the fifth instalment of my musical translation series — entering an elite academy amidst shrewd lies and shocking truths. will friendship endure, or will betrayal tear them apart?

hi huh. seeing your posts about lameness and loser jae.. wanna ask if you also like lewser jae or find this mode of him cute? heheheh

btw i'm one of the few people who tune into lastart 🥲 sm doesn't make it very accessible and i think quite lots of fans don't find nct "fresh" anymore? or are into solo unit stan culture.

i'm a 127zen tbh but i still tune into lastart out of curiosiyy for the last unit. no shades intended but not very drawn to yusion either. i like ryu, minjae and jungmin enough as vocalists tho. agreed with everyone they sound kinda rock. i thinks jungmin and ryu sound unique but minjae sounds more grounded and most comfortanle to my ear.. i'm no vocal expert but i feel it. jungmin's tone catches people's attention best. ryu sounds most expressive to me.

i want all 3 in the lineup tbh but unless a kpop group has more members, they will most likely pick 2 vocalists or even 1..? ofc riku should be there too as a rapper. i like his tone and effort and his visual's unique too. the judges seem to like anderson not to mention his english so he will likely get in as well.

yusion probably sm choice of current best dancers with visuals. i read yushi was in a kid jpop group as vocal? but he's marketed as dancer now it seems.

Lewser Jaehyun is adorable.

It is fun to joke about him as a loser because he isn't. He was a studious student, he is a hardworking idol, he is one of the most popular neos, he is good at dancing and is a third best vocalist in NCT, he has many interests, a thinker, and he actually got the boy he was crushing on. However, he is also a clumsy person and a softie push-over. Noone likes true losers who think they deserve something because they are nice or out of pity. Capable people being lame at something just look more approachable and endearing.

Lewser Jaehyun also matches well awkward Doyoung. Lewser Jaehyun reminds me how he is a perfect match for Doyoung, who likes human ducklings and puppies. In his case the flaw becomes the winning trait.

I think a lot of people don't even know that the show has started. It is not hard to find a screen rip-off on twitter, one just needs to look. So it's not the case of avialability. Plus, the performances with the contestants are being uploaded on YT. It is lack of interest due to fans sticking to their unit or their biases. I just happen to like idol surviving shows, even if I hardly ever sit through them till the end, I continue to try the new ones.

Ryu, Minjae and Jungmin can't all pass, me thinks. Giving that Sion is a vocal as well, 4 vocals in a 6 member group... can happen only if SM plans a TVXQ 2.0, heh. I won't mind, heh, but nowadays there is too much attention paid to the performance part.

I wonder about the decision to advance YuSion to SM Rookies right away. Maybe SM wants to secure some number of fans (that would be attracted to them) right away, as well as show that they are going to make it even between Koreans and Japanese 50/50 (too many shows that proclaim to be global/multinational end up with very few Japanese/Chinese in the final line up).

spurs fans are so fucking annoying, they discredit young players like alejo and minhyuk but not with lucas, archie and mikey... i see a pattern here...

helloooo anon!! think part of it is the fact that a lot of ppl who follow pl clubs are only tuned into the english footballing pyramid and so they’re okay with hyping players like archie up bc he had a good season in the championship. and mikey for example is one of our own so obviously he’ll get hyped (until he drops a stinker and then he’ll get random hate).

another part of it is definitely racist and i’ve talked about it here too; in the case of minhyuk it is just absolutely jarring to suggest that he’s being signed because of shirt sales or whatever the fuck. it undermines his talent and hard work and it is an insult to the many many many korean people who support this club because they love this club! and it pisses me off because like i’ve said these are people who don’t watch the k league and have absolutely no clue about minhyuk or his profile. it’s ludicrous because we’ve let players like kim minjae and lee kangin pass us by and especially with the former you had people moaning and moaning about us being linked to him before napoli and then moaning and moaning about us not signing him after he won the scudetto. pick a fucking lane man 😭

i will however say that that is a very vocal minority. i feel the majority of the fanbase online (on reddit—check out the posts with romano’s hwg and the initial link, everyone was hyped—and most ppl on twitter as well) is excited about minhyuk, it’s just weirdos who are loud and stupid who have got to ruin it for all of us. it’s not a good look on the fanbase.

Biografia:

Choi Minjae, como é conhecido pela família e amigos próximos, nasceu e cresceu em um lar amoroso de Daegu. A família de classe média sempre buscou o melhor para seu filho único, fazendo com que Minjae tivesse uma infância e adolescência amorosas, mas também com diversas atividades extracurriculares para compor seu currículo. O sonho da família era que se tornasse um médico de renome, e por isso eram tão rígidos com suas notas, fazendo com que se tornasse um dos alunos mais bem ranqueados de sua turma.

A verdade, porém, era que Minjae não pretendia cursar medicina. Ao menos, não a que eles gostariam que ele fizesse. Aos catorze, se apaixonou pela primeira vez por um cachorro sem lar, levando-o para casa e implorando que os pais o deixassem ficar com o animalzinho. Depois de horas de insistência, conseguiu a permissão, desde que cuidasse por conta própria e fosse responsável por todas as necessidades do bichinho. Dali, Minjae encontrou sua paixão pelos animais, descobrindo que o que realmente desejava era se tornar médico veterinário.

Ainda na adolescência, conseguiu um trabalho de meio período como atendente de um petshop em Daegu, e o dinheiro era usado tanto para manter o cãozinho, quanto para guardar para o futuro. Mas, para a infelicidade do garoto, aos dezessete anos, Bin, o cachorrinho, faleceu por velhice, o que o deixou devastado; mas ainda mais focado em sua vontade de se tornar veterinário.

A briga para que pudesse seguir esse caminho foi grande. No último ano do ensino médio, a conversa foi levada aos pais, que inicialmente não queriam aceitar a decisão do menino; alguns dias depois, acabaram cedendo, e Minjae pôde se inscrever em diversas universidades, optando, por fim, pela Seoul National University.

Com ajuda monetária dos pais e o dinheiro que havia guardado, se mudou para Seoul, onde começou seus estudos e, posteriormente, conseguiu um estágio na ��rea que estudava, para que pudesse ao menos contribuir financeiramente para seu sonho se tornar realidade. Atualmente, também possui um furão de estimação chamado Junji, que vive consigo no complexo.
