Me and one of my friends were talking about the idea of John and Paul being in a relationship because they were so close and we joke about summoning John and just asking him and I found that funny so I made a comic.

Btw the “Let me rephrase the question, is Paul your husband?” Was a direct quote from my friend. Also, it was just supposed to be the first panel that’s colored but I added to it so now there is more.

Three ships: i guess mclennon seeing as it's the ship du jour, but idk if that one stands the test of time for me yet. as for ones that definitely do: raylan/boyd, always. and pacey/joey set my standards of romance forever.

First ship: derek/casey from life with derek, and while i don't think this necessarily says anything about me, i do think it's funny that i kicked off this whole life journey with step-siblings

Last TV Show: that i finished - america's sweethearts: dallas cowboys cheerleaders, which was kind of fascinating in the same way the paris hilton documentary was weirdly fascinating. i also sort of finished the bear in that i gave up 30 mins into the last episode of this season because it hit my boredom threshold.

Currently watching: house of the dragon let's gooooo dragon fight!!! i'm about to wrap up my mad men rewatch as well :(

Currently reading: as well as watching mad men i've been reading mad men carousel: the complete critical companion for some extra flavour. i plan to start the heart of a dog by mikhail bulgakov when i'm done.

This is not my idea, this was inspired from a Two Kingdoms AU post that my freind @johns-prince​ posted/reblogged. I played telephone with her and asked about tons of things that she then asked @apollyodon​ about, so to everyone who is involved in this (and by default put up with me, oops!) thank you for the lovely inspiration, maybe I’ll do some more doodles of this later on! I hope I did it some justice?

Stealing clothes// Mclennon

I’m going to write a longer version I just wanted to put this out there :)

A sign escaped Johns lips as he walked down the hotel hallway. The whole day he spent out at press conferences and interviews, answering the same dumb questions asked by the same moronic interviewers. The whole time he spent wishing he was back in his hotel room, cuddled up with Paul and placing kisses on his face and neck. His anger and frustration eased a little just thinking about the other boy. His mind drifted off as he thought of Paul’s big eyes and his plush lips that move against his so sweetly. He thought about how he’ll kiss his nose and above his eyebrows, how he’ll take Paul’s face and tuck it into his neck.

Before he knew it he was standing in front of the hotel door, swiping his key card and letting himself in. The room wasn’t very big, with one bed covered in white blankets, a stove, mini fridge, and a small bathroom tucked away in the back of the room. The blankets were ruffled and he could see a foot sticking out from the bottom of the sheets. The closer he looked he could make out brown, fluffy hair poking out from the top.

Hearing the door open, Paul lifted his head and his lips turned up into a soft, sleepy smile. John felt the stress leave his body, the tension lifting from his shoulders, and the anger flooding from his brain. All with a simple smile and Paul had him wrapped around his small finger. He pulled the blankets off of himself and stepped into the carpeted floor. As cute as he looked, John couldn’t help but feel a little jealous that Paul got to sleep in all morning and he didn’t.

Before Paul could embrace him, he noticed the clothes that he was wearing. Usually he didn’t wear anything in bed but it’s cold and they had to bundle up the last few days. Arms wrapped around his neck and he wrapped his arms around Paul’s waist. He placed a kiss on Paul’s hair, smelling the calming scent of his shampoo.

“Are you wearing my sweater?” Paul just giggled and nuzzled his face into his neck.

Hi, your remarks about angst really resonated with me - especially the part about people using one dimensional bad/abusive etc. characters as background for their fluff - I absolutely hate it when that happens and usually stop reading. I think it's fair enough to sometimes only go for a fluff tag or something that is advertised as "angst with a happy ending" as a reader if you want a fic to cheer you up, but if you do that all the time, that's not a great sign of emotional maturity in my book. The only thing I very much tend to avoid is MCD - especially in RPF, I wouldn't read or write that. In general, my RPF is relatively tame, I think. Obviously, I am in no way writing about the life of the real person, I'm just taking their public persona and inventing something, but it still has their name in it and, perhaps superstitiously, I don't want to treat them too badly, because words have power after all... I fully acknowledge that that part's a bit ridiculous :-P But back to the angst tag - I would never avoid a story just because of that, in fact, I might prefer it to "tooth-rotting fluff". Of course people have very different interpretations of the tags, "hurt&comfort" being a prime example - that could mean a little accident, or emotional hurt, or it could mean someone in the story has been tortured... It's complicated. In the beginning, I basically didn't tag at all because I didn't know what to put, and I'm still reluctant sometimes when I feel like the tag is a plot spoiler. The only compromise I've found in that case is to put a warning in the end notes and mention that there's a warning at the beginning - though that always makes me nervous as a reader (should I click it or shouldn't I?). Let me know if you have any thoughts about that and sorry for the novel-lenght post. This is what happens when I don't use the anon option :D

