Hey, not wanting to push you if you’ve already answered this but are there gonna be further updates to Mint Ice-cream and bubblegum kisses?

The writing is fantastic and I’d love to see how it all ends

Hey, Anon! And everyone, really.

I want to finish that story. I really do. About once a week, I open the document and stare at it for an hour and then I just...close it. It's a bit of a writing slump, but there is another reason.

I've talked about my diagnosis with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome on my profile before. At least, I think I have. It might've been on a different blog. My memory is so bad these days.

EDS is a connective tissue disorder that heavily affects the joints. Usually, this is my knees, hips, and lower back. Anything from the waist down.

Early in January last year, I started noticing other places being affected. I was in makeup school at the time and I started to struggle with doing small detail work and repetitive things. I didn't see it as a big deal at the time, considering I was sculpting for eight hours, five days in a row.

About a year ago, I started college as a flute major. I've played flute for nine years by that point. School started September. I was told in early October that, medically, I had to stop playing flute.

It was...difficult, to say the least. Coming to terms with that kind of thing was a grieving process. It really was. And I can talk all day about what that's like and the thought process I had and how my last concert ever as a flutist really was, but I won't here. What this is all culminating to is: I *can't* write like I used to.My hands tire out and cramp up and they just don't work like they used to when I started the story. I have it lined out. I know how it ends. It's just...writing it. And when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, my own body is unreliable. I could type five words, I could type five thousand. I won't know until I start.

TL;DR version: I want to update it in the future, but it's all down to what my body will allow me to do.

Mad Spring - sour gummies, you feral little goblin. Tangfastics. Airheads. Sour Patch Kids. Like High Summer, you choose fruit-flavored gummy sweets, but you pick ones coated in Pain Sugar. It isn’t enough to just get sugar: you’re chasing a different Sensory Experience (TM) than the rest. And that’s great.

Warm Spring - white chocolate, ruby chocolate, pastel mint drops, cotton candy, bubblegum. Marshmallows. Sweet, creamy, usually pastel. You have no particular objection to floral tastes like lavender and rose. You may be able to appreciate Turkish Delight.

Midsummer - tropical fruits: chewy and slightly creamy in pastel colors. Starburst/Opal Fruit, Creamsicles/Solero. Maoam strips. Cream sodas. Skittles, despite being jewel-toned, are in this season. Coconut and pineapple flavors go here. Also the home of chalky-type sweets like Love Hearts/candy hearts, smarties (usa) and You may be also able to appreciate Turkish Delight.

High Summer - Gummy bears and chewy, jellyish, jammy, gummy, springy in bright jewel tones. Gummy worms and jelly snakes, jelly babies, jelly beans, Haribo. Clearer and gummier than Midsummer.

Autumn Night - darker and more complex sweetness, often including an element of burning or alcohol, or another challenge. Cherry cordials, marzipan, champagne truffles. Also home of burnt-sugar tastes: maple candy, bonfire toffee, candy corn. Also home of matcha; red liquorice; red bean paste. When people bring you sweets from other countries, they’ll choose unusual local delicacies. You almost certainly were fascinated as a kid by lollipops at the science museum sold with real bugs in them.

Autumn Salt - peanut butter and peanut brittle, salted caramel, toffee, butterscotch. Toffee popcorn, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, Snickers, Daim. If nobody has any nuts, you’ll choose chocolate with nuts, crisp or crunch over other things. Sweet just isn’t enough.

Winter Spice - herbal, spicy and medicinal sweets, usually hard old-fashioned sweets. Red-hots, burning cinnamon, chilli - eucalyptus, root beer, menthol; sarsaparilla. Hard candy, generally: old fashioned ‘boiled sweets,’ things that look gorgeous in glass jars. Parma violets. Fisherman’s Friends. You’re the only person who would eat a gingerbread house after decorating it. You’re also possibly a ghost, or used to be a Mad Spring. It’s also about the SENSATION.

Midwinter - dark black Licorice. Salty? Sweet? saltlakrids? Allsorts? Australian? You might like other things too, but when your loved ones are in another country, they go to the licorice aisle and get you the weirdest local variant they can find.

Long Winter - true chocolate, basic chocolate stuff: M&Ms. Dairy Milk. Hershey’s Kiss. But also home of fudgy tastes and sugar-on-sugar in a long slow sauce. Marshmallow, Handmade fudge, Phish Food ice cream.

Cool Winter - naturally, the homebase of minty tastes. peppermint wheels, York’s Peppermint Patties, After Eights. Also orange - chocolate orange - and, oddly, pixie sticks/sherbet and other sweet things that involve eating simple flavored sugar.

