Escape ( 탈출 ) kmn/ncy.

In which Kim Minnie finds out that her girlfriend can play the piano. Requested

You open the door to you and you girlfriend’s shared home, after a long stressful day at work you we’re looking forward to spending your time with Minnie. You take off your shoes, putting them away neatly before hanging your jacket on the coat rack.

You feel your phone vibrate in your pocket, taking it out you see a notification from Minnie, basically telling you that she probably won’t be home early today either due to the fact that she and the rest of the producer line were busy preparing songs for their next comeback.

Obviously, you were a bit disappointed at this, having wanted to spend the evening with her but nonetheless you let her. You let out a small exhale, putting your phone down and making your way to the unused room in your home.

The room was originally going to be a guest room but you both decided on making it a place for storage, among the other items in that room stood a piano, Minnie had told you that her parents had gifted it to her for her 17th birthday though she never found any interest in learning the instrument.

You ran the tip of your fingers against the keys, thought it was a bit out of tune due to the time it went unused, you didn’t mind. Minnie slowly closed the door behind her, despite what her manager had told her earlier, they let her go home early.

She put her things away, ears perking up when she heard the gentle sounds of a piano playing, weird, you usually weren’t the type to listen to classical music, minnie thought to herself. She moved closer to the storage room, the sound of the piano was getting louder each step she took.

Her eyes widened when she realized what exactly was being played on the piano, escape, aka the song she wrote. She opened the door to see you sat on a stool, fingers skillfully pressing on the keys to create a beautiful melody. You didn’t seem to realize that she was right there behind you until you heard her clap.

“O-oh, Min! I–I, uhm, I thought you said you were gonna be home late,” you stuttered over your words causing Minnie to let out a small chuckle. “Yeah well, Manager-nim told me I could go home early today.” She said, taking a step closer, both hands cupping your face as she looked at you with adoration.

“Why didn’t you tell me you could play the piano?” She said in a soft voice, thumb gently stroking your cheek. “I– uhm.. the topic never really came up so I didn’t think it was interesting enough to mention..” you murmured, Minnie shook her head at that. “You should’ve told me so that at least this old thing could be used instead of collecting dust.”

Your face reddened at her words but you knew she meant well. After a few moments of silence she spoke up once more. “Escape?” You nodded sheepishly as silence filled the room once more. Minnie’s gaze moves over to the piano keys, the tip of her fingers lightly running against it.

“Can you teach me sometime?” She said out of nowhere, your eyes widen slightly at her request. “I thought you didn’t wanna learn the piano?” Minnie shrugged, “I don’t mind learning anything as long as you’re my teacher.”
