when doing modeling in her free time to learn about the industry.

One particular evening, Nikki and her pet cat, Momo, were looking for a dress for Nikki to wear when she suddenly found a beautiful red dress that happened to be magical! It transported Nikki to the world of Miraland where she's told she must find the Miracle Outfits to restore peace to the world and eliminate darkness, where all her wishes will come true.

Being a kind-hearted girl, Nikki sets off on this journey despite the surprisingly hard situation of being in an entirely different world. Still, she's surprisingly resilient and goes along with new environments surprisingly well, all things considered.

Nikki can be a hopeless romantic and your typical fashion-loving girl, but she can be very determined and serious when the situation needs her to be. Even so, she remains sweet and encouraging to everyone she meets. Although, she does have her limits but even then, Nikki doesn't react as harshly as anyone else would when against someone not so great.

Infinity Nikki Preview - A Promising Dress Rehearsal - Game Informer

Infinity Nikki’s big PlayStation State of Play spotlight in May garnered an array of reactions. Fans of the popular Nikki series of mobile fashion games were excited to see the pink-haired fashionista make her triple-A debut. Unfamiliar viewers either dismissed it as an overly whimsical dress-up game or found themselves unexpectedly intrigued by its delightful and unique spin on an open-world experience. I count myself in that third camp. Something about the game’s premise stuck with me, but after playing several hours of a beta version, I’ve gone from admiring Infinity Nikki conceptually to being genuinely excited to wear the full experience. 

The adventure sees the titular Nikki and her furry best pal, Momo, preparing for a ball only to be unwillingly transported to the magical world of Miraland. A god-like being named Ena the Curator tells Nikki she’s been chosen to find and restore the Miracle Outfits, a collection of magical and powerful dresses, to uncover a divine truth. Along the way, Nikki also learns that she’s a Stylist. These are special people with the ability to find and create outfits anytime, anywhere. 

I begin the game with three Ability Dresses, special outfits bestowing a unique power. One is the blue dress/blonde hair ensemble seen in the State of Play trailer that allows me to perform a floating jump Princess Peach style. Not only is this good for crossing large gaps or bounding between rooftops, but Nikki can also perform a plummeting slam to defeat enemies or shatter fragile objects. A Purification dress is used for combat, letting Nikki fire orbs of cleansing energy to purify (not kill) demonically corrupted enemies called Esselings and collectibles. One cute dress lets Nikki groom certain animals to collect materials from them. Primary abilities like floating and purification are mapped to buttons while specialized dresses like the grooming or a bug-catching dress I unlock later can be activated via a selection wheel.

Based on the beta slice, Miraland is vast and inviting, thanks to colorful and lush flower fields, rolling hills, and the quaint village of Florawish. Infinity Nikki looks as pretty as her wardrobe. There’s plenty to do and explore, whether it’s completing side quests or, the main hook, hunting for Whimstars. These special stars are used to unlock new items and perks from a skill tree and are scattered everywhere. While some can merely be found (with help from Momo’s special vision that can highlight and tag distant Whimstars), others have small challenges tied to them. Examples include defeating enemies or searching for hidden gold stars, such as an ornament atop an umbrella. You can also gain Whimstars by entering special portals that warp players to platforming/puzzle challenge rooms reminiscent of shrines from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, albeit simpler. I like gathering Whimstars as it captures the familiar joy of collecting stars in a 3D Mario game. 

Whimstars are spent unlocking new outfits and other items in a skill tree called the Heart of Infinity. However, this only makes the outfit available to be crafted – you still have to make it yourself. While exploring Miraland, you’ll gather materials like various fruits, flowers, threads, furs, and more to craft a desired ensemble, consisting of parts like hairstyles, upper and lower body wear, make-up, and accessories. Sketches for outfits can be found or earned by completing quests and other activities. 

The more outfit sketches you find and unlock, the higher your level as a Stylist rises. Early on, Nikki joins the Stylist Guild in Florawish. Here, she receives a tablet-like device called a Pear-Pal that keeps track of a litany of goals, such as defeating a quota of enemies or taking photos with an in-game camera. Completing goals raises your rank, which rewards money and materials to unlock more outfits. This should appeal to objective-oriented players, as there’s no shortage of meters to fill. With main story and side quests, Stylist Rank, and daily challenges, Infinity Nikki constantly tracks and rewards all aspects of play in a manner similar to games like Genshin Impact. 

Checking a box usually means getting new crafting materials or outfit sketches. This is an effective hook, as the Nikki series’ Bread and Butter is dressing up the heroine with a staggering collection of clothing options. You can outfit Nikki however you wish, regardless of any abilities tied to outfit pieces. If you really dig the bug-catching dress and want Nikki to rock that look 24/7, you can do that. With so many apparel options, players will likely spend a lot of time making Nikki look as girly, regal, or edgy as they see fit. 

Outside of roaming the scenic open world and collecting stars and materials, a main story quest adds some meaty narrative intrigue. Cutscenes are nicely rendered and have solid comedic writing at times. Characters like a talking dragon-like poet or moments like watching a girl riding a giant origami paper plane crash into and level a building add an oddball charm to the perpetually saccharine vibe. 

Infinity Nikki is chock full of charm at every turn. Even manipulating the world’s day/night cycle involves playing a cute Flappy Bird-esque minigame. Every corner aims to make you smile while completing myriad objectives, and earning new outfits provide effective dopamine hits. While I enjoy basking in Infinity Nikki’s cozy atmosphere, its cinematic teases of a grander mystery intrigued me even more. I still have little idea what to make of this world and how it works, but I want to learn more, and several lore books and other notes suggest what could be unexpectedly deep world-building. The game also features a multiplayer component, but it was not available in the beta, and developer Infold Games isn’t ready to discuss it yet. 

Most of all, having an open-world game that doesn’t feature overt violence is refreshing. I wouldn’t consider any obstacle I’ve encountered thus far to be challenging, but there’s an allure to just being in this world that’s hard to deny – everything is just so darn pleasant. I’ve got my outfit picked out, so hopefully, Infinity Nikki’s release won’t leave us waiting too much longer. 

Infinity Nikki is coming to PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. A closed PC public beta is now available for select registered players.