Girly Girl ~ Chris Sturniolo

Summary: Your a girly girl and Chris loves it.

You and Chris had been dating for a couple of months now, friends for years before hand and one thing he loved about you, other than your caring nature, was your sense of style.

You were an official girly girl. Ninety percent of your wardrobe, along with Chris', was full of pink, skirts, dresses and cute tops.

Chris loved it, seeing you so happy dancing around in a little skirt or dress. Your perfect white socks and cute shoes. He always admired your love for fashion and loved how your fashion matched your personality. Sweet and caring.

Today Chris had planned on taking you on a date. Neither of you were a fan of anything fancy, so ice cream was your favourite thing. You were doing your make up in Chris' bathroom mirror, when he stood in the doorway admiring you.

"Like what you see?" You teased, making him laugh.

"Very much. Still can't believe your my girl." He responded.

You knew about Chris' past fears of dating, worried about being used due to past experiences, but the day you met him and became friends, he knew you were special.

When you finished your make up, you walked over to Chris, gently kissing his lips, giggling as your lip gloss stuck to his lips as well.

"I don't mind." He said, as you tried wiping it off.

"Cause it tastes like strawberries." You said, making him smile.

You both then left, getting an Uber to the ice cream parlour. Chris was showing you funny TikTok's the whole time, making you smile and laugh.

When you arrived, you thanked the driver, walking over to the ice cream parlour. You held Chris' hand as you walked in, listening to the soft music that was playing and looking at all the different choices.

"What you getting, babe?" He asked.

"Maybe strawberry, or mint, ooh or maybe bubblegum!" You exclaimed, making Chris giggle.

It was then your turn to order. Chris ordered what he wanted and ordered for you too. As you went to pay, Chris stopped you and paid for you both.

"My treat, ma." He said.

"Thanks baby." You replied, kissing his cheek.

Chris smiled as you both got handed your ice cream cones, before going to sit outside on a bench.

"After this, where would you like to go, babe?" Chris asked you.

"Hmm, we passed a cool shop, it's just down the street and has some cute clothes in." You answered, making him nod.

Once you finished your ice cream, giggling about how some got on Chris' lip, you both walked to the store you were talking about. Chris wrapped his arm around your shoulder as you walked in.

You started browsing all the clothes, Chris following you as you looked at different things, getting his opinion on some of the stuff. Most of it he liked, some he didn't and you valued his answers.

"Ooh what about this!" You cheered, holding up a pink dress.

"It's cute, angel. I like it." He said with a wide grin.

You smiled and pecked his lips as a thank you as you continued browsing for different clothes. Chris knowing they would be pink and cute.

Plot Holes

“Shit’s been… weird, since the gates opened,” Steve says, looking down at his wrist watch. 8:04 PM. “Like… jumpy or something? Right? Robin?”

He looks up. Robin’s gone. The sun is high in the east, dropping morning kisses over dewy lush green leaves, and when Steve looks down at his watch again his sneakers are different. New. He scuffs the toe of one against the curb, watches it change in real time. Time’s all fucked up ever since that fourth chime sounded — got shredded just like the town itself; doesn’t work right anymore, and now it’s 9:17 it’s 6:35 it’s 11:02 and Steve is older, younger, older again.

Nancy’s gone and then she isn’t.

The kids are there and then they’re not kids.

Steve sighs, starts walking toward the center of town. They’ve been calling them “plot holes,” these glitchy time skips, like the universe has the hiccups. Well, Dustin’s been calling them that, anyway. It’s hard to see him now. Hard to see anyone, really, when they keep getting ping-ponged through space-time in uncoordinated bursts.

The last time Steve and Dustin’s plot holes crossed paths was two weeks ago in the summer of 1985. They’d spent the afternoon eating ice cream at Scoops: Steve in his silly sailor suit, Dustin shifting from age fourteen to forty-five as they mixed up the worst flavor combos they could think of. They’d gotten one good hug in, one really solid squeeze, and then the kid had disappeared mid-bite of a chocolate-banana-mint-bubblegum sundae.

At least there’s Eddie.

Steve spots him now at the end of the road. Hopes he makes it to him before he gets sent somewhere else again. He’s been trying to reach him for four decades, give or take.

Because Eddie doesn’t jump. Eddie’s exempt from the nightmare of atoms flung at random across the trampoline of time and space, because Eddie isn’t even supposed to be here. Shouldn’t still be alive — Steve watched Dustin cry over his body; all that blood, so much blood, and maybe Eddie isn’t here. Maybe he’s a figment of Steve’s fractured imagination, some lighthouse beacon Steve invented while he’s been drowning out at sea.

