LEVITICUS FAUST-LAURENT

in high school platonic relationships and friendships were really important to them. being around friends was a welcome break from all of their responsibilities; sometimes they felt selfish when they'd hang out with friends instead of focusing on rory or being home to make sure their mom was okay, but it was good for them. after high school, after they lost their mom and wren, after they had to figure out how to be eighteen years old and a parent of two, they stop being able to spend as much time with their friends. eventually their friends stop making an attempt because they want to have fun and be young and that's hard when you have a baby and a preteen around. so at that point friendships were put on a back burner for them. they were still important but they weren't going to prioritize them like they used to. the friends they do have now are incredibly important to them but they're aware that they're a secondary priority in levi's life. familial relationships are the most important to levi, they always have been.

DOVE BAEK

platonic relationships are so important to them. they're all about making new connects and talking to new people. they love making friends and not being expected to pursue any further romantic relationship. when they were younger they had a harder time with forming friendships because they bounced around so much, they didn't stay in the same schools for very long until the end of high school. they were still able to make friends and enjoyed it, but it was hard to maintain those connections once they changed schools. and being as young as they were, it was insanely important to stay connected to the friends they'd made either. now they try and devote some time each day to staying in touch with their friends, and they're always letting them know how much they care. they're always doing little things to show how much they love their friends as well :] like giving them things that remind dove of them.

KIERAN BENNETT

honestly? he's not big on relationships, platonic or romantic. yes, he's in love and dating a wonderful girl. yes, he has some friends. it's complicated. he's fairly burnt out on platonic relationships because they always blow up in his face so, making new friends and spending time with his current friends isn't a huge priority for him. he cares about them, he does, but it's hard. he doesn't express how much he loves his friends all the time because he can't. he feels like any time he loves something he ends up hurt. this is the same thing with romantic relationships, the only reason he's not avoiding those is because he trusts felicity not to hurt him.

BEAU BLACKTHORN

he is the KING of friendship and loving his friends! he's basically a golden retriever in a human body. he's the sweetest boy in the world and he's always showing how much he loves his friends. and it makes his heart feel so full when he gets platonic affection back, because he's ready to give it so freely and not everyone is down to return it.

HIRANO RYO

while she loves her friends and values platonic relationships so so much, she has a hard time showing it sometimes. she's too shy or scared to be as open as she wants to be because she's been told she's too much. or her affection was unwanted. her closest friends are like family to her, she doesn't know where she'd be without them acting as her biggest supporters. she treats them with the same level of importance as she does her actual family and it's easier for her to be more physically affection with them. she loves being on the receiving end of platonic affection!! she loves being hugged or held or getting memes that remind her friend of her!! she loves it so much!! the biggest, most important things any of her friends do for her, is checking in and making sure she's not overwhelmed by all the noise. one of her closest friends will check in on her and nudge her to take hearing breaks if she needs to, they'll hold onto her hearing aids until she wants them back because she's always worried she'll lose them if they're not on.

KIT WARREN

romantic relationships / love were never his main priority. yeah, he had relationships but dating was hard as hell for him so he decided to focus more on his friends. because he knew that his closest friends would accept him as he is, not get close to him only to freak out once they found out he was trans, like some of his partners did. he's happier now that all of his relationships are a bit more functional and he's grown up quite a bit. so he's capable of caring about his friends and his boyfriend without being anxious that something bad will happen. he tries to give out platonic affection n stuff but he's still working on that, it's easier for him to return it than it is for him to initiate.