Thank you for this! I almost missed it at first because I never used to get submissions. I'm glad to hear post resonated with you. Again, I don't really care if people want to enjoy fluff but I used to get requests for more fluffy fics when I wrote mclennon and I wasn't interested in writing them. I'm even more against hurt/comfort actually because lots of people seem to be getting off on their fave being abused. Like you said there are different levels of this. And I don't mind if it's a minor theme. I particularly hate if rape or torture is involved and one of the characters heals the other with their love. (My friend calls it the magic dick-healing the character with the magical appendage)

some people have explained to me the reason they enjoy the trope is if their fave is emotionally closed off they enjoy them having to be vulnerable. I can understand that. I do write my faves having to deal with strong emotions because I think every one deals with intense situations at some point (I hope- that's part of life!) But I draw the line at invented violence and major illness.

The tagging thing is very difficult. I agree it's hard to decide when it fits particularly if it would spoil the fic. A friend of mine didn't tag her suicide fic and it caused a huge drama. I think your notes suggestion is a good one.

I tend to just spoil I guess. Better safe than sorry. Though I don't always think every tag is necessary depending on the fandom. I feel "drugs" "violence" shouldn't really come as a surprise when writing in the Oasis fandom. If something was particularly violent I might tag it I guess. Its difficult to take everyone's preferences into account. (To know what everyone might consider triggering. I've seen people tag "cheating" and "cigarettes")

On the subject of spoilers, even in real novels and films I feel the human race no longer wants to be surprised- or film makers are too scared to be sued. I do feel most people want to feel they're aware of all the elements ahead of time. That's why trailers are like a mini version of the film and don't seem to leave much out. Shame. But that's how it goes.

John sighs as he slumps down on the sofa, rubbing his temples tiredly.

“What a fucking day,” he sighs, watching Paul fumble through the mini-bar in their hotel room. “I feel like shit.”

“Me too.” Paul tosses the older man a small bottle of something alcoholic. “These last few weeks....I dunno. I thought it was just me. I’ve been feeling so tired and low. I just feel like...touring doesn’t really do it for me, y’know?”

He sits next to John and downs his own bottle, their thighs touching.

It really has been a tough few weeks. They talk about how they hate the constant moving and their anxieties over their security concerns, not to mention the exhaustion of constant performing.

“I feel like a prisoner in my own life,” Paul says sadly, his eyes shining.

He looks like he’s on the verge of tears, and John has never seen him like that before.

It feels completely natural to wrap an arm around Paul and pull him close, and it feels nice when Paul rests his head on John’s shoulder and wraps an arm around his waist. It feels good to be able to comfort him like this, and it just opens the floodgates for them to start talking about how unhappy they are.

“If if weren’t for you, I probably would have quit by now,” Paul says quietly.

John feels the same. Any band without Paul wouldn’t be a band worth being in.

Their eyes meet for just a second, and then they’re leaning in to brush their lips together.

John’s heart is pounding in his chest as he deepens the kiss, holding Paul in his arms and wondering why the hell they haven’t done this before.

Paul is flushed when they part, and John is just about to apologise when the younger man straddles his lap and fastens their lips together again.

This is probably the end of their friendship, but John doesn’t care.

With some effort he stands, supporting Paul under his bum as Paul wraps his legs around John’s waist, and John carries him to the bed.

They tear at each other’s clothes, and John can’t quite believe this is happening.

They’re behaving like they’re teenagers. When they’re naked, John can’t even be bothered to search for a condom and lube, so they just rut against each other, rubbing their erections together and kissing like a pair of virgins

He still can’t believe this is happening. They’re not even really fucking and yet it’s probably the best sex John has ever had.

It feels incredible to be so intimate with Paul, even if they are just acting like a couple of horny teenagers.

When it’s over, Paul smiles at John warmly and kisses him again, ignoring the mess they’ve made to tangle their legs together.

“I feel a lot better now,” Paul says softly.

John has to agree.