But it doesn’t feel that way. It feels real, feels like one good squeeze when Eddie waves him on, beaming and cheering “you can do it, Stevie, come on!”

Steve reaches out his hand and knows he’ll make it there this time.

IRL Sixsona Designs Pt. 2: Makeup Edition

Hey y'all! This is second in a series of a few extra sixsona posts that @lightleckrereins and I are doing this week. The first post is here, showing the real-life vinyl inspirations we used!

This time around, I'm doing yet another hypothetical: what makeup would be used for each sixsona design!! My list of makeup recommendations for Six cosplayers is probably the post I'm second-most proud of (after sixsonas ofc). When I was initially working on that I kept seeing makeup that would be perfect for some of our sixsona designs, so because I have absolutely zero chill of course I had to figure out the full makeup plots for each.

The basic rules were - one glitter - one eyeshadow palette - and two additional products to fill in any gaps, as needed (this included fun stuff like an extra glitter or liquid liner, but also practical things like additional eyeshadow shades when needed or a liquid base for more sheer colors)

Mint green with flawless Tomura

“I don’t know how you can eat that,” you say, nose scrunching up. “My teeth hurt just looking at it.” 

“Don’t look at it, then,” he snaps, the lines of his lips dyed a syrupy cyan, confection liquified by the heat of his mouth. 

But you just can’t help it, the monstrosity on a sugared cone continually drawing your eye no matter how hard you try to ignore it, looming in your peripheral vision like some sort of Lovecraftian horror.

It’s three scoops tall, with funfetti birthday cake as it’s base, speckled with colourful sprinkles and ribbons of icing running through the vanilla cream, followed by bubblegum cotton candy, pink rippled with teal, and topped with cookie monster; a heaping scoop of blue ice cream, laden with chunks of cookie dough and topped with a slice of a chocolate chip cookie, stuck in the cream. 

It’s a cavity waiting to happen. It’s several cavities waiting to happen, and you wince reactively, features twisting in phantom pain, teeth stinging. His tongue slithers from between his gooey lips, slick muscle tainted some nightmarish colour, and curls vindictively around his ice cream, gathering a mountainous glob and chewing it, a responding hiss inhaled through your clenched teeth.  

“You’re just weak,” Tomura continues, eyes narrowed. “And I don’t know how you can eat that.”

Ruby eyes stare pointedly at the drops of mint green ice cream dribbling over your knuckles, the icy treat melting rapidly in the July sun. 

“It really isn’t that bad,” your tongue darts out to lick at the dollops of sugar smeared across your fingers, doing little in the way of cleaning it up, saliva watering it down to a translucent turquoise, sticky and shimmering, pooling in the gaps of your fingers. 

“It really is that bad, and I can’t believe I’m dating a psychopath.”

“A psychopath?”

“Only psychos eat mint chip ice cream,” he reasons simply, shrugging a shoulder. “No sane person enjoys mint in their chocolate.”

Bubbles of incredulous laughter barrel up your throat, warm and tingling as they pop on your tongue, and he joins in, chuckling, his gaze mollifying beneath your amusement. His teeth are stained blue from the artificial dye, giving his smile an almost uncanny characteristic to it, eerie and wolfish. 

“Oh? And is that a fact?”

“It is a fact,” he confirms. “Ask Kurogiri.” 

You can’t help but giggle again at how direly serious he is, as if Kurogiri truly is the end-all, be-all wealth of knowledge in this life, his information gospel, his words final. You suppose in Tomura’s world, he is.

It’s cute, in Tomura’s trademark endearingly entitled kind of way, that he’s so staunchly confident in his statements; so sure that he’s correct, so sure that his custodian would confirm the validity of his claims in an instant. 

“A sugar fiend and a psychopath,” you sigh wistfully, resting your head on his shoulder. “What a pair we make.” 

“Could be worse.”

“Worse? How?”

“We could both like mint chip.” 

“Oh, yeah. Then we’d be real menaces to society.” 

authors note: tomu definitely refuses to kiss you until you have, as he so eloquently put it, rid your mouth of that horrid mint flavour, shoving various different candies and sodas at you in a desperate attempt to eradicate the offensive taste.

Tunner: to be honest I'm not a huge fan of ice cream but I usually would go for like... A vanilla bean

Lime: the fucking - uh- hh- coffee one- or the um... The fruit flavored ones.
